Daily Commentary – Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 – Not Impressed by US Hockey Win Over Canada

  • Dana’s not convinced of all the hubbub. Olympic hockey in many respects has just become another venue for professional athletes to strut their stuff.

Sadly, there will never be another miracle on ice-like moment.

Even with the USA beating Canada for the first time in 50 years since Squaw Valley, it was not the same.

One, however, can’t just look to hockey for millionaires. Pretty much all the athletes are professional today. At least in many sports. The snow boarders and skiers make millions in endorsements and prizes.

So many athletes has endorsement deals.

It is no longer an amateur competition. It has not been for years.

Personally, I like the old way better.
