Pakistani-American Raid Captures Taliban’s Top Commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar

Chalk one up for the forces against evil.  Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s top military commander has been captured in Karachi, Pakistan, in a secret joint operation by Pakistani. According to reports, Mullah Baradar has been in Pakistani custody with American and Pakistani intelligence officials taking part in interrogations.

The commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is an Afghan described by American officials as the most significant Taliban figure to be detained since the American-led war in Afghanistan started more than eight years ago. He ranks second in influence only to Mullah Muhammad Omar, the Taliban’s founder and a close associate of Osama bin Laden before the Sept. 11 attacks.

Interrogated, what no Miranda rights and an attorney provided? Flopping Aces has the contrasting differences as to how the LEFT and RIGHT perceive this victory in the war on terror and how to proceed. Michelle Malkin asks the question that we all would like to know regarding this big fish capture … “What would Eric Holder say?”

I do have to chuckle about the following comment from the NY Times article regarding printing potentially sensitive information. Because they always followed this policy when George W. Bush was in office, didn’t they?

The Times is publishing the news now because White House officials acknowledged that the capture of Mullah Baradar was becoming widely known in the region.

Several American government officials gave details about the raid on the condition that they not be named, because the operation was classified.

I think it is important to note that Pakistan participated in this capture and is openly saying so. Congrats all the way around on the capture.

It is good. Congrats to the military involved.

Politically speeking, it all must be Bushs’ fault. It is only fair, when an idenity recieves full carpeting blame…the credits go under the same rug.

Now boys and girls let us be sure to give him his Miranda Rights before we give him a trial with the rights of full American Citizenship. We would hate to waterboard or otherwise traumatize this zealot for he might give information that could save thousands of lives

#5: exactly ! they can behead Americans on TV but it is torture when they get a little water poured in their mouth.
i guess the libcrats enjoyed seeing our citizens beheaded and pelosi probably bought a hundred thousand dollars worth of booze and had one of her airplane parties to boot.

emmm..Dave aren’t those journalists usualy leftwing liberals (beheaded Americans)?

DOLF: you are confusing this with hate. i don’t hate anybody. i’m often called a hater, racist, klan whatever because i don’t agree with the libcrat agenda.
i’m say that democrats make waterboarding into some kind of severe torture when their own are being beheaded by the very terrorists that they are protecting by giving them civilian rights.
it’s really not that complicated. now the obama administration wants credit for capturing this terrorist while condemning the CIA who actually was part of the capture. you know, the pelosi/obama pissing contest and pelosi lying about not knowing about waterboarding. democrats will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want.

My vote wouldn’t go to Pelosi, to leftwing for me.

and those terrorists are giving human rights, thats the way our law system works (yes both US & EU), or do you want to be the same as those nutcases?
Don’t you trust the US court to sentence them?

and for the CIA part; isn’t it tradition to blame the CIA when it goes wrong and take credit when it goes right.
Thats what politicians do, take credit and shift blame

In not 1 program overview I have read about cutting spending while everybody knows it has to be done (the new subway is like 2000 million eu over budget) and that after the election they are going to do it…so be f***ing honest about it
