Obamacare, Cuz It’s All About Reform: ACORN Qualifies for Funding in Health Care Bill

Obama in Wonderland continues …

Why are we not surprised? ACORN could benefit from Obamacare bill, say it isn’t so Joe, or should we say Barack!

vanderbilt_-obama_radrpubtrstVanderbilt -’09

Why would any individual be surprised by any of the Harry Reid give aways that were required to get the necessary 60 votes to move their terrible piece of so-called health care reform legislation known as Obamacare through the Senate. Because every organization like ACORN that has no issue with pimps, prostitutes and under-age child prostitute human sex trafficking should be allowed to get tax payer dollars.

Now we learn that scandal plagued ACORN now qualifies for funding under the Obamacare bill. UNREAL!  According to The Weekly Standard, Senator Roland Burris is claiming credit for a provision in Harry Reid’s “manager’s amendment,” that could funnel money to ACORN through the health care bill.

The provision he cites, found on pages 240 through 248 of the manager’s amendment, requires that six different agencies each establish an “Office of Minority Health.” The agencies are the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.”

According to page 241 of the amendment:

BLAME IT ON RIO? Rudy Giuliani Will not Run For NY Senate Seat in 2010

BLAME IT ON RIO!

America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani will not run for the NY United States Senate seat in 2010 against Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand.  Rudy Giuliani had a double digit lead in the polls against Gillibrand as well. Sad news for the Republican Party and their efforts to take back the Senate.

rudy_giuliani5

Rudy Giuliani is set to throw his endorsement to 2010 GOP gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio a press conference tomorrow, where he’s also expected to indicate he’s not running for US Senate himself next year, Republican sources told The Post.

The move likely closes the electoral career of Giuliani, who was known as “America’s Mayor” for his leadership in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and who has since created a multi-tiered career of speeches, consulting and security work, and a law practice.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to announce Tuesday that he is not running for the U.S. Senate or any other political office in 2010.  The decision puts an obvious damper on Republicans hopes for a Senate seat pick up in 2010. As Hot Air states a RUDY win would have been good for the Republican Party in so many ways.

A Rudy win would have given the party a foothold again in the northeast and a voice with a Senate megaphone to challenge Obama on detainee issues, for starters. And of course it would have undercut the media stereotype that the GOP is a small tent that’s dominated now by tea partiers and the like. All that, up in smoke.

I would second Jammie Wearing Fool’s comment that Giuliani’s decision comes as a complete surprise as RUDY was a lock to win the Senate seat.

2010 North Dakota Senate Election: Republican John Hoeven 58%, Byron Dorgan 36%

The 2010 future of the Democrat party is looking bleak …

There is one thing that has been learned from the partisan Democrat ramming through of Obamacare in the Senate against the will of the people. The only good Democrat is one voted out of office.

Democrats in some serious trouble in North Dakota in Republican Governor John Hoeven decides to run for Senate in 2010. If Hoeven runs,  incumbent Senator Byron Dorgan is all but gone. In a recent Rasmussen poll, Hoeven leads Dorgan 58% to 36% with only 6% undecided.

Incumbent Democratic Senator Byron Dorgan may have a serious problem on his hands if Republicans recruit Governor John Hoeven to run for the U.S. Senate in North Dakota next year.

The first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 telephone survey of likely voters in North Dakota finds the popular Republican governor leading Dorgan by 22 points – 58% to 36%. Just six percent (6%) are undecided in that senatorial contest.

Why is Dorgan getting his butt handed to him in the poll? Because Dorgan is going against the will of his constituents when it comes to Obamacare, as opposition to the health care plan is higher in North Dakota than it is nationally.

What do you think that this means what is in store  for the rest of Democrats, including Nebraska’s Ben Nelson? Democrats are about to learn a real lesson in civics … It’s not nice to fool with WE THE PEOPLE!.

Senate Democrats Break Filibuster of Health Care with 1AM Vote; Partisan 60-40 Vote

Senate Democrats did this against the will of the People! We the People oppose it.

The Health care train wreck continues down the path with Americans as victims in it’s wake. Democrats, along partisan party lines, voted 60-40 last night at 1 AM in the morning to stop the debate and move Obamacare forward.

So what’s the hurry Democrats? Afraid the People may find out what is in the bill? What a sad day in American political history when a bill with such changing affects on the American health care system is not allowed to be debated or read for fear of the backlash from critics as they might become informed. The Senate and the White House did not want Senators to go home over the Christmas break and be confronted by their constituents.

So much for the transparency that Obama promised.

As Flopping Aces appropriately puts it … -They now “own” this trainwreck and it will cost them BIG!

We are only now learning the price Democrats paid for those votes. $100 million for a hospital in Sen. Chris Dodd’s state of Connecticut, $500 million for Medicaid for Massachusetts and $100 million for Medicaid in Nebraska to win Ben Nelson’s vote and $600 million for Medicaid in Vermont. That’s on top of Sen. Mary Landrieu’s $300 million for Louisiana. Those of us not living in the above states will have the pleasure of supporting this corruption by paying for it with our tax dollars.

Republican Leader McConnell Releases Statement on Historic Mistake:

“But make no mistake: if the people who wrote this bill were proud of it, they wouldn’t be forcing this vote in the dead of night

“Here are just some of the deals we’ve noticed:

“$100 million for an unnamed health care facility at an unnamed university somewhere in the United States — the bill doesn’t say where — and no one will even step forward to claim it.

Democrat Math & CBO Already Correcting the Cost of Obamacare

Surprise, surprise, surprise … Wow, that was quick … the Democrat math is already being revised!!! Gee, look what happens when you try and rush to a conclusion to meet some artificial time limit so that Obama and his fellow Democrats could save face at the expense of “We the People.”

DEMOCRAT MATH: 1+1 = $100 million

The Gateway Pundit reminds us that all this is possible and a 60 vote partisan Democrat vote ramming through health care thanks to the the buy off of Ben Nelson, that man of principle.

Nebraska will receive $100 million in assistance for its state Medicaid program under provisions in the Senate’s healthcare reform bill negotiated by Sen. Ben Nelson (D).

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) informed lawmakers on Sunday night that the section of the manager’s amendment to the Senate’s health bill would cost $1.2 billion over 10 years. [the Cornhusker Kickback]

Michelle Malkin’s comments are frightening and should make every one stop and take pause. The fact of the matter is no one knows what this will cost America and it appears that Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the partisan Democrats in the House and Senate could care less.

The full CBO correction is here and it underscores how dismal the government’s record is in projecting the true costs of massive entitlement programs.

CBO revises cost of Obamacare saying  it would reduce deficits slightly less than they’d predicted. The real question is, does any one know what the real cost of this overhaul of health care will cost?

Actress Brittany Murphy died early Sunday morning at the age of 32 from a cardiac arrest. She died while being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.  Brittany Murphy went into cardiac arrest, could not be revived and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Brittany Murphy, Rest in Peace

Brittany Murphy acting career included  such popular films as “Clueless,” “8 Mile,” and “Don’t Say a Word.” I had forgot that Brittany Murphy did the voice over of Luanne Platter in over 200 episodes of King of the Hill.

According to TMZ, a 911 was made at 8:00 AM from the  Los Angeles home that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack.  They are also reporting that Brittany Murphy’s mom discovered her unconscious in the shower.

There is a police investigation into the death of Brittany Murphy.

The AP is reporting that Murphy appears to have died from natural causes. Natural causes? A 32 year old dies of a cardiac arrest and it is assumed natural causes. Bizarre.

However, this is rather peculiar … according to TZM, Murphy’s husband did not want an autopsy preformed. Why would that be?

So what states ate you in? One that is happy or one of the less cheerful states? A new study reported at the Seattle PI tries to score the most happy to least stated in America.

Hmm, most of those bottom states look to be “Blue” don’t they.

Top 5:

5. Arizona

Bottom 5:
47. New Jersey
48. Indiana

Ace of Spades reminds us with a note that the Louisiana survey was done before Katrina. That makes sense as I was wondering how Louisiana could be topping the list.

Senator Tom Harkin (IA-D) Socialist Incrementalism, “Think of Health Care as a Starter Home”

Remember when health care reform was actually about health care reform?

Talk about incrementalism and a foot in the door. Iowa Senator referred to Obamacare as a “starter home,” not a mansion when trying to garner support for the government take over of health care.

Think of it as a starter home.
“What we are buying here is a modest home, not a mansion. What we are getting here is a starter home. It’s got a good foundation: 30 million Americans are covered.

Funny thing is Obamacare would started as a mega-mansion and then got scaled back to a starter home when so much there became so much opposition to the government take over of 1/6 of the US economy.

The fact of the matter is because so so compromise and pay offs were needed to get the necessary votes, the health care bill is nothing more than a piece of terrible legislation containing sweetheart deals.

Harkin’s comments regarding Obamacare being a starter home should frighten the hell out of every American. What does it mean? Democrats, Liberals and bout and paid for moderate Democrats look to gain even more control over your lives and the private insurance industry. Make no mistale about it, Democrats want a government run option and they eventutally want a “single payer health care system”.

“We may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we got to take back the Senate and we have to take back the House.” (Barack Hussein Obama)

There end goal is socialism.

Will Senate Obamacare Bill Survive Bart Stupak in the House … KILL THE BILL

Hmm … wonder what Stupak’s vote is now worth if he is looking to kill the bill? VP Joe Biden should be worried, may Obama will off Stupak the position in exchange for his vote.

Are there really any Statesman who will stand up and oppose a health care bill that every one knows is wrong and reforms nothing?

Will House Rep from Michigan, Bart Stupak, have the principles to stand up for the rights of the unborn and prevent federal tax payer $’s from funding abortion or will he have a price too?

Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson was supposed to be a statesman standing on principle against his party … that was until Nelson decided it was better to be a grifter and extort $’s at the expense of the other 49 states in the Union. Nelson also claims that the abortion language in the Senate bill is now ok, yet it is no where close to the verbiage in the Stupak amendment. Ben Nelson is nothing more than a bought and paid for political hack. Nelson, how does it feel to sell your soul and compromise your principles just so Reid and Obama can claim some form of victory. Say goodbye to DC, you are gone in 2012.

Democrat Bart Stupak said to The Politico that the Senate bill’s abortion position “unacceptable.”

Stupak’s continued opposition to the Senate plan, despite those conversations and intense pressure from the White House, suggests that reconciling it with the House bill may prove politically challenging.

The Senate language represented “a dramatic shift in federal policy,” said Stupak, adding that he remained hopeful that the differences could be resolved in conference. Nelson, though, said earlier Saturday that his support for the legislation was contingent on the abortion compromise remaining in it.

If it is true that Stupak is working with or with out Republicans to KILL THE BILL, one must ask the following question … with the payola for votes to Landrieu and Nelson … WHAT IS STUPAK’S VOTE WORTH TO BARACK OABMA?

EXIT QUESTION: Why isn’t every Senator asking for a Ben Nelson sweetheart Medicaid deal for their states? To not do so would be dereliction of their office. If a politician knows that he or she can save their state money, why are they not demanding Harry Reid provide the same to them?

Is it any wonder why so many Americans are against this health care bill.
