Jim DeMint’s Amendment to Ban Vote Buying (Bribes) with Earmarks Pork Fails 53 to 46

What a shock, Democrats in Senate vote against bribery and vote buying.

By a 53 to 46 vote, the Senate voted down Demint’s amendment that would have banned the practice of vote buying (cash for cloture) with the promise of pork barrel earmarks. Democrats will go into the 2010 and 2012 elections as the party of bribes, kickbacks and pork.

What is most interesting is that most all Republican amendment have failed along partisan Democrat party lines. However, the DeMint amendment managed to get 7 Democrats yea votes. And look who the seven Democrats were:

Bayh (D-IN)
Feingold (D-WI)
McCaskill (D-MO)
Merkley (D-OR)
Nelson (D-NE)
Warner (D-VA)
Webb (D-VA)

Virginia Democrat Senators Warner and Webb are in fear for their political lives after they saw what just happened in VA during the 2009 Governor’s elections where Republicans won by 20%+.  The Corn Husker kick back Ben Nelson actually had the audacity to vote yea after being the focal point of the reason why the amendment was offered in the first place. But alas the amendment only pertained to future bills, not Nelson’s cash for cloture vote.

And speaking of Ben Nelson, Hot Air provides us with some video of the Governor of Nebraska ripping Nelson a new one.

Of course the Republican backed amendment challenging the health care bill’s constitutionality also failed along a party line vote, 39-60.

Here’s Nebraska’s governor laying into him last night on Greta. When was the last time you saw a state official ripping one of his own senators for succeeding in getting a special federal favor for the state?

A challenge to the Senate health bill’s constitutionality failed on Wednesday afternoon in a party-line vote.

Sens. John Ensign (R-Nev.) and Orrin Hatch’s (R-Utah) point of order arguing that the Senate bill is unconstitutional under the Interstate Commerce Clause and Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution failed in a 39-60 vote.

The vote was the first in a series Wednesday afternoon as senators prepared to invoke cloture for final passage of the Senate’s health bill.

The White House pegged controversial designer Simon Doonan to oversee the Christmas decorations for the White House. Mr. Doonan, who is creative director of Barney’s New York has often caused a stir with his design choices. Like his naughty yuletide window display of Margaret Thatcher as a dowdy dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy. For this year’s White House, he didn’t disappoint.

Blue Dog Bolts the Dems for Minority Republican Party

Blue dog Democrat, Alabama US Representative Parker Griffith has switched from a Democrat to a Republican. Hmm … is this really an Epiphany by a Blue dog not to be a Pelosi lap dog or is it a rat scurrying off a sinking ship trying to save his political hide? This type of conversion might have provided one political cover in the past in the Republican party; however, Tea Party go’ers is a bit more skeptical. Just because you have an “R” at the end of your name does not make you a Republican. The 2010 midterm elections set up to be a Donkey roast.

American Airlines Flight 331 Crashes at Jamaica Airport; 40 Injured, None Dead

In the end … No Problem Mon … Thankfully!

An American Airlines Flight 331 from Miami to Jamaica slid off the runway and crashed upon landing in Jamaica.  44 people were injured and 4 seriously; however, according to all reports there were no deaths. Thank God!

B+ Eh? Barack Obama Hits All Time Low, Rasmussen Presidential Approval Index -21

Holy Cow Batman … So this is what Obama grades as a B+.

Hope & Change crashes and burns as America finds out that Obama is Business as Usual … Chicago-style business that is. Obama embraced and campaigned on changing the way business was done in Washington … LIAR!!!

Barack Obama, the President of “Hope & Change” finds himself at the end of 2009 with a -21 Rasmussen Presidential Approval Index rating. My how the mighty Obamamessiah has fallen. For the 34th polling day in a row and counting, Barack Hussein Obama  has a double digit negative rating. However, it gets worse … -21!!!

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 25% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-six percent (46%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That’s the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of men Strongly Disapprove along with 39% of women. Most African-American voters (58%) Strongly Approve while most white voters (53%) Strongly Disapprove.

Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republicans Strongly Disapprove as do 52% of unaffiliated voters. Forty-seven percent (47%) of Democrats Strongly Approve.

Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Could The Chloroform Belong To George?

Orlando, FL– I held out for George Anthony as the last hope to restore Caylee Anthony’s dignity in the beginning of this case.

When he visited OCSO on July 24, 2008, he was acting as Caylee’s JoJo, and not “Gelatinous George”.

I thought, ….maybe. I lost that bet. Whatever temporary empowerment Poppa Jo summoned to visit OCSO and retain famed Orlando attorney Mark Nejame outside of the Cindy tractor beam; George shed it like a snake.

Cash For Cloture … Dem Majority Leader Harry Reid Defends

Cash for Cloture, vote buying, political pay off …

Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid calls it business as usual.  So much for that Hope & Change promised by Barack Hussein Obama and the change he was going to bring to Washington and how things were done.

It would appear that Obama does not mind when his own party does things, business as usually. In fact, Obama most likely encourages the Chicago-style of vote buying politics.

“… and if they don’t have some thing in it important to them, then it doesn’t speak well of them.”

Did Harry Reid just say that if a Senator did not get a pay off for their vote, then shame on them? UNREAL. Reform? There is nothing about this bill that is reform, it is politics as usual … pork for politicians. What every happened to the intent of health care reform?

Remember when candidate Barack Hussein Obama said that he was going to change the way Washington, DC worked?

Barack Obama: “I believe that change does not happen from the top down, it happens from the bottom up. Dr. King understood that.”

Barack Obama: “Transparency and accountability, getting people involved that’s how we’re going to bring about change, that’s why I want to be President of the United States. To respect the power of the American people to bring about change”

We all know now that was political double talk.
