The GITMO Terrorists are Coming to America, lllinois – Thomson Correctional Center, Thanks to Barack Obama

Thank you Barack Obama … the GITMO terrorists, oh sorry detainees, are … COMING TO AMERICA.

The Gitmo detainees are headed to the Thomson Correctional Center in Illinois. What a coincidence that of all places that Obama send these hardened terrorists is to the state where he was a Senator. Hmm. Americans are overwhelmingly against the transfer of terrorists from Gitmo to US soil, 65% against, 30% for. Yet Obama once again ignores “We the People”.

The real question becomes, why would a US President take individuals who are enemy combatens and take them out of a military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and bring them to US soil and provide them the rights of US citizens?

WATCH THE TERRORISTS COMING TO AMERICA

Video Hat Tip: Klaas

In order to create jobs, Obama inflicts the worst of the worst prisoners on the citizens of the United States. All this done so that Obama can keep his promise to close GITMO, because as he says, GITMO is used as a recruiting tool for terrorists. What did Obama accomplish? He created GITMO North.

Does any one think that insane, hate-filled, terrorists who are hell bent on killing the infidels really need a tool for recruiting. Does Obama think the al-Qaida marketing department is worried in coming up with ideas to kill the Great Satan because Obama closes GITMO. How naive is this President. And just how dangerous?

What is the difference between GITMO and GITMO NORTH?

But we do know that many of the detainees remaining at Guantanamo Bay were captured as enemy combatants and are alleged to be dangerous and brutal killers.

When I first learned of the proposed transfer of these terrorists, I set out to clarify the security impact of moving Guantanamo Bay to the United States — not closing its operations but, instead, creating a “Gitmo North,” as many media organizations have coined it. My primary objective has always been to protect the people I represent.

… is that the vitriol now pointed toward Gitmo will transfer to the village of Thomson and this facility, creating a new magnet for terrorists’ activity and contributing to their recruiting rhetoric.

Is this man insane, ignorant or naive? Barack Hussein Obama thinks that closing a prison in Cuba is going to lesson the recruiting of al-Qaida. What? One would think it would embolden the terrorists as they made the “Great Satan” blink and react to them. Why wouldn’t this prison represent the same? Will these prisoners be held indefinitely? So after spending millions on the GITMO prison, the US government is going to look and purchase part of this Illinois State prison. More good use of tax payer dollars.

One of the larger questions is how do you put the genie back in the bottle once you allow some of these terrorists to be tried in civilian court? Why would not all that are on US soil be allowed the same rights? Wouldn’t that be cherry picking the civil rights of terrorists?

Why, why would any one bring these terrorists to American soil? Why don’t you give them there own reality show while you are at it? Hypocrite Illinois Senator Dick Durbin of course once voted against bringing these scum to America back in 2007.

The vote on July 19, 2007, was on a “sense of the Senate” resolution introduced by the Senate’s Republican leader, Mitch McConnell. It said Guantanamo detainees, including senior members of al-Qaida, “should not be released into American society, nor should they be transferred stateside into facilities in American communities and neighborhoods.”

Durbin voted yes, as did 93 others — including three who are now top Obama administration officials: Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar. Three senators voted no, and three, including then-Sen. Barack Obama, did not vote.

So what changed? This must be part of that Obama Hope and Change you can believe in.

Hasn’t all Obama done is provide a new target on American soil? That and provide terrorists with rights afforded to US citizens. What a colossal disaster.

As mentioned by Michelle Malkin, it’s the Gitmo Olympics – Illinois consultation prize from the big O. What a whacked out country.

oh well, at least it’s in illinois and not in my state. something stinks here like democrat corruption. terrorists, obama, illinois.

I’m not intimidated by these scum, and I doubt that anybody in that town is either.

It’s kinda time for Conservatives to grow a pair and quit trying to scare the populace. We are a helluvalot stronger than that.

Chicago politiks! Chicago is in Illinois and someone
is going to profit from the Prison money you can bet!
Giving civilian rights to foreign enemy combatants is
ridiculous at the least and psychotic at the extreme.
      Bad precedent!

#4—I’m not intimidated by these scum either—but I still don’t want them here.

This just makes absolutely no sense to me. Just another STUPID thing that Obama has approved, IMO.

Honestly—who the hell advises our President to make these decisions, Bo,The Portuguese Water Dog? What the *&%$?????? Where does he come up with this stuff? If the answer to that is—”on his own” then we have even bigger problems than I thought.

      StStephen: That is absolutely right.

Why are you scared of these people. They are just scum.
Not magicians that will jump out of prison after converting all inmates to violent muslims. I would bring them to an NY prison and see how the other inmates will treat em >X-)

If you want I fly over and punch one of them down. They are just crazed old idiots. What you are doing is spread a baseless panic and turn these people into heroes.

Let the system grind them down.

    9. TheOldWorld on December 18th, 2009 5:56 am

Be released into American society?? Do you think he will give em freedom and American citizenship???
      Are you *** ***** ******* ** ****** ** ***** crazy???

(I am not one for the big emotions but that statement was so unbelievably dumb, I couldn`t stop myself)
      ____________
SM: They are provided the rights of American citizens the minute they bring them on to US soil. This is the reason why they are put in GITMO.

Also, when they go to a civilian court they will be provided the same rights as any other American. You think that is crazy?

Do you even understand how American courts work?

This is why they were considered enemy combatants and to be tried in a military court.

There is no guarantee that these people will be convicted. Just say OJ. These terrorists were never arrested like a typical person in the US.

All evidence may not be allowed in. What is they are found not guilty? They would have to be released on to US soil. If not, they would have their rights violated.

This is what happens when you do some thing as stupid as Obama did.

      R

    10. TheOldWorld on December 18th, 2009 6:13 am

Actually, I would have tried to try these people on some international court. Not an American. You can of course keep the people you pulled from Iraq, but Afghanistan is an international war with international responsibilities.

It would be rather difficult to make this happen, since our politicians are rather spineless too, but it would be the right thing and would send the right message: “You attack one of us: We will collectively put you down.”

    11. Katablog.com on December 18th, 2009 8:59 am

St. Stephen: It has nothing to do with being afraid of terrorists. It has everything to do with the US Constitution and the rights afforded people in America. These terrorists should not have the right to use US Courts to proselytize their garbage while they attempt to force the US Government to reveal top secret material just to convict them. We all know they would make a farce out of any court hearing.

If they are not going to get hearings in US Courts, what is the difference between holding them in Illinois or Gitmo – other than a huge cost to US Taxpayers. Why put them on US soil? There is a prison at Gitmo that has already been built to house them very comfortably and securely.

    12. Scared Monkeys on December 18th, 2009 9:22 am

Actually St Stephen it is Barack Obama that is showing he is scared and reacting to the terrorists by claiming he is closing down GITMO because its a recruiting tool for al-Quada.

IDIOT! The fact that we infidels are breathing is a recruiting tool.

To pick up on #11′s point … in the USA a person is assumed innocent until proven guilty. There is no resumption and guarantee that a terrorist will be found guilty.

Also, there is a little thing in civilian courts called Discovery. It has to be provided to both the prosecution and the defense.

What if some of the evidence is so classified that it would give away secrets, CIA op names, etc that the prosecution says, we can’t afford the enemy to see this and therefore can not use it against this individual? Hmm?

This is the law of unintended consequences that this Joke in Chief has now inflicted upon the US.

You cannot discriminate against an individual’s rights. So what will now be the difference between an enemy combatant captured in Iran or Afghanistan that is tried in a military tribunal or a civilian court? The precedent has been now set by Obama.

      #7 –

Considering the repugnant healthcare bill, the immigration reform bill and the climategate debacle he is bowing to(again) with the Chinese in Copenhagen, your assessment that we have bigger problems than we thought is evidently correct…and all this in the first year, YET NO JOBS FOR AMERICANS!

Al Gore is cashing in on the cash cow of climate fraud with our tax dollars.

I guess I’m over ruled on the terror trials, but I thought they would be held in a military court, not a citizen court.

    18. Michelle Smith on December 18th, 2009 4:53 pm

#17 Terrorist should be tried in a military court but it’s not p.c. so the President wants to bring them to the U.S. and have them tried in civil court and afford them all the rights & privileges of our citizens. Gitmo was opened for a reason. To keep the terrorist prisoners & trials over there and not bring it on our soil.

Thanks Mr. President for bringing the terrorist to our Country to be treated as ordinary criminals instead of the monsters they are.

It’s absolutely despicable to say the least.

    19. St Stephen on December 18th, 2009 6:18 pm

In my humble opinion, these people declared war on the United States. Whether they are in Gitmo, Illinois or Timbuckto(sic), they are not entitled to a civilian trial.

They are entitled to a military trial as they are enemies of this country they declared war on. They did not snatch a purse off the streets from an elderly woman in some city, they plotted and attempted to kill US citizens and military personnel here and abroad. Nothing less than a military trial is appropriate.

      We gotta be

    20. Dolf on December 22nd, 2009 8:33 am

      lol@all of you

they are now on a US base but not US soil because the Bush admin wanted to do things that are unconstitutionaly on US soil.

USA Champion of human rights, unless we lock you up in gitmo, then you have no rights what so ever.

and how many of those prisoners are really guilty considering the error margings.

or do you think that a judge and jury are going to free them?

The prison on Gitmo, the shipping of prisoners to other countries for interrogation, the way how the Bush admin tried to make it all legal is the reason that the US has lost much respect in the free world.
      _________
SM: It was not Unconstitutional. Military Tribunals were set up for the exact purpose of dealing with enemy combatants.

Actually what Obama is doing might be unconstitutional.

      Dolf

You need to get informed. These prisoners are terrorist. They aren’t afforded the rights of regular citizens. The reason they were in Gitmo was to keep them off U.S. soil. That was the plan: Keep the war over there not bring it over here.

    22. Dolf on December 22nd, 2009 4:31 pm

Michelle, do you think the terrorists give a damn if gitmo is US soil or not, its a US base.

I am not talking about citizen rights, but about human rights (the ones that are so nicely in your constitution). Or are we going to be like them?
Some prisoners turned out to be innocent..good chances are that there are some more, they don’t get the chance to get their freedom back?

If they are found guilty, ship’m to Texas, heared that they have a deathpenalty expressline.

Red, you know Bush didn’t want them at any tribunal and if it may seem unconstitutional Obama might want to hire Bush his legal team, they are good at their job.

and Red, you didn’t miss the part where Obama gets so much respect…after the US election and the hype its back to bussiness as usual here.
Obama does get more credit then Bush, but thats not to hard.
