THE OLD WORLD: sounds like a cheap soap opera with an ugly leading lady named yoyo.
you two don’t get it. he let many die before he decided to make a decision. (on purpose). because he doesn’t have the mental capability to make a correct decision, pelosi and reid are his brain and he does what they tell him to do and he reads it from his teleprompter. you see, a foriegner isn’t capable of making a decision for America.

yoyo – I couldn’t agree more.
This is obviously a decision he didn’t like to make.
What is weak about it? He basicly said: Ok we’ll quell all the current fires, help you stand up, and then we’ll leave you to it.
This sends exactly the right message. It says: The country is yours, we are no oppressors. We will be gone in a few months. If you don’t want a civil war and find yourself strung up by the taliban, you better get your affairs in order. Thats what it tells the Afghans. I have to agree that supporting people who could turn out to be bigger thugs than the people you fight against is a bit troublesome. But not one of us can make that distinction. This must be entrusted to the government.

And seriously! What the hell did you expect?
Just going home and saying fuck you? Leaving the region to civil unrest that might explode and take pakistan right up with it?
Or going: Well you guys, I hope you like sand and lead, because you’re gonna eat a lot of it over the next 20 years of unresolved bloody conflict.
Or send 100thousand over? Would you be able to pay them?
Or even better invade pakistan?

Be reasonable, it helps understanding your president.
This speech was so uninspiring because he personally didn’t want to send more soldiers. It is the right thing to do and he has to do it, but he doesn’t like it and has problems with saber rattling, military inspiring talks. He is honest.
Every day a new quality discovered.

I guess everytime he wakes up he thinks about sueing Bush’s ass to oblivion.
Bush might have managed to f*** up not only his own charade of a presidency.

Before this gets the length of a health care bill, I better stop…

another fyi:

the Dutch troops should have been home in 2008.
They were supposed to be relieved by other NATO countries (Not US or UK).

They extended to 2010 because of lack of relieve……not 1 single other NATO country stepped up (not counting the ones that are active (except the French, f*** them)).

and fyi: he said we BEGIN getting out in june.

Dutch army expects to leave next year and thinks they need 6 months to complete the extraction.

well…there are a whole lot less Dutchies there then yanks.

yep, planning for a war with no military knowledge and no experience except for community service. not to mention that the enemy now knows his plans inside and out and his weakness for muslims and terrorists.
he’s grasping at straws no doubt and with the administration he has,only has their minds on the silly healthcare reform scam that will bankrupt our children for years to come and be the death of many.

tuny – Monday moring quarterbacks are a dime a dozen. “This time”, we put some thought into it – before going in half-cocked, guns blazing, with unrealistic expectations. Imagine that – planning before going to war. What a novel concept. It’s a good thing to think through a strategy, establish attainable goals, work through your execution, and finish what you started. This is what bugs me… that his campaign promise was to just get us out these wars and fix our problems here and BO he’s fudged on that rhetoric. If you are going to just leave anyway why not just give up now… I hope the real plan is to Bunker Bust some caves and hide outs with Al Qaeda soldiers and weapons. This training of Afghan troops and Police idea, is not that how we spawned Bin Laden to begin with?

Now in the back of my mind the reason for troop build up is that its good for the economy, and the companies and workers that manufacture all the products used by the military. There is also other hidden revenues and agendas in it all.

This whole Asia & Middle East thing is still just a ticking time bomb waiting to happen.

I didn’t watch/listen. By know I know what to expect from “the fabulous won”, which is not much. Several very good friends of mine are in military, AF and Army,both Officers. They have actually been at bases where the won has had speeches and it’s very hard for the top brass to even give tickets away for these events.

I had held out slight hope that Obama had ongoing negociations with Pakistan, with other countries for added support, or some need for a surprise deployment and logistics…as to his reason for such sad lengthy delay in providing 60 to 80k troops to Afganistan. But no, just more same ole over his head joke for a Commander in Chief Obama.

As a retired contractor, I ponder: Had I told an owner he/she needed 80k I-beams in new shopping center. ‘NO’! And I am to make do, covering the same grounds with 35k. How well does that work?

I felt this speech a tummy wrenching dark and humiliating comedy for history. Often I feel speeches are unfairly picked apart, using spare time to imply meaning not necessarily true. No one can speek without leaving fractures. Though this speech. this one — was “dithering” at speed. For anyone to defend the selfishness, denial, blame games of this inept fellow, right in the face of Westpoint cadets, while still running for office to the cameras…defense of the immaturity shares in Obama’s constant lack of responsibilty.

Do others ever wonder, if Obama is a full timer of ‘not responsible’, then who is? Give me that download, we payed more money for this one WHICH DOES NOT WORK. “WORK”
