Paul Michael Merhige, Suspect in Thanksgiving Day Murder in Jupiter, FL … 4 Relatives Dead Including 6 Year Old

Thanksgiving Day Massacre …

Three woman and a six year old child were murdered as they were shot to death at a Thanksgiving Day gathering in Jupiter, FL. According to reports, there were 17 relatives in the Jupiter residence when the shootings occurred. Paul Michael Merhige returned to the residence at 104 Via Veracruz in Jupiter, Fl at 10 pm Thanksgiving night and started shooting.

Police are looking for 35 year old Paul Michael Merhige of Miami as the suspect in the multiple murders. The man hunt is on for Merhige who is believed to be driving a 4-door blue 2007 Toyota Camry with Florida license plate W42 7JT. He is to be considered armed and dangerous. The shooting victims are being reported as Paul Michael Merhige’s twin sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, 33, his 76 year old aunt Raymonde Joseph and his 6 year old cousin Makayla Sitton.  Paul Michael Merhige shot the 6 year old while she was sleeping. Who shoots a sleeping, innocent 6 year old child?

Authorities said a fifth victim, Merhige’s brother-in-law Patrick Knight, was being treated at a hospital. His condition was not available. Another man, Clifford Gebara, 52, was grazed by a bullet and was treated by paramedics on the scene and released.

Police across South Florida and the U.S. Marshals Service were searching for Merhige. Pascarella said Merhige is believed to be driving a blue 2007 4-door Toyota Camry with Florida license plate W42 7JT.

As it turns out, Houben could hear everything that was going on around him and he was trapped in his own body with no way of communicating. Rom Houben now communicates via computerized messages.

But, in actuality, he was trapped in his own body the whole time with no way of letting friends and family know he could hear every word they were saying.

The 46-year-old, who can now tap out computerized messages and read books on a device above his hospital bed, has revealed: “I screamed, but there was nothing to hear.”

2010 Senate Races: Democrat Chris Dodd in Real Trouble in Connecticut Against Either Republican Simmons or Foley

With the 2010 midterm elections on the not too distance future, Democrats and Chris Dodd find them self in real trouble of losing in the Nutmeg State of Connecticut. In a recent Quinnipiac poll, incumbent Democrat Christopher Dodd finds himself trailing former CT Congressman Republican Rob Simmons 49% – 38%. Connecticut is beginning to resemble what took place in the NJ Governors race where voters went red for a Republican change.

How bad is it for Dodd who is looked upon by many as damaged goods  as Dodd is front and center  involved with the Countrywide mortgage sub-prime scandal? Yes, that would be the same Senator who is the head of the Senate Banking Committee. The poll shows that Dodd actually trails by 2% points to Linda McMahon. Yes, the same Linda McMahon who is the former WWE executive. Dodd finds himself with a 42%/49% favorable to unfavorable rating. My how the might have fallen.

Former Connecticut Congressman Rob Simmons has an early lead in the Republican primary race for the 2010 U.S. Senate contest and runs better than any other challenger against Sen. Christopher Dodd, topping the Democratic incumbent 49 – 38 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Former World Wrestling Entertainment executive Linda McMahon gets 43 percent to Sen. Dodd’s 41 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

Even potential Republican contenders with almost no name recognition and almost no Republican primary voter support give Dodd a run for his money.

Connecticut voters disapprove 54 – 40 percent of the job Dodd is doing, compared to a 49 – 43 percent disapproval September 17, and say 53 – 39 percent that he does not deserve reelection. 

The Real Clear Politics average polling data has Simmons with a 8.3% lead over Dodd; however, with only using the Quinnipiac and Rasmussen polling Simmons has a 10.5% lead. The way it looks now, with no good news coming down the pike with jobs, unemployment and mortgages and credit lending … it would appear that Democrats will lose Dodd’s Senate seat in 2010.

56% of Americans Say that Thanksgiving is One of the Most Important Holiday

Americans say that Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays.

A recent Rasmussen poll stated that 56% of Americans believe that Thanksgiving is one of the nation’s most important holidays. Most likely because it brings families together and reminds each of us to remember what we are thankful for and who to give thanks to.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of Americans view Thanksgiving as one of the nation’s most important holidays. That’s up three points from a year ago.

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds that just four percent (4%) think it’s one of the country’s least important holidays, while 40% say it’s somewhere in between.

Cooperating on combating H1N1 is one of the ways we are implementing my administration’s commitment to partnership in areas of mutual interest.

Maybe the Department of Health and Human Services could have taken care of their own citizens first in a better manner. Just a thought.

Does This White House Get Anything Right? Secret Service Says Couple (Michaele and Tareq Salahi) Crashed Obama State Dinner

Oops! The Secret Service is admitting that a couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, breached security at the White House during the Obama State Dinner. It is kind of hard to believe in this day and age in a post 9–11 world that anyone could get access like this to a President, First Lady and VP. I guess if this administration actually acted like there was a war on terror, maybe they might take security a little more serious. This White House just continues to lack an eye for the details. As American Power opines, can you imagine if this occurred under a Republican President how the MSM would be screaming for the near-catastrophic security lapse.

“Honored to be at the White House for the state dinner in honor of India with President Obama and our First Lady!” one of them wrote on their joint Facebook page at 9:08 p.m.

But a White House official said the couple were not invited to the dinner, not included on the official guest list and never seated at a table in the South Lawn tent.

A woman describing herself as a publicist for the Salahis denied that they were interlopers. Pressed for details, Mahogany Jones sent a statement saying simply: “The Salahis were honored to be a part of such a prestigious event. . . . They both had a wonderful time.”

As Jammie Wearing Fool points out, the story went on to say it appeared that the couple belonged at the event. The only thing that was left out was an air of entitlement. So if they were say GOP’ers or looked like Tea party goers then the Secret Service would have jumped in? What would some one look like who did not belong at this event, a God fearing, First & Second Amendment loving Republican?

The story goes on to say they “looked like they belonged” so I’m figuring they walked around with a chip on their shoulders, their noses up in the air and an angry look on their faces.

Exit Question: It was stated that they looked like they belonged … so was their profiling? I though we were not supposed to profile under Barack Hussein Obama!

Happy Thanksgiving 2009 from Scared Monkeys … Remember to Give Thanks

Scared Monkeys wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and reminds all today while you are with family and friends and enjoying your Thanksgiving meal to remember to give thanks. It is even more important to give thanks in trying and difficult times.

The following Thanksgiving proclamation comes from George Washington and was wrote in 1789.

Two things are self evident from Washington’s proclamation. One, no one writes like this any more and it is sad that we do not have any Statesmen that can. Two, so much for separation of Church and State. Our Founding Fathers had no problem thanking Almighty God for the blessings that were bestowed upon them. In fact, they felt it necessary to do so. Please remember what America had just been through and George Washington felt it necessary to give thanks to God for the birth of a new nation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to “recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”
