Michael Moore’s Movie “Capitalism” Tanks at Box Office … Blame it on Capitalism

File this one under the category of it couldn’t happen to a better person. Michael Moore’s latest pro-socialist.Commie movie, “Capitalism,” tanks at the box office. Define irony, a movie by Moore called “Capitalism” that is anti-capitalist that fails miserably due to true capitalism … the ability of “We the People” to determine what we want by voting with the wallets.

Michael_moore_LOSER

As Big Government points out, a movie that crashes capitalism in a capitalist country fails, go figure. More from Steve Mason.

The biggest disappointment of the weekend is Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (Overture). After a $57K per theatre average on 4 screens last weekend, the picture broke to a wider 962 locations with terrible results. The “documentary” only sold an estimated $1.3M in tickets to start the weekend, and it will finish at about $3.9M for a PTA of less than $4,000. That soft opening will almost certainly make Capitalism Moore’s weakest-grossing movie since 2002’s Bowling for Columbine ($21.5M domestic gross).

As the Gateway Pundit states, even after all the state run media publicity, it still tanked!

Just curious Mr. Moore, if you hate capitalism so much and you claim it is so evil, then why have you accepted the millions of dollars you have from the system of capitalism for your past movies? It couldn’t be because you are a hypocrite? If you are so anti-capitalist, why aren’t your movies and documentaries put on the Internet for free?

Michael Moore’s socialism allows for our elite controllers to get rich while we poor serfs become enslaved. The elite still operate under capitalist rules. Communist-style laws are for the masses. What city in the world has the most billionaires? Moscow.

      LOL

Moore is so over rated and his movies suck-so it figures! He is in desperate need of a shave & shower, a diet and a total makeover. Ugh. Can’t stand that Man, I’m sorry.

I just watched Michael Moore Hates America (2004)
by Michael Wilson. I was shocked to find out Moore cut and paste to make his movies from fact to fiction. Poor Charlton Heston, He used two different NRA meetings a year apart and spliced parts of two different speeches to say whatever he wanted.
Oh, You can not get the gun from the bank. He staged that for the film.. You had to have a background check, and pickup from a licensed gun dealer. Michael Moore got the bank to do this for him. He always gave a false title or reason for his fictional films. Moore did a MSNBC edit job and became a liar!

Moore makes good movies, as long as you remember that he doesn’t shy away from distortion of facts.

just like he accuses the other side off.
      ___________
SM: Cuz Moore never distorts the facts. He wouldn’t be able to make a movie if you help him to that standard.

I have not seen the movie… oddly though, a conservative critic gave the movie a good review last week…. Critic stated, that of his recent movies with political topics, this one isnt that bad. Maybe we should not judge the movie until seeing it.

    11. Jack Hammer on October 5th, 2009 8:18 am

Hey Just Bearly, you came to the wrong place if you want people to not judge things until seeing them.

    12. Dolf on October 5th, 2009 8:50 am

I “liked” bowling for columbine better then the healthcare thing

that trip to Cuba was just to cheap for words.

Get your facts straight! It was the 7th grossing film in only 900 theaters.

This website is testament to how conservatives live in a fantasy land. You are all a bunch of numb skulls who need a fact check! This has been one of the highest grossing documentaries in history.

“According to weekend estimates, Michael Moore’s “Capitalism: A Love Story”‘s limited debut this weekend has resulted in 2009’s highest per-theater-average. On four screens, the Overture Films released took in a massive $240,000, averaging $60,000. If that estimate holds, it will top March’s “Sunshine Cleaning” – also an Overture release that opened on four screens – which had a PTA of $54,798. ”

the truth is that everything a democrat says is a lie. ask obama and he will even lie to you, his own peasants.

    17. Rusty Bridges on October 5th, 2009 2:15 pm

#14, What will Moore do with all that profit? Just wondering.

    18. super dave on October 5th, 2009 3:34 pm

hopefully he will get some kind of fat reduction
surgery with his profits. that big ass head has
      got to be heavy.

    19. Jay on October 6th, 2009 7:01 am

At those saying “Capitalism” is a sucess, your the ones in fantasy land. You’re ranking the movie based only on the characteristics you want. Most documentaries fail because they are awful and full of lies. Being one of the crowd doesnt earn you a medal. Bottom line is that compared to normal movies it’s a total failure. Algore showed us Documentaries could at least be enticing (whether I agree or not), and just because Moore is too dumb to make a sucess doesnt mean he is good by comparison.

      LOL.

    20. NewGirlBoston on October 6th, 2009 11:26 am

#11- Jack Hammer—once again you are wrong.

Personally speaking, I’ve seen 1 or 2 of Moore’s movies and I still think he sucks. So that is not being judgemental, it is only my opinion. A huge waste of my time and my lousy 10.00 at the box office. He does edit his film profusely, and completely distorts facts to make the garbage he produces “interesting”. The only film that was half way decent was the very first one he did, and the name escapes me now.

You are so full of chit, Jack Hammer. lol Next thing you know you will be telling me I am a racist, judgemental, conservative, right Wing Christian or KKK member/Republican or some other BS like that. Whatever.

sad part is that both sides feed crap.

and NewGirl…10usd to go to a movie?
is cheap, we pay about 12eu

    23. super dave on October 7th, 2009 10:03 am

hey roy, wake up, you are taking it up the ass from your boy obama and you don’t even feel it.

    24. NewGirlBoston on October 7th, 2009 6:58 pm

#22-Dolf—For real, that’s what you get when you live in Europe. Everything is expensive over there! Inflation in America is not good either-but honestly—-instead of critisizing us so much- one of these days you make come to your senses and just move here.

For all the problems we may have- we are still the greatest Nation on earth and there is nowhere else I’d rather be…plus we don’t have to drop $35-50 for a movie & some popcorn ! We aren’t too far behind you though. It’s about 10.00 admission then another 10 or 15 at the concession stand!
