The Nut has Been Cracked: Senate Votes to Cut Off Federal Funding for ACORN

ACORN’s excellent adventure, this is going to leave a mark.

What a difference a week makes as a community of corruption is exposed.

The US Senate has voted to defund ACORN housing as The Johanns Amendment # 2355 to H.R. 3288 passed by a margin of 83 to 7. As stated at Michelle Malkin, “Johanns cited the BigGovernment.com sting videos as evidence that ACORN cannot be trusted with government money.”

Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) introduced an amendment to the HUD and Transportation appropriation bill to strip ACORN of all federal funding. As stated by Hot Air, a week ago this amendment wouldn’t have gotten the amendment to the floor. However, that was before BigGovernment.com released not one, not two, but three video exposing ACORN and their child prostitution supporting ways. Andrew Breitbart has also promised more.

Here are the seven Senators that are against an amendment that would punish an organization that is pro-child prostitution, whoring and pimping. NICE!

Do Police Have Suspect in Murdered Yale Student Annie Le … Lab Tech who Flunked Lie Detector Test

The police just might have a suspect in the murder of Annie Le.

A little more than a day after the grim discovery of Yale University student Annie Le’s body was found, police might just have a suspect. The police are focusing in on a lab tech who failed an FBI lie detector test and had reported scratches on his chest.

With so many cameras, badge access, a confined crime scene and bloody cloths with DNA, the clock is ticking on an arrest.

The employee works in the building where Le’s body was found Sunday stuffed in a wall – the same day she was to be wed.

The man has not been arrested, but is under surveillance, the sources said.

The technician has been questioned several times. The scratches on his chest indicate he was in a struggle, they said.

A New Haven police source said the bloody clothing found in Le’s lab on Saturday “does belong to the likely killer.”

Daily Commentary – Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 – Kanye West’s Faux Pas Disses Taylor Swift at MTV Video Music Awards

• The controversial rap star stole a once-in-a-lifetime moment from Taylor Swift.

It was a display of class, or lack there of, that we have become custom to with rapper Kanye West. As Taylor Swift was named the winner of “Best Female Video” at the MTV Music Awards, West did his best impersonation of a lowlife, thug, jackass and ruined the moment and acceptance speech by the Country singer, Taylor Swift. What class, telling a winner of an award that some one else should have won it.

The singer, Taylor Swift, 19, whose hit song You Belong with Me had just won the award for Best Female Video, stood motionless and open-mouthed as West jumped up from his front-row seat, grabbed the microphone from her, and said: “You Taylor, I’m really happy for you . . . but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

 

The rest of the audience, after a brief moment of stunned silence, began to boo the rapper.

Patrick Swayze Dies at Age 57 from Pancreatic Cancer … God Bless and Rest in Peace

Sad news from Los Angeles, CA as Patrick Swayze has passed away at the age of 57 after battling pancreatic cancer. Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early 2008 and despite battling the dreaded disease, Swayze went on to star in the A&E cop drama The Beast. Patrick Swayze has passed away. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa Niemi.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but declined to give further details.

The scandal surrounding the left-wing activist organization ACORN has spread to New York, with employees at its Brooklyn office caught on video helping supposed ladies of the night get loans for their dream houses of ill repute. Rather than reminding the women that prostitution is dangerous and illegal and advising them to change their careers, counselors at the social-services group shockingly offer suggestions on how they can launder their earnings.

ACORN has threatened to sue independent film maker James O’Keefe claiming that the video was doctored.  Doctored or edited, Acorn? I am sure that O’Keefe and media outlets were privy to all raw video. What does O’Keefe say with regards to law suit … BRING IT ON!!!

The independent filmmaker whose hidden-camera videos prompted the firing of four ACORN workers is demanding an apology from ACORN for calling his work a fabricated “scam” and daring the activist group to take legal action against him.

“Bring it on,” filmmaker James O’Keefe said Sunday on FOX News.

Just wondering  Acorn, what damages do you have seeing that you fired employees after the tapes surfaced?

BTW, ever heard of discovery? I am sure President Obama would really love you to pursue a lawsuit that would involve interrogatories and discovery.

UPDATE II: John Fund on Fox News says Bring it On, Too.

ACORN can try as they might, they are so busted and no leg to stand on. How could they possible sue and claim damages of doctored tapes when their actions of firing their employees speak volumes. If the tapes were doctored as they state, they would have defended their employees, not given them the axe.

UPDATE III: It is hard to believe that ACORN is actually thinking about bringing a law suit against FOX News. For what, airing a video? For what, actually reporting the news of a corrupt organization that was telling individuals how to launder money and you to go about putting together a business plan for child prostitution. Really? How is it that when one walks into an office and references child prostitution that it does not then evoke a response like get out of our office or a call to the police.

Facing intensifying scrutiny after the release of several disturbing hidden camera videos, the community organizing group, ACORN, is threatening to sue Fox News, the website Breitbart.com and the two conservative activists who produced the exposes.

How typical, huh Barack? ACORN caught dead to rights and they claim that the words and pictures of their own eployees are not real. This is what investigative journalism is all about. Do you think that the WAPO or NY Times would have got these threats of a law suit? Then again, these media outlets forgot long ago that investigative journalism knows no party affiliation. ACORN’s bad week continues.

Where is Missing Yale Medical Student Annie Le? (Update: Body Found Behind Wall of Science Building)

Where is missing Yale medical student Annie Le? The 24 year old Yale student went missing in New Haven, CT five days before she was supposed to be married.

Today should have been the day that Annie Le was married and that the only question on missing Annie Le’s mind was, “do you take this man, Jonathan Widawsky, to be your husband.” Instead there are nothing but questions as to where is the missing Yale medical student, Annie Le and a wedding canceled.

Cantor Sandra Sherry, who would have presided over today’s ceremony, immediately feared foul play, saying Le, 24, would never skip out on her wedding day.

“I never thought that it was anything like ‘cold feet,’” said Sherry, of Temple Beth El in Huntington, L.I.

Video surveillance tape had shown that Annie Le walked into the science building, yet there was never any footage of the missing 24 year old medical student leaving. One would suspect that possibly she never did leave. Is it possible that the crime occurred in the building and missing Annie Le is still there? Bloody clothes were found in the science building; however, they were not those of Annie Le’s. The video of Le walking into the building would have obviously shown what she was wearing the day she went missing. So whose were they, the potential suspect’s in this case?

The search for Annie Le had even extended to Hartford, CT where investigators sifting through trash at a Hartford incinerator Sunday morning.

UPDATE I: Police are reporting that a body has been found in the Yale Science building hidden in a wall. There has been no positive ID; however, who else could it possible be but that of missing Annie Le.
