Wyatt Smitsky, Rest in Peace

Sadly, Wyatt Smitsky’s body was found stuffed in a septic tank of a neighboring property yesterday by police. The septic tank lies along a fence line separating the Smitsky home from a neighbor’s property. What on earth. Police have a suspect in custody. State police obtained a search warrant yesterday morning in which the father John Smitsky was named as a suspect.

John Smitsky Jr. of Greene, the father of 4-year-old Wyatt Thomas Smitsky, was taken into custody shortly after his son’s body was found, police said.

Re #1: How sick and perverted must one be to draw some petty personal online grudge into a discussion of this horrendous act?

I grew up with this family, attended high school together !

Will this case turn out to be another parent that is a sociopath and possibly a drug addict that could not handle the responsibilities of child rearing?
If the body was in the septic tank for only a day or two, forensics should be able to determine the cause of death. As nasty a place as a septic tank is, it will provide some protection to a body for a short while.
I hope the child was deceased when placed in the tank. GOD will take care of the little ones.

shame on you people listening to news like it’s a damn bible. the media can make a story however they want and does not need to be true, everyone knows that. and they absolutely love making bad guys in cases like this one. i know John and he loved Wyatt more than anything, he’s been hit hard by his son’s death. the thought of just losing a child… and then they got people like you accusing them of killing their own flesh and blood? and just cause they state that they someone is a suspect or that they are “treating” it as a homicide, you don’t need to already prosecute them. why are you all so ready to judge people that you don’t even know? people like that makes me sick honestly. i personally think that it should be a crime having a collection of peoples’ murders or deaths on websites. that’s gross and depressing. i know society is going in a shit hole but you don’t need to help the process.
