• Toyota recently revealed a new invention that would incorporate a breathalyzer and digital camera to detect alcohol use as a standard feature in cars.

   I think I have to disagree with you on this one. Who needs dashboard cam invading their privacy?

   I would never buy such a vehicle.

   I believe that people are innocent until proven guilty. I am against drunk driving; however, never should such a restrictive item be put on a vehicle when a person has caused no crime.

   I believe 100% that if some one was ever convicted of drunk driving, such a device should be mandatory for the rest of their life.

   You cannot regulate foolish behavior. So we target alcohol because that has become to new en vogue thing to do. What about pot? Will some body stoned by able to drive? How about someone high on prescription drugs?

   Oh and BTW, who calibrates the Breathalyzer? Like those never fail and how often do the police have to do this as procedure so that defense atty’s do not get their clients off on technicalities?

   As part of one’s probation, YES! As part of every day life, NO!

   I can just see the first time that someone has to rush someone to the hospital who is dying and blows a .09, instead of .08 and the person dies.

   How long will it be before the sell, “breath in a can”?

   I bet if we make the punishment 5 years in jail for a first offense, 20 years for a second and life for a third that would stop drunk driving.

   I just believe that all should not suffer for the actions of a few.

   Any technology like this should be mandatory for DUI offenders.
