After 34 years in prison, Charles Manson cult follower Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme is scheduled to to released from prison. Lynette Fromme was convicted in 1975 of pointing a gun at then President Gerald Ford in Sacramento, California. Fromme was sentenced to life in prison, but parole was an option at the time. If one can attempt to murder a President, any President, and get parole when given a life sentence, it makes one question the entire parole process.
She said it never occurred to her that she could wind up in prison. Asked whether she had any regrets, Fromme said, “No. No, I don’t. I feel it was fate.” However, she said she thought that her incarceration was “unnecessary” and that she couldn’t see herself repeating her offense.
Some criminals should never be paroled for the crimes they commit. It is called a deterrent.

She didn’t attempt to murder the President, she pointed a gun at him with no bullet in the chamber. She deliberately didn’t try to kill him.
      __________
SM: You are an idiot. I wonder what you would do or feel if some one pointed a gun at you, loaded or unloaded? How would you know?

If anyone pointed a gun at me or my family, they would be taken out immediately. No one had any time to ask whether it was or not.

Yea, let’s let people out of bank crimes who branish unloaded guns. Its the intent.

How many people would be saying give her parole if it were Obama she did this to? I don’t care who the president is, they should be locked away for life for such an action, PERIOD!

Yeah, but literally she didn’t try to murder anyone. She made a point, she may have been stupid, but stupid don’t deserve life without parole. Stupid maybe needs three or four years in jail. So what did she do to Ford, precisely? Pointed a gun at him. Gave him a fright. Big deal.

Squeaky has been used by “the man” for decades. When she was a little girl she was in a song and dance group called the Lariets who actually were on the Lawrence Welk show and performed at the Whit House. She was brainwashed to be completely devoted to Charlie M. and she still is. What they will trigger her to do next is anyone’s guess.

Geeez, I wonder if she got over that obsession of assinating presidents. If not, double the protection for Obama, we can’t afford the idiot, Biden.

The idea of probation after a period of incarceration was to allow the person a time of getting back into society. This worked for a time in the early part of the 20th century.
Beginning sometime aroud the mid 1950′s this method began to fail with all who did not have a strong family tie where good values existed.
Our Criminal Justic System is presently overwhelmed with a large group of criminals caused by the breakdown of family in the lower income population. Every state needs to revisit their law relating to probation and in particular the fact that junivile systems do not work for people over twelve years of age.
We need to stop hiding the crimes of juniviles from the puplic. These could be mitigated somewhat if the community were informed in a timely manner.
Basically probation is an unsuccesful program that should be elminated.
