After all these years, could the moon landing have been a fake? Some conspiracy, tin foil hat types seem to think so. 40 years after the Apollo moon landing some seem to think that the greatest technological accomplishment of the 20th century was a fake.
“I do know the moon landings were faked,” said crusading filmmaker Bart Sibrel, whose aggressive interview tactics once provoked Aldrin to punch him in the face. “I’d bet my life on it.”
I so enjoy talking about the lunar landing being a fake, not because I believe in it, but because any time I can use the below footage of 72 year old Buzz Aldrin pasting Bart Sibrel in the mouth … its a good day.
So what are some of the conspiracy theorists saying? They certainly have creative minds. If the plot sounds familiar to anyone, it should. It is almost the exact story line of the 1978 movie, Capricorn One.
Arturo Gatti Autopsy Indicates He May have Committed Suicide, Been Accidentally Killed or Murdered
Talk about your non-committal autopsy!
The autopsy of former boxing champion Arturo Gatti indicates that could have committed 
suicide, been accidentally killed or murdered, according to Jornal do Comercio newspaper on Saturday. This is a kin to the weather man saying that it is going to be sunny, or maybe rainy, or maybe overcast with a chance of snow. This autopsey might have created more questions than answered them.
The 37 year old Arturo Gatti was found dead in his hotel room in at the seaside resort of Porto de Galinhas, Brazil.
The autopsy report said that “murder or accidental death” could not be ruled out; however, there was no explanation for “accidental death.” Paula Cysneiros, the spokeswoman for the medical examiners office would not confirm the newspaper’s report.

Jornal do Comercio said it obtained a copy of the coroner’s initial findings.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation: Five bodies found in Lincoln County, TN … TBI has Suspect in Custody … Suspect Jacob Lee Shafer
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has discovered 5 bodies Saturday morning in two different houses in Lincoln County, TN. According to reports, some of the victims were related. TBI does have a suspect in custody in the slayings of five people in southern Tennessee.

FAYETTEVILLE, Tennessee – A suspect is in custody in the slayings of five people in southern Tennessee, officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said.
Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder stated that his department is investigating three crime scenes involving five or more victims. The victims’ names have not been released or that of the suspect. Sheriff Blackwelder would also not confirm the causes of death.
UPDATE I: The Tennessean is reporting that there is a 6th victim in Huntsville, Al.
UPDATE II: According to CNN, Suspect identified as Jacob Lee Shafer, who faces murder charges
Jacob Lee Shafer has been questioned by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and faces charges of murder in the deaths of five people in Tennessee and one person in Alabama, said TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm.
WFSA is reporting that Jacob Lee Shafer has confessed to the killings.
UPDATE III: Jacob Lee Shafer charged with with five counts of homicide for the Tennessee deaths and faced an additional count in Alabama.
30 year old Jacob Lee Shafer was charged with 5 counts of homicide for the deaths that took place in Tennessee and one additional count of homicide for the death in Alabama. Police say that Shafer was sitting on his porch when authorities arrived to arrest him. Shafer’s victims consisted of four adults and two juveniles; however, their names have yet to be released.
Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder said at a news conference that his department is investigating three crime scenes, though he did not elaborate. He did not release the victims’ names and would not confirm the causes of death in what he called “horrendous” killings and “one of the worst crimes Lincoln County has seen.”
Helm said the Tennessee victims were killed Friday night or early Saturday. Shaffer was sitting on the porch of one of the Fayetteville houses when authorities first arrived Saturday.

All too often we are covering a crime or missing persons case aboard a cruise ship where someone has fallen overboard like HERE, HERE and HERE. Or when individuals are possibly pushed overboard or a mysterious death like George Smith on the high seas with no suspects ever arrested. However, that was not the case of murdered 55 year old Shirley McGill. It would appear that Robert McGill has all but confessed to the crime:

Robert McGill killed his wife aboard the Cruise ship Carnival Elation as they celebrated Robert McGills 55th birthday. What a way to spend one’s birthday and the last Robert McGill will ever be partaking in as a free man. According to the San Diego Tribune, Robert McGill confessed to federal agents that he killed his wife.

Luckily no one was home at the time of the accident. Home owners were unavailable for comment as to whether they liked ketchup, mustard or relish on their dogs.

Police say the driver was trying to turn the Wienermobile around in the driveway and thought she was moving in reverse. But she instead went forward and hit the home. It sat in the driveway as if it were stuck in the garage Friday afternoon.

Casey Anthony defense attorney, Jose Baez, has filed a motion for a protective order that 
bars privileged testimony of Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla, Tony Padilla, Tracy McLaughlin and Robert Dick. Padilla and his nephew posted a $500,000 bond to bail Casey out of jail last summer. Baez’s latest efforts in preventing Leonard Padilla and his employees from acting as witnesses for the State of Florida against Casey Anthony makes one wonder what is Baez afraid of? How much did his client Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her daughter Caylee, say infront of Padilla and company?
Baez argues that Padilla and his employees were working for him at the time so their statements made to the police about what they heard from Anthony are privileged and should not be released to the public. He also says that attorney-client privilege should ban Padilla and his employees from being witnesses for the state.

Walter Cronkite, The Most Trusted Man in America and TV Journalist Icon Dies at the Age of 92
And that’s the way it is … Walter Cronkite, the day the anchor news man died.
Walter Cronkite, an American journalist icon, the anchorman of CBS News, the voice of a 
generation of new and the one “most trusted man in America” has passed away at the age of 92 in New York. Sadly, Walter Cronkite has passed away after an extended battle with cerebrovascular disease. There will never be and never had been another news anchor like Walter Cronkite. Rest in Peace.
Tonight, a piece of my childhood died. Before 24–7 cable news, before networks had such a bias agenda, there was Walter Cronkite. He anchored the CBS Evening news for 19 years from 1962 to 1981. In a much less media centric time and place where one always made it a point to be in front of the TV to tune into the nightly news, Walter Cronkite was far and away the best anchor and the first that ever was. Walter Cronkite, who personified television journalism for more than a generation as anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News,” has died. CBS vice president Linda Mason says Cronkite died at 7:42 p.m. Friday with his family by his side at his home in New York after a long illness. He was 92.
CNN: Walter Cronkite, the CBS anchorman known as “Uncle Walter” for his easygoing, measured delivery and “the most trusted man in America” for his rectitude and gravitas.

Adrian Gilliam Jr Arrested in Connection with the Murder of ex-TN Titan QB Steve McNair (Felon in Possession of a Firearm)
Convicted ex-felon arrested in connection with Steve McNair homicide.
33 year old Adrian Gilliam Jr has been arrested in connection with the murder of former Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair. Adrian Gilliam has been accused of selling the gun used by Sahel Kazemi in the murder of Steve McNair. Gilliam was arrested by the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco and is facing federal charges of being a convicted felon in the possession of a firearm.

“This is another example of what can happen with a gun when a felon is selling it on the street with little to no interest other than just selling it for 100 bucks,” said Nashville, Tennessee, Police Chief Ronal Serpas.
Authorities said federal agents traced the gun used in the Fourth of July murder-suicide to Household Pawn in Nashville, which sold it in January 2002.
Byrd and Melanie Billings Funeral: Couple Laid to Rest as Double Murder Investigation Continues … Rest in Peace
Byrd and Melanie Billings, the Florida couple known for their compassion for adopting 13 special needs children will be laid to rest today. The couple was murdered last Thursday in a double homicide, home invasion robbery. Let us not forget in all of the news dominated by the horrific crime against Byrd and Melanie Billings, which these people were inspirations and heroes. The compassion and caring that these two showed in opening their home and hearts to special needs children is never to be forgotten.

According to the BBC, a fatal bombing has occurred this morning in the Indonesian capital Jakarta at the Ritz-Carlton. It is being reported that 9 people have been killed including the suicide bomber.
At least nine people have been killed, including a suspected suicide bomber, in two blasts at luxury hotels in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
