Oprah Winfrey Admits it Ain’t Fun Being Green … It’s Great to Have a Private Jet

We give OPRAH an A for honesty.

At a graduation speech at Duke University Oprah Winfey talked about the secret joys of success. Among those joys … owning a mansion and private jet.

“It’s great to have a nice home. It’s great to have nice homes! It’s great to have a nice home that just escaped the fire in Santa Barbara,” she told the students. “It’s great to have a private jet. Anyone that tells you that having your own private jet isn’t great is lying to you.”

She went on to explain that “you haven’t completed the circle of success until you help someone else move to a higher ground and get to a better place.”

Thank you Oprah. Although I disagree on numerous issues with the mega-media giant at least Oprah called it for what it was and did not hide behind liberal guilt that she is rich. She did not pretend as most rich people do today, especially the rich politicians, that they do not need or want the luxuries in life. However, they tell you, “We the People” that we should do without.

The golden nugget here is the jet part. In these times of hair-shirt capitalism and envy politics, the wealthy have been going to great lengths to pretend they don’t enjoy luxury or want nice stuff. If Oprah were like most of the faux-populist rich today, she would have said something like, “I don’t need private jets, in fact I’m happier flying commercial and living in a small house. I like the simple life.” Of course, she would be lying.

However, what would Al “it’s not easy being green” Gore say regarding Oprah’s comment, “It’s great to have a private jet?” That hardly seems “green”. Is Oprah contributing to global warming? Oh that’s right, Al Gore has a private jet of his own and is the self-proclaimed role model of green.

Since some scientists have said global warming is caused in part because of obese people; getting rid of Oprah Winfrey would save millions of lives…just saying, according to global warming suckers!

I agree with the author of the article…

      Oprah made the right call.

I fail to see the logic of giving attention to anyone who decribes Barack Obama as being ‘brilliant’.

Obamam didn’t sound very brilliant as the telepromter got ahead of him.

An actor without a script is ‘brilliant’.

      Bravo Oprah!
