Miss California Carrie Prejean Gay Marriage Comment Controversy … Perez Hilton Calls Contestant a “dumb b*tch What Every Happened to World Peace?

What ever happened to the contest question about world peace?

In most competitions we never remember who came in second. That cannot be said about this year’s Miss USA contest where the second place contestant, Miss California Carrie Prejean, has received all of the media attention while winner Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton is hardly mentioned.

Miss California Carrie Prejean

Miss California Carrie Prejean

The reason for the uproar? Because Miss California Carrie Prejean actually gave an honest and truthful question to a “gotcha” question from blogger Perez Hilton regarding gay marriage. My first question is to the Miss USA pageant as to how an openly gay blogger, Perez Hilton, got a question pre-approved by Miss USA that would put a contestant on the hot seat like this?

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Miss California, Carrie Prejean answered the tough question in a truthful and honest manner. Something which politicians do do even attempt.

I have never had an issue with blogger Perez Hilton, until now. I actually thought much of his stuff was amusing even though what he covers I could pretty much care less, until now. No one has to agree with gay marriage to successfully answer the question. If one answers a contest question in an insightful and respectful manner, the position they take should be irrelevant. If such a position is an issue with a judge, then maybe they should not be a judge. If the Miss USA contest has no issue with this then they have a flawed event with judges that have preconceived biases.

Perez Hilton calls Carrie Prejean a “dumb b*tch”, yet hates being called names himself. There is some rational LEFT liberal thinking. BTW, does he think Obama is a “dumb b*tch” as well seeing that he thinks marriage is between a man and a woman as well?

Perez Hilton response below the fold:

Perez Hilton’s response is “She is a “dumb b*tch.” Classy

Miss USA might want to think about having judges for their contest that are not more concerned with their own self promotion than being a judge. Miss USA might also want to rethink what the hell they are trying to promote, PC’ism or a strong willed and charactered individual who is willing to take a stand and say what they believe in. It would appear that Miss USA stands for PC pack mentality. Instead, they pander to the intolerant LEFT.

Once again Perez Hilton is just one more representation of the tolerant liberal LEFT. Here is a man that has a cause and wants to be respected for it, yet has no problem with calling a woman a dumb “bi#ch”. People are allowed to have a differing point of view. So what questions are next at Miss USA … do you support the Iraq war, did you go to a Tea Party and did you vote for Barack Obama?

Oh and by the way, just yet another reminder … when the audience booed Miss California and Perez went on his tiraid as pointed out by Michelle Malkin, Barack Obama believes marriage is the union between a man and a woman.

Miss California: My Sister Is A Gay Rights Activist

Her opinions on same-sex marriage may have cost Miss California the Miss USA crown on Sunday night – but in an interview with Billy Bush for “The Billy Bush Show” and Access Hollywood on Monday morning, Carrie Prejean revealed that her sister is a gay rights activist.

Perez Hilton is a left wing radical and hates President Barack Obama’s policies and should be jailed.

I don’t care what gays stick in their orifaces to validate themselves, but don’t drag us into it.

Good for this young women to speak how she feels, that’s what the USA is about.

YES, she gave a good answer. It was from her heart and she spoke her mind as FREE SPEECH is her right as an AMERICAN not a Butchman!

Makes Carrie all the more attractive to me. I would never have noticed her until this statement of hers. A statement solicited, with a dare…assuming the question holder should accept the risks.

I do notice how much more beautiful and desireable Carrie looks to me, having this glimpse to her thoughts. Afterall, isn’t the most drawing charateristic of a female, that of her potencial ability as a mother? Ahh, her answer was? To me anyway. I think she is marvelous…from voice to the obvious.

It may have cost her the Title, but she won so much more.

Another reason to not support the Miss USA pageant.

Why is a gay male judging a woman’s pageant? Do they think he would be unbiased?

Being from California and enduring the Proposition 8 madness, I think this question would not have been asked to another State’s representative. In his blog he seems to put a feather in his cap, or hair, or somewhere else.

If anyone is a dumb b#tch, it is he, him, whatever. I never knew of this person nor have seen him before, but I can sure understand the attraction from other gay men by the size of his mouth.

Hurrah for Carrie Prejean! Thank God there are still young people out there with morals and values. I am SO proud of her for standing up for her beliefs. Every state should hope to have such a strong young woman to represent them. BOO to Perez Hilton! He showed us all that he’s only interested in equality and tolerance for gays and not ALL Americans! If you agree with him you’re a wonderful human being. If you dare to have your own opinion and disagree with him, you’re a “stupid b*tch”. Thankfully he opened his big, bigoted, mouth and set his cause another step backwards. Marriage IS between a man and a woman and anything else is an abomination.

Perez is a waste of skin.

He needs to go strap on his little magic helmet
wally on go ride the pride float some more and
work all that snarkyness out of his system.

    14. casdon on April 21st, 2009 10:26 am

What he wanted a politically correct answer?, and why was he there in the first place?, a gay man judging a WOMEN Beauty contest?? is Miss USA THAT DESPERATE. I wonder what his feeling would be like if a straight man was a judge in Lesbain (sp) beauty contest??, Shw answered the question honestly and she should be applaused for it, not condemened, And he calls her a dumb b@tch. a no talent hack.

    15. Amanda on April 21st, 2009 10:29 am

Even though her answer was not as eloquent as it could have been how can she be slighted for answering an OPINION question?! It’s her belief and her opinion. How MISS USA is it for Perez to then throw a fit about it and say that her answer wasn’t PC and call her a dumb B? That is not the kind of judge I would want to represent my event. I didn’t realize that was her job to be PC. And since when is Miss California stating what 52% of other Californians (via the last vote to deny gay marraige) not speaking to represent the majority? And being a MISS USA to represent ‘ALL’ people as they have said she needs to do. Sounds like she does have the same opinion about the matter as the majority.

    16. rightknight on April 21st, 2009 10:47 am

Nature/nurture, by birth or by choice this male/female
is the epitome of style that doesn’t bode well for the
homosexual public image. Like Obama, his choice of
social intercourse (questioning) attempts to redirect
attention from the contest itself to his personal struggle.
How this bundle of joy rates a judgeship on this panel
      is beyond reason.

      Please pass the lipstick!

    17. Parasite Hilton on April 21st, 2009 10:52 am

Gay marriage is not the major civil rights issue as many would like to make it to be. First why is only recently that it became a gay activist cause-celebre? Funny once the marriage tax penalty was removed, suddenly gays were being oppressed by not being able to marry. Was the oppression so bad that paying a few more in taxes made it too inconvenient to bother with? This all smacks of a highly orchestrated politics rather than an important rights issue. I do think there is a equal protection under the law issue that needs to be addressed but I do not think that the government needs to redefine marriage to satisfy this legal oversight. Marriage has been around for an awfully long time perhaps well beyond recorded history and I have never seen it referred to as gender optional. Why should we expect our government to be forced to change that in a historical eye blink because Perez Hilton thinks so?

Question, since booing seems to validate Mr. Hilton’s position, would there have been booing if she had answered it the other way? What if it was even louder? Would it still have cost her the title? I am not sure but there would have been booing. There is no question about that. That was an unfair polarizing question that he asked for his own political reason. He is the one that should be sanctioned.

    18. Michelle Smith on April 21st, 2009 11:00 am

Somebody should take him out behind the barn and give him a good country ass whoopin’ Personally, I don’t give two cents what the man does in his personal life but I do have a problem with gays thinking we are supposed approve of their same sex relationships. NO, we don’t. They can do whatever they want but that doesn’t mean we have to agree with or like it. I think he should never be allowed to Judge another Miss USA pageant. He should never have been allowed to judge this one nor ask a loaded question like that. She gave an honest answer and then he gets his panties in a wad over it. Well boo hoo Perez Hilton, go cry somewhere else. What a piece of work this guy is. He probably palls around with Rosie O’Donell & Kathy Griffin. YUCK!

    19. FL on April 21st, 2009 11:17 am

Kudos for Carrie! So in Perez opinion she is stupid because she does not like same sex marriage? Why on earth did they let him “interview” (as a gay) this lady? How can she give a “wrong answer” if she gave her own opinion and as a Christian? I am not sure, but so far I know also the majority is against same sex marriage so she is not alone.

    20. California girl on April 21st, 2009 11:19 am

Yes, I am so prowed of Miss California.. I am even more prowed she was here in California.. She stood up for what was right. Even though she new that it might bring ridicule. Our Four Fathers would have been so disappointed in some of our choices here today.. To Mr.Hilton Using foul language is definitely not the way to get your point across. It’s just being lazy and loosing your temper.. You got to have your opinion. Why can’t Carrie have her’s? I pray that one day we will all wake up. Our country is going down the whole. Like Carrie Prejean I am am just a young person in this land. You know it’s sad that even some of us yongsters have more sense and boldness in this world than some of our people here in the world. What happend to just plain common sense?

    21. yoyo muffintop on April 21st, 2009 11:23 am

Regardless of her personal beliefs, Prejean’s response was indeed dumb:

“I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage.”

Unless you live in one of four states, there is no choice. There is only, as she so descriptively puts it, “opposite marriage.” Her ignorance of this fact suggests she isn’t well read on current events, never mind civil rights.
Her notion that “it’s how she was raised” is a feeble attempt at letting herself off the hook for her bigotry. If she was “just raised hating African Americans”, as many racists are, would that be acceptable too? She believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman because that’s the way she was raised. Doesn’t she have a mind of her own?
Oh, wait…she’s a contestant in a beauty pageant. My bad.

And quite frankly – I want my blonde, 10 body/7 face, overtanned swimsuit models to at least pretend to be smart…

    22. William Grayson on April 21st, 2009 11:34 am

Thank you Carrie for speaking what you feel! That`s just one of our problems in this country today.Groups like this will continue to force themselves upon us unless we speak up.Marriage should be between a man and a woman only! Thanks again Carrie and YOU ARE The WINNER because you stood up for what you believe in!!

    23. Bella on April 21st, 2009 11:36 am

As we all know, WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO OUR OPINION. That we know, BUT…. being in the public eye, on national TV, running for Miss America, representing California, SHE SHOULD HAVE VOICED HER OPINION IN A MUCH MORE GRACIOUS AND RESPECTFUL WAY! Many side with her and believe that marriage is for only a man and women, myself included. But again, I would never had said it the way she did.
I wasn’t offended or surprised with her believe in marriage but rather in the way she expressed it. She is a beautiful women but at that moment she sounded so childish, immature and uneducated. I think someone should have worried more about coaching her public speaking more rather than just her walk.

    24. A Texas Grandfather on April 21st, 2009 11:36 am

I really feel sorry for the young women competing in this pagent. They have been taken advantage of by a homosexual bigot.
Long before recorded history it was determined that marriage was a good and noble thing for the advancement of mankind and it was put in the mores as a union between a man and a woman not two men or two women.
Carrie Prejean gave a very good answer to a question that should never been a part of a beauty pagent for young women.
The sponsors of this pagent should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a known loudmouth bigot be a part of the judges panel. If I were such a sponsor, I would be demanding that my money be returned.

    25. yoyo muffintop on April 21st, 2009 11:44 am

Miss California: “But I thought it was a great question, its a very hot topic right now and was totally appropriate.”

Looks like the “unfair question” hysteria by the rightwing is unfounded…once again.

    26. scott on April 21st, 2009 12:13 pm

yoyo – figures you would take Perez Hilton’s side instead of a beautiful hot chick who answered it the way she wanted to answer it as it is her right.

I’m beginning to figure out that you are some pimpled face geek sitting in the basement of your lesbian mother’s house; wondering why you couldn’t even get the heinous of pigs to give you some.

      What a toolbox!

    27. samantha on April 21st, 2009 12:56 pm

There you have it folks. Miss USA will always be chosen on political and religious viewpoints. Forget the talent and beauty portion of the show. I applaud Carrie Prejean for standing firm to her opinion no matter what the cost. It is no longer popular being a Christian in America. This country has largely lost its moral compass. To Carrie Prejean, I say thank you and God bless you. I found your courage inspirational. America needs more people like you. It’s Perez Hilton who made a fool of himself going on an emotional tirade on the Internet and slandering her name until he was blue in the face.

    28. Blake on April 21st, 2009 1:18 pm

Good for Carrie Prejean who gave an honest and truthful answer to such a pathetic question!

I say the government and the political arena should get it big fat nose out of God’s business. Our government has no business telling what churches should believe.

God loves you and died for your’s and my sins. Homosexuality is adultery which is sin. Duh!

    29. worldmouth on April 21st, 2009 1:22 pm

What is the relevance of the question if that perez was thinking already of the supposed answer? It’s the question and answer portion and not a test paper where you get to choose A, B or C. He asked what she thinks and that what he got.
two thumbs up for an honest answer, just like gay or lesbians, we all have different point of views what matters is that we respect each other. perez sucks in what he does by wanting people think the same thing he has in mind. conceited people do not like to be corrected. He just got alot of insecurities in his body.

    30. Rosalee on April 21st, 2009 1:41 pm

I’m glad she spoke the truth and I’m proud of her for it. America needs to get back to its’ morals and right way of thinking rather than seeing so much of leftists and there views and ways of thinking. There’s a LOT wrong with that picture.

    31. Rosalee on April 21st, 2009 1:44 pm

This women may be a blond, she probably isn’t racist and she’s a Christian! Brtavo for her!!

    32. Ray on April 21st, 2009 2:03 pm

      “yoyo muffintop”??? What is that?

“Looks like the ‘unfair question’ hysteria by the rightwing is unfounded…once again.”

I do not think it was so much the fairness of the question as it was the political agenda in which it was asked and Ms. Hilton’s demeaning responsive blog.

The fact that this was Miss California made Hilton’s political agenda even more venomous.

It also seems odd that from the attacks this type of pageant has received of late that the producers would take this tact. Are they trying to win the feminist’s approval by politicizing the leftist agenda into the contest?

What it has shown is if you differ with the leftist mentality you do not count, your Constitutional right to freedom of expression does not exist and automatically disqualifies you. It continues to amaze me that a faction of people can declare they have a non-existent Constitutional right and spit on the actual Constitutional rights of others that do not agree with them.

    33. sue on April 21st, 2009 2:16 pm

Shame on Perez Hilton. Shame on Keith Lewis, and Shame on Shanna Moakler (Cal/USA pageant). Miss Prejean spoke her beliefs and gets lambasted by some extreme liberal with a past touting dubious accomplishments, to say the least. I was utterly dismayed to hear Lewis and Moaklar say they were saddened by Prejean’s comment. Their response gives credence to the caustic and inflammatory remarks of Hilton and are unacceptable. An organization such as Miss USA should have taken immediate action to support this woman who gave a considerate opinion that was honest, articulate and truthful, whether it is a popular opinion (which if you research it – it is) or not, or whether it is one with which the judges and pageant sponsors agree or disagree. After all, she was asked the question. The Miss California/Miss Universe contest should be about allowing women to take a position without being harangued into being politically correct, if that is what you would call it. Allowing an angry, “celebrity blogger” who makes a living on driving gossip, ridiculing those with different beliefs, and reporting fluff – reflects poorly on the entire pageant organization. I for one, will never, ever watch or support another pageant that is associated with Miss California, Miss USA, etc… Times are mighty scary when a young woman is ridiculed and called to judgment for stating an opinion that reflects her beliefs. A pageant is about empowering women – not dictating what they should believe or express.

    34. caesu on April 21st, 2009 3:27 pm

      hilarious outrage. :)
nice for her that she has a discriminatory opinion.

but if two people want to marry eachother in a free secular society nobody can stop them.

it’s only a matter of time before a supreme court ruling will make it illegal to forbid two people from marrying based on their gender.
it took a while before anti-miscegenation laws were ruled unconstitional, it took a while before jim crow laws were made illegal.
slavery and slave trade was for a long time legal.

and there always are a few so called ‘conservatives’ who don’t want the change anything, cling to backward beliefs and continue to live in the middle ages.

but in the end liberal progression always wins.
of course there will always be foolish people who can’t wrap their minds around that because so they pray for being raptured of hope for armageddon.
good thing that these poor people are only a extreme minority.
but sure they will shout the loudest on street corners and copy-paste frantically on blogs and. :)

I stand behind Miss California 100%, she should have won. No hate towards Miss North Carolina, she’s beautiful. But when hasn’t it been okay for an American to give an honest anwser on what they believe? I’d rather have someone represent the USA in the Miss Universe competition that can be themselves regardless, than to someone just giving an answer that people want to hear. She was being punished because honest..what a shame..

    37. PlatinumSkye on April 21st, 2009 3:46 pm

For those of you who say that her answer was not as graceful as it should have been, consider this point.

I doubt the canidates are told the questions they will recieve, Miss California knew when she got that question that her answer would decide the winner. She only had 30 seconds and she had to consider her views (Which are correct) and what the judges felt like hearing. I wouldn’t be able to come up with a graceful answer under those conditions.

Oh and Perez Hilton needs to go suck the ***** of the transgender men in Los Angeles, Seattle or Juarez, Mexico. Hilton you prick.

    38. Matt on April 21st, 2009 5:04 pm

This isn’t about her ‘opinion’. Everyone knows that when you’re in a beauty pageant (especially one like miss USA), you are there to look pretty. That’s it. If you ARE asked to voice your opinion, you have to be as politically correct as possible. I admit, there are times NOT to be politically correct, and to speak your mind, but when you’re in a beauty pageant, and you want the crown, you have to be politically correct if you want to win. Point of this post? Prejean wanted to ‘stand by her beliefs’ more than the crown. That’s fine with me! But she better not for one second b1tch about not winning. She KNEW what she needed to say to win… and she chose not to. I hope your ‘convictions’ are more important to you than what you have worked so hard for, idiot…

Perez Hilton said he wanted Miss USA to represent America, well…..in my thinking Miss Carrie did represent America, or what it use to be rather, when a person COULD actually have freedom of speech to say and think how they believe, or was he meaning only when it suits him. He is so hypocritical, she expresses her beliefs and is disqualified in his book as Miss USA, yet he can call her an ugly ***** and say he would rip the crown off her head!! and thats doesnt disqualify him as a bias judge seeing he is openly gay. So where does the real American representation come in.

I hope the promoters and other folks in charge of the Miss USA pageant SEE this video and NEVER invite that little “person of no importance” back on the show to do anything. I am sorry if I offend anyone, but if you are gay, then there is something wrong with your brain wiring…you have issues..it is just that simple. Nature is right and you are wrong…end of story. I am so appalled by the hate in most of these posts. Can I get away with using hate speech here as long as I do like Miss Cali and follow it with a cutesy smile, shoulder shrug and proclaim no offense? I am not saying she used hateful speech, just that there are several posters here that are taking this opportunity to bash gays.

The most sickening part is that some hide behind the Bible in their hatred of gays. It’s complete and utter bullshit. In the same chapter of Leviticus it also mentions for folks to not eat unclean animals (following that would mean no bacon for you!). A few verses later within the same biblical book it says it’s ok to take people from your neighboring countries as your slaves. That’s the same verses the slave owners held tight to trying to justify keeping their slaves from being freed or ~shock~ treated as an equal.

Just as Miss Cali had the right to believe and speak her opinion, under OUR country’s freedom of speech, discr Perez had just as much right to think she was a dumb bitch. I am no fan of Perez but I kind of agree with him, but neither of them were to bright for the way and time they expressed their opinion.

#17 It is a Civil issue. Being gay is the new black, it’s one group that it is still allowed, by the government, to legally be discriminated against and treated as less of a person than ones in other groups.

In my opinion there should be true separation of church and state. The government should have no say so about marriage between consenting adults (gay or straight). Have the government recognize civil unions (or some better type term) as a legal union of both straight or gay couples, then the couple can have a ceremony blessed by their church and God if they choose so. But the government should not treat either group any differently… simple enough.

“…if you are gay, then there is something wrong with your brain wiring…you have issues..it is just that simple. Nature is right and you are wrong…end of story…”

Scientist have studied the mating habits of over 1500 different species and have yet to find any that did not have homosexual behaviors amongst them. In fact homosexuality in 500+ species have been extensively studied and well documented. So on one thing we might agree, nature IS right… it’s natural.

    49. Ugh on April 22nd, 2009 12:21 am

I am so frustrated, annoyed, disappointed, ashamed, saddened (the list could go on) that SO MANY of my “fellow humans” are so so so ignorant. If more people actually had brains, the whole gay marriage issue would be a complete and total NON-ISSUE. I mean really, think about it, what super intelligent* people do you know who oppose gay marriage? I’ll bet you the answer is NONE.

*In my definition of intelligence, I include things like open-mindedness and common sense, not just IQ scores alone. Truly intelligent people don’t wish to control the innocent rights of others based on their own moral or religious beliefs. Only a closed, immature, bigoted mind would want something like that.

    50. Lois Wells on April 22nd, 2009 12:23 am

Here we go again. A male gay activist causing trouble because of his belief, but yet denying the Freedom of Speech to other Americans that have an opinion. It is the gay movement that causes trouble wherever they go, expecting everyone to agree with their evil and disgusting life style. Satan is very happy when they push their propaganda, because he knows he has their souls. Homosexuality is condemned by God, and for those who do not turn away from this evil life style, will be condemned by God himself.
As far as Carrie Prejean is concerned, she is a God fearing woman, who loves her God and Saviour. We need more Christians to speak out against the evils of this world, and those who want to shove their philosopy down everyone’s throat.

Reducing Beauty Contests, Movie Awards, Music Recognition,
and similar Spectaculars to nothing more than a platform to
foist a Political Agenda is disgraceful. The real beauty of
      Carrie Prejean is in the pure strength of her character;
something in short supply among her detractors. America
appreciates her honesty and convictions whether or not
she would have placed first in this Pageant. Didn’t see that
      character in the homosexual judge.

Please pass the PC score sheet!

Crimson it seems you like to twist things to support your viewpoints – *yawn*

Regardless if there were 2,000 species that are a-sexual, mono-bi or whatever…you still eliminated the important words mentioned in the Science article regarding species

      “species of animals”

some of us humans have evolved beyond animal life. If you need to catch up with others, perhaps it is you that needs assistance. Don’t try to drag the rest of our race backwards

just because something exists, it doesn’t make it *normal* – Also note that there is an estmated 10 million to 100 million species on this planet and 1500 is quite a small comparisn

Brava to Miss CA for expressing an honest opinion. She would have gotten bonus marks from me for that.

But anyone from a state that has just been through the trauma of a referendum that de-legitimises same-sex marriages, and then says “how wonderful it is that we have a choice to have them” when that choice is now nonexistent in her state is as dumb as a post and twice as ignorant.

The reason I don’t post as much as I used too is that Right Knight usually sums up my feelings and puts it in better words than I could.

The point is character, Miss Cali was exhibiting one of the desired traits in a contestent. Honesty. #38, you are the idiot, she knew what the consequences where and answered honestly. I’m sure she was well aware of this fruits intentions.

This creep tried to make a political statement and used his near fame to promote it.

Now his ranting and bitching is what his character is all about and a majority of Americans can’t stand these venemous crybaby tantrums.

Is this the face of the gay movement? This representitive you have will really grate on people. Try acting like grown ups gay people and maybe you will be accepted more readily by the MAJORITY.

Keep your sexual expressions in the privacy of your homes like normal people do instead of in public just for attention and stop the constant bitching. Nobody wants too listen to bitching all the time.

Perez and everyone like him should be shipped to Antarctic until they smarten up or die whichever comes first! And we all know which would.

#57 – So your obviously in favor of gay marriage.

“Wow I really think women are the property of their husbands, no offense, it was just how I was raised.” Or…”Hmnnn. I don’t think that Asians should be allowed to become American citizens, no offense…that’s just how I was raised.” Why is it considered “ok” to be prejudice against gays but not others? And why do people think that saying “no offense” after saying a horrible, insensitive or otherwise insanely stupid remark just erases the crapitude of that remark?
      It doesn’t. No offense.

On one hand we have a beauty pageant contestant who has difficulty constructing an intelligible sentence. On the other hand we have a hissy “celebrity”.
However, one is willing in the name of family and country to deny rights to a portion of the population. Hardly a Christ-like stance Fundies, don’t ya think?
And the hissy one? He got a little vulgar in his description of the woman in question.
Sometimes people just don’t take being told they’re second class citizens as well as you might expect.

But somehow I doubt the rightwingers and Fundies will never get it.

    62. Nancy on April 22nd, 2009 9:59 am

Good for you, Carrie. Perez is very ignorant. it is not about gay rights, it is about the sanctity of marriage and why marriage was created. Most gays do not believe in God or the bible anyway so why do they want the right to marry? They have all the other rights that everyone else has. Let’s face it, being gay is a sexual thing–it has nothing to do with Marriage which is a commitment between a man and woman in the presence of God. Please!!!!! Can we move on from this? Enough is enough. Perez, I have to love you according to the bible, but I don’t have to like you or what you do.

I was impressed with Miss California, Carrie Prejean’s response to an inappropriate question. How brave for her to answer honestly…isn’t that what’s important. Would Hilton rather have a dishonest Miss USA just so his cause would be furthered.

#1 learn to spell in the english language. Get off your knees from your boyfriend and type a intelligble sentence….

I don’t need to nor do I need to qualify my belief system to leeches of the world like you! It’s morally and objectively WRONG! The American public as a resounding whole do NOT approve of gay marriage. In the most liberal states of all it FAILED. PERIOD. The problem with you and other liberals is you try to push your liberal agenda on others that do not want anything to do with that agenda. You force your opinion on others who don’t like you or your agenda.

Where does it say anywhere in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that it is GAY PEOPLe’s rights that they can marry? Where anywhere?

Just because she quoted the bible, she’s couldn’t complete a sentence? If that’s her belief, it’s her right and you nor anybody else can change that.

You aren’t woman enough to admit the only reason you have this vitrol towards her is because you are like all pig vomit liberals who can’t listen to a person’s different point of view without attacking them. You are just an atheist. Who the f**k are you to judge her? You are a NOBODY! NOTHING! You are one of the scum that leech off other’s hard work and earnings.

      I’ve finally figured you out…you ARE a pillow-biter! Oh…poor 2nd class citizen!

No matter what answer she gave you queer supporter, he had ZERO right to use the vulgarity against her. Just because someone disagrees with your point of view does not mean #1 It’s wrong because who is to say? Hilton? He’s not a spokeswoman of gays…. Her answer was not directed at him, she was asked, she answered.

She, unlike you, is at least original. Liberal talking point #12 – attack all and everybody who doesn’t toe the UNPOPULAR line and repeat this iiberal talking point.

It is c********s like you who don’t get it.

Liberals just can’t stand when people actually speak their minds and say what’s they think is right….its the whole individualism vs. collectivism crap liberal argument.

Her answer was neither horrible or insensitive. How come you have not seen an incredible uproar in the gay community besides from that nobody Hiltion? Because they did not find her answer offensive nor did they give a sh*t!

Find another cause liberals! The American public as a whole do NOT support gay marriage. DEAL WITH IT!

I really don’t give a damn if same-sex couples want to get married, doesn’t bother me. What does bother me is the fact that he was asking a loaded question. There were only two ways she could have answered that and both would have 50% of Americans pissed off at the response. She said she didn’t agree with gay marriage. She did not say that gays are disgusting, gays are evil. She simple stated that she was against it, as Christians we believe that homosexuality is an abomination to GOD. No where did she say that gays are evil. The sin of homosexuality is evil. It is a choice people, you are not born gay. She is entitled to voice her opinions as much as he is. She chose to do it with class & dignity and he chose to behave like a spoiled little brat. She does not have to accept his lifestyle anymore than he has to accept hers. I don’t go on blogs and start calling people vulgar names and crying like a baby when someone doesn’t agree with my lifestyle. I live my life for God not anybody else. God is the only one I need approval from.

The moral of this drama seems to be that the contests, beauty and otherwise, are politicized beyond repair.

Should one harbor an opposing view and desire to win the contest being promoted, one would do well to deceive the querent by giving a false answer to the question intended for propaganda and indoctrination to placate the agenda involved and gain their favor, elst be called out of your name(b*tch in this case)and castigated as unworthy. Of course, by doing that one would lose much more than a contest, one would lose integrity, which Ms Prejean refused to do.

Enough being enough for me, if I am interested in a show, contest or event and it contains a radical with no sense of decency as Perez Hilton seems to possess, I would be more insane than he to actually watch the programs and the commercials that sponsor it. I have a remote control, and I do use when my senses are offended.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

      Yoyo,

Since you ask if what Miss Cali said is Christ-like or not, let me quote you what Christ said about marriage:

      Matthew 19
3Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

4″Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

Christ’s own words state marriage as designed by God from creation is between man and woman. So how is Carrie’s view of marriage as between man and woman not Christ-like again?

    87. Punisher on April 27th, 2009 10:28 am

      Yoko,

The commandment not to commit adultery goes both ways. How about cite the OT where a man who cheats on his wife is also condemned equally as the woman who cheats on her husband? So does that make the husband property of his wife?

And you partially quoted Ephesians 5:25-27. While, it is true Paul stated the husband is head of household, Paul also states leadership in the household means treating the wife like he wants to be treated. And elsewhere, Paul wrote of both husband and wife submitting to one another. So let’s not selectively cite quotes.

    88. Punisher on April 27th, 2009 10:29 am

      yoyo,

So are Barack Obama, the Clintons, Joe Biden, etc., all right-wing extremists since they define marriage the same as Carrie did?

So is the majority of the MOSTLY LIBERAL California right-wingers for being for Proposition 8?

    89. yoyo muffintop on April 27th, 2009 6:12 pm

      New Testament

First Epistle of Paul to Timothy, ii, 11-15:

Let women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness and sobriety.

Corinthians 11:3: “…Christ is the head of every man, and a husband the head of his wife, and the head of Christ is God.

Corinthians 11:7-9:”For a man…is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

Corinthians 14:34-35: “…women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says, If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.”

it goes on and on…..but pick and choose Fundies. It’s quite comical.

    90. Punisher on April 27th, 2009 11:08 pm

      Yoyo,

Nice try, I affirm all these views. I already stated (as conservative WELS Lutheran), I do hold to man is head of household and God does put men and women with different roles in the church, where only men can be pastors.

It is you picking and choosing by ignoring the passages I cited. And on top of that throw around fundie label. Nice way to show your bigotry AND dishonesty at the same time.

Or did you forget these verses exist, too (which mean unless you don’t know they exist, YOU are picking and choosing which verses of the Bible to paint incomplete picture to bash the Bible by with asinine charges that commandment not to covet makes women property of men, etc.):

      1 Corinthians 7:4
In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.

So do tell, does that make a man PROPERTY of a woman? By your logic on how you cherrypick passages it WOULD.

      Or these verses:

      Ephesians 5
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31″For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[c] 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

      1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

So how is it making a woman property of a man to be submitted to him when the man also has a duty to treat her like he treat himself and not treat her like property? More proof you pick and choose what part of the Bible you want to use, for your own hatefilled agenda to bash those who hold to the Bible.

    91. Punisher on April 27th, 2009 11:11 pm

“it goes on and on…..but pick and choose Fundies. It’s quite comical.”

What’s quite comical is you are blatantly guilty of what you accused others of- picking and choosing.

Except you do it with agenda of trashing the Bible and those who believe in it. Trying to turn a passage about not coveting another man’s wife into some sort of proof the wife is property of the man is pure dishonesty. It is like saying if it is wrong for a woman to try to seduce another woman’s husband, that means the husband is property of the second woman. Some logic you employed there.

The bad thing about being politically correct is that one only wants to hear what he wants to hear like Perez Hilton. What happens to the TRUTH that more than half of the American population still supports a”straight marriage” and what happens to the 20++ years of Carrie’s parents raising her to this belief, and her expressing this belief that she was raised with?

In this case, if one only wants to hear political correctness, then there is an outrageous subbverting of the truth – the truth that the gay community still comprise a minority, perhaps because the majority still believes that, indeed,a marriage is between a man and a woman. Ironically though, it is the same political correctness that gave the gay-marriage issue its acceptance and popularity in a climate of “New Tolerance”.

Why ask a question in that setting if there’s a 50/50 chance that you’ll get upset with the answer…
It’s almost like a wife asking her husband if she’s fat, expecting him to say “no” then getting upset if he tells her otherwise.
I think that it’s great that she expressed how she feels with confidence instead of throwing out random words like (such as, iraq, south africa).

Besides, there will always be straight, gay, bi people out there. We need to learn to coexist to be more productive as a collection of people who are just trying to live our lives in this world before our last day.

Since religion was thrown into the mix, God created homosexuality… or do you believe that it is the work of the devil? If so, then wouldn’t God do something about it?
Please don’t recite passages from the Bible. They are man’s documentation of what they have seen/heard… Are we worshiping King James when we pick up and read “King James’” version?

all these right-wing “moralists” don’t get the point. obama may not be for gay marriage, but he does not vow to fight against it. to each his own. and equality under the law! funny to see right-wingers cal the lefties “intolerant.” the righties invented the word! america allows you all to keep your religious beliefs in peace. you should return the favor and let the gays live their own lives in equality, too. or are you all too intolerant?

So his response is that she should have been a good little trained american and say, “well, since the united states has already ruined the sanctity of our language by changing the meaning of a word, i’m just gonna accept it and let them get away with it.” hmmmm… and he called her a dumb bitch….
