PEW Research: Obama’s Approval Numbers are Falling … There are Consequences to Spending

As Obama’s approval poll numbers fall I guess his peeps would say that his fundamental Obama_approval_Pew_0317poll numbers are sound. Actually, the dirty little secret is … Obama is a liberal.

The bloom is falling off the Barack Obama support. In just over 50 days in office Barack Obama’s approval ratings are falling as a second major polling firm shows and erosion and chink in the Obama armor. The Pew Research Center reports that Obama’s approval rating has slipped from 64% in February to 59% while The One’s disapproval rating has risen from 17% to 26% during the same period.

Obama is finally being exposed for the wolf in moderate sheep’s clothing that he really is. Even as CNN tries to defend Obama’s poll numbers there is no doubt that American’s have become uneasy at Obama’s willingness to embrace the liberal left and to spend, spend, spend without regard. As Red State  appropriately puts it, the American public has discovered that Obama is a liberal. Make all the excuses you want for Obama, if we do not come out of this economic mess it is an Obama Recession and he will own it. There is only so much patience that the American people have and Obama will soon learn this.

The most dramatic shift in opinion about Obama in the new survey is about whether he is listening more to his party’s moderates or liberals. By 44% to 30%, the public now sees him listening more to liberal Democrats rather than to moderate Democrats. This is a reversal from January when 44% said he was listening more to moderates in the Democratic Party, while 34% said he was listening more to the party’s liberals. The proportion of Republicans who see liberals having greater sway over Obama has increased by 23 points since January; the proportion of independents holding that view has risen 13 points.

Hot Air reminds us that last weeks Rasmussen Report basically paralleling similar lumbers can no long be considered an outlier as many Obama defenders wanted people to believe.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 36% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) now Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +4, his lowest rating to date (see trends).

When the governing body group starts
considering itself as a THING and feels
all those it governs are ANOTHER THING,
we have troubles of major proportions.
      Insuring survival, comfort, invincibility,
for itself, the government ‘thing’ will
squeeze the ‘producing thing’ to death.

Government and the people must be one,
singing the same tune in sweet harmony.
      Taxpayers hire trustworthy servants from
their own. We don’t want those servants
to start feeling superior and aloof from us. We
expect and demand they remain fiscally
responsible with our earnings. The work
rules are clearly scribed in our Constitution.
When greed and deviations from that document
seeps in, it signals it’s time to change the
sheets. Even fish start to smell after enough time.

It’s kind of ironical that the bigger and more
powerful the government becomes, the smaller
and more weak those governed become! Nice
to have an inspired Tiger working in the
Center Ring, equally good for the tamer
to posses a whip and a gun for protection!

Now the dipshits that voted for this clown are figuring out what we naysayers knew from the get go. And if you didn’t know, you should have at least looked up the word SOCIALISM in the dictionary, so as to understand what the rest of us were concerned about. And if you did know, you should have gone to Venezuela.

Now, you’re concerned??? Way to go MORON! As I wrote in a previous post – Time to GROW UP.

    5. super dave on March 17th, 2009 7:17 am

time for obama to get mellow and embrace the right.

    6. ANewGirl on March 17th, 2009 8:40 am

Now that we can’t call our terrorist friends “enemy combatants” anymore, do you suppose he’ll call Ahmadinejad and ask for his suggestions?

Stay tuned for his telivised appearance on Jay Leno’s Tonight show Thursday evening….Hasn’t he got more important things to do???

    7. Rusty Bridges on March 17th, 2009 8:41 am

      The investigation is a shame.

    8. scott on March 17th, 2009 10:11 am

Worst poll numbers than Bush in 2001 and on the same level as Jimmy Carter.

It’s also Bush’s fault that Obama has not filled his Treasury Department, that his nominees do not pay their taxes, etc…. *wink wink*

Why doesn’t the MSM report that Geithner was the man behind the ORIGINAL AIG BAILOUT as reported by the NY Times? And now these bonuses and Geithner had no idea? RIIIIIIIIGGHHHTTT!

Obama and his cronies should have caught this in this so-called new era of transparency! HA….

Obama has broken so many campaign promises that he not even the same person….Five days to view the bills on the website…NOT! No lobbyists in his White House? NOT!

Remember he said “what economy?” back on the campaign trail when we lost 500 points back in Sept….but since his election the Dow has lost over 2 thousand points and now the economy is “sound.” yet millions are STILL losing their jobs? The guy’s a fu**ing loon.

He’s done in 4 years! You heard it here!

    14. artgal16 on March 17th, 2009 3:51 pm

gallup has obama up by 1 at 62 percent approval
I dont see this as “falling” polls

    15. ANewGirl on March 17th, 2009 6:40 pm

@#14–How do YOU spell disaster??? Happen to catch the headline news tonite???? Obama’s BAIL OUT PLAN & billions of taxpayer’s dollars to AIG so that 21 Executives could get over $1M each bonuses?? (11 of which don’t even work there anymore!!!) Of course you’ll deny the obvious since logic is never a strong liberal suit.

You, YoYo & Ceasu & other O-bots can put us down & negate our comments as much you’d like, but it won’t change the fact that your sainted leader is a wagyu-eating, thermostat-raising, teleprompter-reading, dvd-giving, non-stop-campaigning, terrorist-befriending, dictator-kissing, stuttering, leadership-impaired, history illiterate president on training wheels.

I’d buy you a clue, but Obama already has all my money.

Hi! What is it with this guy and his daily photo-opps? Between his staged appearances and the media licking at his heals its about all that is on TV these days. Well, that and that buffoon he props up in front of the media at the White House every day – what his name? Who cares.

      #13 Scott

Sadly, if this train wreck continues unabated for 4 years there wont be a presidency, an economy, or a United States; not as we know it.

I’ll provide the clue. Our chavez-wanna-be is planning to put together a Gestopo force under the guise of homeland security. The National Guard is run by the governors, but this will be a federal force. He discussed doing this during his campaign, and has mentioned it again recently.
Ask yourself what such a large force would be used for: to hunt down a few terrorists, or to keep the population under control?

    20. ANewGirl on March 18th, 2009 7:26 am

      As the stomach turns…..

Top Executives from AIG up on Capital Hill this morning to try and explain why millions of dollars were paid out for bonuses….meanwhile, the Obamassiah goes to Cali for a “Town Meeting” style Q&A forum regarding the economic crisis and the AIG scandal…….PUHLEEZE!

Is this just the beginning of public outrage?? Shouldn’t the CHOSEN ONE be held accountable now for a plan he & Geither approved less than 2 weeks ago? Now Congress is looking for a way to “tax” these individuals on the earnings they received??? A little too late if you ask me & millions of PO’d Americans!!!!

    21. Dolf on March 18th, 2009 9:07 am

      this all last years doing.
AIG already paid out bonusses in december.
and those of last week come from contracts last year.

look you can’t blame Bush, you can’t blame Obama.

you can blame those arrogant, clueless bankers.

    22. Michelle Smith on March 18th, 2009 11:30 am

#21 Yes, we can blame. Why keep giving them bailout money when they have proven they are not trustworthy?

Dolf, why are you even here posting about something that is none of your business? Worry about your own Country.

    23. super dave on March 18th, 2009 12:49 pm

dolf: obama wants to blame bush for the mess that obama himself created. it’s the african way of doing things.
even after all the slurs obama threw at bush, he was still man enough today to say that he wasn’t going to criticize obama. he sees obama as the kid that he is and like a little kid obama is going to have to face reality and see that he is not capable of being a leader.

    24. Michelle Smith on March 18th, 2009 4:13 pm

Obama is a sinking ship and he’s taking us with him. He has gotten in way over his head and wants to point fingers. He DOES NOT have a clue what to do. He wanted the job and now that he’s got it, it’s more than he can handle. I would say, he should step down from the position but we don’t want Biden as our President either.

    25. Dolf on March 19th, 2009 3:51 am

      Michelle

maybe you haven’t noticed but its kind of a global problem.

and why give them the money…cause if it isn’t done the whole system will come crashing down

and about the fingerpointing…thats just politics as usual

and about Bush his remarks……100% class.
Its sad for the man that because of the failures of his admin and CHENEY (1 scary mofu) nobody remembers the good things he has done (esp. for Africa).

Um, you mean like when Barack lauded GWB for his work on aids there? Yup, real failure.

      R

Obama, Blair laud Bush’s AIDS work in Africa
      http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/12/01/world.aids.day/

President-elect Barack Obama doesn’t often offer praise for President George W. Bush’s foreign policy, but on Monday he offered the outgoing head of state accolades for battling AIDS in Africa.

“I salute President Bush for his leadership in crafting a plan for AIDS relief in Africa and backing it up with funding dedicated to saving lives and preventing the spread of the disease,” Obama said in taped remarks to the Saddleback Civil Forum on Global Health.

The videotape was played during a forum marking the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, established by the World Health Organization to raise awareness about the disease.

Under the Bush administration, more than 2 million people infected with HIV — most of them in Africa — have received lifesaving anti-retroviral treatment as part of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or PEPFAR.

In Global Battle on AIDS, Bush Creates Legacy
      http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/05/washington/05aids.html

Nearly five years later, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief — Pepfar, for short — may be the most lasting bipartisan accomplishment of the Bush presidency.

    27. Scared Monkeys on March 19th, 2009 6:33 am

Oh wait, there is rock star and humanitarian Bono prasiung GWB as well …

Bono sings the praises of President Bush, new AIDS spending

      http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/05/bono_sings_the_.html

The Grammy winner was singing the praises of the American president for his announcement today that he would propose spending an additional $30 billion over five years to fight AIDS in Africa, doubling the U.S. commitment.

“Some of my activist friends will be, you know, jumping on one leg rather than jumping on two because it’s never enough, and etc., etc.,” Bono said in a telephone interview from Fez, Morocco, where he’s recording with his band, U2. “But I am sorry, I’m standing up and I’m applauding the president and Congress.”

    28. Scared Monkeys on March 19th, 2009 6:37 am

Oh wait, Bob Geldoff has praise as well …

      http://video1.washingtontimes.com/fishwrap/2008/02/bob_geldof_in_rwanda.html

Mr. Geldof praised Mr. Bush for his work in delivering billions to fight disease and poverty in Africa, and blasted the U.S. press for ignoring the achievement.

Mr. Bush, said Mr. Geldof, “has done more than any other president so far.”
[that would include Bill Clinton & Jimmy Carter wouldn't it?]

    29. Dolf on March 19th, 2009 9:31 am

      ?

didn’t I give Bush his deserved respect for what he did in Africa.

His plan for those illegal workers was pretty good too.

    30. yoyo muffintop on March 19th, 2009 10:01 am

#26/27/28 – He was a failure. No attempts at revisionist history will change that.

#25′s statement of “Its sad for the man that because of the failures of his admin and CHENEY (1 scary mofu) nobody remembers the good things he has done (esp. for Africa).” is 100% correct.

    31. ANewGirl on March 19th, 2009 9:37 pm

Hi, Pat in Alabama…..Even Jay Leno said he was going to have Biden on , too- but you know, it’s only an hour program. lol What a Gasbag that guy is and everyone knows it!

    32. Stephanie on April 18th, 2009 8:05 am

You fail to mention that Obama’s ratings have slipped for Republicans. EVERY poll shows that the majority of Democrats and Independents support our President. And his approval ratings are higher than Bush’s at this same time. Plus, you forgot to mention that the Republicans have hit an all-time low in approval ratings in modern history. Ohhhh, how quickly you forget the facts.
