If former President George W. Bush was mocked as English was his second language when he made a gaffe, maybe some one would like to explain how such a so-called gifted orator like Barack Obama needs a teleprompter. Not just for the long winded speeches, but for all of his speeches? No other President has needed a teleprompter like this, ever.
Why would anyone need such a dependence and crutch to give a speech? A true orator knows their material.
Such a dependence on a teleprompter gives rise to the obvious two questions. One, who has Obama’s ear or should we say eyes as to what he is reading. Two, as Flopping Aces asks, is there a media double standard as if GWB did something like this they would be referring to him and stupid, ignorant and a half wit. Is Obama nothing more than the equivalent of a Hollywood actor reading his lines off dummy cards? That would explain the fascination with the stars.
We have been told over and over by the MSM that Obama is a gifted orator. Really, or is that just more of the propaganda that we are shoveled by an industry that has carried Obama’s water since he came on the political scene. However, as all can clearly see Obama is lost without his teleprompter. As Wizbangs states, “without it his oratory collapses like a marionette without a puppet master”. Remember this priceless Town Hall event when the teleprompter broke? Makes ya wonder who really is pulling his strings.

As for St. Ronnie you’re kidding about that one too right? You do know don’t you that Jim Baker and Mike Deaver not only wrote out thousands of cue cards and index cards so that Ronnie could pretend through his dementia but they literally put tape on the floor of the East Room, the Oval Office, the Briefing room etc to show Uncle Ron where he needed to stand in order to get the photo op. It wasn’t enough of course and sweet Nancy the enabler occasionally had to whisper in his ear what he had to say. Baker and Deaver invented modern day political stage craft and they did it with their favorite pretend cowboy Ronnie.
And since you included the last great Repug dyslexic Georgia Bush, don’t get me started on the number of military costumes they had that dumbkoff parade around in because a teleprompter alone would not have saved him from his inability to read a teleprompter. You do know you have to be able to read in order to use a teleprompter don’t you??

Seneca, cue cards and notes are used to keep track of where you are in a speech, not total dependence like a teleprompter is used for.
People that I know personally are impressed and amazed that Obama memorizes his speeches and attribute it to the fact that the speeches are heartfelt because of that. I think he plays it that way for that reason. But the real fact is that he is spoon fed every word and one doubts his sincerity when you know that. Thats how I see it anyway.

Putting Obama and Reagan in the same breathe is laughable and an insult to the one of the GREATEST Presidents of all-time. He accomplished more in 8 years than Obama will ever dream.
He created 20 million jobs and gave the USA the greatest non-wartime economic growth EVER!

The Teleprompter was invented in the 1950′s. Ronald Reagan actually did use them as extensively as Obama.The trick he used was to hold papers in his hand, while reading from the Teleprompter. Google Reagan, teleprompter, you will find all kinds of images and articles about Reagan’s love of the Teleprompter. You didn’t think he was that good, did you. He was an old B actor.

How unimformed are you people? What are you 12 or do you just have room temperature IQ? The computerized teleprompter was invented in 1982. The teleprompter itself was invented in the 1950′s. Every president has used the teleprompter to the same extent as President Obama. Ronald Reagan couldn’t tell you the time of day or who he was without a teleprompter. He was an actor who PLAYED the role of president. By the way, cue cards are used for both outline style notes and word-for-word recitation.
