Tammy Lee Gibson, Mother Gets 3 Months in Jail for for Beating Sex Offender with Baseball Bat … “I’d do it again”

Bat welding mom sentenced to 90 days in jail for beating a convicted child molester

“I’d do it again, if not better.”

Should sex offenders be allowed to talk to 10 year old girls with no consequences? Tammy_gibsonContrary to what our present laws and the courts might think, a convicted sex offender is not a normal neighbor. Who honestly thinks that a convicted sex offender is just a neighbor? Something must be done in this contrary to protect the rights of the innocent rather than the rights of convicted child predators. When will the courts start treating child sex offenders for the sexual predators that they really are?

Tammy Gibson stated as she prior to being sentenced as her two daughter looked, Gibson told Pierce County Superior Court Judge Susan Serko that laws are needed to keep convicted sexual predators away from children.

It’s 90 days for doing what many say was family protection, but the law saw it as an unprovoked attack on a man who wasn’t breaking any laws. He was just a neighbor.

Tammy Lee Gibson, outraged mother was sentenced to three months behind bars for beating a convicted sex offender with an aluminum baseball bat after he reportedly was talking to her 10 year old daughter. Jail? She should have been given a medal, an aluminum one … Unprovoked?

Gibson said she has no remorse for the June 19 assault but pleaded no contest Friday to assault charges. She could have received as much as eight months in jail, but the judge sentenced her to three.

“No, I’d do it again if not better,” she told ABC News Seattle affiliate KOMO-TV. “I don’t care if it hurts me, I don’t regret it. It got him away from my kids and all the other kids in the neighborhood.”

William A. Baldwin, a Level-3 sex offender had moved into his uncle’s home in Tacoma, WA in early June. Following his move, county deputies distributed flyers around the neighborhood to alert residents of his presence. Hardly what one would do for your average neighbor next door. On June 19th Tammy Lee Gibson went to the residence of William Baldwin, called him out and began smacking the day lights out of him with a baseball bat leaving him with an injured arm.

Contrary to what she had said to Baldwin, Gibson later told investigators Baldwin had not molested her children.

She did say, however, that when she saw the flyer, she recognized Baldwin as the man who had chatted up her then-10-year-old daughter during the previous summer. It may have been Baldwin’s unusual height of 7 feet 3 inches that made him memorable.

“For him to be right there, in front of my house and talking to my child — made me crazy,” she said.

“And I told him I thought he was a piece of crap and I smacked him,” she said. “I just didn’t stop hitting him. I just told him that ‘if it were up to me, I’d kill ya.”‘

“I was scared. I was frightened. I didn’t know what the hell to do,” Baldwin said of being assaulted by the unexpected visitor.

“I just wanted to hurt him,” said Gibson.

I said it before and I will say it again if someone breaks into your home you got to kill the POS or they can press charges. If I ever see someone beating a child or animal I would break all of there limbs before beating the last breath of air from there lifeless body. Then I would try me best to pull an aruba (no body no crime)

This is so ridiculous. We lock a mother up for sticking up for her daughter; while we let the ones that do nothing, go scott free. Oh well, the three months will be over in no time. Meanwhile, her daughter can get some therapy, mom can heal and they can work at being a family, again. No more tears…

Geez, I didn’t have to read anymore than the headline to think WTF!!

I don’t blame the mom, I’d beat the hell out of the level 3 sex offender also for talking to my 10 year old daughter!

What’s up in Washington state to allow sex offenders to live next door to children???

Forget the arm, he can get that reset.

What do you expect if the liberals make the laws and do want to hurt a poor sex offender of his right to molest again & again. I wish I had been on the jury. With Polosi and Obama appointing all the new judges we are in trouble and what is right has gone away.

Welcome to the Democrat Party way of life. Barney Frank’s boyfriend ran a gay escourt service from his home. Nothing happened to him but make him a big boy with the Democrat Party.

Bill Clinton was getting BJ in the White House and look where he is with the Democrat Party.

      We are pretty much screwed!

Child Molestors ALWAYS REPEAT their crimes. I believe in my heart that this woman saved many children. #3 Hope – I think the sign is a great idea.

I just don’t get why the laws aren’t changed, but I have a theory. Child molestation is a crime that knows no boundaries. It effects every class of people. I think that there are many child molestors in our government, and they sympathize with the molestors. There can be no other explanation for not changing our laws.

I have thought for sometime that the only way to make these people THINK was to take the eyes away from some of the worst…if they can’t see them, they can’t get them. Just my opinion!

Adam’s law is trying to go into effect here in Massachusetts and it’s meeting opposition… (Adam Walsh was murdered from a monster preditor).. John Walsh is known to most of us ~ he has the crime TV show…

I’m personally, sick of this nonsense! The preditor/pedofile have/has MORE rights than we do (as a society)!

For # 9. I AGREE With you, otherwise, the laws would be CHANGED.

The impact upon society is HUGE when someone is violated, raped, assaulted, molested ~ it’s cheaper to lock up the monsters and keep our neighborhoods safe.

I recently watched (I think ABC, about 2 weeks ago) when they had actors perform a mock predator situation where a man approached a child on a swing in a playground, asking to find his puppy.. they used an unkempt, shady character-actor, and then a very well kept/preppy man… to see what people (other parents/grandparent/moms/dads/ in the park would do… surprisingly, not many called 911… some approached the preditor ~! and failed to still call 911 ! I was outraged, at the lack of people knowing what to do in this type of situation or instance. Most, if not all of the ones in the scenereo, let the preditor/Perpitrator WALK, YES, WALK AWAY… and did not contact police!!! I was screaming at my TV… the news program, John Qhotes (forgive my spelling)… had an AMAZING” opportunity to educate their viewers/children if this was to actually happen…what you need to do and they failed to do so. (Actors) … I then thought, well if they did call 911.. what charges would be brought against a possible abduction/predator?… if at all?.. could our Police enforce attempted kidnapping/abduction/molestation of a child?.. intent was there…

It really angers me, that more is not done to protect our children in society and that our country devalues children.

Yes, I’m writing to my Governor in my State of Massachusetts, regarding Adam Walsh’s law… (and insist they put this into effect) and it’s still not strong enough, but a beginning…

We all must be proactive and write our State legislators, and even Federal. All posters, I challenge you to do so TODAY! We owe it to society and MUST speak up and continue to be the voices of the children …especially those who are silenced every day…and those who survive from monster predators like this~ it’s their lifetime sentence of healing.. this has a huge ripple effect upon the whole of society, and families not to mention the victim… and we all need to be our brothers keeper…continue be the voices of those who’ve been victimized/abused/raped/molested… and make sure, these laws are passed and implemented and enforced…

We are living in a Catch and release society… SEX offenders ARE allowed back into society to do this over and over and OVER again. YES, in every STATE… all different “levels of sex offenders”.. give me a break!.. yes, a level 3 sex offender CAN and DO in fact live in our neighborhoods… and, many leave their state and do not re-register… AND.. this thought I will end with.. (THESE ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT!!!)… THERE ARE MANY, WHO HAVE NOT BEEN CAPTURED, AND CAUGHT… they are too clever…living in your neighborhoods too…

I want a little check off box on my INCOME TAX RETURN FORM to say… this amount of money may go toward:
      New Prisons~

for new prisons to keep these monsters locked in for life…it is a fact that they can not be rehabilitated and they will stop at nothing.. and will continue to do this over and over and over again.. they can live in a locked in environment (for the poster wondering where they should live)… that will do just fine, and be kept out of our neighborhoods and society.

This isn’t about sex, it’s all about POWER and CONTROL… let them fend for themselves in prison.

      Speak up for CHILDREN~!

      ENOUGH~!

we have fierce, strong voices, time to use them.

I’m so glad this mom beat that “petie.”. I bet he will think twice before he talks to any little girls again. I commend her for what she did she took a stand for what she believed in nothing will change if nothing changes. I wonder what that judge would have done if it were his daughter, but then again these judges are either too old to have little kids or the area they live in is so exclusive the “pets” are weeded out way before they could even think of moving in.

      Welcome back.

I don’t live in Massachusetts, but I’ll help out in any way I can. I think our comments got tangled in the server; otherwise I would have responded right away. It’s good to have you back. You know that we need more kind and caring people to help out on the front page. I know you’re involved in alot of things, but anything to keep us going is appreciated.

      Luv ya,

I think this mother should get an award,Not a 3 month jail sentence. She was like a mama bear.

    24. kitty on March 3rd, 2009 12:38 pm

#9. well said… and Thanks, Patti…we all must be proactive about this and continue to be the voice of children… and write our lawmakers, judges, Governors, President too!

for Ray,#23. she should be rewarded, not punished for what she did. She was protecting her child, from a KNOWN offender and he should NOT have been near her child to begin with. She responded with her GUT instinct and reacted… had she thought about it, she may have pummeled him to death. She spared him.

She WAS a Mamma bear… and Lioness! Hell hath no fury of that of a Mamma who’s protecting her child, cub.. etc… she was acting on pure INSTINCT…

    25. Enough Already! on March 4th, 2009 10:31 pm

She has a lengthy criminal record in her own right. A history of drug and assault charges to be exact. Today you cheer because she beat a sex offender. Tomorrow you’ll want her head when she kills an innocent man in a drunken rage for accusing him of touching her daughter. Let us not forget she flat out lied. Below are a few choice quotes from this saga, listed in the website I provided below:

      http://www.oncefallen.com/

“I’d do it again, if not better.” — Tammy Lee Gibson, 2/27/09

“If it were up to me, I’d kill him… I just wanted to hurt him” — Tammy Lee Gibson, 6/19/08

“She has no remorse for what she did.”– KOMO News, 2/27/09

“[Gibson] is not a soccer mom in a minivan who lost her temper. She’s been in jail before on drug and assault charges… If everyone went out and beat up a sex offender, we’re going to have to stop doing notifications.” — Det. Ed Troyer, Pierce Co. WA Sheriff’s Dept., 6/19/08

    26. william r. delzell on March 7th, 2009 10:09 am

Gibson who attacked a former sex offender is no paragon of virtue herself. She has a prior record of assault, drug charges, and other anti-social activities that makes her no role model for little children. Suppose she had attacked somebody else instead? The people who now praise her would demand her head on a platter. Suppose that former offender she attacked had been armed with a pistol and had shown no hesitency to defend himself against her by using it? Gibson would then be dead, and absolutely useless to her surving children as a result. No child wants her or his mother and father dead, especially when they’re young and dependant. Gibson actually put her own daughter at risk of becoming an orphan as a result of her reckless rambo-like conduct.

    27. Scared Monkeys on March 7th, 2009 10:14 am

The fact of the matter is … no parent is going to ever accept a sex offender talking to their child.

CONVICTED SEX OFFENDERS are hardly common neighbors.

To quote Sheriff Gillespie (Carol O’Connor) from the TV show, The Heat of the Night.

“There is no such thing as a one time rapist”

    28. kitty on March 10th, 2009 7:33 pm

      Amen!
Well said and this guy was CONVICTED… there are MANY who have NOT been convicted, living in neighborhoods too ~ that is reality~ they are NOT neighbors.

And, that Sherrif was right. There is NO such thing as a one time rapist!

They make a career of it and will stop at nothing.

How come, this is allowed, that is what I want to know.
