Barack Obama & Democrats Put Caps on Exec Pay … Not on Themselves … Change You Can Believe In

Barack Obama Change You Can Believe In … Do as I say, not as I do.

Caps on corporate America … The US Government is the biggest offenders of wasteful spending and little to no oversight. Is it no wonder that Obama’s stimulus package is so unpopular with Americans. It looks like wasteful government spending instead of wasteful corporate spending instead. In the end, the tax payers are left holding the bag.

50% Say Stimulus Plan Likely to Make Things Worse. In order for Obama to get the US Senate to get this bill passed just how much more will be added to the stimulus and how much Democratic pork will get gutted?

From President Barack Obama and the Dems comes a cap of $500,000 on senior executive pay for companies receiving federal bail out money. Is this just one more step closer to socialism? Next thing liberal Democrats will want the cap on all companies regardless of receiving bail out money or not. Are Americans upset with the wasteful ways of corporate America and the frivolous spending? Sure they are; however, it is not just corporate America who spends American taxes payers money is a wasteful manner.

The executive-pay move comes amid a national outcry over huge bonuses to executives heading companies seeking taxpayer dollars to remain afloat. The demand for limits was reinforced by revelations that Wall Street firms paid more than $18 billion in bonuses in 2008 even amid the economic downturn and the massive infusion of taxpayer dollars.

“This is America. We don’t disparage wealth. We don’t begrudge anybody for achieving success,” Obama said. “But what gets people upset – and rightfully so – are executives being rewarded for failure. Especially when those rewards are subsidized by U.S. taxpayers.”

Last time I checked wasn’t all of Washington, DC politicians tax subsidized? Who does Barack Obama thinks pays his salary? Would that be the American people? If that is the case and Obama is telling corporate America to cut salaries, why is it that Obama is not doing the same? CHANGE? It appears that the Obamamessiah has many of the same perks that he is vilifying American CEO’s for. Wouldn’t one think that if President Barack Obama wants to set a perception and attitude of fiscal change, that he would first start by making some changes with himself?

America’s CEOs are coming under fire these days not just for their hefty salaries but also for their use of private jets, limos with drivers and free trips to posh resorts.

But they aren’t alone in living this lavish lifestyle — the president of United States gets all these perks and more.

And unlike some of his Cabinet appointments, he doesn’t have to pay taxes on these benefits.

It might be a bit of a stretch to compare today’s corporate titans with the commander in chief, but some Wall Street bloggers clearly upset with President Obama’s attempts to rein in executive pay are doing just that.

Interestingly enough Barack Obama does not seem to be addressing the issue that Democrats spent $500K on Caucus retreats.

Well, the people in high government positions seem to make up the difference by not paying taxes.

Caucus retreats aren’t the only perk $$$ is being wasted on. try researching training seminars for different government employees such as the irs.

Giving the ‘Peoples’ money to businesses that
are failing is the problem. Failed businesses are
most oft purchased by other private sector
parties rather than the Government. When that
Government becomes the private sector (by
owning the core businesses therein), the ‘fix
is in’ and Socialism is it. Kiss incentive, inspiration,
productivity, and all the rest GOOBYE!

Yo, can you spare another hit off that European Bong?

Another day goes by….another tax cheat problem:

      From WaPo

“A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama’s nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business — including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.”

I WILL ASK AGAIN. Why does the Democratic party believe the middle class should pay more taxes, when they are constantly not paying some of theirs? Think there is any coincidence between this back tax being paid and the current TAX CHEAT SCANDAL beginning to rot the Obama administration before it even starts?

This has gone beyond ridiculousness. What a bunch of crooks. I would ask any Democrats/Obama supporters to come on here and explain why the middle class should pick up the burden while Democratic party leadership continuously shirks their responsibilities.

      I guess I have learned a lesson…

Much was made of John McCains many houses…

The real story was unpaid taxes. I just don’t know how there can be so many with that problem.

In theory, these are highly educated people. Is this the kind that will compete for jobs with people in India and China?

Sign the Petition to stop the Stimulus

Where are all those people that use to post here that thought the O was going to give us hope and change? Is this the change you hoped for?

How crazy is it to give a group of people, who authorized $350 billion and now admit to over paying $78 billion for bank assets, more money to burn? Less than 12% of the crap sandwich as a wit to do with economic stimulus. Wake up people!

Just watched Obama’s cheerleading speech for his new stimulus package. Then the question and answer sessions started . . . and . . .

. . . the lights went out and the transmission was blacked out. I tried other news affiliates and all were blacked out from the Q&A.

We are allowed to see what a great performer the new ‘President’ is, but we are not permitted to see how him thinks on his feet.

      Good Night, and Good Luck.

Here are some other ideas for salary caps of like $100,000

Mayors of cities with crumbling schools

Governors with crumbling infrastructure and schools

Congressional leaders and the presidents of places with crumbling infrastructure

Your bonus plan will be based on your ability to find and return to retirement plans, investors, homeowners, and stockholders everywhere all the money that seems to have disappeared overnight and during a few days…

Anyone else have something for the list?

Audit congress the find lots of taxpayers money sitting in their bank accounts.

Start charging congressional leaders by the word for their publicity statements

Dock congress for each little witch hunt the go on instead of being about the people’s business – like drugs in baseball, etc.

Make congress pay for their own retreats and dock their pay when they are gone from their jobs and have used more than 2 weeks vacation or 1 week sick leave.

Make the winers and diners who attempt to sway our representatives with $100 steak and super bowl parties pay for the food and drink they serve.

Take away congressional perks until unemployment is below 6%.

      I like it #9 katablog.

Did you hear that the Senate Dem & Rep leaders decided to call it a night by 8pm and will start back up at 10am? No worries…it’s only a trillion dollars…no need to get it right.
I guess the skinny lattes before 8am at the Foggy Bottom Starbucks don’t taste as good as the ones after 9am.

    11. katablog.com on February 6th, 2009 9:07 am

yoyo: this is your man and his team at work! BTW, O wasn’t at the Senate last night because he was off with the House Dems at a $100,000 retreat!

Word is they were doing the very best to help the fledgling economy by spending yours and my tax dollars sipping Mia Tias in a luxury resort. Sort of like playing the fiddle while Rome burns?

Damn yoyo…you are agreeing with us! I love it! Knew there had to be things we could all agree on and be kind “kumbayaing” together…at least once :>)
