Zenaida Gonzalez & Annie Leigh Downing’s Excellent Adventure: Zannie and Annie Go to Traffic Court

When asked the question, do you’re Clients still believe a Zenaida Gonzalez is responsible for what happened to Caylee? Brad Conway, attorney representing George and Cindy Anthony responds:

“They do, but not the Zenaida represented by Mr. Morgan…”

If your like me, you are as bewildered as one can get at the insistence of “Camp Casey”  to continue to suggest that a person with this name is involved in the abduction and murder of 34 month old Caylee Anthony. Perhaps Attorney Baez and his Cum Laude Clan are preparing their Columbo moment in this regard while fighting over who gets to be Colonel Mustard in the study .

Although listed as a witness for the Prosecution released by the State’s Attorney’s office on January 11, 2008, Annie Leigh Downing’s Interview with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has never been made public.  Her cell phone records and any IM or text messages between her and Casey Anthony have also never been made public although other witnesses have.

Failure To Yield

That may be the gross understatement of the year describing Casey Anthony. But in this scenario, it is actually a traffic citation, one of two, given to a Zenaida Gonzalez, on May 24, 2008.

No, again, this is not the Zenaida represented by Mr. Morgan, this is a different Zannie, with a birth date of January 11, 1986. Wow. Just a mere 3 months older than Casey.  Did they go to school together? Have mutual friends? Fellow Fusionite?

Nope, Not the Best Driving Record

Annie Downing had a rough couple months this Spring in the traffic area. On March 30, 2008, she received citations for both Speeding 15-19 mph over the speed limit, and for not producing her driver’s license and insurance card. While the presentation of those documents on April 18 cleared that part of the citation,  the speeding ticket remained open on her record until 2 online requested and subsequently granted extensions later on July 1, 2008. Why do we care?

Co ink y Dink or Other

There are only 3 plausible scenarios where  a material witness in a homicide case whose statement has been withheld, and  a woman with the name at the center of the linchpin of Casey Anthony’s defense get traffic citations on the same day. Throw in the tidbit that Casey met Tony Lazzarro for the first time at a party that same evening, and you have what appears to be in retrospect, the beginning of the omen for Caylee.  To be able to best portray the relevance of the above ZG incident as compared to known relevant dates in this case, I offer the following three theories with accompanying timeline.

Theory 1: Casey is using Zenaida as an alias

Under this scenario, which I personally believe may be the case, Casey is driving and Annie is in the car with her on May 24. Casey had been in an accident on May 14, 10 days earlier in her own vehicle and did not have it back yet.  She gets pulled over, and because she did not have a valid license, gives the Officer the name Zenaida Gonzalez .  Annie provides proof of insurance as it is her car, thus why no charge of failure to produce both documents.  Under Florida law, requiring both front seat passengers wear seat belts, Annie gets that citation.

Notably, although the incident was May 24, that summons is not filed until June 6, as opposed to Zenaida’s which were filed 6/2/08 and 6/3/08 respectively. Was “ZG” given a window to present ID to drop that charge as Annie did in her unrelated 3/30/08 incident? Was the seat belt charge added on because the officer on duty when it kicked back realized she did not comply?

Evidence to Support Theory
Operating without a Valid License

What is important to note in the above docket is that the case updated on 6/3/08 to require an arraignment, now scheduled for 6/11/08, indicating the lag for the subject to have produced ID.

The subject is required to appear in person. This issue will bring the second summons issued to ZG that day into focus significantly. Also, this docket does not match the financial records of the Citation:

There is a status change to “prosecutorial” on 8/18/08 which does not appear on the front docket. The only reference is located in the charge docs.  I was aware of this Zenaida case record in July. It actually went delinquent on 8/20/08 and I found this important as Casey was incarcerated then and I was suspicious of the connection. I brought it to the attention of a source in Orlando, and I advised the source if there was anything to this issue relative to Casey’s case, someone had better do something to stop a bench warrant from being issued or the press would be all over it. Upon checking the next day it had been corrected retroactively to reflect the $100 payment on 8/15/08.  Which consequently would cover the next 2 months payments, or through October 15, 2008. Casey was indicted on October 14 and returned to prison. None of the payments on this summons were made online, therefore there is no public receipt available.  It was not until I began researching other known witnesses against the Zenaida connection that I found the Annie Downing record for the same date.

Failure to Yield Status

The relevance of this ticket, which was paid in full on 6/10/08,  in person, is critical. Why would this Zenaida show up to the Clerk’s Office the day before her scheduled mandatory arraignment  and pay one citation in full that did not require a court appearance? Is it possible she showed up and agreed to pay that one in full and plead no contest to the other so as to not have to appear the next day? The docket says defendant was present with counsel, but there is no counsel listed, which would be mandatory.  I attempted to get a transcript of this case proceeding, but was told due to the prosecutorial status, I could not. Who shows up to pay the ticket in full, appears at the arraignment, makes one payment and skips out on $260? My best guess is someone that is facing far worse.

On August 23, 2008, Annie Downing paid the $71.50 for the seat belt violation. It contains her method of payment so I have not referenced the receipt. The penalty for a seat belt fine is $30 in Florida. Because she would be responsible for another person in the front seat, if it was her car, the ticket references the  “driver” for both. A $60 fine for both seat belts plus tax and court fee of $11.50, sounds correct at $71.50. There is no other way to explain the amount of that fee for that summons.

Timeline of Events Theory 1

This is a lot of data to look at. While extremely compelling on it’s own, if you review the timeline against known events in the case against Casey Anthony, it is the totality of that evidence that forms this theory.

  • 05/24/08 - Casey gives false info as ZG when getting a traffic ticket, does not produce ID

  • 05/30/08 - Casey visits Jesse Grund at Arbor villas, did she ask him for help through OPD?

  • 06/ 03/08 - Summons changes to criminal traffic, arraignment scheduled 6/11/08. Notice sent.

  • 06/09/08 - An office belonging to a Zenaida Gonzalez, is burglarized and her computer stolen. This is also the original date that Casey gives for Caylee’s abduction by Zenaida. Casey and Caylee sleep at Ricardo’s that night. Is this the night she took her home in the middle of the night?

  • 06/10/08 - Casey/Zenaida pays the moving violation fine in full, in person, presumably makes arrangements for the other in an effort to not have to appear.

  • 06/11/08 - Unknown if she actually appeared posing as Zenaida, but court docket updated.

  • 06/12/08 -Forensic Computer Evidence located on Casey’s computer show she was searching on a Zenaida and a myspace profile.

  • 07/15/08 – Casey writes herself a check for  $250 cash and cashes it at  the downtown Bank of America at 1:24PM. A payment is made on this summons as this is the due date of $50 cash, in person. It should be noted there are 16 closer Bank of America locations that also have bank tellers, and 50 locations within a 17 mi radius. She chose this one, as it is less than a block from the Orange County Clerk’s Office, where the payment was made. Cindy finds Casey through Amy.

  • 08/15/08 - Payment was delinquent, then updated to reflect a $100 payment retroactively.

  • 08/18/08 - A copy fee of $4.00 is assessed to the account and status changed to prosecutorial

  • 12/10/08 - Default Notice Issued

  • 1/9/09-1/13/09 - Warrants Issued

Theory II

Annie Downing knows an actual Zenaida Gonzalez, birth date 1/11/86 and knows the connection between her and Casey. Admittedly, under both theories Casey would have had to know this name prior to Zenaida Gonzalez visiting Sawgrass Apartments on June 17, 2008. How did ZG come to visit Sawgrass in the first place? That has never been discussed. What other apartments if any did she visit that may be connected to Casey? Is it possible that the original date the manager thought was on the guest card of April 17, not June 17 is accurate? That would indicate that Casey somehow had that information linked to the Sawgrass prior to the 5/24/08 summons.

Theory III

There is no connection to the person receiving the tickets on 5/24/08 named Zenaida Gonzalez and Annie Downing or the Casey Anthony case whatsoever. It is an utter coincidence and this woman has not paid her fines because she is terrified, due to her unfortunate name, that coming out of the shadows will have her at the front line of the Baez firing squad.

Yes, I am being snark. Who’s going to be first to the clerk’s office to see if you can pull a copy of the citations with the Plate and Vin’s? They are not in these records either…

Such amazing investigative and collaborative work on the person that prepared the 3 scenarios and all the work to support them. Good Job!!! You need to be a P.I. or some other type of law enforcement personnel!!

    2. protectkidz on January 16th, 2009 2:07 pm

I don’t agree with any of these theories.

Good job on the research, but the first thing the cops did was run a search for Zenaida Gonzales.

They would have found this one right away since she’s in the system – even if no way to track her if Casey was pretending to be her, they would still be able to track to Annie in a heartbeat.

    3. bettejean on January 16th, 2009 2:07 pm

This is all quite interesting…Interesting also to note that the ZG whose computer was stolen at UCF on june 9 worked in the same building as nicole ganguzza, the jogger who was killed in blanchard park the very next night. Let’s make it more confusing: remember casey changing her story and saying zg threw her down at blanchard park and sped off with caylee on june 16? And her mysterious “blackjack phone” fell out of her purse in the process? The new phone she told police she had only had for about a week? Which means she would have gotten it around june 9 or 10, the same timeframe of nicole ganguzzas murder? And she said she stopped using it cuz it “wouldn’t hold its charge?” Well, interestingly enough, the cops found PART OF A CELL PHONE CHARGER near ganguzzas body. why oh why would our girl genius riddle herself into yet another crime scene?

Maybe someone needs to look at all the calls that were made on the ‘black-jack’ phone after Ms. Ganguzza was murdered and see if they can be connected to Casey. I agree with Bettejean… We are dealing with a psychopath.

    6. Von Kitty Kat on January 16th, 2009 2:29 pm

This is quite amazing and puzzling.
Was she setting up a false identity for herself ?
And, she is doing a MySpace search for a ZG just before Caylee goes missing. Well, I hope the ppl that have the original records can bloodhood the truth out of the original papers and Annie.

    7. Ponds on January 16th, 2009 2:40 pm

The citation numbers are totally different. If the citations were given at the same time, wouldn’t they be consecutive numbers?

    8. Danna on January 16th, 2009 2:42 pm

Man! This is just unreal! I want to know who that oficer was, like right now!

I wonder if it was Jesse or at least Jesse intervened for Casey. THEN we know that Jesse ‘lost his job’ in late June.

I want this chit to come to light. Now, I would not even be surprised if Casey or Annie can be connected to Ms. Ganguzza’s murder. Annie kind of seems to be ‘butch’. Casey at one time, somewhere, had indicated she was BI.

I also want to know just who this ‘Council’ was who was representing Zenaida/Casey. BAEZ????? If it was, then he should be arrested NOW. I think something stinks to high heaven here.

PLEASE do an update!!!! THANK YOU!!!

    10. HOPE on January 16th, 2009 3:05 pm

It looks like there was no sexual attack against Nicole, unlike the other attacks that had taken place at the park over the past couple years. The charges pending are kidnapping and murder.

How can we forget that there are women and girls that participate in violent acts, if for no other reason, for the notoriety? This video is disturbing:

Take a look at what some teenagers did to a ‘friend’ so they could put it on the internet. The link is on the bottom of the page of the video concerning Nicole.

Please note that the first reports said that her phone was in her car. The reports, thereafter, said that her purse was in the car and her phone charger was found with her body. She was taken from the park to another location… unlike the MO in the previous (sexual) attacks at Blanchard Park.

(I hope these links work) :)

Very interesting reading. Thought provoking and yet another twist with a turn to the A family story.

    13. bettejean on January 16th, 2009 3:31 pm

Unfortunately the blackjack phone has never been found, nor is there any real evidence she ever owned one to begin with…just her word, which we all know is worth nothing. But she claimed all ZG’s contact info was in that phone, along with all contact info for josh and juliette, the phantom universal employees who could backup her ridiculous kidnapping story…check out her jailhouse talk with lee about the blackjack…theres more code in there to be deciphered…

    14. HOPE on January 16th, 2009 3:44 pm

I find it creepy that she would call her phone

      ‘Black’ / ‘Jack’

Are there any cell-phone pings that can place her to the park or the post office on that evening?

    17. bettejean on January 16th, 2009 4:09 pm

I haven’t been able to find any ping records that go back that far. I do know that the week of june 9-12 she told her folks that she was in tampa with josh on a business trip. Needless to say, that is bogus.

Did the report say the charger found near ganguzzas body was a match for the phone in her car? Cuz if not it couldve fallen outta the killers pocket or bag…hence, the blackjack “wouldn’t keep its charge”…

    18. IP on January 16th, 2009 4:19 pm

      #2 There is identity theft?

If someone was going to go to the trouble to create a fake identity, one wonders just to what limit they would take this to. If te purpose was to create a fall guy, or in this case a Fall Nanny

Also, how does anyone know that LE is not aware of all this and are keeping it to themseleves much as they are Annie’s statement?

    19. Greg on January 16th, 2009 4:29 pm

      Great work Blink34.

My theory is that the Florida DMV and court system is so over loaded with illegal aliens driving without a drivers license, making this is a common event. All any person has to do is pay a fine, and it all goes away.

Casey Anthony AKA Zenaida Gonzalez, ect, ect. Used this ploy. Her usage of the name Zenaida Gonzalez and probably other names to take the fall for bad driving was a common practice. Where did she learn about this crack in the system? Her father? The bars around Orlando? If the courts have any video tapes of Casey showing up to pay the fines as Zenaida Gonzalez? It could really help to expose these actions.

    20. miklo on January 16th, 2009 4:46 pm

Call me crazy, but is it possible that Casey had some alter ego personality that she referred to as:
      “Zenaida Gonzales”?

Maybe she saw the name, “Zenaida Gonzales” on a leasing office application at that apartment complex, and that name stuck in her head.

Casey may have begun jokingly referring to her ficticious nanny, “Zenaida”, the way one might jokingly refer to “Jeeves, the chauffeur”.

But those closest to Casey knew she did not have a nanny, named “Zenaida Gonzales” but that she meant the nanny kidnapped her – secret code for Caylee is GONE.

The words, “She is close” describing the disposition of the child’s whereabouts was code for “I know where she is, and she’s not far from home”.

    21. Russ on January 16th, 2009 5:13 pm

If you listen to her say “In my gut, I think she is close to home”, she actually says “close to Hope” from how I hear it. I think she said and gave clues to exactly where Caylee was right from the beginning.

    22. LI_Mom on January 16th, 2009 7:22 pm

“My theory is that the Florida DMV and court system is so over loaded with illegal aliens driving without a drivers license, making this is a common event. All any person has to do is pay a fine, and it all goes away.”

If Casey got a ticket under an alias or even under her real name, I doubt she’d even worry about paying it. I’m sure ‘her’ car must be registered under her father’s name anyway, so why would she care if HIS license was suspended for not paying a fine?

Too bad there’s no vehicle description in these alleged tickets. I don’t see a description of the vehicle in those tickets. But I’m sure LE already checked it out & we’ll find out at her trial.

This definitely sounds like something Casey would do to evade being held responsible.

And frankly, I wouldn’t put it past her to be involved in MANY crimes over the years. Even murder of a stranger IF the person got in her way or made her feel less than special.

    23. Greg on January 16th, 2009 7:36 pm

Just saw Casey’s last rant behind bars on HN news with her father and mother. I wish the courts would keep this stuff private. The last visit was real sick.. She says Baez is not telling her family any of her new stories. Sounds like Baez is finally doing his job. Her chance for beating this rap. Is not a Zenaida Gonzalez defense.

    24. HOPE on January 16th, 2009 7:38 pm

This is cool… a sneak preview!

Are either of them, Annie or Casey, connected with the University?

    25. HOPE on January 16th, 2009 7:45 pm

      Oh, Yeah…

I was going to say that the numbers would not be consecutive on the tickets. They are given to the officer via dispatch.

    26. Blink34 on January 16th, 2009 7:59 pm

Greg- I agree she has no shot at a Zenaida defense. However, I think she is indefensible at this point. Baez is risking the girl’s life by not advising a plea.

To speak to a few comments on here, I want to be clear that my personal opinion is that there is no connection whatsoever to what happened to Caylee and the Nicole G homicide. IF KC had led with the ZG story and NG homicide upfront, I might think it possible from then. This was a co ink y dink read in the news that matched a relevant date, imo, no more.

Blink34, Yes I would like to see a plea deal.
Save the state of Florida millions on the trial.
Maybe Casey does not want a plea deal?
If the death penalty was back on table a plea might happen? A plea deal usually happens one to two weeks before trial.

Baez has been a lawyer for three years. I doubt he has handled this type of trial before.

I do think Floridians are more likely to convict.

My only question would be this:

Why would KC use a fake license? Her license is in fact valid. You can get her license number in the first doc dump, and you can check it right online:

It would make no sense for her to use a fake id with a friend in the car, especially if that friend is in the car and can produce insurance. I think you have a neat little coinkydink there.

    40. Karen on January 17th, 2009 6:19 am

    41. Blink34 on January 17th, 2009 7:36 am

Elizabeth, there is no way of knowing the status of her DL at the time, but there are several statements in the witness interviews that reference her not having a license on a few occasions. Whether she just lost it, didnt have it with her that occasion or other, one cant be sure.

The theories I presented for consideration will be clear to us in the coming days I am sure.

Imo, if it cannot be established the where, when, and why the ZG name surfaced, that is a problem in this case.

To the posters that feel this helps the ZG represented by John Morgan, I completely agree.

      For the HELL of it!

I knew a woman that had a policeman’s badge. All she had to do was flash it… doors opened. There was even a secret code (words) you could use to get past them. It keeps the insurance down and, usually, will get you out of a sErIoUs ticket.

Baez is bringing in a lot of experts to examine Caylee’s remains, I guess he doesn’t trust the FBI or the medical examiner…

Then he wants to cause problems for Tim Miller and Equiisearch by asking the judge for all the documents of the people that went on the search…there is no reason for that…Tim said that is confidential information and will not release one piece of paper…

just an fyi when you are trying to include really long url links. Go to http://www.tinyurl.com and reduce the long url string down to a more manageable one that can fit withing the comment area and not blow out the margins.

      Great article!
There is a Zanaida Gonzalez that works for the campus newspaper at UCF (the same college supposed baby daddy Jesus Ortiz attended I think back in 2006). Did Annie know Jesus at that time?
I think she came up with the name Zanny by putting Zanax plus Annie together – ZAnnie or Zanny. She and Annie D. probably joked about it. I bet that’s why none of Annie’s police interviews have been released. She knows about ‘Zanny.’

    50. MMAC on January 17th, 2009 10:58 am

It’s kind of a stupid theory, because the whole point of giving a fake name is to NOT have to pay a fine.

    51. CeeCee on January 17th, 2009 11:51 am

I would normally agree with the poster who thinks law enforcement would have conducted a thorough search and would have found all this immediately. However, this is FLORIDA we are talking about. Look how the tip from the meter reader was bungled. I lived in Florida for many years..believe me 3/4′s of the population (and especially those in “authority” are complete dips! People think that Florida has the same amount of intelligence as other states. Sorry to tell you….uh, no! Florida officials screw up everything…remember the chads and the presidential election? If little Miss Murderess gets off……blame FLORIDA!

    52. CeeCee on January 17th, 2009 11:53 am

p.s. Blink, you really should be in Law Enforcement… and do us all a favor and move to FL. They need you.

Peace and love to Caylee. I believe she is in a much better place – away from all of them.

    54. kc101 on January 17th, 2009 1:33 pm

She was probably using a fake i.d. to get credit cards! Maybe how she was making a living. Someone should pull some credit reports for a ZG. I know someone that did this and she was never suspected. This is what she did, she got mail from her bf mail. (which was credit card offers) applied in his name, set up a mailbox in the nearest town, with her bf’s name, forwarded all calls to home to her cell phone, cashed thousands of dollars in credit card checks at drive through
banks, and cashed some of them at wal-mart! Her bf never recieved any mail or phone calls! He never suspected anything until… he went to the bank to apply for a small loan and this bad credit showed up on his credit report! She also used credit cards to register a cell phone and was checking all incoming calls from her computer that was going to his house!

    56. bettejean on January 17th, 2009 5:40 pm

Just throwin this out there: maybe casey also had different aliases / identities for “escort services” she was working for…just to help cover her tracks. there were all those searches on her computer for agencies…hell, she could’ve used this catch-all character name of zenaida in any number of lesser crimes and scams.

I’m with you on that! Miss Universal, Hollywood-Style, right there in Disney World! I’m not too worried about Florida. There are people there from all over the world. I can’t wait until the death penalty gets slapped back on the table. At this point, I’d say ‘no deals’. If she plead down to 2nd degree murder, she’d be facing what? 20 Years? I’d put the death penalty back on the table and offer her life in prison. She’s young, but she’s also dangerous.

You have hit the nail on the head I am for 99.99% sure of it!!! Perhaps this is why the police were at the Anthony’s yesterday, Greta reported that Cindy was teary eyed and said she was not doing well-perhaps this information was leaked to the Anthony’s(the Annie/Zanny connection) and finally now they have to realize that their daughter was Zanaida!

Again this was a job well done researching!!!

    61. Gracie on January 17th, 2009 10:53 pm

Blink, did you consider the possiblity that you may have found the Zenaida in question? If not, why? If so, why is it not included in your theory section? Is your Orlando contection reliable and if so, why do you think that they are?

    62. Blink34 on January 18th, 2009 9:39 am

I love everyone’s ability to add their “smarts” and consider all possibilities here. Imo, thats what makes SM and other True crime sites great. I see it as an online think tank, so all respectful input, whether confirming or contradictory to the subject is welcome and should be.

Gracie- it is possible this is the “Zenaida” in question, but as I said in the piece, I had this info in July and kept an eye on it, I posted it at WS I believe, early on. I could never tie the birthdate and name to any records though, to this day, and I have some pretty good resources. That is one of the biggest indicators this does not add up. As far as the Orlando source, I do not comment on sources, not being glib or disrespectful, but if I did, they would not be sources anymore.. I am comfortable saying I brought the delinquency of the record to their attention, and with no further discussion the record was updated. I would say in the coming week their may be more light shed on this if I were the betting type..

    63. JWG on January 18th, 2009 10:23 am

Regarding the computer search for ZFG, note that the 6/12/08 date is a file creation date and does not mean that the search was done on that date.

Referring back to GA’s FBI interview, he indicated that he had done searches for ZFG using the home computer after KC told them ZFG had kidnapped Caylee. What you are seeing is likely a result of GA’s search.

    64. Slonky on January 18th, 2009 10:54 am

Well as per the jogger theory ,its out at the moment having read that she was sexually assaulted and they have DNA they are matching up ,but we have not heard back on that yet. Any other input on that ( the jogger ).

I too looked up ZG on the public clerk record a while back and did notice this ZG who is so close in age to Casey,I wondered if she did know her because there has to be a reason she used that name , besides the sawgrass guest card.

BLINK , do you know if the ZG that you are speaking of also has the hyphenated FERNANDEZ in her name. Spanish decents use their maiden names and it becomes hyphenated after they wed and so their last names become merged so to speak . So it is interesting to know if this ZG is married or had precious marriage .

      Please respond Blink.

    65. him on January 18th, 2009 11:22 am

Although I find this theory very interesting I have a question that I hope someone could answer for me. I went to the Clerk of Courts myself and looked up these tickets, and if I am reading them correctly The tickets given to ” Zenaida Gonzelez ” on 5/24/08 was by * Officer NARVAEZ * and the ticket to Annie Downing on 5/24/08 was given by * Officer CRENSHAW *
Though I find the timing of all of this a bit more than a coincidence, It’s the officers names that are throwing me off.

Wouldn’t these tickets have to be given by the same officer for them to be at the same place? If I am reading these wrong please let me know! Thank You! Here are the links

Regarding nicole ganguzza: I personally think casey either witnessed it, took part in it, or knows who did it. JMO. There’s too many wierd “riddle me this” parallels for me to shake the feeling that there isn’t some kind of tangentile connection. Again, JMO. I did notice caseys cell pings on June 17 have her in blanchard park for a full 3 hours, then at Little Econ later (the sites of ganguzzas murder). Originally LE thought she was burying caylee during that time, but now I wonder if she wasn’t returning to the scene of a different crime, for different reasons…

    67. Blink34 on January 18th, 2009 3:30 pm

him, respectfully I addressed that in the piece. My theory is that AD ticket was probably a function of ZG ticket; not presenting valid ID in a specific period of time, 6/3 to be exact, which transformed the ticket to criminal traffic court and required an arraignment.

An example.. in some instances, you get a warning for speeding, if you get stopped again within a certain time frame, sime jurisdictions if indicated on the original summons, will generate a summons converting the original warning to a ticket. There are are actually 4 different courthouses that a summons, regardless of location of the incident, can be filed.

Again, this is my theory and the other 2 theories cant be ruled out exclusively without review of the actual citations. I have seen AD’s, but was denied access to ZG’s.. thats all I know

    68. Blink34 on January 18th, 2009 3:38 pm

#64, I do not. As a rule public databases as far as confirming identity, especially in a common name situation, are largely unreliable.

While I encourage sleuthing, I would caution everyone to vett their information very carefully before ever assuming they are correct just because of a name match.

Also, regarding Nicole G, that is correct, the crime was sexualy motivated, I have no idea why I keep seing posts that was not the case..
Respectfully, I think it is nothing more than a coincidence on the dates, for starters, Caylee was not missing until 6/16 and Nicole was murdered 6/10??

    69. Gracie on January 18th, 2009 8:39 pm

It sounds like your source may be in LE, since the ticket was paid on so quickly and they would have the benefit of it not getting noticed by the media before Casey was indicted and back behind bars. So, Blink, what if this is “the Zenaida”? It would stand to reason that she wouldn’t want to be anywhere around a courtroom, if she were the one. That name is not going to go unnoticed in Florida. BTW, I appreciate that you aren’t upset by the questions. ;)

    70. SoCalGal on January 18th, 2009 9:19 pm

Love the theory but is legally flawed. The citation given to Annie D. is per a specific vehicle code section and subsection–operating a motor vehicle without a seatbelt. She had to have been the driver to get the ticket under this subsection–if she were a passenger and the operator was driving her car she could not legally get this ticket. That’s the law. Second, it’s impermissible for an officer in Florida to give a ticket after the fact–also from a common sense pov the officer who gave the ZG ticket would have no knowledge of what happened to the ticket afterward so as to write a subsequent ticket to the owner of the car for another infraction. Third, the officers who WROTE the summonses are listed on each summons and they are different officers. That is the law–and that’s because a summons is in lieu of an arrest (yes, you can legall be arrested for a traffice infraction)-so only the “arresting” officer who observed the infraction is permitted to write the summons. Iinteresting reading however. PS If one give a fake name one normally does so for the purpose of not having to pay the fine–makes no sense to give a fake name–which is a much more serious offense–and then show up to pay or to show up in court with the possibility that you could be found out and arrested on a felony charge.

    71. Blink34 on January 18th, 2009 9:53 pm

JWG- the file creation date of 6/12/08 is very pertinent, it identifies the first search in my report, the 7/16 date, where you reference George’s search, is the “writeover”..

Forensically, this user searched for Zenaida on 6/12/08 no question.

Gracie- no problem, I dont care about being right or wrong, as long as it progresses answers. Whether or not is the “ZG” we are all going to have to wait and see.. As I said, I could not confirm the ID based on name and birthdate, so regardless, something is rotten in Disney..

You ever notice how Cop’s kids don’t get caught until they’re in BIG trouble? They take care of their own. That’s a fact. And… They’re all a bunch of control freaks, usually. They learn it from their parents, that’s true. And they have to be comfortable being in control to be in that line of work. If their child happened to be psycho at the same time, she may have crimes that are tied to days, rather than dates???

But, what does it mean to be a cell phone with the name ‘Black Jack’? Would it mean a phone you ‘jacked’ off a black person? That’s a weird coincidence. What if she did something to Nicole and left something of Zenieda’s there to make it look like Zenieda was a sick puppy?

      Zenieda’s stolen computer?

      That’s amazing!

      Black/Jacked Phone of Zeneida’s?

    75. JC on January 19th, 2009 1:22 am

Blink, sorry the file that is referenced is the index.dat….the url in that file. Do a search for index.dat and you’ll see that it is a database of urls in this case, seeing the path of the index.dat in this case. You can’t say that the search was done on 6-12…..You can say that a url was looked at between 6-12 and 7-16…that’s all you can tell from the Created and Last Written Date. Anyway, it’s an interesting read none-the-less. Of course LE should have the date when that url was last browsed since they have access to the index.dat.

    76. bettejean on January 19th, 2009 3:39 am

About the xanax-annie connection: there are some text messages in the doc drop where casey refers to annie as her connection for xanax. Also a couple friends had heard casey call her “Zanny Annie.” That’s where it all started I bet. Then when Casey started using zanax on Caylee it evolved into “Zanny the Nanny.” When someone asked her what Zanny’s short for, “Zenaida” fit the bill. At whatever point she decided to kill her baby, she actually started to create a fall nanny, as someone else put it. Very tasty food for thought…

    77. Susan on January 19th, 2009 9:23 am

In reference to comment #70 (SoCalGal) – Also, the officer would have ran the license plate number thru the DMV database, which would reveal who the car is registered to…

Just my two cents worth :-)

    78. Blink34 on January 19th, 2009 9:26 am

JC, thanks for posting that but you have officially gone over my head..It was widely reported that the ZG searches actually started in June a few days after that doc dump, so I will have to leave it to the experts on that one.

On the Xanax and Annie, that is correct, I have also seen some now deleted facebook entries from her stating that she has been referred to as a drug dealer because of that text message and she is clearly not happy.

    79. GinnyG on January 19th, 2009 10:22 am

The problem with this theory & the citation, Annie Downing & ZFG being casey is this:

Annie’s last name is DOWLING, not DOWNING

so…did Annie DOWLING have a phony id with DOWNING as the last name, or is it a totally different person?
SM: Her name is Annie Downing according to friend Sean Daly in Sean’s statement to LE (klaasend)

    80. elizabeth on January 19th, 2009 10:45 am

You are incorrect on the computer forensics.

      Allow me to illustrate.

I did a search on my own computer on the c drive for index.dat – which is what part of the search for on KC’s computer was, and is where the 6/12 ZG search confusion comes into play.

      Look at this image:

      You can see
      the name of the file
where the file is located on my harddrive
Date Modified (which the forensic tool used calls Date Accessed)
      Date Created

You can see a variety of creation dates. Most are 3/28/08 – this was the day I reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled my OS.

The 12/28/08 creation date was the last time I cleaned my hard drive of temp files, etc. I use CCleaner, and I configure it to leave certain things. I could tell it to remove all index.dat files but I don’t because I like my cookies and other files and rarely delete them.

Your average computer user does not delete index.dat files, and they do not get overwritten. The index.dat files are appended to.

      Hope this helps.

    81. SoCalGal on January 19th, 2009 11:59 am

Blink–having worked in the justice system as an attorney, arbitrator & judge for about 25+ years–I think it is all just a startling coincidence. Astounding coincidences happen all the time. My feelings are the same re the gonzalez and zanaida home ownership names near the crime scene. BTW, ZG is not that rare of a name in Florida. But then again, maybe KC was driving around with Annie and was stopped and gave a false name–then they switched cars or drivers because of that – and then Annie got a ticket. Annie’s interview has to contain some explosive stuff because it hasn’t been released yet. Great sleuthing on your part, IMO.

    82. Jeremy on January 19th, 2009 1:35 pm

I must disagree and I do not feel this is just a mere astounding coincidence(coincidences do occur but not as often and as miraculously in this case)-although perhaps there are some flaws such as the plate/vehicle registration.

I do feel that the State’s attorney’s office is onto this as well as OCSO etc. Otherwise the ticket would not have gone into paid status back in August when obviously no payment was made.(Casey-Zanaida) was incarcerated. Plus if this was a real Zanaida once the warrant was issued she would be picked up and booked-and I do not see this happening and that warrant was issued the 9th-13th-over a week.

I really think Blink34 is onto a very good lead which will help to unravel the mystery-of course the testimony of Annie Downing-yes that is her name I don’t know why people keep saying her name is ‘Dowling’ because that is not true. Annie’s testimony will be used to squash the defense idea of the Babysitter Zanni did it. Think about it!!!

So yes I agree with Blink34 and I also do believe there will be some developments coming out on this in the coming weeks.

    83. Blink34 on January 19th, 2009 1:49 pm

#79, GinnyG, in fairness to you, Annie’s name is mispelled on the State’s Witness list, but hey, maybe that is another line of support for the theory.. Maybe it was mispelled on purpose to stave off the sleuthers.. Her name is Downing, as referenced by the Sean Daly interview as Klaasend so efficiently pointed out, as well as Jeff Hopkins and Dante Salati (name also mispelled)interviews.

#81 SoCal- LOL, so you agree it IS POSSIBLE AT LEAST.. I agree about the home ownership being a conincidence, until someone produces a copy of the citation for ZG referenced in the article indicating otherwise, I am a hold out on the theory, but admit it may very well be door #3 as well.

    84. barbinez on January 19th, 2009 2:44 pm

      Interesting stuff!
I just have a couple issues with your theory #1. First, Annie’s ticket states that she is charged for “sealtbelt not worn by DRIVER.” If she was just the passenger riding along with Casey, wouldn’t the ticket reflect that?
And second, can’t you just look at Zenaida’s tickets, and compare those to Annie’s, and see if the location/address and the time of day are listed on the ticket to see if they match up?

But a really strange coincidence if your theory is not the case.

JR: Uhm, I really don’t know as much as maybe other people would have. And the only times I hung out with her were really at Fusion. I don’t really recall actually seeing her out of Fusion. I was suppose to hang out with her one night out of Fusion.

      YM: Uh-hum (affirmative)

JR: Which she uhm, not that you bring to my attention, she did call me and say she couldn’t hang out. She was with another friend in downtown. She had just
gotten a speeding ticket and that she uhm, she said she was just going to stay in
Orlando if we wanted to drive out there. And…

YM: And the re…the reason she didn’t hang out was because she had just gotten a speeding ticket?

JR: Right. She was in Orlando. She had to run with a friend to Orlando.

      YM: Uh-hum (affirmative)

JR: We live out in G…Oviedo.

Fl seat belt law over 18 whether passenger or driver , whomever is convicted of such is responsible themselves , passenger or driver so YES ANNIE LEIGH DOWNING would get and pay her own ticket.

LE do have ability to pull up photo id of DL though ,so did they and if they did maybe casey presented an expired DL of ZG that she stole …….remember when LE were at the Anthony home on 7-15 Cindy dumped casey purse out and LE took her wallet ,pulled out a plastic card and took it no one knows what that was , well maybe it was ZG expired old license that casey stole?

also there is a real ZG with a birth date of 1-11-86 who has ties to ANNIE possibly casey too ……so we know a 23 year old ZG exists ..

      Where is she now ?

That stuck in my head so I just took another look considering Blink’s new info re: the 7/15 BoA check cashed & $50 payment made for ZG’s violation…

      OK…here’s a beautiful thing….

IMHO, that detour that APPEARED to be to Ric & Amy’s ref’d by JWG above was ACTUALLY to the Orange County Clerk’s Office @ 425 N. Orange Avenue to pay the $50 fee that is shown in Blink’s post http://scaredmonkeys.com/2009/01/16/…traffic-court/ after stopping @ BoA, 390 N Orange Ave, @ 1:24PM a short distance away to cash the $250 check. Prolly all a single park’n walk.

Note that this event is also INDEPENDENTLY described by Jamie R.’s account of 7/15 Casey being downtown to deal w/ a speeding ticket & ping info of their exchange just before Noon.

All supported by the pings, statements, and BoA video surveillance.

Casey is sooooooooooooooooooooooo nailed as posing as ZG.

Thanks for hashing out the corresponding phone data

    89. Jenny on January 20th, 2009 2:50 pm

Yes, I think Casey was posing at ZG and it was her alias if ever caught doing anything wrong. The day she snapped with Caylee, she had to find someone to blame this on, so why not someone who really doesn’t exist. She had all the info she needed on ZG to make her seem like a real person, so why not. I think Annie is going to spill the whole set up of the game and Casey is going down! I also think she was “running drugs” every day (since she wasn’t working) and this is how she got by. Caylee got in the way. As a drug runner, she had to have an alias.

How does this explain RG, hearing the name of the nanny in 2006, and Zanny being referred to with Anthony R as the nanny? Zanny was referenced by Casey as the nanny many times over a 2 yr period. I’m not sure I’m understanding this theory completely.

    92. Slonky on January 20th, 2009 5:25 pm

How can the above poster say that ZG does not exist …..the ZG at the clerk office has a birthday ! ZG was born 1-11-86 , I am not saying Casey wasn;t using her ID or anything and posing as her ,but the ZG suing CASEY is off base and the case is baseless , the real ZG she allegedly posed as is of question ,concerning Blinks theorys’ which are very plausable.

    93. Jeremy on January 20th, 2009 10:23 pm

I went to the OC document page and saw the signature-now I need cursice samples from Casey to do a comparison. On a side note-I now know how Casey got that Zenaida was born in New York–there is a marriage license on there from 2005 for a Zenaida Gonzalez showing birthplace–New York!!!! makes you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

    94. JC on January 21st, 2009 5:10 am

I notice people posting about the pings as proof, but from what I saw of the pings at the time, she doesn’t stop long enough to pay anything. We are talking 10 minutes at the most….

unless Florida has super quick service and she’s running to and from her car, then driving very fast, just seems unlikely she is going into any government office to pay anything. Of course this is just my own opinion, as anything is possible…a cell tower being busy so the call or text is sent from a less busy one…but still.

    95. Jeremy on January 21st, 2009 9:02 am

I would like to add IMO that Casey was planning this. I feel she was trying to create a fake Zenaida Gonzalez by making this ticket thing happen. I guess I could almost go out on a limb and say she intentionally got the ticket as to start a case file for a Zenaida Gonzalez.(one she knew would appear online) I say this because she also must have obtained the imaginary babysitters birthplace of New York from these same records-(examine another Zenaida Gonzalez birtplace from her marriage application record in 2005!)Surprise surprise. Also by May 24th she had been bedding probably half the OCSO. She wasn’t all that foolish as to pull suttle information from those officers. She knew what she could do to get the Zenaida plan in action. make it look like Zenaida was skipping town not to pay her civil penalty. She had no intentions of paying that civil penalty past July–this would be her attempt to cast belief (in Caseys mind) to LE that there was a Zenaida and that she skipped town after kidnapping Caylee-hence her not paying her penalty even after she paid the first payment. That first payment is crucial-as it makes it look like Zenaida was going to comply, until she supposedly kidnapped the baby and thus would not return to keep paying on her penalty.

I am also sure that Casey probably practiced this faux signature of Zenaida-did LE seize notebooks from the Anthony home in December-shortly after finding the remains–perhaps to compare signatures with the 6.11.08 document signature of Zenaida Gonzalez. Casey just didn’t go in there on the 10th and sign the name Zenaida Gonzalez–I am sure she had been practicing a fake signature-I do remember seeing casey scribbling Casey Lazarro and stuff like that-so she has been known to practice writing signatures.

I also can 99.9% guarantee that whatever Annie has told LE is in some way related to this as they must have a reason to keep it all hush. I just hope that this is the extent of Annie’s involvement-knowing Casey used the Zenaida name to LE the night she was cited on May 24th. I feel Casey had been planning this ever since she began using the Zanni name some say as early as mid 2007.

Perhaps this will be the smoking gun in this case, and then the forensics such as pings etc will go back and help recreate this story. Are there any known samples of Caseys natural signature(cursive) perhaps though she has been writing differently to throw people off and not to suspect her. I must say the document I examined looked as if the signature is contrived-especially the ‘G’ in Gonzalez–it looks like someone wrote it who usually doesn’t use a G(maybe like someone who usually signs their name Casey Marie Anthony-notice the absence of the G) in their name-it just looks like it is a forced letter signature.(if that makes sense) I am no handwriting expert, but I am sure one could attest to the fact discontinuities are looked into when examining signatures for authentication. Perhaps someone can screen capture the z from when she wrote ‘Casey Marie Lazzaro’ and compare that to the ‘z’s in the 6.11.08 Gon’z'ale’z’ signature.(I will assume they match closely)

Gracie, the only thing I can come up with to your question:
      1) They all know a Zenaida in their age group, and they just decided to use her name.

      2) Zanny is the reference to xanax, or the nursery book, and has no basis to Zenaida.

lol, that’s all I got on that one

    97. Jeremy on January 21st, 2009 1:54 pm

Well they could have come up with the name Zenaida as long ago as possible-regardless if it meant Xanax or from the Zanni Nanny book-well they decided upon that name-for whatever reason. Anyhow, even though it is Florida with a large hispanic population-I feel she still picked the name Zenaida as it seems more uncommon then lets say (Bob Smith or Jane Smith-just for example purposes. I mean plus the prevelance of there being a Zenaida down there just indicated that it would make her request for law enforcement to search all that easier if lets say there are only 25 Zanni Gonz. compared to 300 Smiths….plus she was still able to use the commonality of the hispanic name-and don’t tell me she didn’t understand culture down there or have a general understanding at a basic level-especially at her feeble attempts to intersplice spanish words in her everyday speak and text messages(which agitates me completely)

She had some previous knowledge heck she might have even taken a lower level Spanish class in high school before she got pregnant and didn’t graduate, but she obviously doesn’t understand a a great deal such as the hypenated surname rules of hispanic cultures-especially after she says Zanni was single or said that she got one name from her father and the other from her mothers side. Well, in Spanish a last name is not called a last name (último nombre would be the literal translation of last name and it is meaningless in Spanish). In Spanish, the last name has a name of its own, it is called apellido. The proper translation to English is surname, a term that is seldom used in the U.S. Surname (or apellido) does not mean “last.” So, when you talk about someone’s last name you talk about their apellidos (surnames) since there are two of them. The two surnames are referred as the first apellido and the second apellido.

I am just not sure of Casey was familiar even living in Florida. I still think she made this name up to have some sort of escape plan-much like her failed ploy Operation Kill Caylee which had it’s unfortunate result of the loss of a beautiful 2year 10month old.

KC did graduate – she didn’t graduate on time, but she did get her diploma.

I came across the other website for the known Casey Lazarro signatures at the following link:(page 30)

I am trying to find similarities and I think the ‘n’ and the ‘a’ and ‘o’ look very similar. I wonder if LE experts have examined these documents?

    100. Sue on January 23rd, 2009 5:46 am

Do a Search for Casey Anthony’s Original written statement and you will have plenty to compare her handwiting with. If I have a chance I will find the link and post it here.

Here is the actual handwritten statement by Casey Anthony. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/1473802/Statement—Casey-Anthony-Written-2008-0715

    102. Blink34 on January 23rd, 2009 10:39 am

The clerk filled out the form, fyi, the signature imo looks purposefully “off”.. but that is my opinion. i find it interesting that no-one is producing the file from this courthouse.

    103. Jeremy on January 23rd, 2009 1:10 pm

Exactly, so the upper part that is handwritten is in fact the clerks handwriting which in a way also resembles Casey’s bubbly print font, but the signature does look purposefully designed differently so to say-with some still stunning characterisitics from Casey’s cursive-such as the ‘n’ the second hump is slightly higher in both signatures.(could be a subconcious thing). I wish the file would be produced from the courthouse-also no update on the writ of bodily attachment has not yet shown if it has been served and most likely it won’t because the real Zenaida is in jail as inmate # 08049710!!!

Why don’t you find something else to do and let the cops do their job. Jeez, you never know when enough is enough.

    109. Ariane on January 26th, 2009 7:06 am

It’s an interesting theory that Casey would pose as ZG to create in advance a “scapenannygoat” to later blame.
but I see some problems with the specifics:

      >> If they were stopped in the same vehicle and both given citations, wouldnt the citation numbers have been consecutive (from the officer’s ticket book?) Instead they are not even close.

      >> As I think someone mentioned, Annie’s ticket is for being the driver w/o seat belt.

So it seems there WAS a coincidence that Annie and a ZG separately got tickets the same day. (Of course that would not absolutely rule out Casey playing the role of ZG. But Annie’s ticket does not add to the likelihood of that.)

      >> The info Casey gave LE (that ZFG was 25 years old and her birthday was in September) doesnt match with the birth date given by the ZG who got the ticket (22 and her birthday in January.) I would think if Casey had created this false persona, intending for LE to discover the record and zero in on this non-existant ZG, she would have given them the same age and birthday month.

      >>Casey seemed to be always trying to beg, borrow or steal money. It’s hard to imagine her actually bothering to pay debts under another name. I understand your reasoning that she meant to make it look like the woman had been paying but then disappeared…. but I would bet when it came down to actually paying, she’d think, “Hey, I already established a record of this ZG, why should I also have to give them MONEY for ‘her’ traffic ticket, when I could go shopping instead?!”

Wink43- out of over 100 well constructed, intelligent posts, both in support and contradictory, I guess we were due for the Captain Aimless award. Congrats. Apparently you have not read the piece, or you would have gathered as everyone else on here did, that LE has very much done their job, and if you feel I fall under the category of “enough”, please feel free to ignore my posts. I respect this community here and the contributors to it, I request you do the same.

How do you explain the $100 payment on 8-15-08? Wasn’t Casey in jail on that date?

    112. Z-sleuth on January 28th, 2009 12:12 am

Never mind. I just re-read it and saw this, which I had forgotten:

“It actually went delinquent on 8/20/08 and I found this important as Casey was incarcerated then and I was suspicious of the connection. I brought it to the attention of a source in Orlando, and I advised the source if there was anything to this issue relative to Casey’s case, someone had better do something to stop a bench warrant from being issued or the press would be all over it. Upon checking the next day it had been corrected retroactively to reflect the $100 payment on 8/15/08.”

      Very interesting!

    113. Angel on January 30th, 2009 3:02 am

This is a very interesting article. I was just reading Jamie Realander’s interview—she’s a shot girl at Fusion. She said that sometime in June, she was supposed to hang out with Casey and Casey canceled b/c she got a speeding ticket. Perhaps she’s referring to this incident. Granted the dates are wrong (but close) and Casey always adds a bit of truth in her lies.

    114. Jan on January 31st, 2009 8:51 pm

Do you know that the birthdate you gave actually goes to Zenaida ARROYO that went to school with Casey? I am not sure if the Gonzalez name also connects to her or not.

    115. Jan on January 31st, 2009 9:04 pm

Sorry, I was wrong about the Zenaida Arroyo…she was just born in 1986. I looked at it wrong.

    116. Sue on February 4th, 2009 11:20 pm

BTW The Zeniada Gonzales that visted Sawgrass to check out the apartment had New York Plates on her car.

    118. ann on February 8th, 2009 1:33 am

I dont believe there is anything of a strange coincidence going on here. There is evidence which supports the fact that Anthony used the name Zen Gonzalez as an alias.
I have wondered to myself how Anthony had not become known to the authorities herself-as it is obvious that she engaged in petty theft & had been doing so for sometime prior to june 2008.
Whilst reading your post-George Anthony’s description of Casey Anthony’s ability to forge a bank paymet stub/slip came to mind. (George seemed rather impressed at her skill-He almost came across, as if he was in awe of her ability & technique) I wonder if she has anything on her record-juvenille hall???

    119. ann on February 8th, 2009 1:36 am

Actually I would like to pose the question,Where did/does Ricardo Morralles work? I am curious as I believe that he told LE that he was not a friend of Annie Downing, but he knew her, as she worked at the same place of work???????????

    120. slonky on February 9th, 2009 5:45 pm

Ricardo said he worked at a car dealership . I don’t recall the name or that Ricardo said he knew Annie from work .

      Anyone else remember?
