What is it With Obama Democratic Cabinet Nominees and Not Paying Taxes, First Geithner Now Daschle

There are now three certainties … Nothing is certain but DEATH, TAXES and Democrats Tom_Daschlewill get a free pass and a Cabinet position after having not paid their taxes. Obama choice for Health and Human Services Secretary-designate Tom Daschle has not paid his taxes either? Does anyone not see a real issues with this and a double standard? Think the IRS will be so generous and understanding to you?

A funny thing has happened on the way to Barack Obama choosing his Presidential Cabinet, he is finding that this superior intellect Democrats have not paid their taxes. This time it’s Heath and Human Secretary designate Tom Daschle who has not paid taxes to the IRS. The tax issue was learned by the White House during the vetting process of Daschle. He recently filed amended tax returns to report $128,203 in back taxes and $11,964 interest.

Most of the additional taxes resulted from unreported income from the use of a car service provided him by a close friend and business associate, Leo Hindery Jr. The unreported income for that service totaled more than $250,000 over three years.

Daschle also had unreported consulting income of $88,333, in 2007. He also had reductions to charitable contributions totaling about $15,000 over the three years covered, according to the Senate Finance Committee document. The document, marked “Confidential Draft,” is a committee statement concerning Daschle’s nomination.

In the past such an embarrassing hit as being a tax cheat would have been fatal to a nominee; however, not when the Obamamessiah has chosen you and is committed to your nomination. Once again we are learning that there are a different set of rules for Democrats.

Back on The Market: Drew Peterson Dumped by Christina Raines

DREW PETERSON IS BACK ON THE MARKET AND AVAILABLE!!!

If you can get past how anyone can find this guy remotely engaging, you are probably Drew Peterson5one of those, “There’s a lid for every pot” people. That being said, if your singles profile has the box checked for: man most likely to be a murderer and indicted soon, then you will be glad to know Drew Peterson is up for grabs again.

Christina Raines, 24, mother of 2 and waitress in Bolingbrook, Ill was given an ultimatum by her Daddy. Ernie Raines came to Peterson’s home Friday morning with a news crew and the police and demanded that his daughter leave.  She returned the ring ,cell phone and  with any luck her common sense.  While it is a better exit strategy than Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson got, I am at a loss as to who would  risk a trip in the big blue barrel for this *person*.

Christina’s Father is to be commended. I don’t even care if he got paid to do it. She’s out, in one piece as were her children; crisis averted for now.

Hearing Today in the Casey/Caylee Anthony Case

Casey Anthony seen smiling in court today:

 MOTIONS:

1. VISIT CRIME SCENE - APPROVED

The hearing began at 8:35am with Judge Stan Strickland quickly supporting the defense’s motion to gain access to the scene where Caylee’s remains were found. Sheaffer told Eyewitness News the defense team’s insistence on examining the crime scene at this point defies logic.

“I’m some what mystified to find a logical point for this repeated motion to visit the crime scene. It can yield nothing of evidentiary value either to the state or to the defense at this time,” said Sheaffer.

2. OBTAIN TES SEARCH RECORDS/SEARCHER INFO judge will rule on this afternoon but will likely be denied.

The second motion involved Texas EquuSearch, the group that searched for Caylee Anthony. Baez was seeking more information from the group about their searches. The judge said he would rule Friday afternoon, but said he would deny the motion if Baez couldn’t provide more support for his arguments by noon. A third motion, filed by the state and involving the defense’s witness list, was determined to be moot due to an amended witness list that was provided after the state had already filed their motion.

3. EMERGENCY MOTION TO RECUSE THE PROSECUTORSDENIED

The final motion involved Baez’s emergency motion to recuse . Baez filed the motion to have prosecutors working on the case thrown off. Baez said the State Attorney’s complaint to the Florida Bar against him was prejudicial and an attempt to interfere with Casey’s right to council.

Will update this afternoon with judges final decision on the TES issue.

UPDATE I: Equusearch motion DENIED

Bye, Bye Blago … Illinois Governor Blagojevich Impeached 59-0

Thursday as the Illinois Senate convened to determine Governor Rod Blagojevich’s future there were 3 certainties … death, taxes and that Blago would be impeached. The Illinois Senate did not disappoint as they voted 59–0 to impeach and oust Rod Blagojevich as Governor of Illinois.

The Illinois Senate removed Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich from office Thursday, convicting him on an article of impeachment that alleged a pattern of abuse of power.

The vote, 59 to 0, ended nearly two months of political spectacle in which Mr. Blagojevich, a second-term Democrat who rose from the ranks of Chicago ward politics on the strength of his charisma and the connections of his wife’s family, sought to salvage his career and reputation.

As Blago insisted that he was innocent, committed no crimes and his goal was always to help the people, the Illinois Senate for good measure then passed another vote 59–0 barred Democrat Blagojevich from ever again holding public office in the state.

Casey/Caylee Anthony Case: Why we SO Care How Team Baez et al, is Getting Paid

Losing his round of judicial dodge ball has defense attorney to Casey Anthony Baez_josemuttering something about mincemeat.  “Anonymous” from the State’s attorney’s office, who apparently takes their ethical responsibilities as an officer of the court seriously, filed a complaint against Baez, citing his own spokesperson’s words.  Yep, Blink, we are all up to date on that, where ya going with this? Glad you asked. The actual video of Baez stating that Black does work for “us” meaning his defense team, notwithstanding, the potential for a possible conflict of interest on the part of Baez is the 800 lb Gorilla in every law office in Florida.

I have spoken with the two highest profile attorneys in the state who wish to be anonymous for this article. They expressed their sense is that the legal community in general is outraged at the egregious lack of professionalism and mockery of Floridian Jurisprudence   Baez is exhibiting with his playground antics.  That isn’t the half of it.  If there is ANY *whiff* of truth that Baez fees are being paid through an entertainment or rights agreement this needs to investigated immediately.  What I am clueless about is why this has not been done already. I have personally been told by people that were in the house or offices when the negotiations and/or discussions were going on about this, that it is true. Get Leo on the horn, call Skip Davis, and ask THEM YOURSELF, and then call ACAP already

Conflict of interest and YOU- The Taxpayer

“Everyone involved in this case gets body-slammed..” my dear friend Tim Miller says.

He’s right. I have, he has, OCSO has, and you all have vicariously. However, there is   the potential for very serious financial fallout to the taxpayers of Florida in the midst of a recession. Warning:  This will frost your shorts.
