Roy Kronk, Meter Reader Utility Worker Who Found Caylee Anthony’s Remains to Have News Conference

The utility worker, meter reader, who found the remains of Caylee Anthony last week will have a news conference this afternoon at 3:30 eastern. Utility worker Roy Kronk and his attorney David Evans will address the public.

However, since the discovery of the remains last week there have been two revelations.

  • 1. The meter reader had actually called the police tip line of three separate occasions with new regarding the case.
  • 2. Caylee Anthony was officially ID’d this afternoon by the medical examiner.

See video live here.

UPDATE I: Utility Worker Roy Kronk’s attorney States his Client has no Caylee_RoyKronk2Connection to Caylee/Casey Anthony Case

In a prepared statement this afternoon at a press conference in Florida, Attorney David Evans said that his client, Roy Kronk, “has no connection to this case or to the Anthony family.” He also said that those that have speculated that his client has a connection could not be more wrong.

UPDATE II: Attorney Evans called Kronk a “concerned citizen” with no other connection to the case

Roy Kronk said Friday that he found the remains while working near the home of Caylee’s grandparents.

He says he also had notified authorities in August that he had “spotted something suspicious – a bag” in the same area.

He declined to elaborate further, saying only that he continues to cooperate with the investigation.

Kronk’s attorney, David Evans, said he came forward to deter the media from pursuing his co-workers. Evans said Kronk would make no further statements.

Evans called Kronk a “concerned citizen” with no other connection to the case.

UPDATE III: Kronk States He has been and will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation

The meter reader came forward Friday afternoon. Roy Kronk, 46, read a short statement confirming he’d called authorities three times before the remains were discovered.

“I have been and will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation with the Sheriff’s Office and the FBI,” said Kronk. “I respectfully decline to get into details about what I saw at the crime scene.”

Kronk refused to answer questions and said he would not grant any interviews.

“His participation in this matter is strictly as a concerned citizen with a sharp eye and good instincts and perseverance. He has no connection whatsoever to this case. He has no connection to the Anthony family… Those who have speculated to the contrary could not be more wrong,” said David Evans, Kronk’s lawyer.

Roy deserves his moment of glory – ! He did what all of us only think we would do. He didn’t have to call, he didn’t have to follow up, he cared enough to do that…. I know him well, and would have to say — I’m not the least bit surprised that his perseverance paid off. For the sake of Caylee’s family I say – Thank you for being YOU ROY !!!!!!! X-wife

I would like to know if they police did follow up on the tips from Roy and if so why they were unable to find the evidence? If he called in three times in early August and they checked it out and found nothing they should have contacted him and got him to take them to where he found this evidence back in August instead of 4 months later. I don’t want to jump to conclusions but something is not right. Thank God Roy was persistent and took the initiative to check it out for himself. Wonder if l.e. had any plans to check that area. I know that at one time it was under water but were there ever any plans to go back later and check after the waters receded? The fact that the remains were found so close to the Anthony’s home is very suspicious. If Casey didn’t kill her & place her there, who did? Is the defense going to try & make it look like someone is trying to frame the Anthony’s? I sincerely hope they solve this case. My gut tells me that Casey is guilty but one is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Too many questions need to be answered with the truth and Casey, Cindy, George & Lee all need to tell the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth and stop with all these lies. The baby is dead and she deserves justice for whoever did this to her. That whole family needs help. They are one messed up family. Poor Caylee never had a chance at a normal life with that family. She is in a better place now and will never have to hurt again.

As to the question whether that area was scheduled to be searched. I believe that Tim was planning on searching it after the water level receded. But, obviously, with all the money that he had spent on the searches that he performed in Orlando, under the scrutiny of a family that didn’t appreciate his efforts, well, you get my drift. Besides, Padilla made the WHOLE thing a circus atmosphere that Tim no longer wanted to be a part of. IMO

      Again, Thank you Roy…

    18. MBS on December 19th, 2008 7:45 pm

It’s starting to look as if the police did not do a very good job following up on Roy’s tips. I heard on Fox that the detective sent to clear the scene could not do a thorough search because of a large snake in the area? If that is true, someone should have been sent back to search the area, when the snake was gone, or to shoot the snake so they could do a thorough search. Just so sad, she should have been found long ago.

    19. Susan on December 19th, 2008 8:07 pm

Hope – You are probably right, although those MONSTERS (Cindy and George) are not fit nor do they deserve to blessed or honored to be in little Caylee’s presence ever again. I do believe Cindy and George loved (and still do love) Caylee, but they both failed her MISERABLY!! For that, they should both be ashamed for the part they’ve played in Caylee’s death. This never had to happen :-(

Yep, Leonard Padilla is such an idiot!

    20. Chelsie on December 19th, 2008 8:08 pm

I have been wondering if anyone has the same thought as I do. Me personally if I saw a strange bag in an area where there is a small child missing and the police said they didn’t find anything, I would go and open it myself or find someone to open it or go with me at least. I would not however wait a few more months and report it agian. Give me a break. Something is fishy about that. Now I am not saying he had anything really to do with it( everyone is assumed inosent until proven guilty, that goes for the mother as well), but why wouldn’t he have done something if the police kept telling him nothing was there and yet he saw it a few more times still in the same place. I really think the police need to be under investigation as well, if this was reported 3 times and he even took them to the site, ( which i must add was right by the road, kinda hard for them to miss it if they opened thier eyes) then who in this department was keeping tabs? Lets also say that maybe the police officer did go down and look and he really didn’t see anything, then that would most likely mean that the bag had been placed there later on…. just another thing to look at. Police need to really be on the ball with this one.

    21. C.G. on December 19th, 2008 10:46 pm

What I have to say is shocking and hard to digest but at least consider the evidence.

Ray Kronk, the hguy who “found” Caylee said in his offical statement, I had to urinate so I went in to the woods…” Here’s the thing…in a recorded conversation with his supervisor after he found the body, he told his super that he lives on Hopespring…less than half a block from where Caylee was “found”. The same street as the Anthony’s grandparents. Why pee in the woods when your house is less than 500 ft away? Remeber he was at work. Also, what city lets their meter readers read the meters in their own neighborhood. Not in Orlando they don’t. Don’t believ me…dig around and you’ll see. If Caylee’s mom did have anything to do with her daughter’s death…she didnt do it alone.

    22. Richard on December 19th, 2008 11:18 pm

I agree with moderator Klaasen … it makes no sense in the real world for someone involved with the case to make the call. We can come up with scenarios where that might not be true, but it seems highly unlikely, to put it mildly.

Note one thing, folks … here, at least, he doesn’t say that he saw THE SAME bag, he says that he saw A bag back in August.

It’s unclear to me, though, why that would be ‘something suspicious.’

    23. Sand and sea on December 20th, 2008 12:25 am

I am so glad that Caylee has been found. Cindy grabbed Casey around the throat. Casey is charged with the murder of Caylee. What did this little angel witness in her short life, with this family.

    24. HOPE on December 20th, 2008 12:26 am

I agree with Klaas as well.

Neighbors in the area remember smelling a foul odor that they dismissed as being a dead animal in the woods. In fact, I think the first call Roy made had to do with smelling an odor. I don’t see anything suspicious about him. But, unfortunately, I’m reminded how many people refuse to get involved in reporting a crime or providing tips, specifically, because of the suspicion that usually follows. :(

But, I agree with C.G. in her statement that Casey may have had help, although I don’t see Roy as being the one that would have done that. I’ve heard it mentioned that the body and/or the bag may have been moved around to avoid detection. We know, for example that the cadaver dogs hit on the area around Caylee’s play house, as well as, the trunk of the car.

    27. Advocate for Caylee on December 20th, 2008 5:14 am

The defense “dream team” is going to try and tear apart everything possible in this case; to create reasonable doubt. I.e, police bungled back in August, the crime scene was contaminated and botched; and the possibility of Roy Kronk being a suspect. Comments to the latter, have already been said on the TV shows. Mr. Kronk is a hero in my book! Seeing what he is now going through, having to hire a lawyer, etc. I believe will stop future concerned and caring citizens to get involved; thus many future crimes that need public to assistance to be solved–won’t be!

Some of the TV interviewers have asked, “Why didn’t he open the bag back in August?” I am sure he didn’t want to contaminate evidence, if there was something in that bag, that’s why! Remember, when he saw the bag again on Dec. 11th…he kicked it–he didn’t want to touch it…Sounds pretty responsible to me! Now he has to defend himself–because he was being a good citizen!

My final comment–Casey Anthony is guilty as sin..She reminds me of Susan Smith! Susan Smith killed her two precious little boys by drowning them–all over a man! Susan Smith wore make-up, had her hair neatly done before the cameras; lied and should have won an oscar for her performance.

Casey Anthony killed her precious little angel, because she wanted a slumming lifestyle with many men!

Casey never shed one tear in jail–eats pork rinds and candy bars and asked for a deck of playing cards…She is a sociopath and pathological liar…She should get life without parole and not segragated from other prisoners. Let them deal with her!

God Bless and Keep You precious little angel, Caylee…

Something struck me listening to the jail house recording on Greta last night. KC says, among other things, that Caylee will always be her baby, grandma and grandpa’s baby and “…Lee’s baby”. It just struck me the way she said it, maybe because I think Lee is Caylee’s baby in truth. The DNA will come out in the trial I’d imagine.

If we thought OJ’s trial was sensational, just wait until this one gets going.

I am Roy’s Bro n Law from his last relationship. Roy was with my sister for 15 years until she passed away of Breast Cancer in July 2007. Roy Loved her very much as it showed while he stood by her till the last minute. Roy has been through a major loss of Love and know how hard it is. He is a very intelligent person and does care for others in his own way. He and I worked together in Tenn as Bondsman/Bountyhunter and I totally respect Roy . I know that he is a hero in this case because many would have simply went on and not followed up as he did. Thank God he did before the body was totally destroyed by the environment.

    30. Susan on December 20th, 2008 10:03 am

Isn’t it a bit strange that Roy’s ex-wife and brother-in-law just happened to stumble upon SM to defend him?

If Roy thought the bag contained Caylee’s remains, why didn’t he call from the scene, and wait for an officer to get there to ensure it was located?

Better yet, why didn’t Roy just go to the sheriff’s office to report the suspicious bag in person to insist the contents be checked out?

    31. meemee on December 20th, 2008 11:03 am

    32. Karen on December 20th, 2008 11:17 am

I find it questionable why someone would report a bag as something suspicious. Bags and garbage can be found left behind alongside roads, in ditches, parking lots relatively often. Why would someone report a bag as suspicious? If it was a “bag” that was reported, no wonder the cops didn’t pursue doing a more thorough job locating it. The obvious remains, if the utility worker had originally reported in August that there was an awful stench coming from a bag, or that there was a body or bones in the bag, it seems highly likely that dozens of investigators would have flocked to the area. Something doesn’t sound quite right.

We’ve all heard stories about how a missing person or evidence can be right under our noses and they go unnoticed. Remember Jennifer Hudson’s newphew’s body was found in the car, parked on a street, right there in the middle of where everyone was looking for him, yet he went unnoticed. So, I find it curious that this utility worker would give so much attention to a “bag” that was located half a mile away from where Caylee lived. That’s a fair distance away when you’re just going about your business.

It appears to me that he knew what the contents of the bag were when he was so persistent reporting it in August. It’s just hard to swallow that someone makes such a big deal reporting a bag, simply because it’s half a mile away from where a missing child lived. So why didn’t he just come right out and say there was a body in the bag. Did he, and the cops didn’t believe him? And the obvious question that comes to mind is did he put the bag there and that’s how he knew what was in the bag?

If this guy is honorable and isn’t connected to Caylee’s disappearance in any way, that kudos to him for being so persistant. But just because he came forward and reported something suspicious, doesn’t mean he himself shouldn’t be investigated and be let off the hook. There are too many unanswered questions. I remain open until all the answers have been provided and proven.

      Casey is Quirky~~~~

      .

      But, on this chloroform theory:

We know what huffing chloroform can do to adults, wouldn’t a small child suffer extensive brain damage if she were forced to huff chloroform on a frequent basis? I mean, I look at these videos and I can’t help but think about how bright she is for a two year old.

I may be thinking aloud, here, but I just can’t conceive that a child of that age could handle the effects of huffing chloroform, even once… how could we possibly believe that this was done over and over, again?

I think she was dug up, from the area of the playhouse, sprayed with insecticide and moved in that trunk! Is chloroform an ingredient in insecticide?

      Research time…

    35. Mike on December 20th, 2008 11:42 am

I think i equally strange that people just show up to indict a person for some wrong doing, or leave the implication of such, for trying to do the right thing. Why did he do as he did when reporting the sighting? Why would he assume “a word to the wise would be sufficient” calling them and telling them the location all the while trying to do so anomously? Makes ya wonder why anyone would get involved even after the plea for help from officials doesn’t it. I believe when the officials received the tips for this area they just had the preconceived notion that equasearch had been over the area and nothing could at that point have been overlookeed so they just went through the motions of following up. There we can see how preconceived notions can be.

    36. Susan on December 20th, 2008 12:17 pm

Mike – I’m not accusing your brother-in-law (if in fact he is) of any wrongdoing. It’s just a bit odd how all of this has unfolded.

If, in fact, Roy did call authorities on 11, 12 and 13 August to report a “suspicious bag”, and the authorities didn’t respond/investigate his tips properly, some heads need to roll at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Time was and always is of the essence! Roy should know that, if in fact, he is a bounty hunter, as you previously stated.

Why would anyone call in an “anonymous” tip anyway, especially when it involved the disappearance of a two year child?

    37. Susan on December 20th, 2008 12:30 pm

      Karen – Good points!

How does a bag suddenly become “suspicious” when it is commonplace to see trash scattered everywhere?

Looking at the crime scene pictures, I find it difficult to understand how anyone could have spotted the “suspicious bag” ten feet away from the road in a heavily wooded area.

The “suspicious bag” was said to be, by Roy, on the “side of the road”. Who relieves themselves on the side of the road in broad open daylight?

We may never get all of the answers we seek in this case :-(

    38. HennyPenny on December 20th, 2008 1:45 pm

“He and I worked together in Tenn as Bondsman/Bountyhunter and I totally respect Roy.”

Wow. That isn’t just a random thing to say. Why tell us that? Is he involved with Padilla?

Can’t believe you all missed that.

    39. Mike on December 20th, 2008 4:26 pm

No Roy is not associated with Padilla. Roy worked in this Profession about 8 years ago when He ,my sister and I ,owned a Bonding Company in Tri Cities Tn. Roy was always Professional and dependable. He is just like the other thousands there in Orlando that was concerned and wanted to be helpful. The only difference is he had the correct tip and tried to do it and remain anonomous so as not to have to go through this grief but the Sheriffs department would not take the tip and check it out. They just assumed all had been searched so why bother. He felt that even the reward at that time wasn’t worth all of this trouble.

I don’t care if Caylee was found by Santa and his elves… I’m grateful. Besides, who’s business is it of ours whether he was relieving himself on the side of the road, or not. That’s not important.

Obviously, your brother-in-law has been put through the ringer as a result of his actions and it’s not my place to question. But, I would like to ask, if you know if it’s true that he lives in the neighborhood near the woods and also if you know if he knows Mr. Padilla, personally?

      Thanks,

      Patti

    41. Kay Zee Ess on December 20th, 2008 7:29 pm

To tell you the truth, Susan and her minions are playing the devil’s advocate here and are probably not happy how this is turning out.

I would like to have the cabal explain what they are hoping to prove by persecuting Mr. Kronk and casting suspicions on his ex-wife and brother-in-law.

    42. Alexis on December 20th, 2008 7:35 pm

To my knowledge Kronk never said he lived on Hopespring Drive and there is reason to believe he may not even live in Orlando.

As far as him spotting the suspicious bag, he said that in hot weather they try to park under trees, where it’s cooler. That could explain how he happened to spot the gray bag (which fits the description of Hefty SteelSak bags, among others) on successive days. One report said it was “partly submerged.” Trash bags may be commonly found along woods, but big 30-gallon bags? Rare, and, under the circumstances, suspicious. The fact that his suspicion was borne out is proof he was right to be suspicious.

Don’t forget that by July 23, several weeks before the August 11 call to LE, news outlets were already reporting evidence of human decomposition in the trunk of the mother’s car. Under those circumstances, a heavy-duty 30-gallon trash bag in the woods big enough to hold a child’s remains WOULD be suspicious to any alert individual.

I question “Mike’s” claim that Kronk was formerly a bounty hunter. We’ll see when the facts come out, but there is no doubt in my mind he is a sharp-eyed, observant, conscientious individual, who was wise enough to be persistent. He said he was in the same area in November but was busy and didn’t have time to stop.

I have not seen any ‘official statement,’ or any statement that claimed he relieved himself in the woods, but even if there were, it wouldn’t be in broad open daylight but “in the woods.”

He is a hero in my book. Thanks to him little Caylee will be able to rest in peace.

I have seen a lot of CSI and SVU episodes and Caylee’s case seems to be one of those that has twists and turns to it’s story. It is just fair that Kronk should be investigated too to rule him out as a suspect. I am not trying to imply that Kronk is the killer but as a witness, he should be put on investigation to clear his name and to put his testimony as an evidence to the crime.

    46. craig s. on December 21st, 2008 12:16 am

There are questions needs to be answered in this case:
Why didn’t the cops find the suspicious bags on Kronk’s first call? or the second? or the third? Is he the only one who can physically see the bag? not even the search dogs? Even if the location he gave was wrong (which is very unlikely because he lives in the same neighborhood) the dogs could have sniffed their way towards the decomposing body.

    47. Ashley on December 21st, 2008 12:21 am

Why is it that Kronk was the only person who saw the bag for three days and nobody else’s? What I am thinking is,there was no bag at that time and remains was put into open when all the possible evidences that will pinpoint the criminal are gone.

Here are some of the possible twists to the story:

      >Casey has a routine of leaving her daughter alone medicated with a sleeping pill while she’s out partying.

      >The killer knows about it and abducted Caylee who is quitely sleeping and heavily medicated.

      >Caylee woke up in the morning and recognized the abductor and killed her.

      >Caylee’s body was planted near Casey’s house
      ___________________-
SM: Does not explain decomposition in the car and duct tape on Caylee.

The use of an illegal drug in the death of a child is aggravated child abuse and considered murder 1.

This is not the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. Casey Anthony is a no body and in her mind all of this would never have been cared about by anyone, much like she didn’t. There is a trail of evidence that leads from the crime scene where Caylee was found to Casey’s trunk to the Anthony home. What is the common denominator … Casey Anthony.

    50. Jo Marie on December 21st, 2008 1:31 am

Suspicion of Roy Kronk is just another conspiracy theory, IMO. FBI lab evidence determined that the trunk of the car Casey Anthony drove held a decomposing body. Who, other than Caylee, could that be?

All the evidence points to Casey Anthony as the person who, in some way, wiped out this innocent baby’s life.

Casey continues to blame a “Zenaida Gonzalez”. I don’t believe she’ll ever tell the truth. We may never know if she’s been completely honest with Jose Baez…AND, as her defender, he may not want her to “tell the truth, the whole truth” to him!

We’ve yet to hear much from George and Cindy Anthony since the remains were determined to be those of dear little Caylee, their grandchild.

Most of us cannot imagine what they suffer.

    51. Kay Zee Ess on December 21st, 2008 5:33 am

My assumption is that there are members of the police dept there that should not be working in that capacity if they did not follow up after three calls.

That indicates a lackadaisical attempt on some of the officers to respond to valid clues. They may be better suited to delivering pizza more that having the public pay them for their poor work performances.

This of course only applies to the one or ones responsible for ignoring the calls regarding the bag with Caylee’s remains.

    52. Kay Zee Ess on December 21st, 2008 5:38 am

      Ashley wonders…
“Why is it that Kronk was the only person who saw the bag for three days and nobody else’s?”

Perhaps, because and maybe someone responsible to search that area didn’t, I guess. Face facts, this was a bungled piece of police work and the person or persons responsible need to have a different profession as they are not qualified for the one that they presently possess.

Roy doesn’t live in that neighborhood. The voice you heard on the recording to the dispatcher was the dispatcher referring to Hopespring, the street I live on. Stop trying to make something bad out of something good. Mike – you obviously know Roy as well as I do and we know why he chose to get involved and follow his gut. He has always had a keen eye and interest in investigative work and it goes to show he is definately good at it. It sad to think this “overpaid Bounty Hunter – Television actor, Padilla” is out there sucking people dry with hopes and dreams and only wants his few minutes of glory – enough to rope in the next victim. He should take a few lessons from You and Roy. I was sad to learn about Sandys’ passing — I know Roy loved her very much. I myself lost my little Brother this Feb. Let’s keep fighting for Roy. There are some bad people out here. To all the others — thanks for your kind words and standing up for Roy. God Bless you all. Crystal

Sodium Hypochlorite is something Roy Kronk has access to. It leaves traces of chloroform behind. It also strips flesh to the bone. Sodium Hypochlorite is something I once heard Tim Bindner claim he’d use to strip a body. In case you’re wondering who Tim Bindner is he’s a child molester/murdurer who I happen to work with at E.B.M.U.D. in Oakland CA. I believe Roy Kronk is very familiar with law enforcement procedure. He made 3 false tip calls in August. When he was certain the area was cleared by police he dumped the bones, already stripped of flesh, and made another call. Hoping to capitalize on the publicity as Tim Bindner did I believe Roy Kronk murdured Caylee Anthony.

i have read the comments and i am wondering
how DID roys ex wife (who lives on hopespring?!)
and ex bro-in-law both happen on to the site also?
same as me? if roy was married for 15 years
(to sandy?) until summer 2007, when was he married
      to crystal? ~after that..
so roy and crystal were married and divorced
in the last 18 months, and crystal is enamored with her recent ex?
the three calls is what got my attention,
if his residence proximity is that close,
then i also wonder why he said that he was
relieving himself in the woods, and not just come out and say that he was looking for the body.
i wont conjecture on the odds or the oddities,
but i will bookmark this site and stay tuned.

If he was a hero he would not be grabbing that fifteen minutes of fame he seems to be looking for.

    66. Rusty Bridges on December 22nd, 2008 9:08 am

I haven’t been able to follow this as close as I would like, but here are some thoughts I have.

When you gotta go, you gotta go! The woods is the best in an emergency.

Big gray garbage bags are left on the side of the road all the time by inmate workers picking up trash. They leave them there at the end of the day for the next day of work. So the cops, who see them all the time thought no big deal? Plus all the other tips that were coming in at the time..

The smell of death is not uncommon near new neighborhoods as construction work destroys burrows and confuses animals who end up getting hit by cars trying to find safe haven.

Water levels change all the time in Florida. Those rains came after a long drought so the water district was retaining as much as they could. I had contacted equusearch in early Sept to offer my small duck boat to help rearch the flooded woods for that reason. The search was put on hold from the floods. In August that area was unreachable as far as I know.

I think at that point, LE was exhausted from months of searching and no cooperation from the family. I could see why they wouldn’t just rush out to the 100th or so call about a garbage bag.

“Big black snake”, in florida that could mean the deadly water moccosin. Named as such because the head is as wide as a shoe and you can’t shake it off once it clamps on.

#36 “Why would anyone call in an “anonymous” tip anyway, especially when it involved the disappearance of a two year child?”

This is one of those self answering questions.

    67. scott on December 22nd, 2008 11:33 am

hey dipshits that keep slandering this man…the police who are professionals CLEARED this man…the police know what they are doing. If any of you think you are better than the police then go join the police force or else let them do their jobs like they let you do yours….

      bunch of a$$holes.

Paul..you don’t know him or his family….you are full of crap…period!

      I stand by the police.

Why don’t you same losers get the bail together to get the child killing mother out of jail? Losers!

    68. Rusty Bridges on December 22nd, 2008 12:13 pm

If this guy wasn’t a perfect angel in his past, so what. Understanding full well that he would be scrutinized by everybody he still came forward and put his neck out there.

He stayed on top of his convictions and helped the people who love this child find some closure no matter what crap he might catch. That is a definition of a hero.

I was trying to point out why the LE didn’t rush out to follow up his tips. They had 1000s of leads that they tried to follow up on and a weary volunteer force. This area was under water and hard to search. Somebody apparently used chemicals to cover up the evidence.

Responding to No. 20: The bag that was found was reported to have been duct taped when he first found it, which would be one reason why you wouldn’t look inside. Also, although I would be curious about the contents, if I were in his shoes, I also would have called the police so as not to disturb the contents and to preserve any evidence if it did turn out to be related to the crime.

Responding to Item No. 27: I think we should change the defense team’s name to “The Scheme Team”

Responding to No. 30: There is absolutely nothing suspicious about what Roy did upon finding the body when he called 911 and told the dispatcher they needed to get someone out to the scene right away.

Responding to No. 32: It wasn’t as if it was a bag of trash. You can tell if there is something that might resemble the size and weight of a body, and Roy said he had kicked the bag with his foot and felt he should contact authorities after doing so. It’s not like it appeared to be a bag of aluminum cans or trash. Who that’s really involved in the murder of a child would keep calling the police unprovoked to find the evidence? That is illogical.

    71. CommonSense on December 22nd, 2008 9:25 pm

In response to No. 55, which said, quote, “He made 3 false tip calls in August. When he was certain the area was cleared by police he dumped the bones, already stripped of flesh, and made another call. Hoping to capitalize on the publicity as Tim Bindner did I believe Roy Kronk murdured Caylee Anthony,” unquote. In my opinion, this is all hideous speculation with no basis in fact to warrant such statements.

A more logical explanation for why he called three days in a row was because the police didn’t find what he had alerted them to the first two days he called. I was the victim in a bungled police investigation, and by the time it was done, I had made about a dozen phone calls and written about a half a dozen letters.

In Response to No. 65: If it was really 15 minutes of fame he was after, he wouldn’t have initially tried reporting what he found anonymously.

It makes sense to me that someone would call in a tip on a bag they found that appeared, at least, to be of similar weight, size and density as one that might contain the body of a 2-year-old child known to have gone missing in that exact neighborhood.

If I had originally made an anonymous tip, I would have been watching the news to see if they talked about the police finding the body and would have likely called and reported it again if that didn’t happen.

I don’t know too many people who would report what they thought might be the body of a missing toddler who would then just say, “Oh, well” without confirming the police had actually located the item of suspected evidence.

    72. jesse on December 22nd, 2008 11:29 pm

The fact that we give so much time and attention to these types of crimes makes it much more likely that they will continue to occur. Investigate – solve the crime and punish the perpetrator. There’s no need for media involvement – other than the initial report and the guilty verdict/acquital.
It’s sick to dwell on the murder of a little girl for months on end.

If you find it tiresome..go away!

They have presented nothing but SLANDEROUS lies… I’m tired of people thinking they know more than the police who have been investigating this for MONTHS on end…

He didn’t just go 10 feet into the woods but 30-40 feet…

It’s possible he got different areas that look the same mixed up when he phoned in tips in that area. It’s is possible that between August and when the remains were moved that animals moved the bag. Explains why bones were discovered in a pretty big radius from where the bag was found. It is possible he saw this bag in August…forgot the exact location he saw it, and then when nothing came back, he went looking again. Watch Mark Furman explain how the calls in August to the discovery of the body happened with his inside knowledge of the police down there. He was on Greta last night and has been involved in help solving many missing people cases. Because he is a biggot, does not mean he wasn’t a very good investigator and planted evidence against OJ…he gives real police talk…i know, my father was a homicide detective in one of the harshest counties in the US for crime….

The police can tell from the condition of the bag how long it was there.

Say KNOW IT ALLs…what are you going to say when the trash bags match up to what was found in the house? That Roy in the midst of abducting Caylee took the time to take two trash bags, use one for Caylee and then he somehow planted it in Casey’s car when she hadn’t been home in over a month? In that he also took several of Caylee items with her while abducting her? Sure. Casey and Caylee weren’t home from June 16 on….they weren’t at George and Cindy’s…so how could he abduct them?

Why do you think the police went back to the house to search? For more evidence they found at the scene that tie to the house that they probably seen the previous two times they were there. Not because they missed something….

Bring on all your lame attempts to slander this man and I’ll poke holes all through your stuff?

The facts are starting to come out now on the tips called in by Kronk back in August. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of it. As I stated previously, Kronk should have met or waited for authorities to arrive at the scene to show the officer where the bag was. If that had been done, there may have been flesh on the body that could have helped the medical examiner determine the cause of death.

According to news reports, one of the calls was received at 9 pm. Why so late?

I’m not judging anyone and I truly believe that Casey had something to do with Caylee’s death but I also believe that Mr. Kronk did as well. I’m sorry but the plot thickens. Caylee is dead and we don’t know who killed her. Another innocent child is dead and it’s very sad. Everyone needs to watch their kids MORE carefully. We as parents are RESPONSIBLE for the welfare of our children. If a child can’t depend on their parents to protect them, who can they depend on? If Casey is innoncent, she still deserves to pay for what happened to Caylee because she lied and lied and lied! Lies eventually catch up to you and where has all the lies gotten her? In the pen for something she may not have done. God Bless Caylee!

Wow! First off, it’s blatantly obvious that a few of these “friends/co-workers/x-family members” are really Roy….
You ask “Why would he make the call if he were guilty”…..cash, guilt, to frame someone else. There was a man who posted as a friend of the Roy’s ex, I believe him. He did not believe in Roy and thought he was a liar. People can smell when there is something fishy going on… and there is a whole lot of fishy here! Roy SHOULD have stayed and waited for the police the FIRST time he called. Any normal human being would have done that. No body cares about being anonymous when they haven’t done anything wrong. By the way, isn’t it also a little strange that Cassie’s defense is being paid for by someone “anonymous” as well. OH, and Roy “lawyered up” right away. Who does that?! Guilty people do that! It crossed my mind when I listened to the recording of Roy reporting the “human skull” to dispatch, that it was eerie how he reported it next to an elementary school. Pedefiles sometimes watch elementary schools for their victims. I’m not saying that Cassie is completely off the hook here. She’s definitely trying to cover her ass about something. Did she sell her child?? Who knows, but I can’t wait to see what the outcome is after the invesigation. That man is NOT normal. He is NOT a hero in my opinion, he’s skeetchy! Something is OFF here!

I now believe Casey the tot’s “mom”, AND Roy Kronk BOTH had involvement in the murder.
It doesn’t make sense that police WOULDN’T see the BIG garbage bag Kronk says was there, 3 times!
Why would a “meter reader” pee on the side of the road (inappropriate), suddenly just happen to spot a strange garbage bag 3 times, NOT show police WHERE it is when they get there, etc. etc. It’s all too fishy. Doesn’t make sense. I have NO IDEA how BOTH Kronk AND Casey Anthony were BOTH involved in murdering this beautiful child, but it’s rather apparent to me, they were.

    83. Mickey on December 30th, 2008 9:40 pm

Well, it now turns out that this area was videotaped in November… and no sign of the “supicious bag”.

More like a suspicious meter reader, if you’re asking me. Where is her tissue? Anybody check this guy’s freezer?

I think he was disappointed they didn’t investigate his bag… now think hard about that. Unless he already knew it was a body, why would he expect to have some media update about them investigating it?

Instead, he knew what it was, and that’s why he had to go back, and get them to take a closer look.

But once again, why wasn’t it there in November?

Mr. Kronk is telling some lies…

Why did Lee’s girlfriend go to the house when they ID caylee’s body/

    85. lalena on January 3rd, 2009 9:23 pm

I’ve read a lot of your comments in here and I just want to point out a fact that many people may not be aware of. In the case of killers, especially serial killers, the predator very often likes to stay very close to the case. They will often collect “keepsakes” from crime scenes and keep newspaper clipings or articles. They will even join in on blogs like this one. So please don’t assume that this “hero” is innocent just because he’s taken such an interest in the case. That could be looked at as “classic” predatory behavior. I for one, suspect he could have been involved. I have a degree in criminal science and I would think it to be stranger that he is so “commited” to the case having had nothing to do with it.

    86. ashley on January 5th, 2009 12:09 am

To the disappointment of others,I really believed that Kronk is involved in Caylee’s murder.Him and Casey.I don’t know how they did it but the two of them knew they are responsible to her death.Casey, bless her soul, a self centered liar who does’nt care about her child. And Kronk,I hope your guilt will not put you to rest. And I believed too, that Kronk is one of us here posting comments.

    87. Justin on January 9th, 2009 9:55 pm

Roy Kronk is as gulity as Lee Anthony and Casey Anthony. What business did he have in meeting up with Lee Anthony prior to his so called findings. He had no business taking a leak or public exposure in a wooded area to use the rest room. Yes he does look like a child molester. I think he knows more than he is says to everyone. He needs to speak up. Why would he have to get a lawyer, unless he is hiding something, which he is. His own mother says he looks like a child molester. He had no business in the area. If he so called reported this bag, back in August, there is no way that a bag would stay in the same area for 5 months. He is a no good person that needs charges against him. If I found a bag I would open it up, with gloves of course, thae if it was something important, then I would take pics of everything that I did, but would call in a witness to witness everything, then call police. I would not leave until police got there. He is not telling the truth at all.

    88. Justin on January 9th, 2009 10:10 pm

What was Roy Kronk doing in the woods during his work time hours. What was he thinking? Does the Orlando Utility’s allow people to slack off while on the clock. What was he doing in a heavly wooded area. His job is to read meters, water meters, not to play in the woods, or anything like that. OCSO needs to bring him in for questioning. He does look like a pedifile( child molester, quoted by his mother as stated). He now wants a reward. Why, he some how wants to be a hero. Well he isn’t a hero. If he was employed by me, I would have him terminiated, fired for doing something like this. Well he better have alot of money, because he will need it all for his lawyer, to defend his name, what business did he have being near the Anthony home, or crime scene. He asked for trouble when he did this. I agree he needs charges for conspircy and not acting quicker on the so called findings of a bag. As far as anyone knows he planted the bag there. It was not wet, no mud, nothing.

    89. david on January 9th, 2009 10:35 pm

I just dont understand how the OCSO is just going to buy Roy Kronk’s story. They need to put him on a lie detector test. The guy is known to make up storys, and wants to be in the spot light. He thinks he will be important now since he planted the bag.

    90. Margo on January 11th, 2009 6:02 pm

In re: to the negative comments about Kronk, I cant help but wonder why the detectives/police aren’t thinking the same things? I sent my suspicions directly to the OCPD via e-mail, and received a response that they received it. That, at least, made me feel better to know that SOMEBODY read my suspicions. I think/hope that, if you haven’t done that, that you will. In the meantime, I will continue my obsession as to how/why etc., Kronk is in this mess.

    91. Irish damien on January 13th, 2009 1:37 am

HOPE crystal susan names in all CAPS
maybe Scott and mike and a few others
      are obviously Roy

They use all the same words and ideas ie hero, reward, blessed, persistence, glory, that pallida is a fool, he is caylees savior, thank you Roy , the grandparents and casey didnt deserve caylee
Also they use similar syntax ie ALL CAPS and replying to each other mostly women names

This limpdick loser pedo killed and raped that little girl and took her away from her mother and grandparents who loved her so much
Roy, I know you are reading this. You are not a hero. Caylee must have thought you were a disgusting monster. You will never get that money or glory because you are a loser. You will rot in hell. If you are so proud of your kill that you can’t keep from gloating on here, why not take the credit you deserve. Oh that’s right you are a child rapist and murderer and you are a pu$$y.

    92. sam on January 13th, 2009 2:04 am

so how does kronk have a connection
to jose baez, or dominic casey, or lee anthony?

and how well does scott (kronks co-worker)
know either lee or his sister casey?
how far is scott involved, considering his house
      is on hopespring drive?

these are the questions investigators are asking,
we will see if dominic casey rolls over
      and goes states witness
after his phone records are subpoenaed,,

      the plot thickens…

    93. sam on January 13th, 2009 2:30 am

      just wondering also,
does scotts house back up to the woods
      where caylee was found?
is his house on the odd numbered side
between 4701 and the Anthony residence?

then one could easily walk from the backyard
to the recovery scene without being seen…

i read the zaniadea/ gonzalez location blog,
weirdest coincidence so far, to a T…

    94. BeckyB on January 13th, 2009 6:57 am

While I don’t think he was involved in Casey’s plot, the only red flag is that he had to pee in the very spot where he called from before. I find that interesting. What are the odds of that? I’m not sure what that means, but the same man calls twice before, and then has to go into the woods at that same spot a third time. Has anyone heard from the cop that was dispatched from the time before? Is there some type of cover up? I would also like to know why Mr. Kronk wasn’t more persistent when he called the 2nd time; obviously, he knew something was up, so why not make a bigger deal of it. There is just SOMETHING that I can’t put my finger on. Once again, I am NOT saying that he was involved in her murder, but this finding of her remains THREE times is too weird.

    95. Marica from Winter Garden on January 13th, 2009 1:21 pm

I have hoped from the beginning that Mr. Kronk is just a good ole boy doing the right thing. My hubby is a water utility worker too, and I know that they see more than the average person can image in their routes. So it is not surprising that any utility worker was the one to find little Caylee’s body. There is something I have to agree that is alittle weird about him..but there is alot of little quirks about people that you cant quite put your finger on. I guess we will just have to sit this one our, and see how it all plays out. I have no doubt, Tot Mom Did the Killing and Maybe Cindy helped to dispose of the body..or at lease knew where it was. I wait every day for LE to drop the next bomb. But I dont want them to rush, take as much time as needed to have an air tight case and put them away for life..that will just kill Caysee. Getting old and ugly in jail..that will drive her crazy..she should have to look at those autopsy photos they are wanting so bad every day for the rest of her life too..to remind her what she did to that beautiful baby..Yes I am pretty heartless when it comes to hurting a child..but I am a mom and a mom doesnt hurt a baby!!….

But back to the subject ..GOGOGO MR Kronk..Good JOB!!

    96. Jorge on January 13th, 2009 6:05 pm

Marica from Winter Garden, Fl how can you say GOGOGO MR Kronk..Good JOB!! Are you for this child molester, and killer.
Roy Kronk will be investigated if not already and he will have to explain himself to police and he wont be able to. I agree that charges need to be filed against this monster. Why hire a lawyer? Well probably because he screwed up and his lawyer advised him before he called his employer about the so called bag he planted in the woods. I know because the tape that was shot a couple weeks before shows no bag Mr Roy Kronk! So what is the truth? You know that you planted the bag. You are as GUILTY as Casey and Lee, because Lee wanted you to hide the bag there, while his parents were in CA to be on the Larry King Show. They rush back as soon as they hear the news. Also what business did you have Mr Roy Kronk to walk through the woods during work time while on the clock. If you were my employee you would be fired for not doing your job, and also trying to collect money during working hours, or better yet covering up a murder. If I were you I would be honest with police and tell them the truth. Roy Kronk’s mother went on national TV and said her son looks like a child molester. It would not surprise her if he had involvement in the killing or hiding of the body.

    97. sam on January 13th, 2009 9:00 pm

im not saying that kronk was involved in the
murder, but even today on GMA
he contends that the december discovery
was accidental because his motivation for
being in that particular area was to ‘pee’

why didnt kronk just say that he still had a
driving curiosity to re-check the area again?

and on GMA, kronk says the responding officer
on aug. 13 didnt want to go into the water
      to check out kronks lead.
did kronk go out into the water?
how was he so certain about that bag?
still does not add up for this private dick.

we will see what dominic casey has to say
      when he is indicted.

    98. sam on January 13th, 2009 9:05 pm

      o.k.

maybe kronk said he was taking a ‘pee’

because his discovery was at 9:30 am
while he was ON THE CLOCK…
so, to cover his arse, he didnt want to
admit that he was on company time
      rambling thru the brush…

      maybe..

    99. Jose on January 15th, 2009 8:29 pm

If Roy Kronk thinks he is a hero, he isn’t. There is no way in the world that the so called bag was there for 5 months in the same area and didn’t move, or get blown away. I know that both Roy and Lee set this whole thing up. Casey was in jail giving Lee codes and telling Lee that she is close. If I were this Orange County Dupty Sheriff I would be contacting my lawyer to pursue a lawsuit against Roy Kronk. Does OCSO know that Roy Kronk was arrested for kidnapping while in TN. I bet they don’t know that. Where is the proof that the bag was out there in August. How do we not know that it could have been a different bag period. Most garbage bags look alike. Roy Kronk I best advise you to be honest and take a lie detector test for the OCSO. If you did recieve the $5,000.00 you best return it, or you may need it for a lawsuit. There is still no way in the world that the bag that was there in December was the same bag in August. The OCSO may not be as smart as I am, you may be able to pull it off with them, but you wont get away with it with me. Your own mother even said you may have something to do with the dissapparence and that you look like a child molester. I would not allow you near my kids. Instead I would not allow you in my neighborhood. Also if I were in public and you were in the same area where I was or where my kids are or anything, I would call the police and have you removed and arrested for endangering my children. How do we all know that you are not a child molester like your mother said you were on national TV. Don’t come near me or my neighbors. Don’t be coming around in our neighborhoods and trying to check our water meters. You never know we may have a child in the woods again in a plastic bag, and guess who will find them, Roy Kronk. Roy are you like the guy in Atlanta? Do you remember what he did. Is that what you are. So many people are thinking that, my neighbors and I are all thinking the samething. Well we did atlease call Orlando Utilitys and they assured us all that you would not be checking our meters.

    100. Peter on January 15th, 2009 8:40 pm

How can the Police buy a story like this one. I was taking a pee in the woods in a pubic place where people could see me on the side if the road, public exposure. Also while I was doing that I planted this bag, oh I mean I found this bag here where Lee wanted me to put it. I will make sure that Roy Kronk will have charges against him for public exposure. He knows what the truth is. Since Casey was getting all the attention he was not very happy about that, so he plants a bag there. He was probably the one that killed little Caylee. I would not trust him around my kids. He looks like a pervert, like his mother said.

    101. BeckyB on January 18th, 2009 5:27 pm

Hey, I missed this interview where Mrs. Kronk says her son looks like a pervert? Did that really happen? As I have said before, I just can’t believe this is a mere coincidence that he stumbled upon her AGAIN. Did he see something before and couldn’t tell because he was somewhere he shouldn’t have been? Who knows. On the other hand, I suppose it’s not fair to hang this guy until we see just what is going on. I’m still skeptical though :(

    102. Rachel on January 19th, 2009 4:38 am

I too think there is a lot more to the story of this Roy Kronk….How many men stop their trucks to pee in a wooded area near the road…too weird….we have restrooms for this…I think he is somehow involved with Caylee’s murder…don’t know if HE is the one that did it, but possible…I would love for it NOT to be Casey…maybe because the news has her convicted…Gerardo called her a ‘bitch’….seems so sure she killed her baby girl…maybe, just maybe, she did not!
      ___________
SM: Actually, it is the mountain of circumstantial evidence and her own actions that have all but conviceted her. She made no effort to find Caylee or even tell anyone that she was missing. That is damning and will not be lost on any jury. Then once it was learned that Caylee was missing, Casey lied to police.

Let’s face it, Casey is not OJ Simpson and this is not Los Angeles, CA.
      R

    103. Rachel on January 19th, 2009 4:49 am

I forgot to mention all the times Kronk called police and all the times he went back to this area.(I heard on Gerardo Sat night (Jan 17, 2009) it was more times than just the August and December times.)…Something is very wrong here. How did he know it wasn’t just a garbage bag of garbage in August? Why was he wanting the police to check it out? Why was it HIM that found the contents in December when
police didn’t do what he wanted them to in August? If he KNEW and was so sure it was Caylee in the garbage bag back in August that he called the police 3 times, then why wait til December to ‘find’ her himself?…..Ugh, I am skeptical of this guy!

    104. Rachel on January 19th, 2009 9:05 pm

I hear you SM on the mountain of circumstantial evidence and the way Casey changes her story, however, do YOU think this Roy Kronk had anything to do with Caylee’s death?

I don’t know what happened at the end but I feel certain that Casey loved Caylee….you could tell by the happy faces in the pictures.
People don’t even take very many pictures of children that they don’t ADORE. The little girl looked happy and loved, agree?

It appears that something happened to change Casey, probably some guy that made her not as good a mom as she was before she met him. (I am thinking of the lady ‘Susan’(quite a few years ago) that ran her car into the water because her boyfriend didn’t like children, remember that?)

P.S. I live in Indiana and am following this story from what I see on Fox News.

    105. BARB on January 23rd, 2009 5:54 pm

I am not sure about all the love she had for Caylee. Saw one video on the Nance Grace Show. It was a recorded jail house telephone discussion between Caylee’s mother and her brother Lee. During the conversation she angrily referred to Caylee…as “that little snothead”. I was very surprised at this, as usually on the Nance Grace Show, she is only shown crying and saying how much she loved Caylee. I never saw that video again. I did do a Google search using the sentence “Caylee called a snothead by her mother”…and found many confirmations and comments. Some posters said they had also used that term describing their children. Maybe so..I had 2 children…and I never thought of them in those terms. It certainly made me think differently about the love Cassey supposedly had for Caylee. I did write to the Nancy Grace Show asking why that video was never shown or mentioned again…never got any reply.

I also think the Roy K. episodes are a bit strange. Had thought I was the only one until coming to this site.

I believe that Roy wandering around wondering where a body would be in the area around the Anthonys’ home found a bag, opened it and realized he had the find of a life time.(sad but true) then he called the police but after several times of what seemed to be a mistake on someones part. They did not find /or look for the bag. KNOWING what was inside he kept at it. Maybe he helped Casey maybe not. Maybe they met at a bar one night and ??? who knows. But Casey had that smell in her car and the evidence says SHE had the body in her trunk. So for now in my book, he is on the back burner but she is in deep and in trouble all over the place.I believe Casey was looking for help with her problem and the new boyfriend was her chance to live how she rally wanted.Just like Susan Smith.
I believe she moved the body a few times from the back yard to the forest. Hence the decomposing sent in the trunk. So She alone will stand trial. the question of the hour is “who’s your daddy?” Who’s baby is Caylee really will help solve some hidden light on Casey and why she is the way she is. But like so many questions that have been unanswered/ lied about in this case one day she will tell all.Why is the family not seeing her and why is she alone in Jail without family and friends? Now solve that and you will find the truth!
