BIAS MSM in the Tank for Barack Obama … One Cannot Deny the Facts the MSM is Obama Propaganda

According to the PEW Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism the media has been in the tank for Barack Obama in a most decided way. Who would have ever thought. The MSM covering McCain in a more negative light than Obama, say it isn’t so. Why would the media ever try to take the side of one candidate over another, especially when that candidate agrees with their liberal agenda. Hmm? Sadly enough during this Presidential election campaign the media has finally shown its true colors and can never be trusted again to report anything honestly without their liberal slant and agenda. Any objective pretense is gone when one openly roots for one candidate over another. As Power Line states by their reaction to this study, No Surprise here. The media is supposed to protect us from government, not take sides with it. That would be called propaganda, not media.

PEW_camapign_graph

The media coverage of the race for president has not so much cast Barack Obama in a favorable light as it has portrayed John McCain in a substantially negative one, according to a new study of the media since the two national political conventions ended.

Press treatment of Obama has been somewhat more positive than negative, but not markedly so.
But coverage of McCain has been heavily unfavorable—and has become more so over time. In the six weeks following the conventions through the final debate, unfavorable stories about McCain outweighed favorable ones by a factor of more than three to one—the most unfavorable of all four candidates—according to the study by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism.

Study: Media Portrays McCain in “Substantially Negative” Light Compared to Obama. The media would have “We the People” believe that Sarah Palin is a drag on the McCain ticket when every honest thinking person knows it is just the opposite. Many Republicans are engaged in the process only because of Sarah. Where is the media attention to Biden and his obvious gaffes that have affected Obama in a negative way?

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s coverage went from quite positive to very negative to mixed. “The findings suggest that, in the end, Palin’s portrayal in the press was not the major factor hurting McCain. Her coverage, while tilting negative, was far more positive than her running mate’s.

Wizbang: Obamedia Update

Really? Ya think? That sure is a shocking revelation. Was a study really necessary? If the media had been investigating names like Jeremiah Wright, Michael Klonsky, William Ayers, the New Party, Jim Johnson and lksajroiuehokpijrkan, then a study might be in order, but seriously, even those on the left know the media is deep in the tank for Barack Obama.

The Astute Blogger: Pew Study PROVES Media in the Tank for Dems as Obama Camp Adopts “Hide Biden” Strategy. Is the media trying to depress the vote for McCain? To borrow a phrase from Sarah Palin … “You Betcha”.

Listen, folks, it is pretty damn simple: they are trying to convince you that it is over. It isn’t. They are lying, they are trying to keep you home if you intend to vote for McCain. They are working with the Democrats to FIX this election, as they have been doing all year.

It is FAR from over. Don’t wait for election day when all the thugs will be out: go do your duty to save OUR country from ruin this week. And quit watching those idiots on MSNBC, NBC, CNN, CBS, ABC… and yes, even Fox (I am talking to you Bill Kristol…); all who are trying their damdest to mail this thing in for Obama.

Why are we not seeing this Sarah Palin? You want to talk about hiding your true self, I’d like to know what she is hiding w/her downhome country crap she is showing the public right now. She’s not portraying what she really is today. This video is from 2006, did she suddenly get really stupid and country before this election? This person is sharp, intelligent and represents a female Candidate for VP the way it should be. You can take it how you want to, but she scares me with her false presentation today as much as “That One” scares you. Please watch than explain to me what you see today vs this in 2006. JMO

of course the tone about the McCain/Palin ticket is negative!

you just can’t make a turd smell nice.
      even FOX can’t do that.

those rightwing blogs and talkradio’s are spraying perfume on that turd all day.
      but it’s still a turd.

No presidential candidate should get to the point that he has locked up his party’s nomination without public vetting of his health.”
–New York Times, on John McCain in May 4 2008 “Missing Records”
      ——————————————————————————–

Many were the words written about John McCain and his medical records. That he delayed in releasing them, that his health records were crucial to the public’s right to know.

After McCain released nearly 1200 pages of medical records–the Arizona Senator not only had war-related injuries, but also bouts with skin cancer–the Mainstream Media complained that reporters were not given enough time to go through McCain’s records: they were given three hours to look through them.

Three hours is far less time than it would take those same reporters to go through Barack Obama’s medical records that have been released.

      Because there are none.

The Obama campaign has stated that no medical records will be released. Instead, a one-page undated letter from a doctor will have to satisfy reporters on that issue.

The Mainstream Media’s curiosity has been satisfied: there have been no calls for Barack Obama to release medical records.

The New York Times on Barack Obama in May:

The letter is the first publicly released information about Mr. Obama’s medical history or current condition. The six-paragraph, one-page statement summarized the senator’s health for the last 21 years and was signed by Dr. David L. Scheiner, who said he has been Mr. Obama’s primary care physician since March 23, 1987. The undated letter was released less than a week after Senator John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee, released his medical records.

A spokesman for Mr. Obama said his campaign would not make Dr. Scheiner available for a telephone interview.”
–New York Times, May 8 2008, “Obama’s Doctor, Praising His Health, Sees No Obstacles to Service”

Legion were the stories written assuring readers that “Barack Obama is in excellent health”. That’s great, then why not release the records?

This is another example.. Yesterday they were questioning Palin if her medical records would be released.. Biden released his.. and Obama puts out a 1 page letter… and they are hounding Sarah for her medical records..

    8. Maggie on October 23rd, 2008 4:48 pm

The viewers of ON THE RECORD at 10pm and readers of GretaWire are not happy about the different treatment Governor Palin gets from the men — and usually from the other ticket. There is focus on money spent on her campaign (clothes) and not the guys and their families. Why leave out the 3 gents? if we are going to do this, let’s do all 4 and let’s focus on several topics of cost.

One thing I throw into the mix — if you really want to know high costs, ask for the cost of all (yes, all 4 of them and not just Governor Palin) their private jet charters! I bet the 2 Presidential candidates took vacations last summer (the VP candidates were not yet named and thus no vacations for them) and my guess is that cost is more than what was spent on Palin’s clothes. Yes, one private large jet flight could dwarf the cost of anything else!

Do you have any idea how expensive private charters are? and going the distance they go? and the SIZE of the jets they have chartered?

Here is an email from a viewer about the topic…read and post YOUR comment:

      Subject: candidate wardrobe
I DEMAND to know EXACTLY what Barack Obama, Senator Biden, and Senator
McCain have paid for their campaign wardrobes, including shoes and make
up. Do they have hairdressers !!!?? IF FOX is going to make an ISSUE
of this sexist item, YOU SHOULD GIVE a REPORT ON THE MEN AT THE SAME
TIME ! How insulting this is for women, Sarah is being subjected to
sexism by the only representative of Conservative issues on television
and you pick this “ISSUE ?” ? Fortunately “clothes do not make the
woman” any more than they do “the man”. She can rise above your
pettiness; now you have joined the ABC, CBS, and NBC crowd. gag !
      Billie Whisnant

It is real funny of the ones who say something about Sarah Palin’s wardrobe…cost.. Hollywood especially.. Yesterday it was reported that Obama spent 21 million on polling and almost $500,000 on food the last month. Again pot calling the kettle black..

With $605 million already, Obama asks only $10 more from each of us

Having hauled in a record $208,333 every hour of every day last month — $150 million in all — plus a few more unreported millions so far this month, Barack Obama is worried that he might come up short in the political money war with the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket.

Just to relieve himself of that $150 million before the polls open, Obama will have to spend $12.5 million a day.

What’s 150,000 to them.. Almost the cost of one greek column..

I’m so sick of the double standard. I wish Palin would say she will release her medical records when Obama releases his. Until then, she can release a one-page letter from her doctor, just like he did. It’s ridiculous for the details of her 5 pregnancies, labor and delivery and all, to become public record, the public does NOT have the right to know those details.

I would feel better about all of your responses about the big bad “liberal media” if you had taken the time to read the Pew report in total.

The “liberal Media” also had more favorable reporting about Bush in 2000 then Gore and in 2004 except for a short amount of time also for Bush.
So if we can stop pretending about the liberal media.

The top 3 things that brought about favorable articles for Obama?
      Economy, debates and Palin.

If McCain was leading in the polls, he would have more favorable articles.
That’s pretty much what determines the %of favorable vs. unfavorable.
That’s why Bush got better press in 2000 and 2004.

I would be the first to say that if the press had done their jobs, maybe this country would have been spared 8 years of this Bush/Cheney MESS.
And yes, the press should be asking better questions of BOTH parties.
But…. McCain/Palin have not run a good campaign and WE THE PEOPLE can see that.

Nothing says “I’m not part of the Washington elite” like a $75,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree.

I guess it’s easier to make her over than to smarten her up. The Republican Party should have spent the money to hire her some tutors to educate her on foreign affairs, economics, national defense, domestic political systems and most importantly the role of the Vice President (which has has no clue).

She should’ve be taught how to answer a question correctly without veering to some illogical prepared scripted talking points.

I love how the republican apologists always try to defend their candidate’s behavior or campaign strategy with the irresponsible logic of “well, the other side did it too!”

The logic must be that acknowledging that they are no better than the “enemy” must somehow excuse them from the infraction.

    16. Fox Fire on October 23rd, 2008 9:12 pm

I don’t understand the logic. I have been here for over a year telling you that George Bush was running this country into the ground; making comments about the George W. Bush Trust Fund and crying out, like a child in a group of adults, about the man that snuck into mommy’s safe and took her money! But the celebration went on… Long before anyone heard about the Wall Street Bailout or the, secret, transfer of wealth to AIG, I was there tattling about the big bad man and his friends that were engaging us in celebration, while they made off with the goods.

But, just like a bunch of drunks who would rather listen to stories of prostitutes, homosexual orgies and watch a brawl in earnest and in savagery; you’d rather look into the eyes of those that would give their lives for a country that cares, very little, about them and call it patriotic and honorable… A war that served more as a distraction than a means to an end. And, after all that, you still want to become drunker in a false-sense of security… feeling powerful from the poison, while the crook is making away with the goods?

You want propaganda with a twist, your twist… so you choose to watch the only station that reports the news the way you see it, through the eyes of a madman drunk in the blood of innocence, his head filled with filth and stories of the good and the bad and say, “Let’s toast to the man that stole from us, set us back 10 years and sold us a bag of goods that is worthless and let’s relieve him of his responsibility and forget the condition of this country and pretend he’s a hero, a WAR hero and make a big debate about the little things… ‘She is giving her clothes to charity’ – while missing the point that she was the one they were going to dress up, like a Barbie doll, to work as an ambassador and rowel-up the rednecks, the ‘good ‘ol boys’ and their network; assured that they will cast their vote, not on reason; but on innuendo, bias and a deep-seeded hatred of anyone that ‘appears’ to be different than them.

Anyone, in my opinion, that accepts the status quo, as it is today, deserve to have their life-long savings gone kaput. Why? Because they vote based on fear and the belief that the past leader and his cronies, care more about them than their money. Simply stated, that is the job of Sarah Palin. Round ‘em up and head ‘em out to be wrestled down to the, very, ground; and burnt, over and over, with the iron; while McCain is pressing for those that have served in the military to support his vie for the White House based on a ‘secret’ code of honor.

The truth is that there should never have been a war at all. But, WOW… does that iron ever burn as it places its’ mark on them and thus ALL of us…

      A FOOL and HIS MONEY!

We need change. We need someone that puts the needs of his own people above the political games, the greed and the propaganda of the rich. We need a hero and I’m going to pray, with all my might, that this hero be allowed to come to our rescue because it is only by the grace of God that the kings go on ruling and the judges go on judging. I can’t stand to see our people suffer, anymore; and I fear not the drunken few, but those that are behind them.

Correct. Not one actually read it. Because if they did, here’s what they would’ve found:

“One question likely to be posed is whether these findings provide evidence that the news media are pro-Obama. Is there some element in these numbers that reflects a rooting by journalists for Obama and against McCain, unconscious or otherwise? The data do not provide conclusive answers. They do offer a strong suggestion that winning in politics begat winning coverage, thanks in part to the relentless tendency of the press to frame its coverage of national elections as running narratives about the relative position of the candidates in the polls and internal tactical maneuvering to alter those positions. Obama’s coverage was negative in tone when he was dropping in the polls, and became positive when he began to rise, and it was just so for McCain as well. Nor are these numbers different than what we have seen before. Obama’s numbers are similar to what we saw for John Kerry four years ago as he began rising in the polls, and McCain’s numbers are almost identical to what we saw eight years ago for Democrat Al Gore.”

Makes you wonder about the motivation of someone who writes this – “According to the PEW Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism the media has been in the tank for Barack Obama in a most decided way.” – when Pew’s conclusion was this – “Is there some element in these numbers that reflects a rooting by journalists for Obama and against McCain, unconscious or otherwise? It’s an ABSOLUTE FACT that the MSM is left and for Obama and you losers can deny it all you want but it’s a FACT. Palin’s treatment from ABC, NBC, CNN and CBS has been atrocious. Those same organizations have failed to report meaningful questions that have arisen from ACORN’s voter fraud to William Ayers to the fact that Obama shares a socialistic ideology. You can hide from that. One news station, FOX, reports mostly from the right…Spin it all you want just like you spin everything else.

It’s amazing these left wing nut jobs think having more government control over your lives and your hard earned money is the answer; that a move towards socialism, a system that history has shown has failed time and time again!

Funny, how all of a sudden Obama throws in a “work requirment” for economic plan. He knows his economic plan has more holes than swiss cheese and that he slipped with his “spread the wealth” comment. Obama knows it and the polls are showing it.

It’s not over yet, believe that…..

But if Obama wins, get ready for the poorest 4 years this country will have felt since the 1930s!

    22. Diane on October 24th, 2008 7:36 am

Did you ever think that her “treatment” as you call it is not treatment, but the result of her lack of experience and preparedness showing?

She does not do well in interviews.
I think that shows. John McCain is digging his own hole.
The arguments that are talked about here are not the ones the rest of the country are concerned about or John McCain would be winning.

Let those who decry the spending on Sarah Palin’s wardrobe look into how much movie stars and TV performers spend.

Or, for that matter, how much the political commentators spend.

Or, for that matter, how much money Barack Obama is raking in from (ostensibly, anyway) private donors.

Isn’t this something that once confirmed again- McCain’s camp can call Obama out on to have him disqualified as Dem Nominee or is it too late and not going to happen anyway since Barry has already provided what was considered another “legal” birth Certificate?

No the analogy is..You brought it up about Sarah’s clothes as if that makes her a bad person and when someone presents to you..the money spent by Obama and his camp, you whine.. Just like when you brought up Cindy McCain and drugs..and never mentioned Obama’s problem with drugs. You never mention Joe Biden’s gaff’s a minute, even though he’s been around for 25 years.. You don’t mention Obama said Iran is a small country and not a real threat.. You don’t mention his own running mate called him inexperienced and said Hillary should’ve got it..You don’t mention Hillary said that about Obama.. You don’t mention Biden don’t know what Article 1 of the constitution is.. Obviously Sarah Palin is a real threat to them or they wouldn’t spend so much time trying to destroy her. Obama has been campaigning for 2 years,,of course he is going to have more practice at it. What has he actually changed,,give me a list. Show us a list of money spent by Obama, Biden and John McCain on clothes. The fact there isn’t one speaks volumes on why it was brought up. sexism.. Where is Obama’s medical records.. John McCain was hounded for his? Now Sarah Palin is being hounded for hers.. Try getting elected governor sometime.. let us know how it goes. Greta and John Coale her husband are not Republicans..they are democrats for John McCain.. John Coale stated the party was taken over by people like George Soros and Howard Dean and the way they treated women running for office.

Caesu is the same way..trashing Shawn and Rush and never mentioning daily Kos that ran stories about Sarah Palin’s baby is her daughters..incest.. celebrating Tony Snow dying, pictures of Joe Lieberman and George Bush in a sex act..or all the stupid stories put out. Obama went and gave a speech there..did he condemn that stuff..nooo..

One would have to blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other to think..the MSM hasn’t been in the tank for Obama. Give us a break.. I don’t need the media running the govt..or Hollywood.. Ratings are down in both places.. wonder why? The media is to provide all the facts and let people make up their own mind.. Not to hear a man talk about a tingle going down his leg..from Obama.

Now the RUSSIANS are outing the American media bias:

      ————————-

      :
      :
      :

A preliminary report prepared by the group, after studying U. S. media coverage on the NBC, CBS and ABC television networks since September, has concluded Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has a “hidden advantage.”

A preliminary report obtained by the Russian daily online newspaper Kommersant concludes the U. S. television networks devoted more time to Republican candidate John McCain, but “the material that makes up that time difference can be assessed as negative.”

The Russian study also said Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential pick, has been subjected to more criticism than her Democratic counterpart, Senator Joe Biden.

It adds that when the presidential candidates’ platforms are described, Mr. Obama’s is described last, to make it look better, and when platforms are compared, “Obama’s is presented preferable.”
