Barack Obama, Change You Can Believe In … Obama Campaign Event in NH Minus the United States National Anthem

AMERICA, is this the change that you really want to elect? Since when has there been a political event without the National Anthem? We are referring to a political event in the United States of America.

We are not in Kansas anymore Toto. During the recent Obama rally in NH it didn’t sound much like America either.

Obamunism, CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN and get ready for change and to share your wealth

So AMERICA, you want change? You think Barack Obama represents the change that is needed in the United States? Check out the change that Obama provided during his recent campaign stop in New Hampshire when Obama’s rally was minus the American National Anthem.  It was cancelled to make room for another speaker. What kind of political campaign would cut the National Anthem from its program? I wonder if any of you are curious of fearful of what next part of Americana will by cut in an Obama Presidency?

Not present, or at least not singing the National Anthem at the rally was Londonderry senior Zach Bencal.

Bencal, who sings the anthem for a number of school events and is actively involved in local community theatre, had been contacted by the Obama campaign to sing the anthem. He agreed to do so, then was told later in the evening the anthem had been scratched from the program. Bencal said he was told by the campaign the decision was a simple programming change to make room for another speaker.

“I guess it just wasn’t meant to be,” Bencal said.

Sandra Abrevaya, communications director for the Obama campaign’s Manchester office, confirmed the choice had simply been a last-minute scratch from the rally’s program, which included the Pledge of Allegiance.

What is wrong with this picture from at the Steak Fry of Sen. Tom Harkin on September 17 in Indianola, IA

Obama Camp Scraps National Anthem. Has there ever been a more stark contrast in two candidates running for President? Does anyone think that John McCain would cut the singing of the United States National Anthem for an additional speaker? Is it any wonder why the US military supports McCain over Obama.

That is correct. The Obama campaign cut the National Anthem from their political rally to make room for another speaker to tell everyone just how wonderful Barack Obama is. As Wizbang stated, “You’re getting this, right? Those of you who are not sure if questions about Obama are legitimate or just right-wing hackery?”

Check out this video from 2007, Obama does not even have the common decency to place his hand over his heart. First no wearing of a flag pin, then no hand over the hear and now now National Anthem. However, Obama tells us he is patriotic. To whom?  I guess it is a natural progression to just get rid of the National Anthem all together.

It is absolutely stunning and telling that a political campaign would dismiss the playing of the US National Anthem in place of another speaker at a political event.

How many brave men and women have given their lives for the Independence of the US in our history?

I am dismayed that the Obama campaign would some how think that the war that America fought for Independence and later the War of 1812 and the subsequent efforts by Francis Scott Key was nothing more than a scheduling conflict for them.

This speaks volumes of Obama. We all know that politicians lie and exaggerate about what they will do when elected. I include all politicians in that mix. However, the lack of character and respect to actually not play the National Anthem is more than telling.

America, this is the CHANGE you are about to elect.

      Oh, say can you see!
      By the dawn’s early light!
      What so proudly we hailed!
      At the twilight’s last gleaming!
Whose broad stripes and bright stars!
      Through the perilous fight!
      O’er the ramparts we watched!
      Were so gallantly streaming!
      And the rocket’s red glare!
      The bombs bursting in air!
      Gave proof through the night!
That our flag was still there!
Oh! Say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave.
O’er the land of the free…and the home of the brave.

Couple Finds Unauthorized Charge on Credit Card from Obama Campaign

      Alex Fees

      KSDK (St. Louis)
      October 18, 2008

KSDK — At least four credit card holders in Missouri have recently opened their statements and found unauthorized transactions, which charged $2,300 to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

It happened to Tom Brown and his wife a couple weeks ago. They became aware of it after Discover sent them an e-mail about an unusually large purchase.

“My wife said, ‘Oh my God!’ Right away, she called Discover to cancel the card,” Brown said. “I talked to Discover about it, and they said it looks like it was keyed in from Chicago.”

Specifically, the e-mail indicated the charge came from Obama for America Chicago Illinois. The Browns were able to get the charge refunded by Discover.

“It was under his name. Under ‘merchant,’ it read ‘Obama for America.’ And we basically would not give a politician $2,300 dollars. We would not give any politician, probably, a dollar. And I really, basically, don’t know who’s at fault, for this, or who did what,” Brown said. “But someone out there is trying to hit people’s charges and collect money. We were just interested in letting other people know that this could happen to them.”

Brown pointed out this was not a story about politics; it’s about credit card fraud.

“We mainly wanted to make sure it just got to the public that no one else gets taken advantage of because our feeling is what happens if someone else would not check their charge, and then they’re stuck with the charge?” he said.

Officials with the Obama Campaign in Missouri said they were aware of the suspicious credit card charges. Friday, the Missouri Obama Communications Director released this statement: “The Obama campaign is not responsible for these charges, but we have refunded all of the affected individuals and we are working closely with authorities regarding these questionable charges.”

It was not known whether that statement was an indication that some of the credit card money did get to the Obama Campaign, even if they did not initiate the charges.

A spokesperson for the Missouri Attorney General’s office has told the Associated Press that they were investigating a “handful” of similar incidents.

Not only the National Anthem, but also the Pledge of Allegiance – after all, we don’t want to remind people what’s really at stake when they choose the next President.

The political opinions of the Hollywood stars have to be far more important than the actual foundations of our country.

    5. Steve Holloway on October 18th, 2008 2:25 pm

Obama said he would not wear “that pin” (the American flag)

I seen it on his chest in the last debate.

He must think “What ever it takes to win”.

    6. Scared Monkeys on October 18th, 2008 4:38 pm

From what I have heard afterwards, they did have the Pledge. That is far from any consolation.

People need to seriously take a look at what type of Presidential campaign would blow off the National Anthem of the US to have one one pandering Kool-Aide drinking speaker at an event.

It takes all of 1 min 14 secs if they played instrumental.

And a whopping 2 min 14 sec with lyrics like done by Whitney Houston during Super Bowl during Desert Storm.

What a crock Obama and his campaign is. Take a good look America, you are about to lose your country to CHANGE.

“This is the change that people want.”
      “Just words? Just Speeches?”

Obama is a fraud, a con man and a creep.
The MSM is gleefully bringing America to it’s knees.
And if this Socialist is voted in as “President of the World”- as he has been campaigning- he will deliver the United Socialist States of America to the terrorists and the dictators on a silver platter.

Say good-bye to America as well know it.

Take pictures- it’s all going to be gone soon.
MAYBE- you’ll be able to keep your computers and cell phones long enough to appreciate it.
Because after Obama gets in- there will be no guns. The thought police will be out in full force.
If you pray, you will be in jail.
And the Fairness Doctrine will be passed.

We cannot risk our Freedom to this man who hates America so much and who has employed his henchman to gaurentee his election at ANY cost.
      ACORN-AYRES-G.D. AmeriKKKa Wright- JESUS-

Obama is a low life POS. I wouldn’t hire him to wipe my A$$. This campaign is truly GOOD verses EVIL. Obama and his ilk have infiltrated into our society at the highest levels and they must be stopped before we lose all our freedoms. Our fore fathers must be rolling in their graves.

Even I am worried about what Obama will turn out to be!

Going to his church FOR YEARS listening to anti-whites-hate-sermons… And later distancing himself from that???
Brought up by an atheist mother (?) and for years living in an muslim environment and now trying to make everybody believe he’s a true Christian?

As said above (#5): he’ll do and say whatever it takes to win! But in fact he’s a big enigma!!!

I’m afraid the US is in for a serious revolution!

Obama won’t be able to do a thing!! He is just a puppet being played by ‘The Powers That Be”…Maybe the Kennedys??

People speak as if he is already president and I am hoping that when people go into the privacy of the voting booth they will chose the one with experience and the one that will protect America with everything we have!!

Remember all…If you vote for obama just to prove you are not a racist is wrong. To vote for someone who would “scratch the Anthem” is wrong.

One way or another a revolution will occur after the election. One race is going to be pissed and the other will try to work against them. Real unity….

How in the world did this happen??

    15. MBS on October 19th, 2008 5:09 am

Wow, I just read that Obama gave up his law license in 2007. I guess everyone knew that, I just missed it somehow. People don’t just give up their law licenses for no reason, that’s bizarre. The only 2 reasons to give up your license is if you have moved to another state and become licensed in that state, so you don’t need the license you are giving up anymore (obviously inapplicable here), OR, you have a pending complaint against you that could lead to disbarment. You voluntarily give up your license pending disciplinary action, to avoid having it TAKEN away. Why don’t we see anything about this in MSM?

    16. MBS on October 19th, 2008 6:15 am

I’ve found some articles saying Obama gave up his license when a complaint was filed against him saying he lied on his bar application. That is a huge deal, if true. It is not a small thing to give up your license, most people don’t give up their license just because they pursue politics. Just the opposite. Bill Clinton while president kept his law license until he was forced to give it up as part of a plea agreement. Many senators and representatives are lawyers, they don’t give up their licenses. It’s not hard to keep up, 2 days of continuing education each year, and speaking engagements can be substituted for classes. And it’s not easy to get back after you give it up, you either have to re-take the bar, or demonstrate that you’ve kept up your continuing education anyway, so why give it up to begin with?

If Obama lied on his bar application, that is an incredible indictment of his character.

During a recent discussion concerning the National Anthem, Obama was asked -WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO REPLACE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM WITH?

OIbama replied – “I’D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING”

      I’m not kidding you!

This guy is off the rails insane.

I’ve never seen anything like this idiot and apparently 48% of the country is too stupid to be allowed to vote.

    19. Rob on October 19th, 2008 8:55 am

One more – I heard last week that Obama WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PASS AN FBI BACKGROUND CHECK.

I wonder why, and WHY is this coming out so late in the campaign.

Yesterday on Fox News one of the Obama spokeswomen finally let it slip that the 250K income IS GROSS, NOT NET.

There will be more people cooking the books than ever before. The people doing the majority of the cooking will be a DEMOCRAT MAJORITY SHOULD THEY GET A SUPER-MAJORITY. (Which I seriously doubt, but with all the voter fraud, who knows).

Back to the 250K income level – if you manage to make 250K in any given year but have expenses that only leave you with 50K you will be paying taxes on the entire 250k at that level.

Too bad she let it slip, no one was suppose to know that until tax time next year.

Has a DEMOCRAT ever given the MIDDLE CLASS A TAX CUT? IF YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THAT QUESTION – you’re a democrat.

That means no tax cuts and IN FACT – TAX INCREASES FOR ALL.

      Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

One last note – when Clinton left office there was a “surplus” – that’s code for EVERYONE WAS OVER TAXED AND EVEN THE DEMOCRATS COULDN’T SPEND IT ALL.

      What a great Country!!

      Okay, Let’s see:
-Obama is a muslim who is excessively influenced by his Christian pastor.
-We won’t vote for Obama because he’ll force whites to pay reparations to decendents of slaves, and he’s 2/3 arab.
-Obama’s an elitist who stirs up the masses.
-Obama’s a celebrity, and is just like Karl Marx.
-Obama doesn’t have enough experience to lead because he’s a manchurian candidate who’s been trained since infancy to manipulate the American political process.
-Obama’s not like us, he’s unamerican. That must be why he has such a scary following among American youth. Youth just love unamerican people…

Did I get them all (only the ‘lite’ stuff)?

I remeber all the rightwing crazies during Clinton:
-He’s coke dealer and murderer and will suspend the elections
-His attacks on Bin Laden are ‘wagging the dog’
-His wife killed Vince Foster and hung crack pipes and dildos on the White House Christmas tree
-They are going to mandate gay sex education
-They are going to socialize health care.

We now have an Administration that has suspended Habeas Corpus, can eavesdrop with impunity and has an appalling record of corruption, cronyism, and economic idiocy.

Now I’m supposed to think a Senator from Illinois is worse than Hitler?

General Colin Powell endorsed Obama today and just dropped a good ass kick on the GOP (wingnut heads are exploding over this).
The Muslim American soldier story he told was some of the strongest stuff that’s been said this whole campaign cycle. It’s that antithesis of the “us vs them” mentality that is predominating right now.

    23. MBS on October 19th, 2008 11:54 am

I don’t think Obama is a muslim, or a Manchurian candidate. I do think his liberal tax and spend policies, along with his stated intention to discourage free trade by raising tariffs, will drive this country straight into a depression, or at the very least, greatly deepen and prolong the current recession. I also think his associations with people like Ayers, Wright, Revko, show a lack of character and judgment that indicate he is not competent to lead this country.

    24. Richard on October 19th, 2008 12:04 pm

In re Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama …

I didn’t see the TV interview, but read about it.

And one comment has left me furious. Here it is (taken from an AP story):

Moderator Tom Brokaw said: “There will be some … who will say this is an African-American, distinguished American supporting another African-American because of race.”

Powell, who last year gave Republican John McCain’s campaign the maximum $2,300, replied: “If I had only had that in mind, I could have done this six, eight, 10 months ago. I really have been going back and forth between somebody I have the highest respect and regard for, John McCain and somebody I was getting to know, Barack Obama. And it was only in the last couple of months that I settled on this.”

“I can’t deny that it will be a historic event when an African-American becomes president,” Powell continued, speaking live in the studio. “And should that happen, all Americans should be proud — not just African-American, but all Americans — that we have reached this point in our national history where such a thing could happen. It would also not only electrify the country, but electrify the world.”

      (end of quote)

We all know that there are some people who will vote for Obama because of his race, just as there are some people who will vote against him because of his race. Sad, but no surprise there.

But for some TV flack to raise such a question with as distinguished an American as Colin Powell leaves me FURIOUS. Does anyone think that Powell is an imbecile or a babe in the woods?

      As an American, I’m disgusted.

And as an American, though I didn’t vote for Obama, I concur with what Powell says in his last paragraph.

I think Tom Brokaw and his network owe the country an apology.

    25. Steve Holloway on October 19th, 2008 12:28 pm

#24 – Richard, I’m not getting your point. Did Powell say that he is looking forward to seeing an African-American become President, or didn’t he?

    27. nurturer on October 19th, 2008 2:51 pm

“I don’t believe she’s ready to be president of the United States,” Powell said.

      And Obama is?

      Here’s the news General:

      “She” isn’t running for President.

This would be laughable if the stakes weren’t so high. When Obama pulls a Herbert Hoover, where will Powell be then to explain again with his usual eloquence, why he picked the man that put the country into depression?

The same way he’s been gone for that last five years.

    28. on October 19th, 2008 3:02 pm

Yesterday on Fox News one of the Obama spokeswomen finally let it slip that the 250K income IS GROSS, NOT NET.

Guess no one read my post several days back about Obama’s funky math. Yes, Joe the Plumber and Obama were talking “revenues” which means no expenses taken out. Obama is also talking about “tax cuts” to 95% of Americans and yet 40% of Americans don’t pay taxes so a “tax cut” for 95% is mathematically impossible. As I said then and will repeat – his math gets even funkier because he then removes the 40% that don’t pay taxes when he talks about the 5% that will get tax increases. That’s 5% of those that DO pay taxes that get a tax increase (which means it’s 5% taxpayers).

And btw, if you believe that only 5% of taxpayers will get a tax increase (while Obama is giving tax credits to those that don’t pay taxes), then you need to go back to school because Obama’s math doesn’t work.

    29. Richard on October 19th, 2008 3:04 pm

What Powell said, I believe, is that it should be seen as a triumph for the American system (and we don’t have many of them lately) that a black man can be a realistic candidate for the presidency.

      And I agree with that.

Now, the fact that people overseas may get excited over this is irrelevant; we, not they, are the ones to choose.

And as I said above, Obama’s race is irrelevant to his qualifications or lack thereof.

But fifty years ago, or less, would this have been considered even remotely possible?

So to that extent, I agree with Powell.

And as I said above, I think it is incredibly condescending of Brokaw to ask Colin Powell about the motives for his endorsement.

Was quite funny to hear Obama say today that Colin Powell has good judgement.. Wasn’t it Obama who voted against the war? And oh wasn’t it Colin Powell who went before the United Nations to make the case for the war..which liberals love saying now it was based on lies..

To this end, Powell addressed a plenary session of the United Nations Security Council on February 5, 2003 to argue in favor of military action. Citing “numerous” anonymous Iraqi defectors, Powell asserted that “there can be no doubt that Saddam Hussein has biological weapons and the capability to rapidly produce more, many more.”[13] Powell also stated that there was “no doubt in my mind” that Saddam was working to obtain key components to produce nuclear weapons.[14]
Most observers praised Powell’s oratorical skills. However, Britain’s Channel 4 News reported soon afterwards that a UK intelligence dossier that Powell had referred to as a “fine paper” during his presentation had been based on old material and plagiarized an essay by an American graduate student.[15][16] A 2004 report by the Iraq Survey Group concluded that the evidence that Powell offered to support the allegation that the Iraqi government possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) was inaccurate.

Sarah Palin sets ‘SNL’ ratings record

Sarah Palin’s visit to “Saturday Night Live” drew the show’s highest overnight rating in 14 years.

Last night’s telecast, hosted by Josh Brolin and featuring musical guest Adele, averaged a 10.7 rating and 24 share in 56 metered markets, according to Nielsen Media Research. That’s the highest overnight ‘SNL’ average since a 1994 episode that was hosted by Nancy Kerrigan and featured musical guest Aretha Franklin.

      #29 Richard,

If you were a company owner, (and perhaps you are) would you hire an individual because he or she is African-American?

Race and skin color should NEVER be an issue. Even when brought up by a publically heralded military general.

MERIT is the ONLY concern you should have as an employer. And as a voter, you are hiring. You are the employer. You are hiring the President of the United States. To observe that the voting in of a African-American man or women is a progressive moment is irrelevant and foolish. Again, MERIT is what makes a candidate viable. Not skin pigmentation.

As for Powell to even bring up the issue of race confirms where his mind is. For General Powell, it’s about the race of the candidate, NOT the MERIT of that candidate that matters.

      #36-Nurturer—–Your Post = BRAVO

ENCORE ! BUT ! Once again, this damn race issue unnecesarily comes up.

Here are a few things, IMO which should AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY BARACK OBAMA for the Office of the Presidency:

************* ACORN!!!!!! NEED WE SAY MORE!!!
      *************** CHARACTER ISSUES
      ******************** EMPTY SUIT, EMPTY PROMISES

      That’s just for starters.

Knowing Richard as I do, I believe he was pointing out the same thing Nurturer did.

Me, I’d like solid proof that Barack Obama is even eligible to run for President. This really bothers me that we could be this close to an election and there are no checks and balances to assure us that both candidates meet the requirements. Why on earth doesn’t someone just provide proof if there is any?

    39. nurturer on October 20th, 2008 5:57 am

#37 ANewGirl, All of what you listed are points that need more focus and investigation, which unfortunately won’t happen, because the owners of the so-called ‘free press’ want Obama to win.

Yesterday, I explained to a TWENTY-FIVE year old woman the difference between the liberal and conversative philosophies. She didn’t know. She is not the exception however, but the rule. I am happy to say that she didn’t feel Obama was a good choice. So, maybe there is hope.

Then again, I know 39 year olds that are cheering for Obama. They come in all age groups. My answer to them is a simple one. And that is:

We all have to grow up sometime. And, if Senator Obama becomes President of the United States, he will force you to do exactly that.

Nurturer, once again … nobody is saying (I hope) that Obama’s being black qualifies him to be president. We have gotten to the point where race, sex, etc., should be irrelevant. (Wish I did own a company, but I don’t.)

But that’s the specific issue of Obama.

Obviously Powell has political objectives in view; that’s part and parcel of giving endorsements.

But I’m talking not about Obama’s qualifications, but the idea that a black can be a LEGITIMATE CANDIDATE for the position. Within my lifetime, he might well have gotten lynched in certain parts of the country.

And now he is a leading candidate to run that same country.

Whether you support Obama or not (and I didn’t vote for him), THAT is what, I think, people overseas are focusing on … that what is being heralded as the American dream does indeed seem to be open to all.

It’s the process of possibility … which is something quite different from saying that a particular individual should be elected.

SPREAD THE WEALTH!!!! HA!!! Welcome to MY world!!!

If the middle class in America dont think they will be dragged down with taxes then i think they are in for a rude awakening, Here in the UK its down wright disgraceful, if you are REALLY rich then who gives a damn, you can absorb the extra burden and still maintain your lifestyle, NOT SO for the middle class, i can assure you over the past 8 maybe 10 years the government have been slowly squeezing every spare penny out of us, we are the back-bone of the country but bear the burden of a whole section of the public who are used to benefits(welfare) as a way of LIFE.We call them STEALTH TAXES they slip them in here and there, dress them up as something else !!!

If my husband and i were not tied to his job, because of long service, we would be off like a shot and go and live in France, at least the French dont sit back and let their government walk all over them.

A national health service!!!! my son is going in for an operation on Thursday, the health providers are brilliant but the hospitals are filthy, it really is a worry and fingers crossed he will NOT be kept in over night as an infection is then a higher risk, hardly what you might expect in the 21st century!!!!

    43. on October 20th, 2008 8:57 am

Mary in the UK: I understand what you are saying. I lived in Germany for 4 years and there were differences that I quickly picked up.

      1. Germans were assigned “classes” and based on their assigned “class”, they received health care and education (through the government). Mind you, the healthcare and education between classes was totally different.

      2. Because the Germans received so much from their government and got so much of anything additional taken back from them (50% to 55% taxes) we couldn’t get the German workers to work overtime even when offering double pay.

      3. The Germans had learned that it was fruitless to attempt to move from one “class” to another. They did their jobs without ever desiring to increase their responsibilities. If you gave them 4 hours of work, they would spread it over 8 hours rather than finish and ask for more.

If anyone on this board is wondering why Obama is carrying all the supporters he is, read the article below. Frightening indeed! Please send this one around. Has to get out to the public.

I’ve only heard this from one other person who used to practice hypnosis…said Obama was “hypnotizing” his followers. Now this article confirmed what the man told me.

    48. Michelle on October 20th, 2008 1:05 pm

Sorry…….I thought this was an open minded informative site for those searching for the truth? Today, I learned differently. Might people want to validate the above information with, then the truth shall be revealed. I find it disheartening in 2008 in theses United States of America, people revel in fiction. Barack Obama is a genuine human wanting to take on our country’s problems and solve them one step at a time. From reading this story, it looks like education is a huge problem in our society. May you all learn to open your minds and hearts………..a whole lot more.

i see he’s got you too. if you can look at the picture of him denying the flag, and can still vote for him, i pity you.i really feel sorry for all you who are willing to do away with the symbol of your freedom for some smooth talking snake with plans to take this away from you. my flag will always be the Stars & Stripes !

I read most of the article; very interesting. And I agree: it looks like Obama is using many of these techniques. You can feel it when he’s speeching; it’s indeed very seductive. And he really tries to drag you into his argumentation.
That’s probably the difference between just having a good ghostwriter and having a hardcore-manipulation-team… This article is a real stomach-turner.

    55. Brenda from Virginia on October 20th, 2008 5:42 pm

Oh Michelle…don’t forget to also request we open our pockets because the change Obama wants means that’s all we’ll have let to spend.

See, most of the posters in here DO have open minds…why we can see Obama is an empty suit carrying the torch of socialism.

    56. Brenda from Virginia on October 20th, 2008 7:02 pm

I agree with YOU Super Dave. I’ve had a couple of folks try to hypnotize me, couldn’t do it. Funny to watch them try I couldn’t stop laughing at one of them.

I was told those who CAN be hypnotized are a danger to themselves because you can only hypnotize a person who WANTS to be. In other words, that person is too open to suggestion and easily manipulated. Just a simple fact that Obama knows, understands, and uses to his advantage.

Yikes…what a weak lot so many have become.
