Aruba Triple Murder: Son Eugene Lampe Confesses to Triple Murder … Compare & Contrast to Natalee Holloway Death & Disappearance

What a difference a crime makes and who committed the crime. It would appear that Eugene Lampe initially made false comments to the police that made them skeptical of his initial statement. Did Eugene say that he dropped his 3 murdered family members off at the Holiday Inn as Joran Van der Sloot had once done? Did Eugene Lampe say he left his murdered family on the beach?

Two crimes … two drastically different outcomes. Yes, the crimes are different in nature; however, why would the ALE not have initially believed the story in once case but in another allowed the fraud to continue?

In the end it is nice to have friends in high places that can exert power and influence.

Son Eugene confesses triple murder (Amigoe: April 7, 2008)

Also on Saturday did the technical detectives search the house of the Family Lampe in Macuarima.  Son Eugene has meanwhile confessed having killed his family.

ORANJESTAD – The 29-year old son Eugene Lampe confessed having killed his father Juan (60), his mother Ina (57), and his brother Edvard (30) last Friday and setting fire to the house afterwards.  Amigoe received confirmation of the above from very reliable sources.

The Public Prosecutor (OM) didn’t want to confirm nor deny this information.  They want to wait for the autopsy, which is done today, before they give details on the murders.  The results and the declaration of Eugene will be disclosed via a press conference at the end of the afternoon.  The police arrested Eugene on suspicion of arson, murder, and manslaughter.  The house was immediately sealed and searched by four officials of the technical detective.  They also searched for traces in the house and cars of the victims on Saturday.

They have meanwhile wound up that investigation, said the OM.  Nothing is known yet about the motive of the culprit, who is supposedly a drug addict with no police record.  The third son of the family, Iwan, who lives in the Netherlands, arrived in Aruba last Saturday evening.  He was immediately received by the authorities.  A condolence register is meanwhile started on the internet for son Edvard, who in addition to his work for radio station Top FM, was also very popular with his musical talents.

Two totally different crimes and 2 totally different outcomes as is pointed out in the article.

We still want Justice for Natalee Holloway and her family. Personally, I could give a rat’s as* about anyone else on that island who meets their demise. Horrible to say, but until some type of justice is finally offered…hard to garner up any sympathy for other victims of violent crimes there. I certainly wish no one there any ill will, but won’t be shedding any tears for them either.

The guy can always claim he was high on weed when he confessed and go play poker in Holland. He could also do 20 tv appearances and keep changing his story.

Maybe Oduber will appear and say he’s sick of this case or Rudy Croes can say he wasn’t taking any action shutting the family up, but didn’t rule it out in the future. Maybe they can hire more paid liars to spin it around in circles.
Or they can put out bizarre pictures on certain websites degrading the victims. They could also refer to them as only 1 person and call them degrading names. Did the cop on the scene say wait while I shave and eat my frosted flakes and have coffee, then come back hours later and say we won’t be needing your statement? Or go over and have a beer at Carlos N Charlies, but watch your drink, they might drug you.

Clearly this is a very sad tragedy, but handled the complete opposite of Natalee’s case for a reason.

Aruba prosecutor considers secret footage in Holloway case admissible in court

By MARGARET WEVER , Associated Press

      Last update: February 5, 2008 – 5:20 AM

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – A hidden-camera interview with a Dutch student saying missing teenager Natalee Holloway was dead and that he had a friend dump her body at sea is admissible in court, the chief Aruban prosecutor said.

The courts in Aruba will likely accept the tape as evidence because it was recorded by a private citizen without any influence by authorities, Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos told reporters Monday.

“I take it very seriously,” Mos said of the video.

The tape, which was first broadcast Sunday on Dutch television, has appeared to spur the investigation: Mos said authorities in the Netherlands searched two homes Monday where Joran Van der Sloot has lived while attending college there.

A judge in Aruba denied a prosecution request to detain Van der Sloot based on the new information. Mos said they will file an appeal Tuesday and expect a decision within a week.

The prosecutor declined to provide any details about the searches. Bert de Rooij, a lawyer for Van der Sloot in the Netherlands, said police took a hard drive and a laptop.

De Rooij, speaking on Dutch television Monday, said the college student would make himself available for questioning by authorities if necessary. “As far as Joran is concerned, that can happen soon,” he told the news program “Nova.”

In the secret recordings, Van der Sloot said Holloway, 18, was drunk and that she began shaking and slumped down on the beach as they were kissing in May 2005.

“Suddenly she started shaking and then she didn’t say anything,” Van der Sloot said in Dutch, adding that he did not kill her. “I would never murder a girl.”

He said he panicked and tried but failed to revive her. He said that Holloway looked dead but that he could not be sure she was not still alive when a friend took her away. Van der Sloot identified the friend only as “Daury.”

Chris Lejeuz, an attorney for a 21-year-old man named Daury Rodriguez, who is an associate of Van der Sloot’s, appeared with his client at a news conference in Oranjestad Monday and denied his client had any role in Holloway’s death.

Mos said prosecutors believe Van der Sloot was telling the truth in the video because he seemed to struggle as he told the story and repeated it several times.

“Now, whether that is the truth, that has to be seen …” he said. “Finally the court will have to decide whether this is a declaration … that we can use as evidence in this court of law.”

In the interview, Van der Sloot speaks to Patrick van der Eem, a 34-year-old Dutch businessman who told ABC News that he befriended the younger man with the intention of prying a confession out of him.

Van der Eem said he spent about two months getting to know Van der Sloot, regularly smoking marijuana together and playing poker late into the night, the businessman approached Dutch television crime reporter Peter R. de Vries, who rigged up a new Range Rover with secret cameras to capture their conversations.

“Why did I want this? It’s obvious. Everybody was looking for the truth for (Holloway’s) mother,” he told ABC News, which planned to broadcast the interview on its “20/20″ program Monday night. “I’m a father. I have two children, a girl six years old and a boy two years old.”

Van der Eem, who grew up in the Caribbean, said he was angry with Van der Sloot for damaging the reputation of Aruba and the Netherlands.

Joseph Tacopina, a lawyer for Van der Sloot, said his client was not responsible for the Alabama teenager’s death and that the tapes do not amount to a confession.

“There was no confession, no admission of a crime by Joran on any of these tapes, which is very telling,” Tacopina said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Last week, Van der Sloot said he was lying in those conversations and denied that he had anything to do with Holloway’s disappearance. In the secret footage, Van der Sloot spoke with a man he believed to be his friend, who gave him “drugs, marijuana, things like that,” Tacopina told ABC.

But Natalee’s mother, Beth Twitty, told ABC: “I don’t think any of us are surprised by his reaction (that his comments were fiction), but I know one thing. Once people see the video of Joran there are no more questions. There is no one who can walk away from this believing that he is innocent.”

She said Van der Sloot didn’t even know if her daughter was alive or not.

“Natalee never even had the chance for a medical doctor or a coroner, anyone, to determine (if she was alive),” Twitty said.

Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., was last seen leaving a bar with Van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers hours before she was due to board a flight home.

The three were arrested shortly after her disappearance and again in November, but released for lack of evidence. Prosecutors then dismissed their case against them, saying they lacked evidence even to prove a crime. All three have always denied any role in her disappearance.

Just another example of how life is unfair ….

Suppose that Eugene Lampe had had the acquaintance of a judge who, when the police came, told them that whatever their search warrant may have said (assuming they had one in this case), it couldn’t be followed.

Interesting line in the article above: “Nothing is known yet about the motive of the culprit, who is supposedly a drug addict with no police record.”

If it turns out that he isn’t a drug addict, methinks a libel suit is in the offing.

    10. barbreee on April 10th, 2008 7:10 pm

Eugene, big deal. Some drugged out nobody gets the full treatment of the Aruban law. Throwing the book at him. Slam dunk case.

Too little, too late for Natalee. It should never be too late for Natalee. We’re waiting for the Aruban authorities to fess up. They have no reputation left, what’s to lose by being honest now?

I think the main difference is that Eugene was found at the scene, and he was already acting suspicious when found. I heard he was chilling in the house while the fire department was handling the flames.

He calmly killed his dad and brother, waited hours for his mom to come home and then killed her too… He’s a psychiatric patient… literally… Iwan doesn’t deserve this. We’re there for you man!

Well without going into details..Word of mouth says he was about to be committed the week after. Arrangements had already been made and he rebelled. Though very few of those details have made it into mainstream media, everyone you speak to has the same or very similar story. And Eugene is generally considered to have a few nuts and bolts missing.

And while major U.S. tour operators say they have logged no cancellations to a popular vacation spot that draws about 530,000 Americans a year, its longtime reputation as one of the region’s safest places is coming under scrutiny.

Just 15 miles north of Venezuela, the small, multi-ethnic Dutch protectorate is known for its dry, sunny climate, expansive beaches and lively nightlife, including 11 casinos. And, says the guidebook Frommer’s Portable Aruba, a “low crime rate is the envy of nearly every other island in the region. Where else would you see tourists over 60 and women in their 20s hitchhiking without a qualm? Aruba’s boomed in the past couple of decades, and the rapid changes and influx of new people have disturbed the way of life a bit. … But you may find that you feel safer in Aruba than at home.”

That status was challenged by Holloway’s disappearance May 30. Prosecutors have detained three young Arubans who reportedly drove Holloway to a beach after leaving Carlos ‘N Charlie’s, a night spot in the capital, Oranjestad.

Detailed crime statistics are hard to come by: In 2003, the most recent year with available data, there were 4,236 crimes, though no specifics on those against tourists. According to Aruba’s attorney general, five homicides were reported last year. But police have not provided a breakdown of offenses since 1995, says Martijn Balkestein of the Central Bureau of Statistics. (Related story: Travel firms feel little fallout)

The U.S. State Department’s travel advice for Aruba states that “street crime is low, but there have been incidents of theft from hotel rooms. Armed robbery has been known to occur. Valuables left unattended on beaches, in cars and in hotel lobbies are easy targets for theft. Car theft, including that of rental vehicles for joy riding and stripping, can occur.”

    31. misskatie on April 10th, 2008 11:37 pm

armed robberies of Americans have turned violent when the victims resisted handing over valuables.” The department’s lengthy “Tips for Travelers to Mexico,” meanwhile, includes such cautions as “be careful when ordering beverages in local nightclubs and bars, especially at night” and “U.S. citizens should not hitchhike or accept rides from strangers.”

But the State Department’s 2005 International Narcotics Control Strategy Report notes that “while Aruba enjoys a low crime rate, prominent drug traffickers are establishing themselves sporadically on the island … drugs are easily found within walking distance of Oranjestad’s cruise pier and are frequently peddled to cruise ship tourists. The expanding use of (Ecstasy) in clubs by young people attracts increasing attention.”

The mystery surrounding Holloway’s disappearance has generated speculation on travel blogs and message boards, says Amy Ellis of Aruba-TravelGuide.com. But although “a few people are rethinking their trips because they think the case should have been solved by now, I’m not hearing of many cancellations,” Ellis says.

Says Justin McNaull of AAA Travel: “The reality of travel is that you can get mugged anywhere, (and) the greatest danger to Americans traveling abroad is car crashes. If this stands up as being an isolated incident, it’s unlikely to have a long-term impact.”

Bringing this over from previous thread (page 2):

      Dolf:

      You don’t believe in cannibalism?

      Do a word search:

      ‘Cannibalism in Korea’

      and

      ‘Modern-day Cannibalism’

      .

      Enlighten yourself!

      .

Anyone that believes that we live in a world of teddy bears and paper dolls need to wake up. The world is not a safe place to be… anywhere. But the reason that we’re here is to be instrumental in showing the Aruban Government, as well as others, that we are not going to ignore the violence subjected to our children because of the values that we, as responsible parents, instill in them. Americans don’t own the world, but if we buy a ticket to a destination, act in harmony with their laws, then, we deserve to be protected just as any other citizen of that country does. Americans are not expendable and a child should not have to pay the ultimate price, because of either the Anti-American sentiment that seems to run rampant in the underground, or because of the corruption that comes from being in a small country that protects their own.

We act fairly when we are confronted with crime, even when that crime is committed by our own servicemen, whom we hold in high esteem. But even they are not above the law as was evident in the prosecution of the men that gang raped a young girl in Okanawa. Fair is fair and there is no room for games when it comes to the safety of our people, whether they be Dutch, Scottish, Irish, Japanese, Chinese, or African, etc.

A country that calls itself a democracy, needs to act like one instead of showing bias to their own politically connected families that think that their actions should go unpunished, simply, because of the people they know.

Dolf, if you can’t understand that, you will never understand anything that I say or do. And, yes, I am looking into the ’so called rumor’ and will be the first to admit if I was wrong. The only ones that know for sure are the ones that were present and many of them are not the easiest people to reach, especially, with all the legal maneuvering that is going on regarding this case.

Natalee was a high-school girl, that’s all; and she never deserved for her murder to end up in the middle of some political arena. She deserves to go home; and while I agree with Jugs that her death will mean life for millions of others, just like her; our main objective is to bring justice against those responsible and return her to her family.

Is that so hard to believe?

      .

      Mary in the U.K:

      IMHO:

The reason that the U.S. State Department is dragging their feet, in listing Aruba as unsafe and insisting that they complete the reports regarding human rights violations and money laundering operations over the past several years; is because the U.S. has an air to land surveilance base in Aruba. Chavez, who is a modern day tyrant in the region who supports the trafficking of men, women, children, drugs, oil and anything that he can get his hands on; has disallowed the U.S. to monitor his airspace for drug cartel. The U.S. doesn’t want to lose their ties with Aruba and ultimately lose the base… which it pays Aruba millions of dollars a year to operate.

I know it sounds like political rubbish; but that is why many Americans feel sold out by their own country when it comes to the Natalee Holloway missing person case. Before the release of Aruba from the Antilles, and the election of Oduber, crime against Americans in Aruba was almost unheard of. But, with the “good ol’ boys” who are allies with Chavez are in power, it is a very sticky situation that the State Department doesn’t want to get stuck in. I think they are leaving it up to the Netherlands to straighten things out and to slap the hands of the powers that be in Aruba into subjection. However, with Chavez whispering in the ear of Prime Minister Nelson Oduber, who are both Arawak; he seems to think that the island of Aruba is indespensible and that his leadership of the Aruban people is one that will continue under the free-wheeling power of the politically incorrect.

      Hugs to Nemo…

      Nite, all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lampe
family. May God hold you especially tight
tonight and in the coming days as the shock of
the events over the last couple of days subside
and the reality, of how a moment of madness can
effect us all, sets in. There is no easy answer
to the many questions that must be racing through
your minds, but lean upon God and he will carry
      you through.

      .

      Good-Night

Joran has never acted suspicious? He has lied, admitted guilt, etc, and all the officials do is look the other way. JMO

This case was handed to the officials with all the evidence needed. Just burns my ass how this should have been handled and has not thus far. Natalee & family need justice.

Says Justin McNaull of AAA Travel: “The reality of travel is that you can get mugged anywhere, (and) the greatest danger to Americans traveling abroad is car crashes. If this stands up as being an isolated incident, it’s unlikely to have a long-term impact.”

Says Richard of ScaredMonkeys: If this stands up as being a cover-up by elements of the Aruban government and law enforcement, with the aim of protecting its own people and DEFEATING justice, rather than promoting it, how many people will want to go to Aruba?

And how many people will say ‘Somebody ought to do something on behalf of an American family fighting a foreign government’?

And, maybe, how many politicians will stand up and demand action by our own government for our own citizens abroad (if we persuade them that there are votes for them in doing so)?

    46. kaye on April 11th, 2008 2:11 pm

richard…..i’m convinced that this is a case where our own american governmental representatives has turned their backs on “us” (US-as in justice4natalee supporters, beth, dave and their families)they did turn thier back on natalee for sure. everyone from the fbi to the state department. i cannot speak for those individuals, but it appears that they “thought” they had bigger fish to fry than one little ole girl from alabama. well, she was more than one little ole girl from alabama. she was an american citizen. someone’s daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, friend. she was a flesh and blood human being who DID NOT deserve to have her life end in the fashion it did (from what we know). she did not deserve to be put through the pain and fear that i’m positive she felt before she died.
it breaks my heart every time i think of what she must have gone through at the hands of those cruel, evil, heartless pieces of sh–. uncaring, unfeeling, evil pieces of sh–. no conscience whatsoever. no remorse. as i’ve said before……my only consolation is that one day ALL of them from the top down, will stand before God and answer the charges put before them. they will not be able to lie or coverup their actions. God already knows. The trap doors of hell will open up wide. and may they burn in hell forever.
pardon, i tend to get emotional everytime i think of what natalee may have gone through in her final hours. i have two beautiful daughters of my own, 34 and 30 years old. i cannot imagine what i would do if such a thing happened to either one of them. so my heart goes out to beth and dave and i pray that soon the truth will come out and they can get some sort of justice for natalee.
(you have to excuse menopausal women…they tend to get very emotional!!)

I see noone gloating about a homicide.. I see people upset about justice denied.. and well we all know what they say,, Justice denied is justice delayed.

Just because there is no body for Natalee Holloway, doesn’t make it any less horrific what was done to an unsuspecting 18 year old girl out to celebrate her graduation before going away to college. In fact ask any parent of a missing child, the not knowing where your child’s body is , is the worst.

    49. Maggie on April 11th, 2008 4:13 pm

Speaking of gloating, 2 comments from Aruba..Especially the All’s well that ends well.. How sick is he?

      January 23, 2006
Oduber disputes the fact that he himself had recently approached a group to come look for the girl in Aruba. “I am sick and tired of the case. I do not talk about this case with people; not with the Attorney General, not with the OM. In the beginning I have discussed the matter with the American FBI, but I do not do that anymore. The OM and the Aruban police are doing the investigation and they have to try to conclude it right. I think that Aruba can do the investigation right herself, but if the OM and the police are of the opinion that they need assistance from abroad, they can get that.

“We’ll be glad when it’s out of the media … We’ve suffered enough,” said John Herbert, a receptionist at the Arubiana Inn on the island of white sand beaches off the coast of Venezuela.

The bailiff of the OM informed Lawyer Ariean de Bie of this between 11:00 and 12:00 this morning. “That definitely concludes the case”, said De Bie. “All’s well that ends well.

It’s here in the middle of the night 4.33 am. All the time I’m thinking about the case of Natalee as much as I can. Here in Holland they keep silence because of the trial which seems to me almost impossible: we are grey at the end you see.

The power of the Press? Not the American press, but none other than Aruba’s own Diario. Easily verifiable – Diario has reported that tourism numbers for 2005, 2006, 2007, and already into 2008 – have fallen dramatically. Diario each time quotes sources (Aruban) who blame the Natalee Holloway “affair” as being the direct cause.

Well would yah believe that afterall? If someone told me they could attribute a devastating downturn in economic health to a known fact, would it not be both prudent and reasonable to correct the “situation”?

Nah, why not just hire a few new “yes men” to lie to me, try ineffective obviously blatent half & mis-truths, and proclaim the tourism economy is on the rise. Really? Four years of losing ground, and no one imagines telling the truth or punishing the guilty responsible for a devastating economy would help?

Wait until the full 2008 fiscal year is recapped….Tourism by free spending Americans down 76%, increase of 1.2% (1,200 semi-employed) Columbians. Nice trade off!

    58. misskatie on April 12th, 2008 6:56 pm

klaasend who is sergio gomez I copied this from the forum .. I am trying to figure out who is who

Hey Observer, do you think Ruth Dijkhoff was murdered??? that seems to say two people were murdered on the same day… that only leaves Ruth as the other murdered person.

or the Aruba brain trust mis-reported her cause of death and were confused who died how.. make sense?

I am very suspicious because she was only 50 and was working at the bank just a couple weeks earlier when she met with Paul Van Der Sloot. It’s not like she had a terminal disease or anything so it must have been a sudden death. It makes me even more suspicious seeing Dan Riehl say there were two confirmed murders around the same day. This from a island that procalims itself of having no crime and the safest in the carribean. Who was the second person murdered and was he talking about Sergio Gomez as the missing person? Was he found? Have anymore Mattresses been found soaked in dogs blood the last 34 months?

      ________________________
SM: Sergio Gomez was a person wrongly identified as the one who got the “colombian necktie”. The person that was nearly decapitaded was actually Rene van Heinegin (sp). Sergio Gomez we were told was a reporter that was missing around the same time. We were also told that his white truck was found and then he turned up (alive and well). At least that’s what we were told.

We don’t know how Ruth Dijkhoff died. Very suspicious though, IMO (klaasend)

On the Sunday Morning Open thread on Gretawire.com there is a “bmurphy” reporting that he/she is staying at the Shilla Hotel, Seoul, Korea and that Joran Van der Sloot and his parents, all laughing and gleeful, checked into that hotel today??? Could this possibly be true??? Nobody on Gretawire picked up on it…busy on politics as usual.

Eugene Lampe Hires Paulus Van Der Sloot. (In a perfect world).

Eugene Lampe hired Paulus Van Der Sloot as his defense attorney.

The coroner reported that when he went to perform autopsies on the three deceased persons in the case, the bodies had vanished.

Eugene Lampe quickly recanted his confessions, and said he was only trying to get attention, and he had seen O.J. Sim. Al Sharp , Jessie Jack, and Jimmy Car, leaving his parents house as flames burst through the roof. He repeated what Paulus had advised him to say, “No body—–well, we all know the rest.”

Eugene said when he arrived at his parents house, he saw O.J. Sim carrying a gallon of gasoline, Jimmy Car with a Bic lighter, and Al Sharp and Jessie Jack with stupid looks on their faces.

Eugene was quickly released from jail, and Paulus filled a lawsuit on his client’s behalf for false imprisonment. The Aruba District Attorney filed arrest warrants for O.J. Sim, Al Sharp, Jessie Jack, and Jimmie Car. Jimmie Car was quickly rounded up and arrested as he was working on a habitat for humanity project on the island. He proclaimed his innocence (yea, right, aren’t they all!) He said I’m just sharing good times with some old friends.

A lady at the airport called and said that O. J. Sim was there, trying to rent a white Bronco at the Avis Car Rental booth. He made a get away by leaping over chairs and one old lady. However, a short, fat, blonde headed lady in a see- through blouse captured the suspected murderer with a bite to the buttock (the right cheek). He was lying on the floor in severe pain, when the police arrived. They described him as a naked guy with a gun from the files of police squad, what ever that means.

The other two suspects were seen headed for Venezuela in a pink and purple cigarette boat. They were overheard saying they were going and tell the Pharaoh. The Aruba Coast Guard gave chase but were unable to apprehend what they described as “the felonious black guys.” The coast guard would have caught the “felonious black guys”, but they forgot to untie the mooring rope from the dock before pursuing the “felonious black guys.”

It is reported that Eugene was secretly recorded and videoed confessing to the murders and describing in detail how he carefully planned and executed the murders. However, when presented with the evidence, he said he was only lying. The judge in the case said he believed that Eugene was only lying, that he had known Eugene his entire life, and he always lied. He described Eugene as a liar. He is convinced that Jimmie Car, O.J. Sim, Al Sharp, and Jessie Jack committed the heinous murders, because Eugene said so.

      Patti,

The young man killed in Iraq was brought into a near-by airport. The funeral home picked him up, for a 40-mile ride home. The 40 miles of road was lined on both sides by 8000 people (many small children) holding and waving American flags. They turned all the schools out.

Of course I think your post is just fabrication. I can’t imagine a young girl who would get a thrill out of being drugged, raped, tortured, humiliated, laughed at, mutilated, and thrown in the ocean or some trash dumpster.

My best advice for you if you are for real, is become an expert on concealing a firearm and knowing how and when to use it. Learn all about edged weapons, learn to make and deliver them with highly destructive and damaging force in a pinch. Otherwise, I don’t think we will have to worry about your annoying posts for long.

      Lisa, Observer, et. al :

We have all received several emails in response to one “proported” to have come from “Patrick”, decrying the notion that the Aruba BOYCOTT should be stopped, etc.

Examination of the “email transmission” gobbleygook in “his” email suggests that was NOT sent from the Patrick you think it is. To me, it’s just another trick to deflect focus away from the BOYCOTT, the upcoming trial, and AHATA just trying to foist more subterfuge on the unwary.

      Just so yah know.
