Once again there was a travel show, this time the St Louis Travel Show 
2008, in St Charles, MO. Once again Scared Monkeys was present protesting Aruba and providing a show of Unity for Justice … for Natalee Holloway and all US citizens missing/murdered in foreign countries.
Concerned individuals showed at the 2008 St. Louis Travel Show to provide a voice for Natalee Holloway and remind all travelers that Aruba has still done nothing to provide … Justice for Natalee. It would appear from reports that once again the Aruban booth was a ghost town and Aruba still has this issue with that America right called “free speech”.

American Woman Missing in Aruba
Natalee Holloway missing in Aruba since May 30, 2005.
She went on her Senior Class Trip to Aruba and never came home. Natalee could be YOU, your child, sister, niece, grandchild, cousin or best friend. Would you just forget about her if she was? Natalee left a local night club with a young man who claimed to be a student from Holland, staying at the Holiday Inn…the same hotel Natalee and her group were staying. She got into a car believing she was being taken back to her hotel…she has NOT BEEN SEEN since…
Her parents flew to Aruba and the one of the biggest injustices to an American citizen and family began. Her parents and their friends discovered, in a few short hours, who Natalee left with and the circumstances. They provided the local police with the information…information the police should have already had but didn’t..WHY? Because they had not taken any steps to find out!! It was just a missing girl…no big deal…right!
The past 2 years and 10 months have been filled with unbelievable highs and lows for the family of Natalee Holloway….her father spent 2 weeks digging in the local landfill looking for his daughter’s body. Her mother was followed and threatened in Aruba,

…even when the main suspect in her disappearance. Joran Van der Sloot, the son of a local member of the legal establishment and acting JUDGE, states in a taped conversation with his ‘best friend’ that Natalee convulsed on the beach and not knowing whether she was dead or ALIVE, arranged to have her body dumped in the sea…he was not arrested……! WHY? If he was innocent of any wrong doing towards Natalee…why not call 911? Why not get her HELP!! WHY??

And where is this suspect now? Is he in jail? NO!!! Not even his taped confession of being responsible for having her dumped in the sea, possibly ALIVE, was not enough for Aruba…..to arrest him. He walks free and Natalee Holloway is still missing.
Natalee is but one young woman…but she could be any young woman…someone YOU know….and love.

How about encouraging visitors to go to the Aruban booth and ask about Natalee’s disappearance and the subsequent investigation process (possible coverup)? Engaging Aruban representatives in a conversation about her might be revealing in terms of attitudes held by that country. Keeping Natalee’s name associated with Aruba is essential.

#24, I can’t understand why the Netherlands don’t demand action either. They certainly spent enough money during the search, they just don’t seem interested in promoting prosecution? I’ve always had the highest regard for the Dutch…and their immigrants contributed positively to America’s melting pot. (In fact, two of my favorite former Presidents, Teddy and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, were of Dutch descent). It’s a mystery. Maybe Hans Mos is not going forward with the prosecution because he doesn’t want to send the perps up for 6 months, but wants to get all the goods on ‘em so they get 15 years? Hope so!

I would wait. A good investor knows to buy low and sell high. However, even if you buy low, you may not have any real increase of value in your lifetime. Unless Aruba does the right thing and stop the cover up and proceed with the prosecution of Joran and his daddy and return Natalee to her family.
Aruba will need to do some BIG TIME reconciliation in order to restore its value to tourists.

Thanks for the replies guys.We will be going down to AUA next month and are looking to buy a personal home.Not a condo or a time share.We should be able to get a place in the 150 range.Hopefully when the dust settles, we could make a pretty penny in 5 years.Although a corrupt place, it is a beautiful island and with retirees(dutch and american) moving to the caribbean, I believe Aruba offers a mostly safe place at reasonable rates.Sabaneta or Sabana Liber near Noord is where we want a place as Palm Beach is still too pricey.As far as Chavez goes, I dont think he has the cojones…hes been there 10 years and I doubt hell start invading anyone now!Thanks for the help!

Now the teachers in Aruba associated with the Simar union have walked out. Students were released an hour earlier on Friday. The unions don’t care about Oduber’s explanation that the government does not have the money.
The Arubans know their government is corrupt…they have seen how the money has been thrown away just through the Natalee Holloway case. And they are fully aware of the cover-up.
I think we might see a big uprising from the people of Aruba towards their government.

I got an email from American Airlines advertising airfare from Denver to Aruba for $99 each way – down from a previous quote of $699. They are getting desperate to fill those airplanes. You can’t even fly to Dallas from Denver for $99.

Then the TV broadcasts and programming in January – February of Joran’s confession. That coupled with 100% effective Travel Show Protests….and you have little to non-existant tourism for Aruba.
Airlines are flying empty planes, hotels are less than 70% full to achieve bottom line profits, food is rotting in empty restaurants, and gold washed jewelry and colored glass gem stones are tarnishing…..just like Aruba’s reputation.

Jossy Mansur replied to my first e-mail on the day it was sent, saying it was a great idea and that he would get into action right away.
If anyone on Aruba has contributed, I don’t know about it. I don’t believe anything I hear from Aruba, and I don’t believe that suddenly the people of Aruba are outraged. If they are, then let them do something practical to show it.

There are plots available at a residential complex in Petronia Street, Oranjestad. It must be a good investment, since as far as I know, none of the upscale occupants have ever moved again. It was opened in the 60′s, but it is very well kept.

Great idea..go for it..you’ll probably be able to get a terrific subprime mortgage …they’ll be so happy to have you. Be sure to have a good home inspection done, particularly have them dig up the concrete to check for bodies. If you have a well on the property, be sure to have that checked as well. Paulus can give you some excellent referals for furniture companies, especially matresses. If you have kids..why not try the International school…they might be lucky enough to end up in Anita’s class…the curriculum should be very enlightening. Be sure you are a good swimmer before you go out on Croes boat…and don’t forget the mosquito spray…GOOD LUCK..send us a postcard from time to time!
Why would anyone want to come here and tell us that they are going to buy a house in Aruba…how stupid. If that’s what you want to do than do it. You know the risks upfront, if that is how you choose to live then go….be sure you’ve got at least six mirrors on your car so you can try and avoid all the drug, illegal drivers, maybe sure there are bars on your windows and an abundance of locks because of all the theft, watch out walking on the streets you might get shot by a gang member, expect to be approached by the drug dealers when in public, wear a mosquito net and bug spray, also use a gas mask if you going anyway around the open landfill that’s breeding disease, do not invite your family to visit if they have children, especially if they are young women…go ahead and go to the place of your dreams, but those dreams will turn into nightmares. And don’t expect to see any American’s….
Pretty sure I read on arubanboycott.blogspot a month or more ago about the International School having trouble getting kids up to par to attend college abroad and they were tightening up the curriculum…and that Anita would not be back in the fall. I also contact the Holiday Inn/InterContinental corporate offices in Atlanta and the General Manager of Holiday Inn Sunspree. I suggested that they should contribute to the Persistence if for no other reason, than because Urine was in their casino illegally when he made contact with Natalee. I reminded them that employees at Sunspree were aware of Urine by name and reputation, yet they till allowed him into their casino (illegally) where he stalked unsuspecting American tourists. I have never had a response from Holiday Inn which now means that I will not be spending any of my money in a Holiday Inn anywhere.

A little more good news on the Aruba front. A co-worker booked a trip there last August, and the deal was to include a non-stop flight to and from. She was shocked to find out that all changed just the other day, without explanation – now she has layovers to and from that OneCrappyIsland. She was livid, and said that if this stuff continues, she’ll go elsewhere on future vacations. She has been going there annually for years.
She’s a decent person, but has basicly rationalized what happened to Natalee (she has never had children, so she’ll never quite understand). Last time in Aruba, her husband asked a cab driver about the case, and caught an earful from the guy.

#117 misskatie…….i can only speak for myself, they are great books. i cried right along with beth.my heart broke. i honestly felt her pain and frustration. i have two daughters of my own so it really affected me. after reading both books, i could only imagine what those parents went through from the first phone call to getting the runaround and all the bulls–t from every person in charge; anyone on that rotten island who COULD do something to find natalee did absolutely NOTHING to find natalee. the sheer hell that this family has gone through at the hands of the aruban government and the van der sloot family for the past 3 years is unexcusable……BUT the only morsel of consolation will be the day that the ALE and van der sloots stand before God to answer the charges placed before them. they will not be able to lie and cover up. I’m following this case from day 1.
Right away, I had a bad feeling, when I heard in the News “the son of a judge in Aruba”.
I lived over 5 years in South America and I experienced corruption myself.
