RSSTeen Thug Arrested in Sick & Bizarre Missing Dog Case (What Happened to Edna?) … “I want to kill your dog anyway.”
What makes our teens do the things they do? What would make a teenager 
abduct a harmless pet, attempt to ransom and extort its owner and then seemingly want and find pleasure in killing a helpless animal? Then harass the pet owner and find pleasure in letting him know that they will kill his dog?
That is what occurred to 51 year old Bill Whiting when his beloved beagle-mix dog, Edna, was taken. Edna went missing on Halloween. What happened next was beyond twisted and bizarre. Luckily, the 15 year old thug, pathetic excuse for a human being has been arrested and charged with harassment, terroristic threats, theft by extortion and other counts.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A telephone call at midnight normally would have awoken Bill Whiting, but he hadn’t been sleeping much since his dog disappeared. He picked up the phone and couldn’t believe what he heard.
Children were demanding $600 or else they would kill Edna, his beloved beagle mix. Whiting listened in horror to what sounded like the jingle of Edna’s collar, and an animal yelping in pain. He agreed to pay the ransom.
“You don’t understand, mister,” a boy replied. “I want to kill your dog anyway.”
What happened to Edna remains a mystery, but Philadelphia police have charged a 15-year-old with harassment, terroristic threats, theft by extortion and other counts for allegedly calling Whiting. Police have yet to find the dog.

Power. Control. Feeling you have the power of life and death over someone smaller and weaker. You can hurt people, animals. You can cause suffering. You’re like God. It’s sick, but there are a lot of people who do sick things like this. Guys like this kid and Joran van der Sloot aren’t recognized as being sick until they get caught on the wrong side of the law. Even then, as we’ve seen with Joran, their twisted mind-set is rationalized rather than seen as a serious mental problem. Most who engage in this kind of behavior don’t actually kill a person or animal. Think about cyber-bullying and other hurtful behaviors where the “bully” enjoys causing suffering. It’s common. Look around.
Isn’t this unbelievable? That these teens would do something so terrible to this man and his dog? This is truely a sick and sinister group. We are likely only seeing the tip of the iceberg in what their futures might potentially hold. Don’t want to dramitize but the truth is Dahmer had similar sinister beginings.
They call human beings the “higher species”; at least they used to ….
No other animal would be capable of such an atrocity.
Yep, animal cruelty is just a stepping stone to more heinous crimes. Somebody better keep an eye on this sick kid.
These sick savages should be put away and kept away (preferably in cage accompanied by a couple of lions they cannot hope to successfully fight -then these punks will get to see what worthless cowards they really are…)
It is frightening the depravity and sickness some people possess. And, it always seems like kind, gentle people and animals, like Bill and Edna are the ones who suffer at the hands of those sick, worthless individuals.
