The stepfather, David Spears, has pronounced his innocence from the outset of this case. However, why is it that his story was so weak and unbelievable? Police have now made an arrest of a 24 year old in this case. How old is David Spears?
Two men have been arrested; however, no names released yet.
Two men have been arrested in the death of 9 year old Rowan Ford. Rowan Ford was reported missing after her mother, Colleen Spears, returned home early Nov. 3 from a night shift at a Wal-Mart. Her body was found on private land about 10 miles south of the girl’s hometown of Stella. Authorities have determined Rowan’s death to be a homicide; however, they have not provided a cause of death yet. Authorities believe that Rowan Ford was killed in Barry County.
Two men have been arrested in the death of a 9-year-old girl whose body was found Friday in a hillside cave in southwest Missouri, authorities said. Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland identified one as a 24-year-old male and the other as a man of about the same age. (YAHOO News)

The girl’s stepfather, David Spears, told investigators he and two male
friends were with Rowan the night before until they went out around 10:45 p.m. He returned home around midnight but did not check on the girl, Copeland said.
David Spears also later told authorities that he called his mother sometime after 1 a.m. and asked to use her vehicle, Copeland has said. She took it to him about half an hour later, then stayed at his house while her son left in her vehicle for about 5 1/2 hours, Copeland has said.
Copeland also has said that Spears has not been able to explain what he did during that time. He has not been accused of a crime.

UPDATE I: Police Arrest Stepfather for Alleged Murder of Rowan Ford
As predictable as a moth to the flame, the stepfather of 9 year old murdered Rowan Ford was one of the two unnamed men last night to be arrested in her death. Police had questioned throughout the investigation the issue that Spears story and accounts did not add up.
Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland confirmed late Friday night that David Spears, 24, was arrested in the death of Rowan Ford.
“The stepfather was a possible suspect,” Copeland told The Associated Press. “I will confirm that he has been arrested, as well as one of his friends.”

This may sound harsh to some but in my opinion if DNA proves that those 2 did indeed rape and murder this child then they should be hung within 24 hours.
Sad part is some idiot somewhere will be campaigning in 20 years to spare their worthless lives. They never think about the victims. Ever go to one of those anti death penalty sites….they never care about the victims and their families.

Didn’t this guys mother wonder where the girl was, when she came over to lend her car? It says she stayed 5 hours. She surely knew the mother was at work. How can she defend him? Just when you think the world cannot be more cruel, this happens to yet another innocent child.
