Fires Rage out of Control in Southern California … State of Emergency and Evacuations

As fires rage out of control in Southern California, Governor Arnold CA_FiresSchwarzenegger declares a State of Emergency in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. More than 30,000 acres have already been affected by the raging wild fires.  Mandatory evacuations were ordered for the community of Ramona Sunday night as an out-of-control wildfire burned more than 8,000 acres.

From the high desert to the Pacific Ocean, out-of-control wildfires engulfed swaths of drought-parched Southern California, claiming one life, destroying several homes and a church in Malibu, and forcing an entire community to evacuate.

Thousands more homes remained at risk as hot, dry Santa Ana desert winds continued to churn into the region early Monday

This is devastating. Let’s hope they get them contained soon for all those residents.

Went to see Tanya Tucker in concert last year, and this summer she sold her home in Nashville to an Ohio developer, who is turning it into a golfing subdivision and she relocated to Malibu, so her kids could take acting lessons. They had to evacuate their home this weekend due to the fires. Doesn’t matter how rich you are, losing all your “memories” is very hard and for the family who has lost a loved one, very sad indeed.
