Black Comedian Eddie Griffin Gets Hook On Stage Over Use of N-Word

Call it another Kramer moment. We are glad to see that both black and white alike, comedians that think that its some how funny to use the “N” word are booted from the stage. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Thus was the case with “Undercover Brother” Eddie Griffin, who was cut off while performing at an event in Florida for the use of the “N” word.. The idea that some think its OK to use, while others should be condemned is ridiculous. Its about time that the “N” word was acted upon no matter who says it without bias or prejudice.

Griffin, who has appeared in movies such as “Undercover Brother” and “Date Movie” and the TV show “Malcolm & Eddie,” was performing at a Black Enterprise magazine event in the Miami suburb of Doral on Friday when he was cut off after using profanities and the N-word, said Andrew Wadium, a spokesman for the publication.

“We believe that ending the performance was the appropriate action,” Wadium said.

Yeh we’ve been talking about this over at Highbrid Nation. One thing that is for sure is that Eddie was not keeping in mind his audience when he started and the Black Enterprise people were not considering the material of Eddie when they booked him. Before it becomes a matter of if the N word is ok or not its a matter of thinking about the people you are gonna be dealing with.

The banning or burial of the ‘N’ word shows how low the American mentality has sunk. It is only a word and those offended by it’s use are those that it most likely accurately describes. The PC a**holes can kill my a**.

Why don’t you tell us what the “n” word describes? Your answer will probably be the reason it should be buried.
      Go for it dumb a**.

#3 It’s only a word???? Banning the word would show how low your mentality has sunk?????

      ACTUALLY:

Using the word would show how your mentality is non existing

the N word is mostly used as a shock effect to deliberately cause offense and most of all DEGRADE in a sense without being physical…Verbal degrading is always more affective….anyone that uses the word is a week minded individual (yes that is my humble opinion)

It’s ok to be funny and all, but if you can’t be funny without using certain words or whatever….you’re not funny.

the word has wandered all over the world and every single individual (uhuh like #3) feels it is ok to use it…and most use it in a derogatory way. Anger does it….hate does it….and seeking recognition does it (comedians cause they think it is funny)

      I myself hate hearing it!

Unfortunately it is a very wide spread term.

Look here..only brothers can say the N word, and we should not even pass our white guilty moral on the black community., if you re white or get offended, then you should be ashamed of every forefather of yours who took these African into bondage.

I know it’s probably not cool to post urls here but I really think this link ties in nicely to this discussion. I shot it most of it last week right before Eddie worked his comedy magic Miami.

What about all the africans that sold the africans into bondage?

My forefathers didn’t live in this country during slavery.

Equality is right! Saw Damon Wyons in concert, and he used the N-word so much my family and I left. I am a travel ICU RN with a multi-cultural family. I try to be politically correct, non-judgemental. I refuse to listen to anyone use that racially-offensive word (or anything else like that). If I was African-American, I would be extremely upset that after great men like Martin Luther King Jr. died for equal rights there are shameless comedians using that horrible word. My Luxembourgeous grandparents fled Nazi-Germany in the 1940s and I would never call anyone a “Nazi”. Move on! It’s 2009 and we have a modern, progressive, multi-racial President!! Yes We Can!!!!!
