1-800-FLOWERS.com Lawsuit, Sent Wife Thank You Card For Flowers to Mistress

Roses are red, violets are blue … Leroy Greer, this little thank you note is going to cost Rosesyou.

WOOPS … Lawsuit started when 1–800–FLOWERS.com sent a thank you note to the home of the wrong woman. Leroy Greer ordered a dozen red roses and a Teddy bear through 1–800–FLOWERS.com. His wife then received the thank you card to his home. There was just one problem. Leroy Greer never sent the roses to his wife, he sent them to another woman. OUCH!

A Missouri City, Texas, man has filed a federal lawsuit against 1-800-FLOWERS, Inc. after they sent his wife a thank-you card for flowers he ordered for another woman.

MyFOXHouston.com reported Leroy Greer ordered a dozen red roses and teddy bear through 1-800-flowers.com for a woman while he was in the middle of divorcing his wife. However, at the time the flowers were sent, Greer and his wife were reconciled.

Always be careful of the dreaded thank you card.

After Greer ordered the flowers in April, 1-800-flowers reportedly sent a thank-you card to his home, which his wife saw. She then called the company, and they faxed her a copy of the receipt, the note he sent with the flowers that read “just wanted to say that ‘I Love you’” and a report of what he actually purchased. Can you say there is no amount of flowers that will get him out of this mess. Only a divorce settlement.

Anyone think its collusion and an attempt to dip into the deep-pockets of the florist’s insurance company?

    4. Rammstein on August 12th, 2007 8:53 am

and he would sue why? because he was a cheater?

He deserves no penny, he should be fined by the court for wasting it’s time IMHO

Damn, men put the men in MENTAL, don’t they?” Thank God we put the men in men-o- pause!!!!

    6. Fools Gold on August 12th, 2007 11:58 am

The crux of his action is not that he was or was not a philanderer but that his divorce settlement was proceeding in an amicable manner and would have been less costly to him but for the improper disclosure of his affair to his previously ignorant spouse.

Duty, Breach, Damages… doesn’t depend on his faithfulness to his wife.

    7. Allan K on August 12th, 2007 5:22 pm

Sure took him a long time to get over his wife.

      Had girlfriend while reconciled.

He has the morals of an alley cat and now wants the insurance to pay for a mistake he should have never started.
      Leroy is a loser.

    8. olliegizmo on August 12th, 2007 9:33 pm

Well Leroy, sometimes you just get what you deserve. Hope the law suit gets thrown out of court.

    9. Maria on August 13th, 2007 2:27 am

I used to work for a company similar to 1 800 Flowers. This sort of crap happened all the time where men would order a mixed arrangement for the wife, a dozen roses for the mistress, and then trying to hit on the operator at the same time. Bunch of dogs! I’d say ole Leroy definitely got what he deserved. If anything his wife should be suing…for DIVORCE!!!

It just goes to show that IF YOU PLAY, YOU PAY!

    11. Freebrid on August 13th, 2007 9:41 am

Once a dog always a dog! I hope the flower company sues him for wasting their time. Next time maybe you should try just buying some flowers and deliver them yourself dumass. And try sending some to your wife, but at this point I think your dancing in hot water!!

    12. frannces bryan on August 13th, 2007 12:17 pm

what about the person who sued MCdonalds because they spilled hot coffee on themselves. they won a million dollars.
at least this guy getting a divorce.
      he has a lawsuit.

    13. ryan on August 13th, 2007 12:44 pm

now now 800 flower messed up they should know better then to give out that info on orders

    14. the mama on August 13th, 2007 4:00 pm

Any damages he may suffer are a result of his own actions, not those of the flower company. What an idiot!!!

    15. Skyboxx on August 14th, 2007 5:11 am

Its a sign of our times. Lawsuits to the left, lawsuits to the right. I spill hot coffee in my lap, file a lawsuit. My suit pants don’t come back, file a law suit, thank you note to my wife for flowers sent to my girlfriend, file a lawsuit.

And people want to vote for John Edwards? (King of file a lawsuit)

The lawsuit is rubbish. We are entitled to LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, somehow we feel we can “sue” everyone for our unhappiness…..

…tsk, tsk….next thing you know people will be filing lawsuits because they don’t get enough sleep at night…….ha, ha

The soon to be x husband is a filthy piece of dirt. Ever wonder why women HATE men so much? Here’s a good reason. they only love themselves and are nothing more than rabid dogs humping whatever they can to feel like a “man”. OHHHH yeah…just what every looser-woman wants…a breeding dog, right? Sadly I would say 80% of the men in this world are little babies wanting mamas titty…or beastly pigs like our buddy who is suing. No morality, no conscience, nothing good in there…want to be the god of their own little pathetic world of sex and what a man I am in my own eyes. Men suck. Really.

I still think Mrs. Bobbitt had the right (BEST) idea, but unfortunately there are laws against it…

Yeah..been married 25 yrs to one that isn’t too bad, but to do it over again if anything happened to him, I will NOT waste my life on the type of men I see available. NO WAY! I would not lower myself to such since I am never going to be that desparate.

      Brenda,

Don’t hold back, tell us how your really feel.

      Brenda

Trust me. The men in your community are grateful you hold that position. Not a single male would wish to have such a hate filled, vile individual as a wife. I imagine your dear hubby dreams of the day when the hatred is gone.

In the meantime, re-read your post. Carefully. Your very own words contain the reason that your kitchen cutlery is somehow ‘always missing’.

    19. Brenda on August 15th, 2007 12:04 pm

Funny you think I hate my husband…and when was the last time you were in my community? You are simply showing you judgemental stupidity to all. I am only stating what I SEE every day.

Take our Richard…he seems VERY thoughtful and I bet a great guy. Same with Minn. Dad. Plus I do know a few great male friends since my husband is NOT jealous not am I. Most are unmarried and treat me just fine. Those who are married are not cheater and their wives are GReAT friends too!!

I love my husband and he loves me unless he lied this morning.

I spend alot of time in hunting camp. One year it was me, my husband, and 9 other guys. We had a BLAST>>> When WAS the last time you asked the opinion of the guys at hunting camp, or my husband’s employees (who I made packed lunch for today by the way)?

You show yourself as being nothing but a judgemental idiot yourself. Your opinion is worthless.

No, I do not hate…get angry? Oh yeah…but not hate. I will kill ANY coyote I see, but do I hate them? No way!!

AS for the knives, you certainly are a miserable horror of a soul yourself to think I’d do that to a faithful husband. You are just so stupid I don’t know what else to say???

As for my husband wanting me gone? When was the last time you spoke to him? Sure we argue, what married couple never does? We fight over stuff like who carries which gun when we go hunting together (and have BOTH survived it)…or whether or not I can take the ATV when he says it needs service (oh bother the service light I say!!).

He and I have like interests AND different interests too, but are VERY independent and LIKE it that way. He says he feels the same way about the women today. MOst ain’t worth the paint they cover their zits with and b1tchy (like you).

By the way…it takes one to know one, so that puts you in my category.

      Brenda

      P. S. I don’t carry a knive..I carry a gun and a hatched because I can throw the hell out of one and stick it every time…

      Hi Skyboxx,

I cannot believe it, but you said the same thing I hear at work daily!! I am on an IT team with 27 others…I am the only girl…so yes, I have a clue what men are like. A dispatcher before that…and worked in a foundry (talk about tough guys) prior to even that. I have ALWAYS preferred working with men, and my husband perfers it too because (in his words) I don’t complain as much. :>)

Let’s just say I’ve been hit on enough times in life to KNOW how married and single men are. Apparently, our friend Imogene is VERY ugly because she doesn’t understand this :>) :>)

This guy should have took his medicine quietly. He was trying to fake out his wife while he had some booty on the side and it didnt work out. WOW. Pity. I used to date someone like this who kept his ex stringing along to avoid her coming after him for child suppport. Its a sad pathetic way to live and I’m glad I got out when I could. I hope they throw him out of the courtroom on his butt.

      Hi Brenda,
Your post was very amusing and I must say that I agree with you. Yes, he may have a case because of the breach of contract; however, I do not think that he will get much. Hopefully, his wife files a lawsuit against him for mental anguish. He’s just upset because he can’t have his cake and eat it too. It’s just like the saying, “what’s done in the dark always comes to light.” I never understood why people stay in a marriage when they’re not happy — I know I wouldn’t. This is a reason why some avoid marriage.

    23. Brenda on August 16th, 2007 5:20 pm

      Thx LaShawn,

I agree that a bad marriage is a terrible thing. Mine isn’t perfect, but we’ve known each other since middle school and basically grew up together (both 43 now..married at 19). Our arguements are normally silly in comparison to what many couples endure. At least I have no worry of other women and he of other men. Why bother? Everyone has their problems, you know?

The reason I think most men are sort of dog-like is the number of married men who’ve hit on me. Single ones too who know I’m married. Sad world, you know?

Difference is some of us believe we have to account for our lives, I don’t want to have to answer to the Good Lord for that. I have enough I’m worried about without adding more, you know? :>)

    24. Lashawn on August 17th, 2007 9:53 am

      Brenda,

When I think that I never want to be married, I look at the couples who have made it through the tough times and are sincerely working to make their marriages work (without entertaining outside interferences). I am aware that people are not perfect, but it seems like some people like to use this fact as a reason to continue doing their dirt. I commend those couples who are loyal and true to one another.
