Christopher Vaughn Arrested in the Murders of his Family, Wife Kimberly and their 3 Children

As funerals are being held for the Vaughn family who were murdered last week, the wife and three children were found dead in a sport-utility vehicle in the far southwest suburbs, 32 year old Christopher Vaughn is arrested. Who would ever have thought from these pictures that we would be discussing a quadruple murder allegedly done by the father?

The bodies of Vaughn’s wife, Kimberly, 34, and their three children – Abigayle, 12; Cassandra, 11; and Blake, 8 – were found on June 14 in a sport-utility vehicle parked on a service road near a cell phone tower in far southwest suburban Channahon Township. Kimberly Vaughn had suffered one gunshot wound and the children had all suffered multiple gunshots.Vaughn_family

Vaughn himself was found with a gunshot to the knee. Police interviewed him for several hours after the shooting, but he was later released. (CBS2–Chicago)

Father Arrested In Vaughn Murder Case

Christopher Vaughn was taken into custody Saturday morning by St. Charles County Police. Police are investigating his possible involvement in the shooting deaths of his wife and three children.

Even though Christopher Vaughn was not considered a suspect, for what that is worth, many questioned the story and the nature of the murder. As some experts stated, “it just didn’t fit the profile”.

These inconsistencies led Meyer to express her doubts — she said that the story does not fit “99 percent of the cases I’ve seen.”

I’ve seen thousands of these,” she said. “Once you start reading, they start quickly looking alike. I can tell within three sentences which category they fit into. This just doesn’t fit anything.”

Friends say couple a study in contrasts

Kimberly and Christopher Vaughn made an odd couple. She was an ebullient social butterfly with a million-dollar smile. He was taciturn, withdrawn and occasionally given to angry confrontations.

UPDATE I: Illinois authorities Plan on Extraditing Christopher Vaughn to face charges

Illinois authorities plan on extraditing Christopher Vaughn from Missouri back to Illinois to face murder charges in the death of his wife and three children.

However, attorneys for Christopher Vaughn state that he will fight extradition.

This guy changed his story a few times to the cops, then, he couldn’t remember anything. If he did it, which seems likely, FRY HIM,,, oh we can’t anymore, the ex-governor of Illinois and now prison resident, said that capital punishment isn’t right…..but Lyin Ryan stole from the taxpayers of his state and that’s ok. BTW a judge in IL denied Georgie his pension.

This Vaughn creep, how could he kill his beautiful family?
Well if he goes to prison, maybe an inmate will show him a few things.

Ok…guy is wearing dark sunglasses…doesn’t like anyone looking at his eyes. Says enough. Isn’t smiling, says something too. Not the perfect family picture in my opinion, but it’s only my opinion..

Anyway, soon as I heard the father was only wounded I knew it was him. The shooter would have made sure to finish off the FATHER (especially a rather large one) first. “scary” and “dangerous” women and kids are shot 2nd.

America is destroying itself from within. Sad. Maybe we can try actually having people simply account for their behavior and stop making excuses for it. Oh yes…a disease, a disorder, a mango-tango-what the hell ever! How about just an idiot who is selfish and unfeeling? Think we can “resurrect” anything from that soul?

No, put him in a crate with Bobby Cutts and toss them into an active volcanoe.

That young wife and those three children look like the most attractive, wonderful family any man could have.

Some people would kill (metaphorically) to have them.

Apparently he killed (really) not to have them.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls ….

By the way, I’ve always taken offense when a murder victim is described as beautiful, attractive, etc. That sounds like people who aren’t Hollywood types don’t matter.

But it’s only a fair comment to note that the victims here fit the description. It doesn’t much matter, in a way, what is done with the rabid animal; that won’t give back to us what we’ve lost.

Guy had a nice looking family, and you ask yourself Why?

I hear you Richard. I was thinking the same thing on the Jessie thread. A person’s appearance doesn’t have anything to do with anything. These were valuable human beings (because every human being is valuable) and they are now dead. The world and their family have been deprived of them because some selfish animal decided not to value their life.

Can someone explain to me why he’s been charged with 8 counts of first degree murder when there were 4 murdered? Where did the other 4 counts come from?

I just read this. This is something I’ve never heard of!

Prosecutor James Glasgow, who declined to discuss possible motives, said Vaughn was charged with two murder counts per victim. One set of counts alleges he shot with intent to kill and the other alleges he shot knowing that it was likely to cause death or great bodily harm.

Question for everyone: in a case such as this, which punishment is preferable? The death sentence, or life in prison with no possibility of parole NO MATTER WHAT?

Reason I ask: Which sentence inflicts more pain? That is the one that is deserved.

What amazes me these days it the fact these murders believe they will get away with their crimes. I mean, how far up their butts must their heads be? With GPS and all of the video cameras in place today, how far do they think they’ll get?

The police do not loose. They do not always win…but they do not LOOSE. Plus, they have many of us on their side who want to help.

Cassandra Vaughn was one of my best friends and I miss her dearly.
