Children Bad For the Environment

Scared_childThere is one great thing about liberal advocacy, whatever the cause that is gathering the media’s attention, those with off the wall ideas tend to leech onto it.

A London professor of family planning says that having children is now a danger to the environment. You got that right at home folks, children are the root problem to the enviromental ills. Not that England is even close to replacing it’s population anyway, the birthrate is 1.7 in Britain.

First the mantra was “for the children”   to get the cause de jour to the media’s attention and through the political process. But now these same children are the problem, so now we have to get rid of the children for the sake of the environment. What next, a green abortion clinic to solve the problem of environmentally incorrect children?

God help us all.

John Guillebaud, co-chairman of OPT and emeritus professor of family planning at University College London, said: “The effect on the planet of having one child less is an order of magnitude greater than all these other things we might do, such as switching off lights. “The greatest thing anyone in Britain could do to help the future of the planet would be to have one less child.”

In his latest comments, the academic says that when couples are planning a family they should be encouraged to think about the environmental consequences. “The decision to have children should be seen as a very big one and one that should take the environment into account,” he added.   via  NEWS.com.au.

We can only hope they start taking their own advice by not repopulating between themselves and breeding more just like them(PLEASE!!)

A spokesperson for illegal immigrants said that the USA need immigrants to repopulate this country. I think we need fewer people in this country and many other places on the planet. The place is only so big and mowing down more trees, paving over more prairies is certainly not helping.

LilPuma, I agree. The more people on this earth, the more resources that are taken from it.

Well Justinsmama and Lilpuma…you are more than welcome to start out by helping the environment now if you’d like, just be sure you start with yourselves.

Apparently you’ve never flown in an airplane. Ever. There are millions upon millions of acres of undeveloped land. Just that most idiots cram themselves into one city and then “wonder” what is happening to the environment in their little postage-stamp sized life.

If you lived where I did, you’d see this “overpopulation garbage” is no more brilliant than “global warming” which has been occurring on this planet for centuries. By the way, I read on CNN that Mars is warming up (not a joke, go look). Since it seems the population needs help there, how bout you 2 go there?

Brenda: Why are you so angry that we disagree? Do you have lots of kids? I have flown in an airplane. At least a couple of times. :-) The world is still overpopulated and our resources are dwindling while the pollution of the planet escalates. Whether or not that is causing global warming, I don’t know. But the air and water pollution is real and measurable. Do we need to put houses and strip malls everywhere, so few open spaces can be seen from a plane, before we do something about it? Planet earth does have limited resources and we’re paving over and polluting what we have. I’m not moving to Mars, but I don’t have lots of kids, I do recyle and buy recycled products, I don’t drive a gas guzzler. There’s more, but it gets boring.

Not angry in any way, shape or form. Just amazed how you can decide my thoughts/feelings when you have never met or have a single clue whatsoever about who I am.

No, our resources are fine…perfectly fine. If the liberals had allowed drilling and more refineries, we would not be in this situation while we work for BETTER and more efficient fuels. If it weren’t so hard for farmer’s to make ends meet, they would not be folding.

Sorry, no overpopulation. In high school in Tampa in the 1970′s, we did this study and PROVED that the entire world’s (I SAID WORLD’S!!!) population could stand in the state of Florida alone with room to spare if each person was given a square foot to stand in. (It is a fact, I remember it from science class…and with the 1/2 billion or more people here now, maybe it would also take part of Georgia.)

Yup…planet warming up and cooling off as it has for ions and ions. Too bad the many, many scientists who KNOW the sun causes these changes and not the people are always ignored. The only overpopulation problems are in specific areas. It’s a fact and that is that.

I have 2 kids and am a landowner (with my husband) who works with Jefferson National Forrest to manage our nearly 300 acres that boarder it. We CONSERVE rather than strip log as other do. I happen to burn my trash because there IS NO trash pickup where my property lies. Isn’t available as WE HAVE SUCH AS SMALL POPULATION OF PEOPLE WHERE I LIVE.

God have mercy folks, get a freaking clue in life?!

Area covered does not equate resources used. And yes, Brenda, something is awry with any individual who demeans others for simply having a difference of opinion.

LILPUMA HAVE YOU EVER VISITED THE WEBSITE CALLED Myth of Overpopulation. Did you know we could fit 6 billion people in the State of Texas? Also I THINK YOU LIBERALS NEED TO EXTINCT YOURSELF, YOU KNOW WHY THE COUNTRY IS SWIFTED TO THE RIGHT AND THE FUTURE TO COME? GIVE UP CONSERVATIVES HAVE MORE CHILDREN! YEAH WE MIGHT OUTNUMBER 2 TO 1. ALSO CONSIDER THIS 80% OF CHILDREN VOTE LIKE THEIR PARENTS! GIVE IT UP FOR GLOBAL WARMING
