THE PRESIDENT: Our nation is shocked and saddened by the news of the shootings at Virginia Tech today. The exact total has not yet been confirmed, but it appears that more than 30 people were killed and many more were wounded.
I’ve spoken with Governor Tim Kaine and Virginia Tech President Charles Steger. I told them that Laura and I and many across our nation are praying for the victims and their families and all the members of the university community who have been devastated by this terrible tragedy. I told them that my administration would do everything possible to assist with the investigation, and that I pledged that we would stand ready to help local law enforcement and the local community in any way we can during this time of sorrow.
Schools should be places of safety and sanctuary and learning. When that sanctuary is violated, the impact is felt in every American classroom and every American community.

Aruba: Blue Skies, White Sandy Beaches and Human Traffickers … Oh My
More news from “One Happy & Safe” island, this time human traffickers are sentenced. For the OM to believe that this was a result of a human trafficking network the sentences seem to be rather light. If one really believes that human trafficking is a serious crime would not the penalties be more severe?
The human trafficking problem seems to a real issue; however, do not remember hearing the ATA mentioning this at the travel trade shows.
Amigoe, April 16, 2007: OM surmises network of human traffickers
Two human traffickers, Hector Ramon Rojas Acosta and Henry Gonzales Henao are taken back to prison after they had heard their sentence.
ORANJESTAD – A captain and a sailor, who had transported 18 persons from Venezuela early January, were sentenced to 16 and 20 months imprisonment, for being involved in human trafficking.

Daily Commentary – Monday April 16th, 2007 – Michael Moore And Sicko
Dana discusses:

Standard Podcast [2:13m]: Download
John Kerry Thinking About Entering Presidential 2008 Race
To further prove the man is so far from reality, John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, is floating trial balloons about entering the Presidential 2008 race. Kerry was at a book signing in Denver, Colorado and told a crowd that he would not dismiss the possibility.
A message to John Kerry: While I am not a Hillary Clinton or Obama fan, you are a pale imitation of a candidate who rode in to the candidacy on the heals of Howard Dean’s meltdown. If you think that you can enter and compete in 2008, then you probably think you have been an effective Senator also.
But at least he is consistant, he has already flip flopped on the Presidential run this year.
The 2004 Democratic nominee told a crowd of more than 250 at the Tattered Cover bookstore in lower downtown Denver that he had no desire to endorse any candidate for the office right now, choosing to wait to see how they addressed the issue of global warming.
Kerry and his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, are finishing up a nationwide tour to promote their book, “This Moment on Earth,” which highlights successful efforts at the local level to better the environment.
Afterwards, while answering a question from a viewer on the program YOUR SHOW about why he chose not to run, Kerry said he had decided it wasn’t the right time.
“Could that change?” Kerry said. “It might. It may change over years. It may change over months. I can’t tell you, but I’ve said very clearly I don’t consider myself out of it forever.” via 9NEWS
Michael Moore’s “Sicko” Stunt … Who is the real Sicko?
Michael Moore’s latest stunt in his “hate America” agenda and his movie “Sicko” takes the prize. In an effort to show his contempt for America, the American medical and insurance industry as well as President George W. Bush, Moore was going to take ailing 911 Ground Zero workers to Communist Cuba for health care. How is it that some one has so much hate in their heart that they would exploit those that they claim to be exploited? Michael Moore is nothing more than a profiteer and worse than those that he claims to rail against.
Filmmaker Michael Moore’s production company took ailing Ground Zero responders to Cuba in a stunt aimed at showing that the U.S. health-care system is inferior to Fidel Castro’s socialized medicine, according to several sources with knowledge of the trip.
The trip was to be filmed as part of the controversial director’s latest documentary, “Sicko,” an attack on American drug companies and HMOs that Moore hopes to debut at the Cannes Film Festival next month. (NY Post)
One really has to wonder about an individual who would use others and exploit their situation for their own personal financial and political gain. WHO IS THE REAL SICKO?
