From yesterday’s Amigoe…please note the prediction I’ve marked with asterisks (***) in regards to Natalee’s remains being found!! Although this should come as no big surprise to any of us who have followed this case so closely…

Again a search at the home of the Van der Sloot family

About 20 forensic experts from the Netherlands searched the family home of Joran van der Sloot yesterday. This is the second time that this is done in connection with the disappearance case of Natalee Holloway.

ORANJESTAD – About 20 forensic-technical experts from the Netherlands have been busy searching the house of the family Van der Sloot since yesterday. The investigation on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway since May 30th 2005 received a new impulse since April 16th, said the Public Prosecutor (OM). The Corps national police service (KLPD) in the Netherlands has investigated the file again and came up with more findings.

***A highly placed government official told Amigoe last week that the team expects to find Holloway’s remains soon in Aruba , But official channels do not confirm this.*** The tracks-investigation at the family home of Joran van der Sloot, who is still the main suspects in this case, will possibly take a few days. Experts of among others the Dutch Forensic Institute are combing out the house and the grounds around it and dogs have been put in. The OM does not want to tell what the reason is for this investigation and what they are looking for. The local authorities, the FBI, and officials of the Dutch Forensic Institute have already searched this house at numerous occasions before, and have confiscated several items and also 2 cars belonging to family Van der Sloot.

The OM says that the Aruban and Dutch detectives that are currently working on the case have indications that ‘justify a further criminal investigation. That’s all they wanted to say. Justice emphasized though that this house search has nothing to do with the book of Joran van der Sloot that was published in the Netherlands last Wednesday. “This search action was already planned as part of the investigation on the missing Natalee Holloway that is still going”, stated a press release of the OM.

Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP) asked the KLPD for assistance in the case last year. A team of Dutch detectives investigated the file and came out with a report and recommendations. The KLPD gave the report to the Attorney General at the end of last month and the investigation is being continued based on this. This one is being led by the Aruban public prosecutor Elivia Lugo.

Any word on TES going to Aruba yet?

SM:   Red reported yesterday that Tim would be going back to Aruba in a couple of days.   No further information as to what or why Tim is going at this time.   (klaasend)

“Expect to find Holloway’s remains soon”; that’s actualy a very bold statement. I very much hope that the KLPD and the people from the Forensic Institute realy mean business and make their prediction come true (and keep searching untill they’ve made it indeed come true!!!).

Are their any pictures yet from the lighhouse- / dunes-search yet? I’m very curious about that.

SM:   Nothing new yet on the Lighthouse search (klaasend)

I have hope and faith that justice and Natalee will come soon.

    5. Susan on April 29th, 2007 3:56 pm

That statement gives me chills, but it would finally bring closure for Natalee’s family (in more ways than one) if it were true. Hopefully it would also give the Holloway’s the answers they’ve been seeking for the past 23 months, like what really did happen to Natalee, revealing the perps identities, even though most of us continue to believe it was Joran, Paulus, and the Kalpoes brothers, etc.

I haven’t seen any pictures, other than what took place on the VDS property.

Thx for the Pics and Update Red and Jossy :)

    7. kittykc on April 29th, 2007 4:03 pm

When the team leaves do they leave anyone behind to protect any unfinished investigation?

    8. 10061906 on April 29th, 2007 4:31 pm

IMO Natalee was taken to the Van der Sloots. I had the wrong building for Joran’s apartment. I believe Natalee was taken to the main bedroom building. That is why the original search was changed to only Joran’s apartment. They could search it all they wanted and would not find any evidence in his pad but possibly find evidence in the main bedrooms. IMO I still feel that Natalee was removed from the VDS house and placed in a crypt in the St. Ana Cemetery. It is only a few minutes away across the street from the Noord police station. She was later placed in with another body and cremated. Those remains may be what are buried on the VDS property. Natalee’s shoes and clothing would have been placed with her. The reason is if the house of cards fall, they fall on Paulus.
Also the reason why it has been stated that it is believed Natalee’s body was moved many times and therefore requires searches all over the island; is basically to draw attention away from 19 Montana.
I never read where Koen was questioned; his father would not permit it; but they interviewed his younger brother who was not at the VDS house; but then again?
Anyway after all this time I’m hoping closure is imminent

    9. Rammstein on April 29th, 2007 4:32 pm

never trust an aruban government official of a politician, the dutch police will never promise such a thing.

    10. kitty on April 29th, 2007 4:35 pm

I wonder, if they will use Satellite photo’s of the property ~ and of the entire Island…from the Date of Natalee’s disappearence, to see what changes were made topographicaly ~ I believe this science does exist…

How long has the pool been in the back yard??? Is she underneath that?? Has the well been checked??? I pray this team has access to the vehicles still…

Dig up the whole stinking yard ~ and take apart every square inch of the house if necessary… uncover every rock ~ and square inch of the place ~ please!~… don’t stop at his house either, continue on the whole Island if necessary… find her please ~ please, resolve this case for her Mother and family ~ God Bless Natalee’s family, they’ve endured what most of us can not even begin to fathom… please keep them in your prayers and this case too… pray that these experts uncover truth.

Re: #3. A word of caution, Susan: that statement was not attributed to either the KLPD or the Netherlands Forensic Institute. We don’t know who Amigoe’s source was or how good that person’s information is.

1006 – Koen was questioned, which we now know and has been made public. You are 100% wrong on that point.

Would love to see it though – it’s 10 pages!

You are right, the Amigoe-article says it was an Aruban-government-official who said it. History has learned that they sometimes make bold statements…

    15. Susan on April 29th, 2007 4:55 pm

#11, postahchild (for what…lol?) – a word of clarification – Robert made reference to KLPD and the Dutch Forsenic Institute, not me. Amigoe said that the source was a highly placed (unnamed) government official. Go figure :)

    16. Jasmine on April 29th, 2007 4:58 pm

I’m very happy to hear that this extensive search is taking place. It’s about time! I hope and pray that Natalee will be found and the perps will finally be brought to justice.

I think we saw new carpeting or carpeting being changed in the VDS home early on. Doe anyone remember that? It would make a huge difference in forensics.

    20. Allan K on April 29th, 2007 5:18 pm

I have waited 2 years for this, not exactly good timing for forensics. Hope for the best to give the family closure and me too. Its hard to come to terms with her being gone without evidence, still that thought in back of the mind without it. Maybe!

“The local authorities, the FBI, and officials of the Dutch Forensic Institute have already searched this house at numerous occasions before, and have confiscated several items and also 2 cars belonging to family Van der Sloot.”

That had to be written by RufRo! The FBI never searched that house and I don’t believe anyone else did either. It’s a straight out LIE. They ONLY searched the creep’s apartment.

    23. Susan on April 29th, 2007 6:04 pm

No biggie, Robert :) I think postahchild was a little confused on who said what…

      Miss Underestimated,

Texas Equusearch not only searches for missing persons, but also recovers their bodies. Maybe Tim is going down to recover Natalee, who knows, but I could be wrong…

I would love to read it since it is only 10 pages long; I’ve read the Natalee timeline and I think that was over 125 pages long. Just give me the link please:

When did Blow Tacopina join the Dutch investigative team? How would he know whether they are closing the case? In fact, didn’t the Dutch announce last week that Joran van der Sloot was still the MAIN suspect, they had found new evidence and were extending the case?

      05. KOEN GOTTENBOS

In October, 2005 Aruban authorities approached Dave Holloway and informed him that Koen Gottenbos could possibly be the key to solving the case. Nevertheless, Koen was never interrogated again in spite of the promises of Gerold Dompig. The assistant prosecutor, Amalin Flanegin, quit because she believed that Koen lied when he was interrogated in the initial stages of the investigation, and Dompig refused bring him in again. A meeting that took place between Koen’s father and the investigators could possibly reveal an explanation
SO as far as I am concerned they never interoggated the bed wetter.

Dayhiker, Joe Taco’s investigative team is made up of three whole people…1. Joe Taco…2. Julia Renfro…and 3. Joran Van Der Sloot

    29. Sparks on April 30th, 2007 12:13 am

I wonder if investigators are looking for Natalee’s belongings buried at the Van Der Sloot compound and Natalee’s remains at the lighthouse?

I’m praying for Natalee’s family and friends. They had their hopes dashed to many times!

    30. D.Nichols on May 1st, 2007 10:12 am

This is such a frustrating case…for them to begin this search 2 YEARS later-my heart just breaks for Natalee and her family.

I pray there is finally justice for Natalee-I will not stop praying.
