Well Tex, did the thought occur to you that just maybe Ms. Bock, at the age of 83, had no living relatives, and possibly no friends to boot :-( That’s sad, I know, but very possible, and even sadder that her remains weren’t discovered until 3 years later. Thank goodness the folks that bought her home did find her remains and she can at least have a proper burial.

Reports like this make me sad too. Reminds me of the report a few weeks ago about the guy who had been dead for more than a year in his home when his mummified body was found in a chair in front of his TV set. Though his utility bills had not been paid for more than a year, the power company had not shut off the electricity and the television was still on when they found him setting there.

That is terrible :-( Unfortunately, there are many people out there in this cold, cruel world who don’t have loved ones or friends to check on them from time to time. Worst yet would be to have relatives still alive, but the individuals had a falling out years ago, and haven’t spoken to each other since…

The report said she was reported missing, by who? How is it a person can be reported missing and not even have their home searched for clues. Me thinks we need to look to the police for dropping the ball on this one.

Folks … she was reported as missing.

Where were the police to at least go into her home and check and see if she was OK?

You are all missing this point.

Its not a matter of her loved ones, she was deemed missing. How do you not go into her home and check?

      AP News…exerpts from POlice Interview..

Police” When was the last time you saw your grandmother?”

Grandson” Well, you see Grandma and me were playing hide and seek. ‘Cept she hid herself real well. I got bored and went home. Later in the week, mom and dad reported her missing.

Then you guys showed up three years later with the bone story….”

Police: “Okay, thanks, we will get back to you. We have a 10-25 at the donut shop…later
