Bush vs Gore on the Energy Efficient Home

We hear all day long about how noble Albert Gore is with his energy conservation and mission for clearing up global warming. Conversely, it is common knowledge onthe left that George Bush is the root cause for everything environmentally wrong with the country.

Well guess who owns this 4,000 square foot house:

“Geothermal heat pumps located in a central closet circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground where the temperature is a constant 67 degrees; the water heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer,” Rob Sullivan wrote. “Systems such as the one in this ‘eco-friendly’ dwelling use about 25 percent of the electricity that traditional heating and cooling systems utilize.”

And then take a guess who owns this energy wasting home.

But according to the Tennessee think tank, while the average American household consumed 10,656 kilowatt-hours last year, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 – more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, according to Johnson’ group, Gore burned through 22,619 kilowatt-hours of electricity, more than twice the amount in one month that an average American family uses in an entire year. Gore’s average monthly electric bill, the think tank says, is $1,359.

The Tennessee group also points out natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

Folks, it is so typical of the way the world is these days. Those who walk the walk typically do it quietly, and those who are looking to exploit an issue and make it a cause celebre do so at the top of their voices, only to rarely swallow the bitter pill they expect others to swallow.

And if you did not know it, it was George W Bush who has the energy efficient home.

We must act now on global warming threat
      (February 8, 2007)

      Excerpt:

The Stockholm Peace Research Institute estimates the world is spending nearly $1 trillion yearly on armaments. If we look further into cosmic history it will be apparent we are fighting the wrong wars.

Steven Hawking, brilliant British physicist, warns the war on terrorism is draining wealth and energy while leading us in the wrong direction – inciting more hatred and violence. Hawking pointed out, “Terrorism will kill thousands of people while global warming will kill millions. We are in need of a war against global warming.”

In 2004 the Pentagon issued a report that has gone without response from the White House. Now the Pentagon tells Bush: “Climate change will destroy us.” The Pentagon warned climate change is a bigger threat to the world than terrorism. Only toward the end of January did Mr. Bush begin to admit there is a problem.

This is why I don’t listen to most of them,, they say one thing and do another..never trusted anyone like that.

“Al Gore might have won an Oscar for ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, but the film is very misleading and he has got the relationship between CO2 and climate change the wrong way round.”

One major piece of evidence of CO2 causing global warming are ice core samples from Antarctica, which show that for hundreds of years, global warming has been accompanied by higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.

In ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’ Al Gore is shown claiming this proves the theory, but palaeontologist Professor Ian Clark claims in the documentary that it actually shows the opposite.

He has evidence showing that warmer spells in the Earth’s history actually came an average of 800 years before the rise in CO2 levels.

Prof Clark believes increased levels of CO2 are because the Earth is heating up and not the cause. He says most CO2 in the atmosphere comes from the oceans, which dissolve the gas.

When the temperature increases, more gas is released into the atmosphere and when global temperatures cool, more CO2 is taken in. Because of the immense size of the oceans, he said they take time to catch up with climate trends, and this ‘memory effect’ is responsible for the lag.

Scientists in the programme also raise another discrepancy with the official line, showing that most of the recent global warming occurred before 1940, when global temperatures then fell for four decades.

It was only in the late 1970s that the current trend of rising temperatures began.

Gore seems to be above the enery crisis and global warming, he wants everyone else to do something about it, not him.

Houston is correct. Like most liberals there are obvious contradictions between their words and their actions. This can be seen time and time again; the Gore home is a drop in the sea of hypocrisy. Check it out at theorangefox.com

The controversy Maggie, is about the cause of global warming, the cosmic ray group versus the human activity group debating theories. But the scientists debating whether global warming is caused by a natural cosmic event or is an event caused by humans is like debating the cause of a forest fire while the forest burns.

I expect both groups are right and that the causes of global warming is both solar activity and human activity. Without debating causes we should agree to leave cosmic management to the Eternal One but do all that we can in terms of managing the human activities contributing to climate change.

I do think Al Gore can do more and should do more to walk the talk of a greenie. In reducing individual contributions to global warming, “the great unwashed” is at a disadvantage compared to Mr. Gore. If the masses are to respect him in his revolution against global warming, rather than just talk green, I reckon he will have to shell out a tad more of his wealth toward solar panels, solar cells and wind turbines to reduce a greater amount of his own CO2 emissions. Until then, it will be my opinion that Mr. Gore is more a genuine weenie than a genuine greenie.

Using money he made swindling remote tribes in South America through Occidental Petroleum, Gore has founded a company in Great Britain to sell these bogus carbon emission offsets. In other words, he pays himself and his company invests the money for him to get richer off the ignorance of others.

#1, Stephen Hawking said SOME of that. But I do not believe the Pentagon even mentioned Global Warming in their threat assessment.

I surely didn’t see it there!

20,000 scientists have now signed the Oregon Petition stating this is bogus and just not caused by humans nor is there anything we can do about it . The reason they have yet to release the data to go with the political report from the IPCC is that it is going in the opposite direction, cooling, since their last 2001 report! OOPS! That’s why everything was revised downward. Wonder when we get the real data instead of political statements?

ClimatePolice.com and many other new websites are refuting this left and right. JunkScience.com has been doing so for years.

But those who think it is the real deal, just go buy offsets from Rev. Al and join his cult! This is the new environmental religion, nothing more.

It’s about as valid as Gore’s claim to have invented the internet.

Those who can afford to go GREEN make a big to do about it funny. The people who can’t afford to go GREEN are more GREEN due to economic restrictions. We shut our lights, keep our heat down, navigate our errands, use mass transportation, recycle, anything we can do to keep our utility and transportation cost down. How much GREENER can we go?

personally i’m getting sick of the democrat talking heads pointing out the size of gore’s family. what kind of idiots do they think we are? gore’s children are grown & i doubt any of them still reside with mom & dad.

most likely gore’s residence only houses 2 full time adult residents. those gas sucking suvs are to transport 2 adults. what a waste.

      gore needs refocus his efforts.

Wonder if this will help pay off his 221,000 kwhrs.

Indianapolis – Tickets go on sale Monday for an upcoming appearance by former Vice President Al Gore. He’s giving a lecture in Indianapolis on April 24th.

Gore will discuss his Academy Award-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and focus on the issue of global warming.

You can purchase tickets at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck on the city’s north side. Ticket prices range from $25 to $500.

30 years ago the “Inconveniet Truth” of the day was we are going into an “Ice Age” . How did that change to “Global Warming” in just 30 years. Can anyone explain that?

how stupid are you people, or are you just all republicans. Al Gore offsets his emmisions with his “carbon nuetral” sceme. I tend to belive he is doing this more than a man who led us into a war so that he could settle a score for daddy, and look after his generous mates in the oil industry. Um, no al queda in iraq! they hate each other… Now these rediculous reports surface with now actual bearing on global warming, in order to discredit the man who fears for his childrens future, as do I. Wake up to yourselves!!!
