Missing Tara Grant’s Torso found in Garage … Husband Sought by Police

The torso of missing 34 year old Tara Grant was found yesterday during a police search of a home shared by Tara and Stephen Grant. The worst fears that this case had all the similarities of Scott and Lacy Peterson seems to have come to fruition.

This woman has been missing since February 9th and her husband reported her missing 5 days later. Why did it take so long for the authorities to search her home. I would have suspected the husband as soon as he made that call. If I am not mistaken now they are looking for the husband. This is so sad because I saw her sister this morning on the CBS morning show talking about her sister. The CBS asked her if she thought her hubby had anything to do with her disappearance and she said I hope not.

You do not know how many emails and comments we receive from people saying … you can’t presume someone is guilty.

“You are innocent until proven guilty” yada, yada yada.

A blog and a forum is not a court of law. It is the court of common sense and opinion. The case of missing Tara Grant reeked of Lacy Peterson from the beginning.

      Looks like we were right.

Why did it take a month for authorities to search the residence of Tara Grant? After all, her husband was the last know person to have been with her and … their residence was the last known place she had been observed. Her husband attested to this. Also, her husband conceded that they had argued.
      .
Logic dictates that the residence/property of the Grants should have been the first place search in the process of elimination.
      .
It has never been reported by authorities or extended family members that the husband ever refused a request to search their residence/property.
      .
Something is not right with the picture that is emerging!

#6 Janet I agree. It is very strange why it took them so long. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Maybe the press conference will clear up some of this. That body must have been covered with something to curtail odor, or the whole neighborhood would have noticed after a few days.

      Strange story

    10. Mortella on March 3rd, 2007 3:01 pm

Yes, this is strange. A search of the home should have been first order of the day followed by polygraph of husband. Innocent people don’t mind and have nothing to hide.

I mean it’s not as though this is the first time the husband/boyfriend has been behind one of these sorts of murders.

    11. San on March 3rd, 2007 4:29 pm

#10 Mortella I agree innocent people have nothing to hide.

I was just reading Foxnews and they said additional body parts were located in a nearby public park. And the lawyer for Stephen Grant believes he may have committed suicide. She said he was “emotionally distraught and suicidal.” They all become emotionally distraught because they got caught if they didn’t find her body you think he would be so distraught.

What a horrible thing to do to someone, especially your wife. What a sicko! I need to read up on this case and find out more of what happened, but it’s unbelievable that the police didn’t search the property for so long!! What a terrible tragedy…

    13. Stranger on March 3rd, 2007 7:50 pm

The cops didn’t give out many details at all. I wonder if he had her frozen somewhere and just started trying to get rid of the body after he knew there would be a search.

What is going on with people these days? Divorce is STILL an option!

    14. Tibrogargan on March 3rd, 2007 8:46 pm

#12 Hi Mishy. Fox news reported that police said this sicko was obstructive and refused to hand over the computer. Gave them two laptops instead, and would not allow them to search. Did not report wife missing for 5 days then said she drove off in a waiting cab after an argument with him. Police must have believed him otherwise you would expect them to search the house straight away. Seems like the culprits call the shots these days. Where have we seen this before?

How could they miss finding her torso in the garage? Didn’t authorities search it before now?

Fox news said the manhunt for the husband is over. I have to laugh at this guys lawyer. He was convinced he was going to commit suicide and I knew that he wasn’t. Kimberly Guilfoyle asked the lawyer last night well what if he didn’t commit suicide and the lawyer quickly turned around and said well then the search is illegal and all the evidence will be inadmissiblein court. Kimberly said I understand that is what you are going to say and you are trying to build your case for your client but we will see if the search was illegal.

      #15 ms.darthvada they didn’t get a search warrant issued until March 2nd.

      19. You are right about him having her eyes. I’m waiting to find out more about this guy. I bet he was a total nut job to begin with.

    21. Maggie on March 4th, 2007 8:39 pm

This is totally disgusting what was done to this poor woman.

    22. Stranger on March 5th, 2007 9:31 am

The husband has confessed. Did he say why????????

    23. Tee on March 5th, 2007 11:59 pm

According to local reports, the torso originally was taken out to the field, then moved back to the family garage once police began to search the field. Also, Mich temps have been in 20′s, which could have affected the odor factor.
