Yes I know taco is not the Kalpoes lawyer, but would love to have seen his flips and rage when he heard about this vs vs conduit ‘debungled’. Hope this might be discussed on the radio show. Seems the kalpoes puckered up to greed.
My observation, no one has done more to keep the fight alive than Scared Monkeys. Not part of the family, and know no one there, but thanks much. The resolve will help many people. Is a good fight, brought a lot of folks together to care about anothers life in a world often desensitized. I have not said it often so again, thanks SM and posters.

In addition to previous message: Besides his main field of operation – infrastructure – Marco v.d. Sloot also is involved in his parties economics and knowledge (= education aso) portfolio.
Betty, back when the Chandra Levy case was in the news (it remains unsolved, by the way) the National Enquirer would frequently come out with articles saying that she had been found buried in the Arizona desert, etc. Their bill for insurance against lawsuits must be hefty, but they are skilled at writing in such a way as to minimize their liability.
I imagine that the Kalpoes lawyers roped in some American firm to help them. The Arubans probably aren’t all that in on American law, just like an American firm handling a suit overseas might well rein in legal talent in that country to help with the details.
I don’t know if there are any law firms on Aruba with American branches; my guess would be, probably not.
I imagine that the whole thing is one of these contingency lawsuits, where the Kalpoes (IF they win) pay over most or all of the damages awarded to the lawyers. If they lost, the law firms that represent them take it in the chin.
That’s just my guess … but I can’t imagine that they have the finances to take on a Hollywood company.
I suspect that they aren’t going to be showing up in court, given the suit against them. Some legal experts seem to think that the Holloway Twitty suit can proceed anyway, but even if the family win in a U.S. court, I wonder if they can enforce anything if the scumbags stay in Aruba.
God knows, I hope so!
The suggestion that Marco v.d. Sloot has influence on this case is not true I think. He is member of a provincial branche of a national political party but is not even in the provincial counsil and propably won’t be either after elections of march 7th. He plays a role in this partie as speaker for infrastructural matters and he’s involved in economic and “knowledge” portfolios as well. In other words he’s not a very big patatoe…

Dr.Phil set this whole thing up from the beginning. It started with the Dr.Phil show purposely editing those tapes a certain way. I think this was done on purpose to upset the Kalpoe brothers to try to get them to sue his show. Now California has the power! Dr.Phil McGraw had a plan using his show as a bait. He probably knows the group of lawyers working on the Kalpoes. I bet the lawyers have been working on the Kalpoes and showing them BIG Money if they win. And the greedy Kalpoe brothers fell right into the trap. I am sure the lawyers told them they could make millions off of Dr.Phil. I am sure Dr.Phil is delighted right now!!
Pcot: I don’t think you are correct in the respect that I don’t think Dr. Phil tried to make it appear any different than what Skeeters told him it was. I also don’t think Kalpoes’ lawyers are in on this – that would be unethical.
However, I do think that it is possible that the lure was set by Skeeters and Dr. Phil not strongly defending the tape once the Netherlands said it was altered. Face it, they could have presented US experts who said there was no alterations.
Another note: just heard the Lawyer on Greta say he doesn’t think Twitty’s get jurisdiction over the Kalpoes just due to them filing a suit against the Kalpoes. He thinks that only submits the Kalpoes to suits by CBS and Dr. Phil. I disagree, but admit I don’t know all nuances of CA law.
However, he did say that he thinks the Twittys might get jurisdiction by serving the Kalpoes when they are in CA.
I believe the CA courts will reason that a foreign person can not come to CA and use the CA courts only for their limited purposes. Guess we will see as there are probably 100′s of opinions on this.
