Canadian Police Make “Organized Crime” Arrests … Mob infiltrated Montreal’s Pierre Trudeau International Airport.
There’s nothing like a good “traditional Italian” organized crime sweep to arrest the bad guys. Such was the case in Canada where “Project Colisee” took place and more than 70 people were arrested of organized crime members who had infiltrated Montreal’s Pierre Trudeau International Airport.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said those arrested included Nicolo Rizzuto, 82, and other individuals alleged to be affiliated with the Mafia. They face 1,350 criminal charges, including illicit drug trafficking, gangsterism and attempted murder.
Among the alleged criminal activities were smuggling cocaine into Quebec from the Caribbean and South America and smuggling marijuana into the United States. Investigators said they seized houses, bank accounts, and more than C$3 million ($2.6 million) in cash. (Yahoo News)
Mobsters from Sicily and New York arrived in Montreal and tried to negotiate peace between the two factions. They were not successfully and Rizzuto fled to Venezuela in 1974, after Violi reportedly placed a contract on his head.
He settled around Carcas, Venezuela, where he ran a restaurant called The Godfather. According to police, Rizzuto also operated a major money laundering and cocaine trafficking ring. He continued to work closely with the Caruana/Cuntrera family and maintained links with other Sicilian mobsters and Colombian drug cartels.
Kansas Man, Robert Richardson II, Sentenced to Prison in HIV Case
Robert Richardson II, an HIV positive man was sentenced to nearly 3 years in prison for knowingly exposing three woman to the virus without their knowledge. Sentenced for 3 years for what may become a death sentence for three unknowing victims. Was the sentence long enough?
Richardson was found guilty last month of four counts of HIV exposure involving three women, and he was found not guilty of exposing a fourth woman.
Jurors said they were appalled by how he deceived the women by telling them his health problems were from a heart condition. Richardson said he didn’t lie, and that he did have a “HAART” condition – short for Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy, the name he used for his HIV-treatment drug regimen. (AP)

Even The Turkeys Are Taking a Train Out of New Jersey For Thanksgiving
When it is time to travel for Thanksgiving, even this crew of turkeys are getting into the act. This great picture and story of a gaggle (?) of turkeys at a New Jersey Transit station begs the question, were they fleeing the axe or heading into New York City for the Thanksgiving Parade.
Some wild turkeys, it appears, were trying to get out of New Jersey before Thanksgiving Day. A spokesman for the NJ Transit said train officials reported a dozen or so wild turkeys waiting on a station platform in Ramsey, about 20 miles northwest of New York City, on Wednesday afternoon. The line travels to Suffern, N.Y.
“For a moment, it looked like the turkeys were waiting for the next outbound train,” said Dan Stessel, a spokesman for NJ Transit. “Clearly, they’re trying to catch a train and escape their fate.”Transit workers followed the bird’s movements on surveillance cameras. “I have no idea how they got there,” Stessel said. via Yahoo News, also here.
