WOW, Lawyers will Stop at Nothing for that Billable Hour … The Alien Abduction Defense Syndrome

File this one under the “you have got to be joking” category.

A German lawyer is trying to drum up business and the old billable hour by attempting to get business “pursuing state compensation claims for people who believe they were abducted by aliens”. Key word, “believe”. Absolutely unbelievable.

“There’s quite obviously demand for legal advice here,” Jens Lorek told Reuters by telephone on Thursday. “The trouble is, people are afraid of making fools of themselves in court.”

There is a demand for people who think they have been abducted by aliens. Al-righty-then. However, the esteemed Barrister thinks potential business will be squelched due to people afraid of making fools of themselves. Go figure?

I guess the sharks don’t just live in America. Other countries have their fair share of bottom-feeding attorney that will exploit anyone or any loop hole. Check out the reason why he wishes to go after the “alien abduction syndrome.” By the way, he has yet to win and abduction case, but that is not important. That’s not important when exploiting the rules.

He has yet to win any abduction claims, but says there are plenty of potential clients, noting that extra-terrestrial watchdogs report scores of alien assaults every year.

These people could appeal for therapies or cures,” he said.

Lorek, 41, is pinning his hopes for success on a German law which grants kidnap victims the right to state compensation. (Reuters)

I guess he will be advertizing on Art Bell Overnight …lol.

What a niche business … people abducted by aliens only taken from Germany. I would think pickins would be a bit slim.

#l, maggie, that’s a good one. i want to see the lawyers sue the aliens that abducted the poor people. let the aliens pay for their own errors of picking up people who sue at the drop of a saucer. of course that will mean the aliens have to pay all the lawyer fees too. that should cut down on the number of suits filed.
