Let the Hurricane Season begin; Will this Tropical Depression become the first, Alberto

 

The start of the hurricane season is upon us, the first named storm of the season Tropical Dep 5 daywould be Alberto. Presently the first tropical depression of the of the 2006 Atlantic season has formed in the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

The depression had maximum sustained winds near 35 mph and could develop into the first named storm of the season later in the day, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The depression was expected to move through the Yucatan Channel into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, forecasters said
