Amigoe: Preliminary investigation Holloway-case almost wound up (Van der Sloots claim 531.000 florins in Damages)
That’s correct Aruba, 531.000 florins in damages. This is what the Van der Sloot family is claiming that they are owed by the government, which in turn is your tax dollars or florins as the case may be. In a case where so many have claimed that the Holloway’s and Twitty’s were some how in it for the money as they have a daughter missing; the Van der Sloots look to cash in for 531.000 florins or approximately 296,648.06 US Dollars.
The family indicated that the compensation for emotional damages as the result of the criminal preliminary investigation on Joran as well as on his father Paul van der Sloot is 350.000 florins and the material damages 144.000, an additional 25.000 florins due to means of coercion, and 11.935 florins in legal costs.
An entire law suit predicated upon a lie. Whether any one believes Joran Van der Sloot’s latest version of the truth or not; the damages that the Van der Sloot family is claiming was brought on them by one of their own family members. Joran Van der Sloot has admitted that he lied to investigators from the outset. Of course many believe he and the Kalpoe brothers continue to lie; however, the initial lies by these suspects created the environment in Aruba whereas Joran and Paulas Van der Sloot were arrested. One would hope that Dutch law has the concept known as “mitigation of damages.”
The people of Aruba really need to take a good look at what is happening here and where their tax dollars are about to be spent. Who created the swarm of controversy and the legal problem that Joran Van der Sloot presently finds himself in as he is still a suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway? Also, who created the environment that in turn implicated Paulas Van der Sloot in to the disappearance as well?
HINT: IT WAS JORAN’s LIES.

Natalee Holloway Investigation: Back To the Sand Dunes … Finally
So Aruban officials are finally going to search the sand dunes. What exactly has taken them this long? Unfortunately the discussion of searching the dunes has become nothing more than a joke. One wonders what issues does Aruba and the ALE have in searching this area. They were first offered help from the FBI. Then they were offered help from Texas EquuSearch. They turned down TES and made it impossible for the FBI to help.
Lets look at the time line of events with the sand dunes and the lack of any progress or desperation to search this area in any timely manner, even though they claim they have credible information. Does everyone realize it has been since January 17 since the ALE searched this area?
January 14, 2006: Tim Miller and Jim Whitaker.go to Aruba to discuss water search
January 16, 2006: Tim Miller get green light from Dompig to resume search for Natalee Holloway in the water.
Jannuary 17, 2006: New search at sand dunes begin near the California Lighthouse
The policemen used sticks with an iron ends to prick the sand, hoping in vain to stumble across something.
More than 50 police officers began searching a 1-square-mile area on Monday, said Gerold Dompig, Aruba’s chief of police. The search was suspended Tuesday.
January 19, 2006: Rita Cosby ‘Live & Direct’, New leads discovered bring ALE back to the Sand Dunes.
The island’s deputy police chief now says credible information lead to this latest hunt for clues. These sand dunes could be the very last place where Natalee Holloway was seen alive by three young men previously held by Aruban authorities in her disappearance.
JOSSY MANSUR, “DIARIO” NEWSPAPER: The tip hasn’t been revealed to us. There is a tip that one witness gave to the police that started this whole search at the area of the dunes. They have been searching yesterday. I think they were searching today. They still have about 20 more hours of searches to do.
January 22, 2006: FBI not bringing Search Dogs to Aruba
The reason for the FBI refuses because “the Aruban police won’t say who tipped them off to start searching the dune two weeks ago“.
The roller-coaster ride that is the Natalee Holloway investigation continues. As reported last night on ‘Rita Cosby, ‘Live & Direct’, in an interview with Beth Twitty and Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch; the FBI is refusing to send cadaver dogs to Aruban to help in the latest search of the sand dunes.

Bon Dia: Court doesn’t want to hand down verdict yet in the case of Mr. Paul van der Sloot vs. the Government
This Court needs to explain to the world how someone who is still a suspect in a potential rape and murder case of Natalee Holloway can actually receive a damage for anything? Just a couple of weeks ago Joran Van der Sloot was denied by a judge to be officially taken off the suspect list. Why should he be able to claim and damages, it has not been determined yet whether he is guilty of alleged crimes. We do know that a judge thought enough to still consider him a suspect.
There is on on going sexual assault/murder investigation case that the Prosecutors are putting together and some how sharing documents in this case is more important.
Wants to obtain documents of penal investigation against Joran
Court doesn’t want to hand down verdict yet in the case of Mr. Paul van der Sloot vs. the Government
ORANJESTAD — The Court from Curaà §ao wishes to obtain more information on the case, especially that of Joran van der Sloot, before making a decision in the case of damages for prejudice brought forward by the van der Sloot family against the Government.
In an exclusive interview with Bon Dia Aruba, attorney Swaen, who is Paul van der Sloot’s lawyer, made it known that the judge from Curaà §ao, who represents the Court, made an interim decision in the case.
Mr. A. Swaen, who represents the five members of the van der Sloot family in the case, explains that after he convinced the judge from Curaà §ao, who represents the Court, that not only Mr. van der Sloot but also the whole family could file for damages for prejudice, on the 13 and 30 of January of 2006 the case was dealt with in Court. The final word was that this month would yield a decision, however it now turns out that there is an interim decision.

Amigoe; March 14, 2006: More money to marketing and promotion of Aruba
ARUBA — In order to combat the decline in the tourism, Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (Ahata) will spend an extra 1.2 million dollars in marketing, said Otmar Oduber (AVP), chairman of the Parliament-committee Tourism. “Instead of cutting costs, the government body Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) should also invest more in marketing and promotion.”
According to Oduber, the month January showed a tourist decline of 4.3 percent compared to last year. The decline has to do with the Natalee Holloway-affair. The Parliament-committee had a meeting with representatives of Ahata recently.
