Amigoe: Joran van der Sloot tells his ‘truth’. (aka: a new version of Aruba the Truth)
From Amigoe: Sunday 26 February 2006, Joran van der Sloot tells his ‘truth’.
“It is time to tell the truth”, said Joran in the interview.
Well I guess Karen Janssen will be interested to know then that would mean he was lying all summer when he was being questioned. Now its time to tell the truth? Not when it could have made a difference in gaining valuable leads and information in finding Natalee Holloway. The tales Joran Van der Sloot spins makes one wonder exactly what is truth and what is fiction.
He claims he lied in the beginning because he was scared, yet he was not scared to continually tell lies to the interrogators until this interview with the US media? That is believable. Aruba, he belongs to you and your island hangs in the balance as to the perpetual lies he tells and obstructs an investigation. Support him if you will, but there are consequences that go with it. For all those that back him and support Joran; if your life was on the line as to whether he was lying or telling the truth, would you still trust him?
From Amigoe:
ARUBA — Natalee Holloway had drunk some, but was not under the influence of alcohol on the evening of her disappearance. She did say something strange about her mother. “She said that her mother is Hitler’s sister.” This is what Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in the case of the disappeared girl, said in Primetime on the American TV-station ABC that was broadcasted on Thursday evening.
It’s the first time that the suspect gave a detailed interview. He recently refused to talk to the Aruban and Dutch media. It was also the first time that the Americans could hear the other side of the story.

Natalee Holloway Story: Many Just do not Get its Popularity, Including Aruba
For the longest time, many have scoffed at the fact that the Natalee Holloway
disappearance story has managed to stay in the media spot light. Many have criticized it, yet still managed to report, post and do articles only to capitalize on the stories popularity. The fact is that people want to know what happened, they are intrigued and they have a personal bond with the story.
The Natalee Holloway story is a “Perfect Storm” of a confluence of issues that have captured the attention, hearts and minds of many. The missing American teenage girl who could be anyone’s daughter, sister or cousin with her entire life ahead of her, an international element occurring on a vacation island in the Caribbean that is deemed a safe, and the perceived cover up and preferential treatment of a local boy who has lied more times about the events of that fateful evening than one cares to analyze. That coupled with a continued investigation that has been marred with errors, a lack of proper searches and an attitude of no sense of urgency. Just like in the “Perfect Storm”, the Andrea Gail could not get out of the storms path and neither can Aruba with the Natalee Holloway story.
Many have thought that people eventually would lose interest and go away, including many wishful individuals in Aruba. Ask ABC’s Prime Time if the story is waning? The other night when they interviewed Joran Van der Sloot they received their largest audience and highest rating in three years . The broadcast averaged 12.4 million total viewers.
The broadcast averaged 12.4 million total viewers. The news magazine’s 4.4 rating in the 18-49 demo beat CBS’s 3.8…
Not only has the staying power of the Natalee Holloway story helped put pressure on Aruba to get to the bottom of the disappearance, it has also brought light on many other missing persons cases in the MSM. The media has understood that viewers are interested in missing persons cases and the media exposure putting out missing stories cases helps helps in the process. It can be a win-win, if none correctly.
The story is not going away unless it is solved and even then Natalee Holloway will
have a legacy. This month Beth Twitty begins her “Stay Safe” program which kicks off at Natalee Holloway’s high school. It will reference her daughter missing in Aruba. In April Dave Holloway’s book, ‘Aruba : The Tragic Untold Story of Natalee Holloway and Corruption in Paradise’ will be released. At the end of May will be the one year anniversary of Natalee’s disappearance.
Going away? Viewers losing interest? Hardly. There is only one way that this story loses interest; justice and the prosecution of those responsible. The sooner the searches on tips and leads are done by the ALE. The sooner that Aruba prosecutes those responsible. The sooner this case will diminish.
However, the coverage of missing person cases by the media will never be the same.

Michael Posner Upset over Excelsior casino Security Tapes to ABC
Add just a couple more strange circumstances in to the mix to the ABC Prime Time
interview with Joran Van der Sloot. It was reported that Joran, Natalee Holloway and other Mountain Brook students were at a black jack table in the Excelsior casino. This was presented in exclusive security film footage provided to ABC by an anonymous source.
It has been reported in the past that Michael Posner runs the casino operations and his past ties to organized crime. However, ABC affiliate out of Chicago is once again reporting the same news: Aruban casino boss had ties to Chicago mob, Missing Alabama teen last seen at casino. This is a little bit misleading as Carlos N’ Charlie’s was actually the last place that Natalee Holloway was ever seen. However, they do go into detail of Posner’s past affiliations and the fact that the Aruban government still saw fit to have him run and manage the gaming operations at The Excelsior.
Authorities on the island of Aruba have not been able to solve the mystery of what happened to Alabama teenager Natalie Holloway. She disappeared while on a high school trip last spring. The ABC7 I-Team has learned new details about the casino where Holloway was last seen, an Aruba casino run by a convicted high-ranking Chicago mobster.
However, through his attorney Posner states that he has been clean for quite some time and that he was not in Aruba at the time of the disappearance. Posner also claims he does not know Van der Sloot or ever giving him credit.
Casino boss Michael Posner denies that he knows van der Sloot and denies ever extending him casino credit. Posner’s lawyer Allan Ackerman says Posner was in Chicago when Holloway vanished and returned to Aruba the day after.
Adding more intrigue to the mix is the fact that Posner is furious that security tapes from The Excelsior that he volunteered to the ALE for the Natalee Holloway investigation wound up in the hands of ABC. Posner, according to his attorney is looking into legal action to whoever turned it over to ABC. Nothing like evidence from private surveillance videos given to the ALE showing up in the media. How does evidence make it into the hands of the media? Maybe the ALE would like to share the statements as well from the three suspects with the MSM for all of us to see as well?

Natalee Holloway: IT’S TIME TO BRING HER HOME!
After Joran Van der Sloots interview last night many figure its about time we bring Natalee home. “Sweet Home Alabama”
IT’S TIME TO BRING HER HOME!
Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the South Island
I miss Natalee once again
And I think its a sin, yes
Well I heard mister Joran sing about her
Well, I heard old Joran put her down
Well, I hope Joran will remember
A Southern momma won’t let you live it down anyhow
Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord, I’m coming home to you
In Birmingham they love her mother
Now we all did what we could do
Now Arubagate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth!

Tennessee, Its About Time: Tennessee stopped issuing driving certificates to illegal immigrants Friday
It took Tennessee how long to figure out such a practice as abuse could be occurring by issuing driving certificates to illegal immigrants? What part about the fact that you were issuing legitimate documents to illegals didn’t quite anyone understand? At least the practice has now come to an end.
Tennessee stopped issuing driving certificates to illegal immigrants Friday after investigations found they were being shuttled from other states, using fake residency papers and sometimes bribing state workers to get the cards. (AP)
The law of unintended circumstances usually always comes into play by implementing such a program as this, but who could not have seen this coming?
“This program was a good idea in theory, but there have been issues with implementation,” Nicely said.
The certificates, which are stamped “not valid for identification,” were meant to improve driving safety by making sure immigrants living in the state knew traffic rules. Recent federal investigations found that illegal immigrants were traveling hundreds of miles from other states to get the certificates illegally.
Joran Van der Sloot says, “if missing teen is found, I’d hate her”
Joran van der Sloot went on ABC’s Prime Time last night and proved two things:
- 1. There is a reason why clients should listen to their attorneys and keep their mouths shut.
- 2. Joran Van der Sloot was not ready to be a “prime time” player.
Some of the more memorable quotes from last night that many including Karen Janssen, the Kalpoe’s attorney and John Q. Kelly will be looking at over the coming days. Joran Van der Sloots delusion is that for some reason people are now supposed to believe him. With an ever changing story and zero credibility it literally comes to who lies less, Joran or the Kalpoe’s?
Hate is such a strong emotion. Makes people do terrible things. An amazing comment to come from his mouth about an individual that most all believe has passed.
But van der Sloot also said if he could speak to Holloway now, he wouldn’t have anything nice to say.
“If I were to see her … if she were to be found tomorrow, I think I’d hate her,” he said. “If she really ran away from home, if she did something like that, I’d hate her.” (What would you do if she said, no?)
Joran, trust is a two-way street. Joran would have the audacity to make references about trust? This is actually almost comical. I have never told you the truth yet, however, now you must believe me.
“I don’t trust the media, and I don’t think, I don’t really care, if the media trusts me or not,” he said. “I want to be trusted, and you earn that trust by telling the truth. And that’s what I am trying to do. … I’m just happy that I told the story. I said what happened, and that’s good.”
In another great example of the pot calling the kettle names,
Eventually, van der Sloot and his friends Deepak and Satish Kalpoe admitted that the Holiday Inn story was a lie. According to police documents, the Kalpoe brothers then turned on van der Sloot, saying neither of them had driven him home from the beach that night.
Van der Sloot said they were lying.
Joran do you really know why it was wrong? Or is it only wrong now because Natalee Holloway is missing?
Van der Sloot said that he was picked up by a friend at the beach but that Holloway refused to join him. He said he left her behind, which he now admits was the wrong thing to do.

Truth is Stranger than Fiction: Missing Girl Adrianne Delaney Found in Aruba
Adrianne Delaney, a student at Massasoit College in Brockton, MA was last seen
early Saturday morning, February 18. Her vehicle was just recently found and now so has she. Just when things cannot seem to get any stranger we get a reverse missing persons story out of Aruba.
Plympton Police notified the media this morning that 19 year old Adrianne Delaney has been located in Aruba. Yes, that is correct, Aruba.
Ms. Delaney has left the area on a recent flight out of Boston to Aruba. Police have confirmed that Ms. Delaney did in fact purchase a ticket and appears to be traveling alone. Although at this time it appears she is acting on her own free will, the Plympton Police continue to actively interview individuals familiar with her situation and will be working with Federal officials to locate and interview Ms. Delaney. Ms. Delaney has previously visited the Island and has acquaintances there.”
Talk about your strange coincidence with Aruba being in the focal point with the Natalee Holloway disappearance. Wonder who her acquaintences are down there and why she would do such a thing? Also wonder if this was a purchased same day ticket or done in advance. A same day ticket to Aruba could not be cheap.
Previous posts on the missing story of Adrianne Delaney.
Dave Holloway on the Joran Van der Sloot Interview; Lies, Lies, Lies.
Dave Holloway, the father of the missing AL teen in Aruba, was asked to give his opinion of the ABC Joran Van der Sloot interview. In a nutshell Dave said, the “Interview Full of Lies.”
Van der Sloot admits he has lied in the past about the night he spent with Natalee Holloway, but he says he’s telling the truth now. He says he left her, unharmed at the beach the night she disappeared and he went home.
“Do you buy anything he’s saying?” asked this reporter.
“When somebody lies the first time and then they lie again and implicate two other people, you can’t buy anything they say from here on out,” said Holloway.
Joran Van der Sloot certainly does suffer from a credibility stand point. Between the previous and continues fabrications and the smirks during the interview, it is really hard to believe much of what comes from Joran’s mouth. Dave Holloway comments on the fact that Joran ran off the beach and left his shoes behind. During the interview Joran says he got to the car and realized he did not have his shoes and just left anyhow. What reasonable person just doesn’t walk back and get them?
Holloway sat down with us to watch the interview with van der Sloot, and he says there are too many holes for him to be believed. Chief among them, he said, is how the Dutch teen says he left his shoes on the beach and how that isn’t proof that he was panicked when he left.
“For someone to say he left his shoes on the beach and jumped in the car and left, something happened,” said Holloway. “You don’t run off and leave your shoes and then start making up a bunch of lies.”
(WTOK)
Dave Holloway also hopes that Joran’s lies will catch up to him. After watching the ABC interview many now can understand why attorneys tell there clients to shut up. In all, this interview did Joran no favors.
