Beth Twitty discusses the new water searches, the fisherman’s huts, and police wanting to question Natalee’s friends.

During the Beth Twitty interview on Fox Line Up October 22, 2005, she makes some rather interesting comments. Some rather bold ones even for Beth Twitty:

Well Julie I think that Aruba realizes they don’t have any choice but to solve this case. They have to find out what happened to Natalee and where she is. It’s not an option anymore.

There were so many things that were just blatantly orchestrated wrong in the beginning.

There is a reason why there is no evidence. When evidence is never gathered or evidence is gathered and then lost that is when you don’t have any evidence.

Read more of Beth Twitty’s comments regarding the new searches and the direction that the case is proceeding in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Julie: Mai, what’s the very latest and why are they going to question some of Natalee’s friends after this investigation has been going on for so long?

Mai: Julie, the very latest is they are focusing on the water off the coast of the Marriott beach. The same beach where Joran says he left Natalee the night she went missing. It is also located near the fishermen’s huts where of course in the beginning there were a lot of unofficial reports of a bait cage that was taken from one of these fishermen huts when they were broken into. Police say they do not have an official report of that, but they want to exclude it as a piece of evidence in this case. So they have the dive teams concentrating about 5 miles off the coast looking to see if there is in fact a bait cage that might be in the water. They picked 5 miles based on the amount of time that has passed and current patterns. Now police are interested in talking to Natalee’s friends because they say in the beginning of the case there were a lot of blanks that weren’t filled in. They don’t know if this is because investigators were being delicate because of the family’s involvement. But they want to talk to some of these friends and fill in some of these blanks because they think some of the students who were on the trip and actually at C&C that night with Natalee might have some information that they don’t realize could be helpful to the authorities.

Julie: This very latest of this fishermen’s hut and the knife that was taken out of there. Now they want to talk to you again, apparently. What’s going on and why are these developments happening? Every time we revisit this case, it seems something else is being revisited and is the investigation going in the right direction at this point or what?

Beth: Well Julie I think that Aruba realizes they don’t have any choice but to solve this case. They have to find out what happened to Natalee and where she is. It’s not an option anymore. Of course, we are doing some really big searches in the water. We have organized several different groups. As a matter of fact, I was just on the phone yesterday with another dive team. Part of them were flying down today. It’s taking a lot of time away from these men’s families and their jobs. Everybody is doing this last push effort to see if we can’t find out what happened. So I hope this water area is truly warranted for all these searches that will be going on.

Dave Holloway and Equesearch went to Aruba last week to search the landfill, Deputy Chief Dompig, told them to search in the water. That’s a good sign to me that she is in the landfill, I wouldn’t trust anyone there to tell me where to search, however because the Aruban Government knows where Natalee is, they will only give them a permit to search where they know Natalee is not.

It’s my opinion that Beth and Jug Twitty; Dave Holloway and members of the Holloway-Twitty family have done an excellent job in their search for answers; their unyielding effort to try and find their daughter Natalee. None of this would have been possible without their cry for help. Score A+++

It’s my opinion that Beth and Jug Twitty; Dave Holloway and members of the Holloway-Twitty family realize that the citizens of Aruba; the U.S. and the world whom have watched this case from the beginning and contributed much of their personal time and financial resources to help support, search for answers and continue to help the search for Natalee Holloway have been a tremendous help. Score A++

It’s my opinion that Beth and Jug Twitty; Dave Holloway and members of the Holloway-Twitty family realize that the many private and public companies whom have provided a great deal of support with their resources to help the search for Natalee Holloway have been a tremendous help. Score A++

It’s my opinion that Beth and Jug Twitty; Dave Holloway and members of the Holloway-Twitty family realize that without the main stream media news stations and magazines that have provided a great deal of support with their coverage of the case has been fantastic. They may agree and disagree as to how it may have been handled; but there is no public or private news company that will invest large sums of money to support anyones cause or concern without some recognition or profit on their part. Likewise, any ordinary business anywhere in the world is not going to open their shop and provide their services at or below cost just so you and I get what we want in life. Nothing in life is free – for the main stream media news stations and magazines. Score B.

It’s my opinion that there is an obvious line drawn between the appointed officials of the Aruban gov’t and the citizens of the Aruba. I’m glad I live in our democratic country called the United States of America. You do not see many people fighting to live in Aruba or trying become Aruban citizens – that’s because its not a democratic society and there are no elected officals whom work for the citizens. It’s a country where the selected gov’t officials have their own rules and dictate their needs and desires to the general public by intimadation and condemnation – that’s apparent on the Aruba.com message board and on the Aruban Task Force Committee web site. Score C

It’s my opinion that many travelers will continue to travel there thinking this was an isolated case and many other travelers who will not no longer travel there because of how the case was handled by the Aruban gov’t. Partially because of the Natalee Holloway disappearance, but more importantly they now realize how the gov’t of Aruba treated the case and the family; it’s very easy to visualize the effects it could have on oneself – devasting and not worth the risk. I do know many gov’t officials from other countries have watched tradegy with a squinted eye as to how this case was handled and do have some reservations as to how the Aruban gov’t behaves.

And last to ScaredMonkeys.com web-site whom have behaved and handled themselves in a most mature and honest manner and stayed the course with honest reporting. I’m certain Beth and Jug Twitty; Dave Holloway and members of the Holloway-Twitty family greatly appreciated your support. Score A++.

I pray regularly for Natalee and the Holloway-Twitty family and the good citizens of Aruba that you may have closure in this case soon.

Bet Twitty sure is cocky – “not an option anymore”. I hate to inform her, but plenty of cases go unsolved! Just because SHE wants it solved – everyone is supposed to keep doing whatever it is that they have been doing and solve the case. Why doesn’t she let Natalee’s friends tell more than she’s letting them. Whenever it comes down to what she doesn’t want told – she blames Deepak or Joran again for something else.

    5. Model 1873 on October 25th, 2005 11:56 am

Sounds to me what Beth is actually saying is, “This is ALE’s last chance to come clean and start conducting an honest investigation before I get there on Nov.1 and bring all Hell with me”

“There is a reason why there is no evidence. When evidence is never gathered or evidence is gathered and then lost that is when you don’t have any evidence.”

So, is Beth actually admitting there is no evidence against these boys? Cause wow, that would be a first!

Is is possible there is no evidence because none ever existed against them and they’re looking at the wrong people and places?

      DELUSIONAL …

Marci, you said “That’s a good sign to me that she is in the landfill, I wouldn’t trust anyone there to tell me where to search, however because the Aruban Government knows where Natalee is.”

That is an extremely bold statement …

I’m not sure if anyone else is interested, but I would SURE like to hear some proof from you regaing this statement.

I think this statement is just more proof that the media has done a great job twisting the facts with their own biased opinions … why do so many people not think for themselves and believe everything they hear on tabloid shows?

    9. truth of it all on October 26th, 2005 10:37 am

      I supported the family 100%. Then, something happened. I woke up and saw that Beth is a bully. She is basically saying that there is not enough evidence, but does that stop her from pinning this on those three boys? No! She won’t let the kids on the trip with Natalee talk. Why? Because they might say that she was acting like a normal 18 year old girl, out partying and drinking too much? That is my guess. “It’s not an option anymore” – get real! Why won’t any of these interviewers ask her tough questions and put here in her place? I hope she reads this. I have a comment for her. Beth – maybe the reason that these kids have not turned on each other and told the truth about Natalee is because they ARE telling the truth, and they did not kill her. Stop thinking you are always right. Just because you convinced does not make you right. And stop talking to Jossy the newspaper guy. He is a {{{edit}}}

Honestly, Jim Hanson, I don’t know why you are here. Is it just to annoy the Holloway/Twitty supporters?

    11. Linda - L.A. on October 26th, 2005 5:26 pm

I have a feeling what Beth is trying to say is…stop ignoring or putting aside what evidence Aruba is able to come up with. I don’t think she is delusional…I’d say frustrated more like it. It seems to me that for every small bit of evidence…more effort goes into disproving it rather than trying to prove its useful. Just my opinion.

While I understand the evidence needs to be proved in order to be useful…I can also see where it would be frustrating over and over to not so much have it disproved…but to be told it isn’t strong enough to be used…or doesn’t really exist…or whatever other reasons they have been given.

    12. shelby on October 26th, 2005 7:01 pm

I think Ms.Beth Twitty just loves being the center of attention,i havn’t once seen her cry or breakdown, very odd. There is no evidence of a crime, just because she says these boys are guilty doesn’t make it so,and as far as the “Tape” anyone in their right mind knows it sounded like it was edited .

      Monkey W.,

Jim said he was fed up with this weeks ago. Said he wouldn’t be back. Called us all “sheep” because we differ in opinion from him. I guess he missed us…

“The media” told me that Natalee’s body was found by authorities months ago – “the media” being video 8.

I think she is in the landfill too. Why else would they fill in the holes that were being dug up, start a fire, and then say no more searching unless we do it ourselves??? However, searching the ocean gives us something to do while we wait for this to blow over. Maybe we’ll all decide she was carried out to sea and give up.

    14. Jim Hanson on October 28th, 2005 3:21 am

Monkey wench – No I’m not here to annoy anyone … I’m a realist, and I think for myself and think objectively … you can all go ahead and believe everything you see on the tabloid shows …

And Pat … the media never told anyone her body was found … where is her body Pat? Where did the media say it was? In La La land, like your mind?

    15. Pat on October 29th, 2005 3:03 pm

      Jim:

The “media” is video 8, if you can read. She was discovered by authorities months ago, and I don’t know why “the tabloid shows” haven’t made a big deal of it, but plenty of people here have seen it and been discussing it. Perhaps it was while you threw your tantrum and went away for a while. Why don’t you do it again?

      La La La

    16. Jim Hanson on October 30th, 2005 3:39 am

Well Pat, you say her body was discovered months ago … where is her body now? Believe me, if her body was found, the tv tabloids WOULD have gone nuts over it.

Just remember Pat, Beth and Dave aren’t your parents, and Natalee isn’t your sister.

    17. Pat on October 31st, 2005 10:40 am

      Jim,

Natalee is a child of God, as you and I are as well. I hope that as time goes by that will be more important than bitter words spoken from either side because of differing opinions. I don’t wish you or anyone in Aruba ill, but as a father my heart aches for this kid and her family. I will happily addmit I could be wrong about this whole thing, in fact I HOPE I am. Perceptions of different people can be very deceiving, but always, always, our first concern should be for our fellowman.

    18. erica on October 31st, 2005 11:43 pm

doesnt anyone ever ask themselves, why was she out at that hour drinking underage with no immediate supervision. I believe in a way she put herself in dangers way. young guys usually have one thing on their minds and will sometimes go to any extent to get it. the news and her parents boast that she was so smart, well I am sorry to say she might have been book smart but did not have much common sense, which is worth a lot more than anything you could learn in any books. didnt her mom beth have a talk with her about being in a foreign country and tell her to behave herself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    19. Jim Hanson on November 1st, 2005 3:20 am

What makes you think I’m from Aruba Pat? I’m neither Aruban nor American. You still didn’t answer my question … you say they found NH’s body months ago … if this is so, why are they still looking for it as we speak?

Where did you get this false information? This is the reason that realistic people like myself, who don’t condemn people without PROOF, get ticked when they read 80% or more of these posts. The media has passed judgement on these three kids and claimed the Aruban police force and government are corrupt for the simple reason that their Judicial system is so much different than yours.

Can I ask you a queston Pat? Why is it so imortant that this case be solved, but not the other thousands of missing person cases? There are thousands upon thousands of parents out there going through the same thing the holloways are. Why is THIS case so important to you and so many others here Pat? Could it be that the media has blown this thing way out of proportion? The answer to that question is YES.

    20. Pat on November 1st, 2005 10:17 pm

      Jim,

You are welcome to look at videos 1 through 8 and draw your own conclusion, as many of us have; and there have been many differing opinions. Mine is that they found her in those videos and it has been covered up because of political corruption. I didn’t get that from TV as I rarely watch it (don’t have cable or satalite service at all). People who are interested in this case have drawn many conclusions, and perhaps some of it is wrong, but it is due to the complete information void that has occurred. Clues have been found, and it seems that when they are brought up, suddenly they disappear and nothing more is heard of it.

the other girls who claimed rape
      the shoe
      the purse with the rocks
      incomplete searches
and now the tape, to mention a few

If there was more information, perhaps there would be less speculation. While you think you are realistic, surely you can see here that you are in the minority, which leads me to wonder what your interest is in the case???

As for me, I am interested in many such cases, and I am increasingly concerned that our society in the US is seeing more and more of these things like the Behl girl and Olamide Adeyooye. It discusts me! We also have many unsolved cases in the US that bother me a lot, from Jon Benet Ramsey to Chapaquitic… they are all important, but this blog is about Natalee.

    21. Pat on November 2nd, 2005 10:07 am

      Erica,

The questions you raise are very important, and have been largely unaddressed. First, no matter what a woman’s character is, or how poor her judgement, that does not justify anyone committing a crime. However, parents need to educate their kids about the dangers of the world and help them to be in a position of safety. It doesn’t seem that the ratio of adults to kids on this trip was very high. No one is talking about why these high school seniors (they weren’t college freshmen yet) were out at that hour in such a raucus environment without adults along. Where was the moral guidance? Why was there not at least a buddy system? This situation is not unique to C & C in Aruba, it happens in Cancun, Fort Lauderdale, etc., etc. It is chonicled and promoted on MTV. Since none of these questions are even being addressed in this case, one can only hope that other adults will smarten up with regards to the safety and guidance of their kids.

    22. Jim Hanson on November 4th, 2005 4:16 am

Well Pat, perhaps Erica ordered that “Girl’s Gone Wild” set of dvds that’s sold in america, portraying american college girls in Cancun and Florida, taking their clothes off, kissing other girls … these girls are almost portrayed as america’s future porn stars. Let the school kids look at this stuff … let them see how the partying goes on in these vacation spots … alot of them want to join in the fun.

I agree that schoolkids don’t deserve to disappear … but they do every day, all over the world. It’s sad. But for all those here who have claimed that C&C’s is a den of eniquity and debauchery, order the Girl’s Gone Wild dvds and see what goes on in your own country. Stop being such hypocrites.

Pat, you and I have seen it many times here … the majority of posters here claim Aruba is corrupt … ahem .. do a little soul searching and research. The usa is corrupt. So are it’s police forces. Check up on some history.

This is a good example of the pot calling the kettle black.

    23. Bethann on November 5th, 2005 5:08 am

      Jim Hanson,
I don’t know where you are from, but you are the first reasonable voice I have seen in the 2 days i have looked on this site! This case is crazy – the aruban LE really made some mistakes in the beginning, but I don’t know that they were done that way as a ‘cover up.’ The only way that would make sense in terms of what has happened since, is if the law enforcement knows it screwed up big time and cannot admit to it and then make every effort to be straight with the family as well as the aruban people.

But now that the three boys have been declared guilty of rape, murder and destroying the body and the evidence (and convicted by the media no less) and we are hearing the lame statements of natalie’s family, I am truly beginning to wonder what world we all live in? Dave Holloway, who appears to be an honest and reasonable person, made a few remarks on Greta’s show tonight – regarding the letter the family sent to have the investigators, etc. removed from the investigation – and he explained some of the remarks in the letter. It would be pretty rotten if the police officer was offering him a ‘bribe’ to get information when he said ‘how much money do you have.’ But he said it later on, weeks later, according to Dave – and it was in a different context – he was referring to the fact that a lot of money has been spent on this investigation and how long it continues would depend on how much money the family or their ‘funds’ would remain. So who knows what he meant the first time when he asked that question. Surely, at that time, he would not have been anticipating a five month search for this girl – it was a very insensitive and unprofessional thing to say to a parent – but no one has ever come to explain what was meant. again, the media jumps all over these ‘statements’ and we never know the context.
Also, Dave said the policeman (Dennis?) kept saying ‘oh relax, she will come back – you know kids, blah blah blah. and dave was naturally shocked to hear so little concern in this matter. Well, my daughter was missing once, years ago – and guess what the police said when I reported her missing? ‘You know, 99% of the time these teens show up in a day or so…why don’t you go home and get some sleep – drinking, drugs – that’s what teenagers do’ So that reaction from the policeman was not so strange – he had no idea what was in store for himself as well as his department.
This is not to say that the boys are not guilty – or to say they are guilty – we don’t know and there is NOT enough evidence to arrest them again and put the case up for trial or whatever. And Beth should not appear so arrogant ‘ they will solve this case, they have no choice..’ what is that all about? What is she going to do? All the money she claims to have spent on the special searches – what have they found? The aruban police has practially admitted they don’t have the resources or will to keep going on this – and I’m sure they would love to just quit the case – but they keep pretending they are doing something – just for the sake of tourism – even though they should know that their inaction is making others NOT visit their island.
But, we are not in a position to tell the world how to run their law enforcement – and the sooner we stop trying to do so and trying to impose our way of handling things onto them, the faster we might see results. They could be just reacting to our arrogant attitude. Not everyone is so scared of the rath of the U.S. you know!!
anyway, enough of this ranting – Jim keep on being so logical and open-minded. And keep reminding all of us that WE do NOT Know what happened…
      at least not yet.
