Texas Equusearch and Dive Teams to Return To Aruba To search for Natalee Holloway

According to Dave Holloway on Greta Van Susteren, October 20, 2005: On The Record, Texas Equusearch and dive teams will return to Aruba to search for Natalee Holloway. Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch and Dave Holloway are presently in Aruba meeting with investigators, doing some minor searches and planning for more comprehensive ones for the near future.

Dave: Tim Miller and I searched some inland areas. We did have a group offshore operating an underwater camera from Ocean Systems, Inc. Tim and I later today started preparing today for a more intensive search starting Saturday.

TES plans to bring back to Aruba two teams with side scan sonar and ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle ), along with six members of an underwater forensic dive team. This will most likely be the Florida State forensic dive team that has previously been in Aruba performing water searches for Natalee Holloway.

Dave: Yes, it is a possibility. We met with the chief deputy yesterday and for the very first time; authorities have directed us to specific search areas. What we are planning to do is bring in two teams with side scan sonar and ROV. Along with six members of an underwater forensic dive team. Those will start arriving Saturday and Monday.

In a statement from Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch obtained by Scared Monkeys, Tim Miller stated:

Texas Equusearch is bringing in side scan sonar from two different organizations along with a forensic dive team. “We remain optimistic that we can bring Natalee home and bring closure to this case.”

It would appear that Dave Holloway and Tim Miller are not returning to the United States as originally planned due to the changing circumstances. They will be returning next week. However, this means that Dave Holloway today will be in Aruba searching for his daughter Natalee Holloway on her 19th birthday, October 21, 2005. Say a prayer for Dave and the rest of the family and a birthday wish to Natalee Holloway. No father ever needs to be doing what Dave Holloway is on their daughter’s birthday or ever. God bless.

For more of the Dave Holloway interview:

Greta: I know that today you were part of a search. Where did you search?

Dave: Tim Miller and I searched some inland areas. We did have a group offshore operating an underwater camera from Ocean Systems, Inc. Tim and I later today started preparing today for a more intensive search starting Saturday.

Greta: Let me delicately ask this question Dave. It has been since May 30th
Do you really think there could be some clues possibly preserved in the sea at this late date?

Dave: Yes, it is a possibility. We met with the chief deputy yesterday and for the very first time; authorities have directed us to specific search areas. What we are planning to do is bring in two teams with side scan sonar and ROV. Along with six members of an underwater forensic dive team. Those will start arriving Saturday and Monday.

Greta: With the action of the action of the waves and movement of the sea, maybe I don’t understand searching in water at this late date. Maybe you can help me out.
Wouldn’t the action of the waves move things so that the things you are looking for just won’t be there anymore?

Dave: Well, there is a possibility that may happen. From the information from the police dept based on what they have given us, there is a possibility it may be stationary.

It is truly sad that Dave and the rest of Natalee’s family are still searching for her nearly five months since she disappeared. I am concerned as to why Beth did not make her trip to Aruba as planned as I’ve heard there were threats made against her. I hope and pray that they will have answers soon. Happy Birthday Natalee!

Hi, this has nothing to do with the message at hand but I had a question. Is re-activation of the accounts still ongoing? I tried contacting a few of the moderators but their email addresses don’t activate from their profiles. I tried emailing Tom and didn’t receive an answer. I suppose I could try Red but all in all, I hate to bother people. I know that the notice is on the forum that re-activation is still going on but it’s been over a week now. I don’t even know what happened to spark the shut down and reactivation. Can someone email me at c@macca-l.org and let me know what happened?

I didn’t post very often but I miss being able to respond, if the need arises. I especially missed posting in the dog thread since I have 5 greyhounds. :)

      Thanks, cathicus (board ID)

      Let’s see:
We have strange videos of some kind of forensic investigation at the lighthouse.

We have holes filled in at the landfill, a fire set and blamed on outsiders and then the site is subsequently closed to outside search efforts. Oh yeah, a guy claims he saw a body dumped there, but he could just be hoping to get lucky and collect reward money.

We have a presumed “innocent” man, PVDS, who refuses to allow his property to be searched. Got something to hide Paul? Where’s your concern for the victim? (that’s kind of a basic instinct for moral people who care about their fellow man and are innocent of any crime)

We have a pond that has been searched a couple of times. They even found a shoe and a purse with rocks in it (what ever happened to them). Yet this pond has never been completely drained.

This is a shell game, forever searching, but never allowing things to go far enough to rule a place out. Now we have a new place to search, a specific place. If her body is not found should they assume it has been swept out to sea and go home? No body, no crime.

It appears that both the overtures of new investigation (due to Deepak’s tape), and this new search advise, are designed to make the American public feel like something is being done. They are still more interested in tourism $$$ than justice. I wonder what new information has turned up this search site, and if they have had a suspicion about the area, why they waited for Dave and TES to come to them instead of calling for help?

      Same song, next verse.

Aruba, the whole world is watching…

I would hope that some of these new inland searches would include the mine shafts at the Balashi gold mine ruins which are less than a mile and one half away from MONTANA.

So much (at least on other blogs) has been made of Beth not returning to Aruba and they are saying if she cared about her daughter she would. I wonder if these people haven’t stopped to realize that it could just be Beth had a chance to take a breath and has let some of her grief out. How much can she really stand after all?

I’m so sorry to the entire family for what you are going through but especially to Beth. There is a bond between mothers and daughters. Even while we tend to disagree with our mothers…the bond remains. Beth has lost not only her daughter but a best friend…and I am so sorry for that.

I just can’t bring myself to say Happy Birthday to Natalee…the word Happy just doesn’t seem appropriate. Instead I’ll say…we are thinking of you Natalee…and you are in our prayers.

    13. Marci on October 22nd, 2005 12:38 pm

      I absolutely agree with Pat.

    14. micah on October 22nd, 2005 1:38 pm

Pat: You made EXCELLENT points! Why wouldn’t an innocent person allow their property to be searched? Perhaps Paulus is afraid evidence would be “planted” on his property during the search? But you brought up some really interesting points than when examined–point to a cover-up!

    15. Marci on October 22nd, 2005 2:20 pm

I would like to add this to Pat’s comment. What happened to the young 16 year old girl who came forward in Aruba that accused Joran of druging her and raping her. I heard they couldn’t reveal her name or any information because she is a minor. There were others with similar accuasations. I haven’t heard anything about that since Katrina happened. Just another part of the cover up. Were they paid off by the government? I feel they will continue to take all the evidence they find and destroy it.

    18. monkey wench on October 24th, 2005 4:08 pm

I can not imagine having to endure what Beth, Dave and Tug have had to. I admire all of them for their strength through all of this. They each deal with things a little bit differently, but all with class. I am sure Natalee was a classy girl as well. I’m sorry she didn’t get to celebrate her 19th birthday with her friends and loved ones and hope that all the answers are provided to her family before her next birthday.

    19. marianne on October 28th, 2005 2:56 pm

I think everyone is searching in the wrong area. Lets get with it. Checkout the well. I understand that the accusers Family has a wellin the backof their house. why hasn’t anyone looked at that? Would that not be an obvious way of disposing a body? I feel like they always looke din the wrong place.
