hello Jane! yeah, seems like BOstonnians and Mainers all love aruba and go back again and again- what part of maine are you from? Isnt this the worst? I feel for the islanders and the family of the girl… but aruba has been slowly changing… we used to feed the goats, now down town is like canccun or something…

    3. Phil on June 9th, 2005 8:29 am

      Here is one theory

Natelee hooks up the Judge’s son at C&C…she goes with them willing (why did she have to be drugged – after all reports have her smiling at her friends). She probably expected to get some alone time with the Judge’s son. He claims they did…

Then things get out of hand – the other guys want to get involved – she resists and it becomes violent.

This chain of events is straight forward and very pausable…why they let the three off in the first place (short of a mystery survelience camera shot of them getting out of their car) seems very irresponsible. Some seem to think power & influence are only US traits – give me a break. Why not tell me only US men pick up women in bars for a little sex on the beach.

Oh…one report say now the police will search they homes…ten days later…very good police work if that is the case. Maybe the bloody clothes are still in the hamper!!!

    4. just another guy on June 9th, 2005 8:36 am

Soon those 3 will turn on each other, just like the movies.

    5. Duck from Dallas on June 9th, 2005 8:40 am

I wonder what if anything they have on these guys other than their own statements placing themselves with the missing girl?

    6. Phil on June 9th, 2005 8:41 am

Maybe Clint Eastwood could put alittle “Dirty Harry” move on them

    7. Phil on June 9th, 2005 8:42 am

Duck – weren’t these three seen with her at C&C?

    8. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 8:44 am

pretty true phil- whats left for evidence now- especially if he went to DADDY and sked him what to do, i hope this is alot more simple- but if the boys were paid to reel girls in and then they were passed off to a bigger fish, that just creeps me out, maybe judges son got himself involved in something he couldnt get out of… there are so many theorys, i mean the 3 guys are definately guilty, and i think the two men are as well- unfortunately i think this may be bigger than we think, i wonder if the FBU are checking websites for white slavery and all that crap? My friends in aruba said the venezualans HATE americans…

    9. Bill on June 9th, 2005 8:45 am

It’s about time, and possibly brought about by pressure from the Arubans. I remember the young man Greta interviewed last night (can’t recall his name, but he was the guy with the big star on his tee shirt) was certainly calling for a closer look at these three. One gets the feeling he’s not alone.

    10. Duck from Dallas on June 9th, 2005 8:45 am

That is the story. I don’t know Dutch law but you have to wonder if they have anything at all other than they were with the girl. Maybe they have found something. Or maybe they have decided they will eventually turn on eachother to save their own hides. I wonder if the defendant has the Right to remain silent?

    11. Jane Doe on June 9th, 2005 8:45 am

Near Portland, Marie! I’m still praying that Natalee is alive and will be found soon. I can even imagine what her family is going through. Let’s hope these three young men finally talk.

    12. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 8:47 am

you would think if they had anything on them then they would have kept them in custodody intiially, right? unless daddy got him out of it then it was too much for even him w/ all of the pressure …

    13. Duck from Dallas on June 9th, 2005 8:52 am

I have a hard time believing these 3 were into providing girls for human slavery given their age, status, and likely wealth they seem much more like typical boys trying to get lucky.

    14. just another guy on June 9th, 2005 8:52 am

i smell that daddy has a stink somewhere.

    15. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 8:53 am

      Camden here Jane!
I do feel badly for these kind arubians, but i think that they have been sweeping it under the rug and turniong a blind eyue on the growing crime, etc for a long time now-
I think it is HUGELY infortunate that this many days has gone by, for any tracks to be covered up regardless of her wherabouts now… if the three are guilty they have had 10 days to get their stories straight and hide any evidence there may havve been???
I think there is a big, i mean BIG pappa smurf involved, i think this is bigger than people are thinking … like a drug lord or something playing some of these wild locals like puppets for drugs and or money? am i being too harsh?

    16. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 8:55 am

Hi Tom, Thanks again for your e-mail last night. Please continue to be on lookout for “EL SICKO.”

Murkier and murkier. Now 3 more arrested. On the previous thread Chris Lupo from Florida called Joran Van Der Sloot (sp?) “a f****** punk.” Is he? Anyone know something about him?

    17. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 8:57 am

yeah- they may be rich kids duck…. but from my experience rich kids get bored, and want to live in the fast lane and be wild- pretend they are something that they arent- i mean my town is FULL of little punks with their pants down low- pretending to be gangstahs from the hood… and they are dropped off evbery morning from school bu mum in her new benz… ay know? it is cool for boys to be bad these days- i cant think it is any different in aruba than anyplace else????

    18. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 8:59 am

sorry about my spell and typos MY!!! geez- im trying to do too many things at onced this mornng and I KNOW there is an audit crowd here :)

    19. Duck from Dallas on June 9th, 2005 8:59 am

It may surprise you but teenagers do lie to their parents, it doesn’t mean the father is involved at all.

    20. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 9:06 am

not necessarily involved- it is a possiblity, we do ANYTHING for our kids do we not?
Duck, by pappa i was referring to a sugar daddy of sorts, thats all…
If you dont think judge to be pulled a few strings… well? He may not have but…
ANd what parent cant tell when their kid is telling a lie?
You ahve to choose your battles with some kids>

    21. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 9:08 am

I have been saying it for quite some time now, those 3 guys needed to be arrested for kidnapping and raping her after getting her drunk, good to see that authorities also saw that.

Let’s not forget, we’re still waiting for the Carlos And Charlie’s crime joint to be shut down for promoting young women to get drunk and to behave in an inappropriate manner. Put padlocks on the doors, board up the windows, throw the management in jail, and then seize the property.

    22. Tom on June 9th, 2005 9:13 am

Got it. We understand you are not a free market market conservative, but my eyes can not take another 100 posts saying the same thing. PLEASE PLEASE do not do the same post all day today.

      Thank you

      The Management

    23. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 9:15 am

this seems to be you’re on a mission jacob- sorry to say, they are too big! you may disagree with what goes on there, but it is the supply and demand theory, if they close another one will pop open, becasue people GO there and LOVE to got here, and theyu make a lot of money- we can only hope that this makes people think TWICE about things when they go there, people think they are safe in Aruba- i would NEVER walk home in mexico or ewven the states, but aruba OF COURSE!!! It is one happy island – nobody will come to harm in aruba….you know?

    24. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 9:15 am

Huh ? A free market conservative ??? A free market conservative does not mean you favor drug deals on the street, you are very erroneous in your logic, Tom.

This Carlos And Charlie’s has had nothing but problems with years now, with many women being raped shortly after leaving that crime joint, the time has come and passed to shut that dump down.

    25. T LEARY on June 9th, 2005 9:18 am

A reposting of the same thing over and over from K***** should also be avoided. THANK YOU!!!

    26. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 9:18 am

people just need to be more careful now… there was a sensew of security for letting it all hang down in aruba- you could let your guard down you are safe, not like mexico and europe and Dc where you ahve to watch your back, pocketbook, your drink (for rufies) SAD, yes but true,

    27. CINDY on June 9th, 2005 9:19 am

    28. marie from maine on June 9th, 2005 9:20 am

    34. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 9:24 am

True Marie, but it paid off, we kept the focus on Jaron Van Punk Sloot, and now he is behind bars where he belongs for the kidnapping and attack on Natalee, even though his daddy is the Judge – daddy could not get him off this one. Now that Jaron Van Punk Sloot is in jail for his actions, we can concentrate more on the Carlos And Charlie’s crime joint, which have employees that egg on young people to drink and dance too much, and which serve drinks which are far too strong.

    35. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:24 am

    36. BJ on June 9th, 2005 9:26 am

      I don’t blame the establishment C&C.
Obviously there is a market for this type of environment.

    37. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:27 am

TRUE, MARIE – but you need to blame the perps. Timothy Leary the acid dropper just started with me, I did NOT “START” WITH HIM. Get it?

      Cindy just bashed Jill.

So, you sick of this shit? Put the blame where it belongs so far – on Timmy and Cindy.

    38. Red on June 9th, 2005 9:28 am

It is 9:26 in the AM, It is too early to have to put people in time out.

Talk about the topic, not each other …

Do you realize how many people are reading these comments?

      PLAY NICE.

    39. TJ on June 9th, 2005 9:29 am

kortnie please get a room with jill and allow us to talk about the situation in aruba.
      Thank you
      I hop you understand
This board is not about YOU!
If I am mistaken please let me know RED and TOM.
If I’m right would you please police KORTNIE.
      thanks in advance.

    40. Former Sheriff's Deputy on June 9th, 2005 9:30 am

Lets not forget — her parents made the decision to let her go on a drinking vacation (Bingo!). The chaperons did not have a handle on the situation (Bingo!). Natalee was a drinking fool at an age where she could only dink lemonade in the good old US of A (Bingo!). Natalee’s 100+ friends attending this drinking party could not be bothered to keep her out of harms way (Bingo!).

This situation would be laughable if it wan’t tragic! (Bingo!)

    41. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:30 am

Hi, Red. There are SPECIFIC people here who “start” w/others – not everyone.

Therefore, please put the blame WHERE it belongs this morning – on TIMOTHY LEARY (!) and Cindy.

    42. Duck from Dallas on June 9th, 2005 9:30 am

Jacob have you seen the move footloose?

    43. Sam Lesterson on June 9th, 2005 9:32 am

I agree with Former Sheriff’s Deputy!

    44. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:32 am

      You have some nerve, TJ!

I did not start anything. How dare you make a sexual reference concerning me and Jill? You are a f’ing asshole, you know that?

    45. TJ on June 9th, 2005 9:33 am

      You win Kortnie.
      I’m leaving for another site.
      No offence Red and Tom.
      Best wishes.

    46. Sam Lesterson on June 9th, 2005 9:33 am

I too think the parents are the source for the problems Natalee encoutered!

    47. AmericaninAruba on June 9th, 2005 9:35 am

Ok I am very sad for what has happened to this gril but this case is complete caos! I no longer know what happened or could have happened! thier are like 1000000 stories! were are the chaperones?were are her friends?were is her boyfreind(ifshehadone) this is just liek a game of clue! This island is suffering for something that is not their fault!

    48. Tom on June 9th, 2005 9:36 am

If you are going to be sensitive to every possible comment and slight, we can not protect you. This is an open board about a topic and every time you insinuate something and say something snarky back, it causes another battle.

So ignore them or thicken your skin. please.

    49. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:36 am

    50. Red on June 9th, 2005 9:36 am

This is not an open thread… It is about Natalee Holloway. Keep to it.

    51. Jeff Watterson on June 9th, 2005 9:37 am

I have read all the comments. I feel that Natalee created an environment of risk for herself that was endorsed by her parents. This girl, though academically smart, seems to be short of common sense.

If this girl returns, which lets face it, is very unlikely, she will need therapy. Drinking it up and sexing it up at the age of 18 is not cool.

I too agree with the Former Sheriff’s Deputy

    52. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 9:37 am

Day #11 : and we are still waiting for a padlock to be placed on the front doors of the Carlos and Charlie’s crime joint which encourages young girls to drink too much and expose themselves, which we have picture proof of, here are 2 interior pictures of the crime joint :

      Picture 1 :

      Picture 2 :

Here is another profile webpage that Jaron Van Punk Sloot has of himself :*naQjOKK!*DVyALfe8Ib0t9s1yYCkjrShrDUzDDM7HBilK*qj

    53. Jeff Watterson on June 9th, 2005 9:37 am

Red, shut your mouth. No one made you boss. People should be able to say what they want. This is America.

    54. Amy Anderson on June 9th, 2005 9:39 am

I agree with Jeff Watterson. I think Natalee created her own mess!

    55. Red on June 9th, 2005 9:40 am

      Obey the rules

    56. BJ on June 9th, 2005 9:40 am

‘Drinking and sexing it up” has taken it’s toll,,again.

    57. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:40 am

Right, Tom, thanks. And I see that it’s not happening to you. I hardly think you would “ignore” if you were being verbally attacked. It’s not “insinuating,” — it’s right out there. It’s OK for someone named “TJ” to make a crummy and sexist sexual reference to women on this board? That stinks.

    58. Tom on June 9th, 2005 9:41 am

This is america, and you are in our house. We can throw you out of our house any time we like because this is our property. Remember that. And do not be rude to us in our house, got it?

    59. Freddie on June 9th, 2005 9:41 am

Can someane post the link to the site with thenaked pics of Natalee Hollowa?

      espeically any hinny shots!

    60. AmericaninAruba on June 9th, 2005 9:41 am

I am very disappointed with the Fox NEws channel how they are portraying our island! a sex trade island?? Are you crazy?? I have lived here for 9 years now… have NO IDEA how proud these people are of their families and coutnry! jsut like americans!Ofcourse their are a couple that arent as “proud” of themselves as others….but you will never see one arubian girl as a prostitute….so sex trade is not an option here…..yes their is legal prostitution but in a secluded area of the island and all the women are either colombian or venezuelan….so this is just scandelous fo rhte island and its nothing like that!

    61. Jill Berg on June 9th, 2005 9:42 am

Natalee’s hormones were a blazing. She seems like she was as loose as a goose.

      Her parents seem like nuts.

    62. AmericaninAruba on June 9th, 2005 9:43 am

This is a situtation were a girl that probably the 1st time drinking, 1st time clubbing, 1st time without parental control…things she wouyld NEVER do in alabama!

    63. Tom on June 9th, 2005 9:43 am

This is the last warning. We will turn the comments off if this continues. Family and Friends of Natalee are reading this site and we do not need garbage. A lot of great information has come out of these discussions, some of which is probably impacting the investigation.

However, we are not a chat room. And we do not need to have this personal garbage going on.

    64. BJ on June 9th, 2005 9:44 am

      She is a teenager.
It is natural for her hormones to be blazing.
Sex is one thing….murder is another.

    65. Kortnie on June 9th, 2005 9:44 am

See Tom, you just got attacked and you HARDLY “ignored” it! Oh, just ignore and develop a thicker skin! What a hypocrite!

    66. AmericaninAruba on June 9th, 2005 9:44 am

These guys from Fox NEws im tellign you are slugs! really have no f*cking idea what their talking about….i bet theyve never been here and are just exagertaing stories! I tell you the american ppress is the worst shit!

    67. Jeff Watterson on June 9th, 2005 9:45 am

Your house is out of control!!!!!!

I can spoof my IP address. Go see if you can kick me off!

You might be able to erase my posts, but that is it. I’ll post under different names.

You are and old goof ball.

    68. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 9:46 am

Exactly AmericanInAruba, her 1st time drinking, 1st time clubbing… and it all happened at the Carlos And Charlie’s crime joint, which we have proof serves drinks too strong, and which we have proof of that their employees encourage young girls to drink too much and expose themselves, and they condone the behavior in these 2 pictures :

      Picture 1 :

      Picture 2 :

A solution to this problem is to slap a padlock on that dump Carlos And Charlie’s, throw the management in jail – slap them with charges of being accessories to kidnapping and murder, and seize their property. Time to take off the kid gloves and treat these dump establishments severely.

    69. Tom on June 9th, 2005 9:46 am

      Kortnie et al,

I could care less about personal attacks, I am talking about the demeanor of the site. We are shutting it down , may reopen later, but I think we hit the point of no return,

    76. SS on June 9th, 2005 4:24 pm

Yes, it is very sad. A young woman is missing, we need to keep the focus on her. How can we expect world peace when we can’t even get along with our neighbours and the people on this site. It’s a shame.

      Timmie & SS –
keep in mind there are also a lot of worried, good people that having been posting on this site- Another Father, Juanit, Ms. Trinie, Red, and Tom and we have all winced at the vitrol that some people have enjoyed spewing. Please keep the good in mind and don’t let the trolls get you down.

      We’re all praying……,

    80. Quart Knee on June 9th, 2005 4:30 pm

Except, maybe, for those of us who don’t pray.
      Those of us are HOPING.

    81. SS on June 9th, 2005 4:32 pm

We are all hoping for a happy ending. Nothing would please us more. It’s strange how someone can disappear so quickly in this instance, as well as other instances. You really wonder what the heck happened. It’s frightening.

    82. Pam on June 9th, 2005 4:33 pm

      To Jim:

It is true that people make mistakes. However, there is no room for mistakes when it comes to a child’s life. I think the chaperones were negligent, and so were the “friends” who let her walk out of that club with 3 men. Period.

I have noticed that every story involving abuse on the island of Aruba has a consistent theme: young women befriending locals. When did parents stop teaching their children NOT to talk to strangers? That is also a mistake for which there is no excuse. It may be inconvenient, but the safety of our children should be a priority at all times. The world is too crazy to live like we did in the 50′s. Trust is gone. We have to live accordingly.

    83. timmie on June 9th, 2005 4:34 pm

      mrs red
I know there are god people posting in this site.I have been so down the last few days,I know natalee ,she is so sweet , we are teens and sometimes naive

      quart do u pray?

    85. SS on June 9th, 2005 4:37 pm

      Mrs. Red,

Yes, there have been some absolutely wonderful people! I enjoyed hearing from Another Father..he is a wonderful concerned father, of I believe 2 girls himself, so it really hit home for him.

    86. Jane Doe on June 9th, 2005 4:38 pm

It is sad and I’m sure that all people are hoping that Natalee will be found and that those responsible will be punished.

It’s impossible to keep people from speculating, Timmie, it’s what people do. It’s talking about the good and bad that help us learn. It’s discussions (good and bad) that help us to not have the same thing happen again. If we don’t talk about what we feel, what we believe could have happened, we can easily make the same mistakes as others.

And remember, having the freedom to speak one’s mind is something we all share with each other. Your right to say you don’t like what others say, is protected as much as their right to say what you don’t like to hear.

When I read sites like this, I read the posts I want and disregard the rude, obnoxious individuals. After a while, you’ll learn who the people are that you want to read and who those are that you will just want to pass over. :)

In the meantime, my thoughts are with Natalee, her family, friends and all of us who are hoping for the best.

    87. Danielle Wilt on June 9th, 2005 5:36 pm

I feel for Natalee’s family & friends & I pray that they find her & can put this to rest. i hope that the people who are responsible for this will be held accountable.

    88. Yellow Ribbon on June 9th, 2005 5:48 pm

It sounds like you also may be a classmate of Natalee. I have been disappointed at the personal attacks that I have read here, too. There were some very good posts here a day or two ago before things got out of control, particularly from Natalee’s friend WOIMB. There was also a nice post from someone who knows Natalee’s mom because Beth had worked with his/her son.

I live in Mtn. Brook and I picked the name Yellow Ribbon because, as you probably know, every other mailbox here has been decorated with one since Natalee vanished. It is an emotional experience just to drive to work in the morning. It is almost like the way that American Flags came out everywhere after 9-11.

For everyone who is second guessing the parents, chaperons and friends, there is no question that they are also second guessing themselves. I can also assure you that it will be a long time before any of the kids from Mtn. Brook or the other schools in Birmingham take a trip like this. Timmie, you may know, but it seems to me that since this was the third year this trip had been taken that the parents, chaperones and kids may have let their guard down a little. What do you think?

In any case, I know that Natalee’s family is not interested in any of that right now. Her mom went to Aruba the very day she found out about Natalee’s disappearance and she is totally focused on finding her girl. Let’s pray that she does.

I have to thank everyone for the change in tone on the board. It got out of hand, and for that I apologize, but the turnaround is wonderful and appreciated.

thank you and pray for Natalee

      Yellow Ribbon

We have devoted time to this because we think its important. Unfortunately not everyone is going to have something positive to say. Just like everything in life. We have received many personal emails from both AL and Aruba that are amazing. Then of course we have to deal with some of the stuff you are referencing.

This should never be not about Natalee. As I just witnessed in a press conference from Aruba it is not all about her. However, it is what you make of it and your words were perfect. It is not the blame game time that will come in all due time. However, as anyone knows who has blamed themselves for something that has happened in their lives, the guilt one lives with is worse than anyone could ever say.

It is hard to imagine that they have not find Natalee on such a small island, nothing not a trace. It does provide hope that she is still out there.

The people, family & friends are more than welcome to email us as some have already done if they do not wish to comment for all to see. We are thinking about doing a post on that very thing. We have sent emails of encouragement to the family and hope that this has a safe and happy outcome.

My prayers are with Natalee and her family…

To all of the parents out there who are kind enough to read this: Please consider why you would allow your 18 year old child (and that is what they still are no matter how “mature” they may seem) to travel abroad without you. I am just not understanding why we as parents think these kinds of extravagant trips are necessary for a high school grad celebration. This crime could have been prevented. Instead of looking back fondly at their high school graduation, all of these kids are dealing with a horrible tragedy.

    96. Just Wondering on June 9th, 2005 6:14 pm

You know your recap of the press conference mentioned that they are working with SA officials. This gives me hope too that she is alive, although maybe a victim of “human traficking”. It would explain why there is NO trace of her on Aruba so far.
It would be a long psychological road back if she is found and that is the case.

Elizabeth Smart seemed to be recovering from a similar fate when they had her on some Dateline or some other type show.

Of all people, posted some photos of the boy that seems the most culpable of the 3….the judge or soon-to-be-judge’s son. One of them showed him with a dog leash around the throat (Abu Ghraib-like). I guess it was supposed to be funny.
But that kind of humor is pretty off center and cruel.

The need for drug money that he cannot ask Dad for could explain a lot, if that is the case.

    97. Larry on June 9th, 2005 6:27 pm

The three with whom she left the C&C club. If only one of them had sex with her, then why did the other two go along? And, if she wasn’t drunk when she left the club and was falling down when they allegedly dropped her off at her hotel, then what happened in the mean time? Lots of unanswered questions.

Hi, I’m back! The latest I have is that around 2:45pm yesterday Natalee has been seen at a gasoline station in Oranjestad and she was caught on the video surveillance tape at the gasoline station. The police of Aruba are currently verifying this. So we can’t conclude anything yet but workers at the gasoline station are sure that this is Natalee. But we again we can’t conclude on anything.

    99. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 7:08 pm

Okay, the dutch boy Van Stupid just got hammered on FNC, they flashed up his car license plate, showed his car being impounded by a flat-bed tow truck, showed the punk Van Stupid entering police headquarters with a towel on his head, he is facing the music now, along with his 2 friends.

I find it hard to believe that Natalee could be at a gasoline station and no one would report it right away.

    101. Another Father on June 9th, 2005 7:12 pm

Hello, group, and sorry to have to read some of the trash posted here, tho’, by and large, the commentary here has been far better than that I saw on some of the other blogsites. And, actually, “SS”, it’s 3 daughters, finally out of their teens (can I relax now?), one beauty queen, one professional model, one professional show dancer – trust me, not kids you want to go on tropical vacations with if you intend to relax. I don’t know how many beach towels I’ve had to throw over thong-clad butts, but it’s plenty.

We took our girls to tons of tropical resorts, throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, and we have watched places that, at one time, were pretty safe (no place is absolutely safe) become increasingly more dangerous. It’s not the fault, necessarily, of the tourists or of the host countries, it’s the consequence of increasing opportunity for harm following the herd. I’m afraid Aruba is just one more destination that is about to experience that unfortunate phenomenon.

One thing that I have noticed – and this is something of which I’ve had some personal experience – is that, in virtually everyone of these “go to” establishments (be it “Senor Frog’s” or “Carlo’s and Charlie’s” or “Squid Roe” or any other popular party spot), you will find at least one prominently placed table, hosting a very slick, well turned out, obviously well heeled, and, if you get any background on him, invariably well connected young man, along with his posse. These guys are completely on the make and one gets the sense that they are used to living in cultures where their wealth and status totally immunize them. These guys are the ones the one Aruban young lady, who was on here earlier, wrote about, who basically can get away with victimizing the locals because their family position protects them. Increasingly, it seems to me, over the last decade or so, they’ve also figured out that the tourist girls are just as vulnerable. Befriend them and then take them off to do what you want. So they get raped. They go home and they blame themselves and they hide their victimization and these guys can continue as before. And I think the level of arrogance is such that, if the girl shows any resistance or likelihood of telling or fighting back, they’re not above harming her or, as is seemingly the case with Amy Bradley, selling her to a ready market for women.

I may be completely guilty of misjudging the young Dutch gentleman, but everything about him, including the rapidity with which he was initially cleared as a suspect (in favor of a couple unemployed security guards), says that he’s of this ilk. If so, then the indignation of the Aruban people and the fact that Ms. Holloway’s family, too, had some influence, may have foiled their plan.

Please note that these are opinions. I’m as dependent on hearsay for my facts as the rest of you. I just know I was gratified that the Aruban authorities decided to take a second look at these three.

    102. Pays Bas on June 9th, 2005 7:23 pm

Another father, there your wrong. They were released because they were witnesses in this case. The police just took their statements, compared them with each other and at first found no evidence that they were involved in the dissaperance of this girl. The were never charged with anything so in the dutch justice system they are not cleared of anything. You must remember that at that point in time there was not enough evidence of foul play to keep them in custody.

It’s very hard to believe that Joran could do something like this. Again, the family is very nice.

When a neighbor of a murderer says, “he was such a good all american boy”, I realize.. we never really KNOW anyone. It would seem, that given certian circumstances, anyone is capable of anything. Sometimes our biggest weakness is assumptions and think we know what others will or will not do.

      Never say never! :(

    106. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 7:37 pm

Joran Andreas Petrus Van Der Sloot can’t believe the mess he is in, FBI is after him, Aruba police, international authorities, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Alabama Gov. Bob Riley and Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, they’re all over this case and I have been on this case myself for quite some time now. I was expecting these 3 punks to be thrown in jail for quite some time now.

Satish Kalpoe, born July 30, 1986, and Deepak Kalpoe, born Oct. 6, 1983 better start talking, there is no time to play games with those two punks either. I would say give those two punks a week to talk, if they do not talk, then execute them in the center of Aruba, that will send a message to all the punks on the island of Aruba that the USA is coming to clean up the mess down there and put an end to that big drug-smuggling country. If there is one thing I don’t take, it’s crap from some tiny little island nation that doesn’t treat people with respect.

As for the Carlos N Charlie’s management, they know that we are on to them, and we cannot let up on those punks either, they also need to be held on charges of being an accessory to numerous assaults over the years.

    107. Phil on June 9th, 2005 7:53 pm

Jane – When a neighbor of a murderer says, “he was such a good all american boy”, that when you realize they have their head in the sand!!!

90 percent of opinion is placed on looks not actions…this kid doesn’t seem All-American to me by any stretch…hanging out in bars looking to use women for his pleasure…nice kid??? Not in my book.

We needed to get people to recognize good people because they help others and try to improve the world around them…not because they look good…

    108. Another Father on June 9th, 2005 7:54 pm

As I said, “ArubaninUS”, I do not know Mr. Van der Sloot. I do know that a young woman, billing herself as “Friend of Mickey” (apparently Mickey Jones, one of the arrested security guards), was just as passionate in defending him on the basis that this was just not something he would do. I also know that the last person seen with Ms. Holloway, by any independent witness, was Mr. Van der Sloot. Nobody (aside, perhaps, from Mr. Van der Sloot) claims to have seen Mickey Jones with her. Nonetheless, under Dutch and Aruban law, they did, in fact, detain the two security guards, at the time of their initial questioning, but they did not detain Mr. Van der Sloot or his companions. That may be totally justified, given what was said and what the Aruban authorities may know. From an American perspective, it looked fishy and, as noted, I’m glad the issue is being revisited.

There are a multitude of possibilities here, including that she ran off, that she died accidentally, that some unknown person abducted her after she returned to the hotel, even that she was returned to the wrong hotel and wandered into trouble. I do know that standard police procedure is to work from the last known contact and, in this case, that is Mr. Van der Sloot. Personally, I hope he’s innocent and that the guards are innocent and, in fact, that there has been no crime. Those are not sanguine hopes after 10 days and this much effort and publicity.

That’s right Joran, that is on the back of your gray Honda, the one you put Altezza euro taillights on and special rims and body ground effects, that was impounded today by a yellow Ford flat-bed, I am all over every part of this case Joran, I know more about what happened at your house today than you do. When you put that towel over your head this morning and were stuffed in the back of the cop car – I saw that also you punk Joran, I saw everything today. Don’t worry Marie, I have new evidence I just ascertained within the past 15 minutes.

Also, women in Boston are now saying they saw Natalee in the womens bathroom at the CnC Restaurant crime joint, and that Natalee was acting as if she was sick in the bathroom or that she was acting somewhat strange.

I cannot wait until we get the results back from the FBI forensics team from the inside of that Honda car, I am on pins and needles waiting for these results.

I do not think Joran will be sleeping too well tonight in jail… he knows the FBI, international media, and a person by the name of Jacob are all onto him and his anti-social and criminal behavior.

    112. Aruban in US on June 9th, 2005 8:22 pm

Again, the girl left C&C on her own, while 20 other classmates were there with her. If she knew better she would have never left with strangers, having 20 classmates there that asked her if she wanted to leave with them, she said no.
People said that they have seen her near a gas station, those are just speculations.
      I just hope she’s safe.

    113. Jacob on June 9th, 2005 8:28 pm

If she knew better, she would have never gone to that dump CnC Restaurant to begin with. That place has been breeding crime for years now, and we know that is a FACT, I did source that last night, in part 3 of this internet site discussion.

If she was drugged or served alcohol too strong, she may have exited the restaurant with those 3 punks by herself, but she was not in the full mental capacity to know what her actions were, and there seems to be more weight given to that possibility now knowing how Aruba is such a large drug-smuggling nation and how CnC serves their drinks so strong and how she was acting sick or in distress in the womens bathroom, as verified by a pair of women in Boston who just came back from a vacation in Aruba.

Things are not looking good for this Joran character, innocent people do not put towels over their head – unless they are stepping out of the shower.

    114. Phil on June 9th, 2005 8:41 pm

Ms. Jones just played the race card…I have been waiting for that…she says the police was very rough on her when she wanted to find out about her son at the police station.

I fear that if this Carlos N Charlie’s crime ring restaurant is not shut down, that we will be hearing of more abductions and assaults in the coming years, CnC is the breeding ground for all the parasites in Aruba that enjoy preying on young women and serving them alcohol that is far too strong.

RE: Drowning, the hotel side of island is very calm. Furthermore, if leaving the next day, don’t you think Natalee was packed and ready to go. We were there and were just ready to go home. People usually partied out and just want to get home.

Could any of suspects have ties to someone higher up? Who wanted a caucasian female in repayment for a debt or political blackmail?? (Judge) If so, the female would be wanted alive. No logical reason for intentionally killing girl.
Believe she is alive. Pray. Don’t trust the news. May be time for professional interrogators to be requested to politely question suspects and or polygraphs.

    119. Another Father on June 9th, 2005 9:13 pm

“You don’t need to know…”: I have a very high I.Q. I can’t, however, say I never did anything stupid and the level of the stupidity I was able to display at 18 was pretty amazing. There is no question that parents, chaperones, kids, friends, whatever – literally everyone involved in this thing -broke a lot of rules and showed a lot less sense than should have been common. And to some extent, it is comforting to say, “well, she was stupid, she brought it on herself”, but nobody intends bad things to happen and, regrettably, most people don’t plan on or in case bad things happen.

I am totally distraught over this whole thing. I feel for the parents. I blame the parents. I feel for Natalee. I blame Natalee. That kind of ambivalent reaction is to be expected. But I also perceive that MAYBE some good might come out of this. Maybe some parents, who think that it’s okay to uncork their 18 year old’s hormones and send him/her off to a tropical resort with a low drinking age and no dress code will reconsider. AND, maybe some kid who thinks that it can’t happen to him or her or here will rethink that proposition. AND maybe some chaperone who thinks that herding 124 kids is a party gig will take things a little more seriously. AND maybe some kids who might have ignored their friend getting culled from the herd will speak up and pull her back.

Yeah, part of me just wants to b***h slap everyone involved, but that isn’t going to help, so I’m going to concentrate on hoping that, against all odds, she is okay, and I’m going to hope that there might be a silver lining to the cloud if it avoids similar problems in the future.

This is not to blame Natalee…I feel no need to place any blame except on those who did anything to her. But everyone should be aware that losing control (via drugs or alcohol) and getting in a car with someone you do not know – is equal to playing Russian roulette with a load gun…

The tone is much nicer. Thanks guys and girls.

Regarding them letting the three guys go because they had no probable cause at first. Huh? Three guys state they took Natalee there to have sex with her and then dropped her off at the hotel. Who would believe this girl would go for sex with three strangers to risk pregnancy, disease, etc. then there is the issue of the hotel surveillance indicating they were lieing about dropping her off. That would be enough probable cause for me.

Larry brings up an excellent point concerning the puzzle as to why she wasn’t drunk when she left but drunk when they supposedly brought her back. Again, it sounds like she was drugged.

The good news is I am predicting one of these guys is going to start singing and the whereabouts of Natalee will be exposed by the end of this week. Believe me, the FBI have pros that specialize in getting someone to sing. My guess is judge boy is the leader and the most culpible. One of his puppy dogs will turn on him within the next 48 hours and the story will start coming out.

I was curious about if they had any kind of surveillance such as cameras and such were overlooking the the bay areas. To my surprise, they have a Coastal Surveillance Team. I was thinking along the lines of any boat accessability to the individuals even if they had friends that used them. First and foremost, I want to express how truly sorry I am for the Holloway family. I can’t even imagine the grief that they are going through. I will continue to pray that you find your daughter alive and bring her back home!

I visited Aruba last year for the first time and I really liked it. It was such a beautiful tranquil place. I’m afraid that this situation has altered my perception of paradise.

When I first heard that Natelee was missing and that the last place she was seen was at C&C I got a lump in my throat. What I remember the most about C&C was the numerous times I was approached to buy drugs both inside and outside of the club, how extremely STRONG the drinks were, how creepy the men were and how eerie the street was. I specifically remember people lined up on the sidewalk oustide cat calling as I walked by. Needless to say, if I ever visit Aruba again…I would NEVER go back there!

What I don’t understand is how Natalee’s friends would allow her to go off with 3 strangers! Why on earth didn’t her friends stop her!!

I read an article today about Amy Bradley who vanished while on a cruise to the Caribbean…some of the articles which talk about sightings of her in the past 7 years lead you to believe that she may have been kidnapped and used for prostitution in Venezuela or Curacao. They were told by locals and investigators that boats come in and out freely from these islands.

Makes you wonder?? Is there a possibility that she is being help captive on another island. Are they even searching elsewhere?

    132. on the rock on June 10th, 2005 12:17 am

i’m sorry that natalee is missing and i’m sorry it’s hitting the island so hard. There will be only loosers in this case. Despite of the corruption here ,i don’t believe in a cover-up. They probably let the 3 guys go on purpose. Make them feel kind of safe and then tap their phones and watch there every step. If they are involved they will crack very soon now.

Ladies out there, please stay away from these clubs for your own safety. You are not going to find a “great” guy at these types of places, in the USA or other countries. A fun night out with the girls can so quickly turn into the worst nightmare of your life, if you live through it.

Parents: wake up and quit being stupid. Don’t send your kids off alone to party for a week. Get a spine and just say no to your 4.0 honor student. When they ask you why, you tell them you’d like to be there for their college graduation. Stick with with a nice pool party and bbq at home. I am sure that is what Natalee’s mom is wishing right now. My heart goes out to her.

Interesting read (beyond the animousity of those who can’t help themselves). I just returned from Aruba. While on the island, it seemed to be all anyone talked about. At a local restaurant, a waiter took the time to reveal a bit of insight about the typical atmosphere and activities on C&C’s premises. The place is commonly known for heavy partying, sale of drugs, and ecstasy. The location is world renowned. However, it is clearly a trouble spot. If Natalee was drinking heavily, it is likely her drinks were being spiked with drugs. Yes, she’s at that young age where if most of us recall – felt invincible – and out to sow her oats. The chaperones were most likely out too busy having their own fun on the island. After all, 18-year olds should be of age to be “street-smart” and more responsible – as most do perceive.

My thought is, Natalee could be held hostage or prisoner in a vacation home – or even in a hotel room. Reason being, we forgot to remove the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door one day and no one ever disturbed the room and probably never even bothered to knock.

The other thought is, if there is in fact foul play in her disappearance, have they combed the rough water beaches yet? Or the caves? Or the tunnel of love?

Again, there’s always the possibility she elected to run away in attempt to stay on the island. After all, it is very much portrayed as paradise.

Regardless of the outcome, I pray she or her body is found. It would provide peace and closure to many involved.

Believe me that everybody in Aruba wants to see this case SOLVED.
The searches never sopped, and as far as I’m concerned, we have looked everywhere….

As for C&C, it is no different than any bar anywhere… It can be as “clean” or “dirty” as you want it to be…..

Drugs, they are everywhere unfortunately……But, there has to be a demand in order for there to be a supply……it usually works in this order and not the other way around.

I still hope we can find this girl alive……..

Hope you had a great vacation on the island

Well, the latest from the rumor mill is that (according to Mickey John’s attorney) the two security guards are likely to be released at the end of their current 8 day detention, since there is reportedly NO forensic linkage between them and Ms. Holloway, and their alibis are checking out. She is also predicting that the other 3 suspects are going to be charged (as opposed to merely detained) with multiple murder counts, including, interestingly, a “2nd degree murder count” (i.e., a charge that they’d make if their theory was that she accidentally died from a “date rape mickey/roofie” OD). Consider the source.

Rumor is that the FBI is reportedly pushing hard to nail Mr. Van der Sloot and his two friends based, in part, on the fact that the security cameras are completely contradicting their story. Word is (again, all based on rumor and innuendo and hearsay and conjecture, so take it all with a grain of salt) that their stories are also seriously eroding under questioning. The FBI is also reportedly livid that they were basically given 10 days to dispose of evidence. Nonetheless, they are reportedly incriminating themselves pretty rapidly. The Aruban police are also quite wedded to the homicide notion, tho’ on what basis, besides “Occam’s Razor”, I have no idea.

Meanwhile, one of Ms. Holloway’s schoolmates claims Ms. Holloway had known Mr. Van der Sloot most of the trip, another that she’d known him a couple of days, another that she might have “only just met him” and was just getting what she thought was a ride back to the hotel from “C&C” – in contrast to Mr. Van der Sloot’s reported representation that they were taking her to a beach and light house some distance in the opposite direction. Her friends are equally contradictory on the issue of whether or not she’d have willingly gotten into a car with 3 “strangers”, tho’ one of them claims she waved at her group when she was leaving in the car.

Altho’ it seems to be an article of faith on this board, NOBODY is confirming the supposed representation by one or all of these guys that they and Ms. Holloway had consensual sex that night. Can ANYONE give me the source of that info?

So, to “ArubaninUS”, I feel sorry, if your friend is innocent, but it is beginning to sound like he has become the #1 suspect in what the local authorities are convinced is a homicide. I also haven’t been able to find the reference to the Boston woman/women, who supposedly saw Ms. Holloway acting sick or dazed in the bathroom at “C&C”.

And that’s where we stand. Who knows what the truth of any of this is and, even if true, it raises a dozen differnt scenaros.

Maybe the morning will bring some answers. Have a good night, folks.

I hope that natalee is like the recent US runaway bride….taking off without full realization of the ramifications or consequences….I just hope she is still alive.

      Hello all,

I just came a few days ago back from Aruba after 3 weeks of vacation. And yes, i was also confronted with the missing of Natalee. I am reading lots of theory what probably could had happen with Natalee. We have to wait and see what the 3 guys have to say about this all. I also have to say that Aruba is a very safe island if I have to compare it with Curacao. I am half Aruban and I live now for almost 20 years in Holland. Believe me when I say that the authorities and the tourist industry really do everything for the American Tourists, if I have to compare it with the Dutch Tourist. Of course because there are lots of Americans going to Aruba on vacation. But i can tell you there are lots of security guards Down Town, Beach Area, to keep an eye on the Tourist. So please for those who never had been to Aruba, please keep your opinion about Aruba for yourself.

I really do hope that Natalee is alive and nothing is wrong with her. Don’t get me wrong but I think if you go out with your friends, you stick with them, which means you go home with them again. If you are a little bit a smart girl, and you met a few days ago a nice looking guy, you never go with him. Because you can’t trust nobody these days, so that’s the big mistake Natalee made. If she was drunk or not, if they put drugs in her drink or not.
And if I was Natalee’s friend I would never let her go with someone, even when she would tell me that she met her a few days ago. So, that’s also a little bit stupid of the group she went out with.

Anyway, I hope that, and I really do, that she will be found a.s.a.p. But we have to stay realistic, that the chance that she’s alive is getting each less.

Judge’s son. Why was Judge’s son “protected for 10 days”?

Son’s car very nice- doubt he would have taken it off road- a lot of island needs truck or 4X4.

Could son have went to dad (Judge) for help? Judge could have called in a favor to protect his son- i.e. my son is in trouble- if you help my son- I will go easy on sentencing in a completely unrelated case- also protect Judge’s family reputation. Just a theory.

Ms Renfro from the Aruba newspaper siad on O’Reilly that a Boston couple had seen Natalee at C&C – sick in the ladies room with her friends.

How they got her on her feet and then let her leave with strangers “if she was sick” is way beyond my comprehension…

I watch most of O’Reilly and the drug issue was not something I heard…in fact O’Reilly had very kind comments about “this is not Aruda’s fault” –

I dont man to be talking bad of anyone and their choices- it is just a theory and also a good theory of how anyone would feel INVINSIBLE- to go off with men or not to care if your friend did… everything is GREAT and BEAUTIFUL…

    151. Phil on June 10th, 2005 8:48 am

The news folks are picking up the pace on this story…I get a sense they did not want to push the story with the security guards…but the “boys” and the apparent misdirection by the police in Aruba is making it more interesting.

Joe Scarbourgh was railing on the arrest of the security guards and was given some very lame answer by a newspaper correspondent from the island. The answer was that under Danish law we need reasonable cause. JS – How did their arrest the guards then? Answer – under Danish law we need reasonable cause. JS never got an answer about the guards.

I would be very impressed if the “giving the boys sack” approach is true…but why would they not say this? It would be very easy to ease to say “We did not immediately arrest the “boys” because we wanted to keep them under surveillance,

When I was a teen, I can remember my parents telling me to only drink out of soda cans that “I” personally opened. Not to leave the can anywhere out of my sight and if I did, don’t drink from it. That was 35 years ago….

How we’ve changed since then. It may be unfortunate, but teens need to be more careful than we were back in our day. When you look at these teen trips to out of the country destinations, they mostly have “disaster waiting to happen” all over them.

I hope that Natalee is found soon. I hope that every person in the world learns something from this situation. I hope they remember what they learn, when it’s needed.

And to our children and young adults, “NO.. you are NOT invincible and it CAN happen to YOU”.

    159. Larry on June 10th, 2005 9:02 am

Let’s review the facts, as we know them. There are a number of glaring inconsistencies in the reported stories of the 3 young men. (1) Natalee’s friends claim that she was not drunk when she left the bar. But, by their own admission, the 3 claim that she was falling down drunk by the time they “returned” her to her hotel. If she was not drinking in the meantime, then she must have been drugged just before leaving, and the 3 knew that the drugs would soon be kicking in. (2) Her friends claim that she was getting a ride home, but the 3 claim that they took her to a remote beach and lighthouse, where one of them “became romantically involved” with her. (3) No one needs to bring two friends along, for a “romantic” encounter. (4) The surveillance cameras do not record Natalee entering her hotel. But the 3 claim that a “black man” escorted her inside. Did they claim to actually see him escorting her inside? (5) If, as they claim they knew this “black man” then that might explain why they felt comfortable leaving Natalee in his care. But one of the two black men identified has an alibi. And, if they didn’t know him, then why would they not escort her inside, themselves?

There was ample evidence, from the very beginning, that there were glaring inconsistencies in these young men’s stories. So, why were they released so quickly?
Did the 3 take a polygraph, when originally questioned? Or did the young Dutchman immediately call for legal help? Were they cooperative and forthcoming?

By now, they have had almost a week to coordinate their stories and to destroy evidence. The whole handling of this case stinks of political pressure from an influential judge, on behalf of his son.

Carlos & Charlie’s…and why Natalee went there.

Most every tourist destinantion and college town have one if not several “hot spots” like what folks are describing this place as.

Young and “old” like to seek out adventure from time to time. The unknown and “edgy” stuff is part of the draw.

You can close ‘em down….but people will just find another way to seek out this kind of experience.

It’s part of human nature, not that everyone seeks to fulfill this curiosity.

It’s a part of alot of tourist destinations. Establishments like Carlos & Charlies are a major draw for some age groups with tourist dollars to spend. Example: Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo in Mexico…heck, it is a destination for some folks.

They exsist to keep people coming back…male & female.

I’m not endorsing any particular life style or morals. The fact remains..every party town / hot vacation spot will always have clubs where about anything goes after sundown.

    176. Larry on June 10th, 2005 9:20 am

The very notion that there was some strategic reason for releasing the 3 men is ludicrous. First, there was ample evidence upon which to hold them. As I have enumerated above, there were glaring inconsistencies in their stories, as originally reported. Second, they charged two black men with felonies, based solely upon the testimony of 3 men who had every reason to lie and who, themselves, should have been the chief suspects. Third, the prosecution’s case could NEVER be made stronger by releasing them and letting them destroy evidence and coordinate stories for a whole week. If they wanted to get one of them to crack, then it would have been much easier to have done so if they had kept them in custody and if they had cut off all communication between them. And what about polygraphic testing? It’s almost routine, in the U. S., whenever a family member is reported missing. And, even if it’s not admissable in court, it can still be used to “break through” a wall of lies.

There is a BIG story here, just waiting to be uncovered. It is the story of political pressure, corruption, and police bungling on a scale which would never be tolerated in the United States. If what I suspect is true, the island of Aruba is going to get one huge black eye from this incident. But let me say that I sincerely hope that I am wrong, and that I will be the first to concede my error if, in fact, the Aruban police can demonstrate, in the next few days, that they are in control of this case and that the release of these 3 men was part of a bona fide strategy to uncover the truth.

I wonder if it just hadn’t sunk in yet, and that’s why they weren’t detained at that point. Saying now that is was “tactical” just doesn’t jibe with the quote, but I’m certainly no investigative expert.

People are very curious about what happenned that night, mostly because they care, but also because they are curious. Please do not feel you have to answer every question. People in these instances will ask much more than you can answer, both physically and mentally.

But we appreciate you coming over here , and any input YOU want to make is more than welcome.

PS I am not knocking anyone here either, it is hard not to ask these questions.

For what it’s worth…I sense that certain people claiming to know Natalee….really don’t.

From Arashi Beach to the California Light Tower?
From California Light Tower to the back of the Lighthouse/Dunes area?
      And back to Holiday Inn?

Don’t worry about those guys having 10 days to get rid of the evidence. First, it would difficult for me to believe the FBI didn’t have them under surveillance. Secondly, you can get rid of gross evidence, but there is always a residual left behind. They will rip seat covers out of that car, vacuum it clean and sift through the collected material. They will get enough evidence to intimidate one of those guys and he will start singing like a birdie.

I still say it is a matter of hours or days before things begin coming together very quickly.

Also, just want to say that a few of you are a little testy still. I do understand this is an intense subject and that many of you were friends with Natalee. You have my prayers and empathy. However, lets try not to bite each other’s head off. It is a time to come together in support and not tear each other apart.

I have been to some of those places. I’m not sure where Arashi beach is? It seems to me that if one was to drive straight from CNC’s to the lighthouse and straight to the Holidy Inn it would take longer than 30 mins?

    223. marie from maine on June 10th, 2005 10:03 am

over the 1/2 hour they said it took companz- it takes 10-15 to get to the holiday in from down town- maybe 20-tot eh lighthouse maybe less… not enough time to “get romantic” i thing they were looking for some drugs and nobody wants to get in trouble..sorry getting too opinionated again thinking i am nancy drew-

      Thanxs for cleaning it up.

    225. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:03 am

I asked a native Aruban that the other day.
They stated it was 10 minutes from C n C’s to Arashi Beach (w/ no traffic), then 15 mins from Arashi Beach to Holiday Inn.

Can’t confirm if this is accurate.

Even more fishy, eh?? 5 minutes to ‘consensually engage in sex with three men? Sheesh

    226. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:05 am

Yes Tom the attitude today seems much better!!!!

    227. Jane Doe on June 10th, 2005 10:09 am

I would suspect that not everyone is as they represent themselves to be. One merely has to look at the “wording” of phrases to know that one is or isn’t from a given area/nation.

I think people should remind themselves that on an internet comment area, bulletin board, chat room.. .people can “be” whomever they choose to “be” and not all is always as it seems.

Take everything you read with a grain of salt and let your best instincts carry you the rest of the way.

Praying for Natalee and her family!!!

    228. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:10 am

I agree, Jane Doe…I trust your ‘instincts’ were kicking in as well??

    229. Karen on June 10th, 2005 10:11 am

It seems that there is quite a bit of finger pointing ……………..The only people who deserve fingers pointed at them are the ones who took Natalee. It doesn’t matter if there were NO chaperones. Violating Natalee’s basic human rights isn’t her chaperone’s fault, her parent’s fault, her friends’ fault, or Carlos and Charlies fault. It’s the assailants fault……..period. In two months, Natalee would have been, or WILL be entering the University of Alabama on FULL scholarship. Have any of you actually been to college???? Do your remember your freshman year???? Rush parties??? Do you really think that 18 year old college freshman aren’t exposed to alcohol, drugs, and more? That doesn’t mean that they will TAKE drugs, but they certainly will be exposed to them. It doesn’t mean that they will PARTY every night, but they will certainly have to learn how to “tune out” the parties in their dorms and aparmtent complexes when trying to study. And……..I imagine, from time to time, they might even have a DRINK before the age of 21! Natalee, and the other kids, weren’t exposed to anything in Aruba that they won’t be exposed to in a few months at the various universities they are likely to attend. Taking advantage of ANY of them isn’t justified by ANYONE at ANY TIME.

    230. Jane Doe on June 10th, 2005 10:14 am

“For what it’s worth…I sense that certain people claiming to know Natalee….really don’t. I do not mean to seem rude or insensitive…but…hmmmmm ”

Mom… I have to agree with you there, after reading the way some have worded their sentences. The way we construct our sentences can tell a lot about us. It’s one of those things that it’s difficult to hide. :) :)

    231. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:18 am

Boy, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that (I thought I might be chewed up & spit out for insinuating it)…It was soooooo obvious. That’s why I asked her about Natalee’s hobbies and pets…after that, she conveniently ‘bowed out’.

If I am wrong however, I apologize in advance.

    232. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:19 am

That was the reason for some of my questions. I was just wondering. The truth is that I’m sure that some of Natalees friends are looking at this site. I want to say my heart felt concern goes out to all of you!!!!

    233. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:20 am

The latest from CNN website (I apologize if this has been posted)

    234. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:21 am

You are right, I’m sure Gully. I do feel for Natalee’s friends…I don’t appreciate, however…when people disguise themselves. It’s highly disrespectful.

      Thanx for your post.

    235. Larry on June 10th, 2005 10:28 am

This case cannot drag on too much longer without raising serious questions of corruption, incompetence, and police bungling. At one point in time prosecutors even claimed to have “no leads.” Give me a break.

If this was a crime of opportunity, rather than a carefully laid plan, then there ought to be ample evidence of it.

I am amazed that with FBI involvement, and with top-level pressure from the Aruban government, that something hasn’t broken in 10 days.

      10 day.

On a small island where everybody (or at least, the locals) knows everybody?

    236. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:31 am

Wow! The cnn story was good. I hadn’t heard a lot of that onfo.

    237. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:33 am

I agree Larry, it just doesn’t add up!

    238. MOMfromMO on June 10th, 2005 10:33 am

I think there will be lots of breaking news to come, as I feel strongly that the real culprits are in custody. One of them will ‘break’….guaranteed. I just hope their detectives have the skill to craftfully squeeze the truth out of them.

There are ‘tactics’ used to get suspects to talk (ie, playing one suspect against the other; mean cop, nice cop, and so on).

I also think we’ll know something VERY VERY soon. The officials must be feeling the pressure, to not try every resource they have.

    239. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:35 am

I think we have to remember that we may not get all of the information we are seeking until after any type of trial. I am just hoping that Natalee will be found!!!

    240. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:37 am

Also they haven’t charged anyone yet they are suspicious of them? SO if there may be more people involved they may not want to release too much information but, just enough.

    241. Gabriel Leo on June 10th, 2005 10:40 am

      Here’s what’s new:

Yesterday they were reviewing a security camara at a gas station on the island.

The worker there claims that it was Natalee. She also said that the girl was an American, she bought a bounch of calling cards and had a stack of cash on her from which she used to pay the cards. She claimed this girl was acting very nervous. She then walked outside and enterred a white car, where she claimes that an older woman was driving the car. She than claimed that this car sped off. She contacted the police and gave the information to them. The police came and cofiscated the tape from the camara and was viewed by Natalee’s brother who claimes that it’s not her, but can’t say this with certainty. The girl’s face isn’t clearly to be seen. One of the local newspaper printed a picture of her and posted a shot from the camara. What has people wondering if it is her is the way this girl was standing in the gas station and the way she stands when a picture was taken of her here on the island. Who knows, but everyone is now just looking for answers anywhere they can find them. that’s the newest developements in the case.

    242. Gully on June 10th, 2005 10:44 am

Thanks GL! The picture is definately a blonde girl standing similar to her? Have they been able to track down the car?
