Accidental Death Not Ruled Out By Aruban Police

From the AP, Accidental Death Not Ruled Out

Two Suspects in Teen’s Disappearance Known for in Aruba Were Known to Police; Accidental Death Not Ruled Out

I am not sure if I am buying this premise. I doubt whether this will play very well.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) – Accidental death has not been ruled out in the case of a missing Alabama honors student whose fate remains a mystery despite the arrest of two suspects known to police for trying to pick up women in hotels in this Dutch Caribbean territory, authorities said Tuesday.
Police and FBI agents kept up a 9-day-old search for 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, but a lack of any solid leads was hindering progress, said several officers involved in the investigation.

Authorities had not ruled out any possibilities, including that Holloway may have drowned, Aruba Attorney General Caren Janssen said. Two divers were among the eight FBI agents helping in the hunt, but it was not immediately clear if they had begun an underwater search.

I’m not buying it either, Red. If Natalie DID drown…then the 3 boys didn’t actually return her to the hotel…wow! what a shock! NOT!!

But surely, nothing fishy will come of this. I mean after all, the security guards are marketing drugs for the paying tourists…How thoughtful!

I am an Ameriican living on Aruba for 10 years, and wishing for a safe return of this young woman.

Finally, something in print about accidental death. Why hasn’t this been discussed earlier in detail? Drunk or yes, maybe under the influence of illegal drugs, the drugs people can buy on the streets in Alabama, Florida or Maine. The boys could have brought her back to the hotel. The hotel, as you should know, sits on the edge of the sea. Her last night here, goes for a dip, tires, passes out, swims out to far… I hope not but I think the search should begin in that area as comprehensive as it has been on land.

I am tired of Nancy whatever the crazy lady’s name is sitting on National TV in the states saying Aruba is full of crack houses. Ridiculous. Why? How did she get to where she is today by bashing countries that she knows nothing about?

A sad and dissapointing time for many reason, for many people here in Aruba.

You got it. Also, where did accidental “DEATH” come from? Death???

In listening to the media on TV many a people have commented how difficult it has been to get information regarding this story.

I have never believed the 3 boys story from the beginning, personally. She never showed up on the video tape, so where did they drop her off? They have already probably lied to police.

There are a bunch of things that just don’t seem to jive and accidental death is one of them.

Yep. I’m not positive the 2 security guards actually did anything…but the 3-boy-story thing bugs the crap outta me. It’s just not jiving with the newest ‘speculation’.

Could it be because 2 of the 3 boys have affluential fathers?? Maybe trying to get the attention off of them?

      Time will tell.

      Thanx for your post!

I sure hope she is found or appears soon. I am a mother and believe me the fault does not lay with the country of Aruba but rather with the many wrong decisions taken. 1/ were where her friends when she left CC alone (by the way maybe she knew the 3 guys). Friends take care of each other don’t they? 2/Why did the chaporone let them go to a place known for out of control parties? 3/ Why did her roommate not report that she did not return to her room? 4/ How come those same friends did not stay on the island to look for their friend including the chaperones? 5/ How come they have not been questioned? 6/ Rumors has it that after CC everyone went to the beach and cont’ drinking. Parents if you do not let your children drink at home and go to some of these places how is it you let them travel alone in a group of high school 18 yrs old? It is asking for trouble.

Aruba is safe and the people are incredible human beings. Problems excist everywhere but to blame the country and the people for bad judgement made by several adults I think is not fair. We all have responsibilities and understand part of being an adult is to understand that every action has a consequence and a responsibility attached to it-

If my child goes missing tomorrow ( I hope never) will the FBI step in so quickly as they have in this case? The usually don’t- how come they are involved?

Natalie were ever you are I sure hope you are well and that they will find you safe and soon. My prayers are with you.

Jill, it’s either the 3 guys in the car or the 2 security guards. Hopefully it’s not ALL of them.

You are right. Time will tell. She has already been declared dead.

      IRMA,

Your questions are exactly what I and many of my concerned friends/colleagues here in Aruba would like know also. Can the tons of media/FBI that is here from the US dig into that a bit and provide answers to those valid questions that might provide possible leads instead of being quick to judge trashing an entire culture and country of close to 100,000 people.

      Masha, masha danki IRMA.
