Holiday Inn New Advertisement

Just saw a new advertisement on the TV for Holiday Inn, and I am sure it will cost them some serious summer travel business.

They had a little girl in the pool yelling “Marco”, and then a montage of people replying “Polo”. The montage included business people, a wedding party, different members of the staff, and other assorted guests.

If I was planning a wedding or a meeting and I had the image of a bunch of kids screaming MARCO POLO in the background, I sure as heck would reconsider having it in an establishment where this could occur. That I would look elsewhere would be an understatement.

That Holiday Inn thinks this is at all reasonably attractive makes me wonder seriously what the management of the company is thinking.
