Is This Really a Prediction?

Drudge is reporting:

CHRIS MATTHEWS, MSNBC: The 2008 presidential campaign will not include Al Gore. I’m reporting here tonight that the former vice president and 2000 presidential nominee will not run for president in 2008. I’ve been given this scoop from a perfect source, I must say, who informed me that the purpose of this disclosure at this time is to end speculation about a campaign that will never occur.

Ummm … SPECULATION? I know that I have been on the edge of my seat wondering whether the inventor of the INTERNET would run again. Why should Gore ever run again when he can forever whine that the election was stolen from him. If he had any guts he would have run again against GWB in 2004. However, Gore knew if he ran and lost he would never be able to claim he was robbed in 2000.

Let’s just hope that Matthew’s source is not Ron Reagan or better yet Bill Burkett, the so-called unimpeachable source. Is it really a prediction if no ones cares about the outcome?
